I’ve never imagined myself as a hero, never even thought that I would amount to much. You would have thought the same if you had known me before I helped Celestia and her empire capture Luna. Actually that doesn’t even sound very heroic, maybe I’m not such a hero after all. But I am focused on trying to free Luna, that’s got to count for something right? I hope so. But I guess I’m getting ahead of myself, better start from the beginning.
It all began when – wait, no that’s not right, I’m still getting ahead of myself. Let’s just start with me.
I was born about a decade before the economic decline in a place called Baltimare, as the first and last child of Samantha Blossom. I never knew my dad; he took off just after I was born.
Mom’s pregnancy was very long and very difficult. She was almost a whole month past due when the doctor decided to go ahead and get me out of there before I exploded her belly like an overfilled balloon.
I was born big, and just kept getting bigger. At birth I weighed a little over ten pounds and had a body the size of a watermelon. Okay, maybe not a watermelon, but you get the point, I was big.
By the time I was six; I weighed over eighty pound and stood four feet tall. At ten, I hit five foot nine and one eighty pounds. The pediatrician was astounded. That was, however, the last time I would ever see a medical professional. Because it was at that point that everything went to shit.
It took a few years of course, for the city to become a hellhole, but it did happen. Stores went bankrupt, houses got abandoned, and everyone left in search of a better place to be. Funding for schools? Forget that, any bit at note that the empire deemed unnecessary was taken and used to upgrade and fund Celestia’s army.
Now, at the ripe age of thirteen, I wasn’t concerned with the feud between the Solar Empire and the New Lunar Republic. Hell, all I knew about it was what the speakers set up around town played. This was that the empire was looking for the leader of the republic and any information leading to her capture would be greatly rewarded by Empress Celestia herself. This message was played on a loop until ten o’ clock, at which point they would announce the curfew. The very same curfew that ended up getting my mom killed.
Now my mom was a hardworking woman, she always did her job well, and got all her work done. She had to, because she had me to take care of. But that night, she had a lot of work piled up on her desk; so much that by the time she was done it was already past curfew. She was panicking, but I wasn’t because I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation. I did however; understand that we needed to get home, because we couldn’t sleep in her workplace, that was against the law. So we left, walking along the streets and doing our best to avoid the guards around town, it didn’t matter.
She was looking back at me as we turned the corner, making sure I was still right behind her. Unfortunately this resulted in her bumping right into a group of three guards.
“Well well, what do we have here?” The lead one said, laughing as my mom backed away in terror. She knew something bad was going to happen. As for me, well even back then I could tell that we were in a very bad situation.
The guard and his companions laughed maliciously as they closed in on us, seemingly from all sides. I remember being confused; it seemed as if there were more than three. Where had they all come from?
I was grabbed and pulled to the side, my arms and wings pinned as I watched the men close in on my mom. There was nothing but pure fear in her eyes. I tried to move but I was held tight by the third guard, I couldn’t do anything but watch as the men relentlessly teased and taunted my mother. They pinned her down and laughed as they tore her clothes from her body. She was naked now, pleading with them, begging them to stop and let her go, they didn’t stop.
Their laughter, that’s what I remember most. I remember them laughing as they bent her down and took turns penetrating her. I remember them laughing at her cries of pain. I remember them laughing at the tears streaming down her face. But most of all, I remember them laughing at me, at my thrashing and screaming and crying. I just wanted my mom safe; I just wanted it to be over. I wanted to go home.
My mom was screaming very loudly, and I guess they got sick of it. Because one of them, the leader, tried to shove his penis into her mouth. Oh my mom, bless her soul, she fought back. She bit down on the flared head as it entered her mouth, drawing blood and eliciting a pained yelp from the man. He jumped back, cursing violently.
When he turned back to her his eyes were full of hate, and his face was twisted with rage. He drew a long dagger from his belt and stalked towards her.
“You stupid fucking bitch,” he spat, spittle flying off his mouth and onto my mom’s face. “We were just going to have our fun with you and leave you here. But no, you just had to fight back, and now guess what’s going to happen? We’re going to kill you, and your fucking kid. I hope the bite was worth it, whore.”
She opened her mouth to say something, probably plead for my life, but she was interrupted by a ball of cloth being shoved into her mouth. It silenced her words and muffled her screams, allowing the men to continue.
“Turn her to face the boy,” The leader ordered. “I want him to watch his precious mommy die.”
His subordinates instantly obeyed, gripping my mother and turning her to face me. The leader grinned evilly as he knelt down in front of me, a sadistic glee in his eyes, his gold armor shining in the moonlight.
“Look at her,” He said. “Look at how pathetic she is, that’s your mommy, your happy little mommy, take a good long look kid. That’s what you’re going to look like as soon as I’m finished with her.”
He chuckled as he rose from his knees and strode behind my mother, grabbing a handful of her hair and yanking her head back. Her neck was perfectly exposed, and he winked at me as he laid the dagger on her neck. He drew the blade along her neck with a quick jerk. The skin split very easily, thick red blood gushing out and staining my mother’s light brown fur.
The pain I felt that day is a pain so immense that I hope I never feel it again. It was as if a piece of my heart had been removed in a split second. I completely broke down, I couldn’t move my body, and I was limp and sobbing. The tears didn’t stop at all, not when I was thrown to the ground, not when I was beaten viciously, getting kicked and punched as I lay on the ground in the fetal position. I still was crying when the dagger, still red with the blood of my mother, was plunged into my stomach. It wasn’t long before they left me to die, the darkness closed in soon after, enveloping me in its cold embrace.
