Chapters Two hundred and thirty-seven years ago, there was once a peaceful land named Equestria. The lands where green, forests were safe and weather was controlled by the ponies that inhabited the land But that was the past, now you look at the present. The land is a wasteland and the animals are mutated monsters that could rip apart anything that aggravates it or it deems food. The weather is full of chemicals and the weather would probably kill before you manage to get up to the clouds.
All of this happened when the Kohan ,the Griffon Empire and the Minotaurs Kingdom name, went into a genocidal war against anything they deem useless. Big mistake on their if you ask me, they only have to cities with supposed 'safety'. And the rumors say their species will end before the next century ends considering their both at war with each other, it maybe it will be next decade. Back on track, Equestria and the Changling Empire fought against them.
In the end, the world was nothing but a barren landscape. Equestria lost but ponies still exist, the Changlings weren't so lucky though. The only sapient species left were: Ponies, Minotaurs, Griffons, and Diamond Dog. And that is were Broken Heart story begins, but does not end, as you know if you READ THE SUMMARY! I hope you enjoy this story much more than me writing it. Oh yeah and don't forget about the other story I'm doing either, I'm still doing that, just a writers block is all.
Down the Rabbit HoleBy Vital Heart
In the ruins of the once great city of Canterlot, one pony could be seen if you were looking for him. That pony's name is Broken Heart, or more formally known as Vengeance, since he never really told anyone his name it was his only name. Vengeance became his name after he avenged his families murder, the worlds most dangerous gang torn to shreds, literally, by a foal. The weapons on the pony where well know to be one of a kind, the Paramond, a C3-0AP7, a crimson plasma blade, and the Angel of Death. The type of armor he was wearing was the last of its kind, the I.P.A.C.. But what people except Vengeance don't know about is that his brother, Shining Beacon, is the AI that helps him.
As Vengeance was making his way towards the ruined castle that Princess Platinum died in, he started up a conversation with Shining "Hey Shining, what are we looking for again?" Asked Vengeance
"Well, it's a device that the Canterlot Scientist were working on before the holocaust started," Shining answered "it was supposed to enable us to back in time."
Vengeance smirked slightly "So it's a device to go back and change to watch yourself get dressed." he said jokingly.
"Oh hah hah, at least I'm proud of my appearance." Shining shot back.
"Okay,okay is that all it does and what are the risks." Vengeance pressed on the matter at hoof
"No, it can also be used to travel dimensions, which was what they where hoping on accomplishing ." Shining said in a slightly depressed tone.
"They couldn't do it?" Vengeance asked.
"No it was successful, but Canterlot fell before they could test any further." Shining said, Vengeance knew is brother well enough to not ask what happened to the researchers.
And he instead asked "Where is the facility at?"
Shining was silent for a moment "There should be a secret entrance behind Princess Platinum throne." Vengeance galloped off at full speed, which was 240 mph wearing the suit with the attachments, and reached the door in no time
"Alright I'm here at throne, how do I get in." he asked Shining
"Well you're going to have to break through to entry, try not to make too much noise, I can sense a group of minotaurs entering the castle." Shining informed. And with that Vengeance slammed a hoof down onto the steel trapdoor, breaking it off it's hinges and sent it clattering down the stairwell. Vengeance ran down the stairs as fast as he could and reached the end after a few seconds.
"They heard that, and it looks like they're just the scouting party." Shining warned "Oh mother of all things holy and pure, that's a lot of minotaurs and griffons are entering through the roof, we better get a move on if we're going to find that device and get out in one piece." Shining said with obvious freight evident in his voice.
"Don't worry, the room is right around this corner with a fifteen inch titanium blast door right."Vengeance tried to reassure his brother while he rounded the corner. When he got to the door he plugged in his AI microchip, there was a ding and the blast door split in two and allowed enough room to hold one pony to move through. Vengeance grabbed the chip and ran through the door, the griffons were closing in and he didn't have much time before they got to the door. After he got through the door he plugged the chip back in and ran towards the device that looked like it had been made yesterday. As soon the door was closed Vengeance heard a distinct thudding noise as he walked over to get his AI chip.
"So is this how it ends Broken." Shining said as he was plugged back in.
"Yeah, that's what it looks like." Vengeance said with terrifying calmness.
"After all you had done, only to die stopping the Kohan from getting their hands on a machine that could give them the ability to cause more damage than what they had done, damn your heroic." Shining said with beaming with respect for his brother.
"Not without bringing as many of the monsters with me." Vengeance said as he placed down the last charge near the reactor.
"This explosion should be more than enough the leave nothing of these demons in flesh." Shining deduced with serious tone
"Whenever you get like that Shining you think of some way to save my life, what do you think that this suit can survive a point blank nuclear explosion." Vengeance said with a little humor in his voice.
"No, I think you should put that portal to some use other than a tide-shifting bomb." Shining said slightly embarrassed that he was so easy to read.
"So you want me to go back in time or something?" Vengeance asked completely oblivious to the plan Shining offered.
"No you buffoon, I mean to go to a different dimension." Shining said with a deadpanned look on his pix-elated face.
"Oh, how long do you think that will take." Vengeance said with a serious tone not one to fight with his brother.
"Not long, I just need to find the right one." Shining said with pride evident in his voice.
"So after the star explodes, or is it going to be longer" Vengeance said playfully
"Oh hah hah, just plug me in and turn the species outside extinct." Shining said slightly annoyed
"Okay, how are they getting in though?" Vengeance asked with so much seriousness, that it would best ten Chormes, HANDS DOWN
"They got a minotaur cannon setup outside the door and is getting ready to shoot. " Shining said matter-of-factually through the inter-com inside the armor as he was pulled out of the mainframe and plugged into the device.
Vengeance trotted off to the end of the hallway and readied his C3-0AP7. For those of you who don't know what the C3 can do, it's basically an overpowered semi-automatic shotgun. The C3 can rip through Mez-12 shields in two shots and if it hits a living organism, that thing is gone, literally, if hit your bodied is dissolved into nothing, not even ashes. Back on track, Vengeance stayed completely still until the cannon and the Kohan rushed in.
He fired a multitude of at various rushers hitting all targets and some behind them. Then they started up the shields and got ready to advance, big mistake on their end, because the shields couldn't even stop the round fired. Then the hail of bullets pounded Vengeance so hard that he wobbled for a bit before reopened fire. With so many griffons and minotaurs swarming the entrance, he would have to fall back soon.
"It's ready." was shouted over the intercom and he rushed for the board, and grabbed Shining and jumped through the portal. As he was flying down the tunnel, the explosives ignited and messed up the land location, badly. When he appeared, he took one look around and saw a large forest, a town, and Canterlot was a ways behind him. Then he looked down, and screamed like filly as he fell.

Okay that not only hurt, it also has me in front of some kind of predator mutant. The mutant has a body of a large lion, has a scorpions tail, and bat wings. The scan says that venom is extremely piousness to anything with a beating heart, the saliva of the mutant seems you counter out as an anti-venom, thus making the prey edible by that thing.
"You going to take it out or knock it out?" Shining asked curiously.
"Knock out, I don't know anything about this dimension, other than it's green, healthy, and this thing is pissed." Vengeance said wisely.
"Wise choice, do it and lets move along." Shining said with a computerized grin
And with that Vengeance lunged at the mutant, the mutant lunged as well. They both met and to the mutants surprise, Vengeance pummeled it into the ground as if it were a bag of wheat. Vengeance had expected more of a fight out of the cat, and knocked it unconsciousness in a single blow to the side of its head, the tail of the thing fell flat shortly afterwards.
"That was easy." Vengeance said surprised at the quick victory.
"Easy, that wasn't even a test run for you." Shining said, who was laughing his pix-elated flank off.
"Okay, now to find that village I saw earlier." Vengeance said as he trotted in the general direction of the town.
"Wait, how do you know the locals will just accept you?" Shining said a little cautious.
"I don't, that's why I'll have the Paramond out, and you on overdrive with your scanning." Vengeance said with a smirk.
"Yeah yeah, I'll make sure nobody's eating your 'Munchies'." Shining said humorously.
"They better not try to in the first place." Vengeance said icily.
"I still don't know why you like them so much." Shining said smiling
"Their delicious and help mend the depression of losing friends and foes alike." Vengeance said with inspiration and experience behind his voice.
As they were walking through the forest, Shining sensed another presence not far off.
"Hey Broken, we got company not far off west of our position, wanna use the Paramond to see what it is." Shining informed Vengeance.
"Kay, lets see who's out here in the big dark forest." Vengeance said as he pulled out the Paramond.
He looked through the scope in the general direction of the presence, only to find and equine shape about 37 feet away. As he started to scan the details of the equine, mare presumably, and figured out that indeed she was intelligent enough to take care of herself and not have to be livestock. There were there Diamond Dog figures sneaking up behind the mare, and spears normally don't mean good things, nets aren't good either.
"She's being followed by some Diamond Dogs, who are armed with spears and nets, most likely their trying to enslave her." Vengeance clarified "But until the fact are shown, we're not going to kill any of them."
"Good thinking Broken, take them out, then chat with the mare." Shining said encouragingly.
And with that Vengeance took off as fast as the terrain would let him without breaking his cover, he charged the Diamond Dogs. There were 18 of them, all them focused on one goal, capture the mare. Vengeance knocked out two of them as he was slowing, then leaped at the three more knocking all of them unconsciousness in an instant, a scream from the mare they were following sounded through out the area. Vengeance turned on his hooves in a instant and charged the Diamond Dog that caught her in a net.
The dog didn't see him until the hoof planted itself on it's face, sending it sprawling to the other end of the clearing, knocked out with a broken nose. The rest of the Diamond Dogs charged spears thrown and nets tossed, either bounced off or were torn off by Vengeance. He now knew that the dogs were hostile, and needed to be taken care of quickly, or risk the life of the mare. He pulled out the Paramond and fired at the closes dog, the Diamond Dog was nothing in seconds. The others looked in shock and horror as their comrade was reduced to nothing, another beam and the dogs took off missing another one of their comrades.
After the Diamond Dogs ran, Vengeance picked up the mare with his front hooves while standing on his back hooves, he took off in the direction the mare was going. About an hour of running and chatting with Shining, they found a hut. The hut would look menacing to the locals, but to a stallion who basically lived in Satan's personal nightmare it looked pretty pathetic.
"This is either the place where she lives or were on of her family members do." Vengeance said as he opened the door and walked inside.
"Well, she does love masks and potions." Shining deduce as Vengeance looked around.
"Probably a herbalist, or Alchemy user." Vengeance said "Maybe we can find out after she wakes up from her 'nap'."
Then they just waited, I'm serious by the time she started to stir, the sun was set and the stars are out.
"Ugh, my head feels like I'm dead." The mysterious zebra said as she awoke.
"If your head hurts, your not only alive, but also alright." Vengeance said in deep voice, not wanting to startle her to much.
The zebra bucked right in the face with a scream.
"You do know that I just saved your life, right?" Vengeance informed the zebra, who was still bucking him with so much ferocity that it would make a Seeker mutant faint.
"I'm sorry I didn't know you helped me, please accept my apology." The zebra said, she was pinned to the floor by Vengeance, who eventually got tired of his shield being bucked.
"It's okay, you were attacked and when you wake up, there is someone in your house that you don't know." Vengeance calmed the mare as he released his grip and got off her "You should probably get some sleep, so I'll leave you to that."
"Wait, where are you going to sleep." the zebra asked nervously.
"In a five star hotel." Vengeance replied sarcastically before continuing "Probably in a tree or a fox hole."
The zebra gasped "Your going to sleep out there in the Everfree Forest."
"Yeah, so are you." Vengeance replied.
"But my house scares away the animals," She persisted "you should sleep here for the night."
"If any animals get near me, it'll be the last thing they do." Vengeance said causally.
"Still I think you should stay here for the night, as a token of apology and gratitude." the zebra asked again.
"Okay, as a token, nothing more."Vengeance nodded as he walked over to corner and sat down.
"Your not going to take off your armor or oh I don't know sleep on in the bed." the zebra said curiously.
"The beds yours, and as for the armor, to many people tried killing me in my sleep after I helped them." Vengeance said calmly.
"WHAT!" the zebra practically screamed "Ponies you risked your life for, attempted to take it themselves!"
"Not just ponies, there is Diamond Dogs and Minotaurs, the Griffons and those zebras." Vengeance listed off.
"Why would they do that out of the blue." the zebra said in shock.
"The zebras went mad shortly after watching their be destroyed, the ponies were broke and thought I'd ask for money or I'd kill them myself, griffons were just greedy, minotaurs thought I was leading them in false sense of security and tried to kill me while I was going to the bathroom, diamond dogs just want ponies to be their slaves and anyone that can stand up to them should be killed." Vengeance informed calmly.
"How can you be so calm about such horrible things happening to you." the zebra said visibly horrified.
"You can't choose good or bad memories, but you can choose weather to let them consume you or not." Vengeance said in a calm and relaxing voice.
The zebra smiled at that before realizing something,"Um, sir may I have your name, if you are staying in my domain."
"My real name has not been applied to me anyone after my family was murdered, but you may call me Vengeance." Vengeance introduced.
"YOUR FAMILY WAS MURDERED!" the zebra once again screamed. "Is it why your armor looks burned."
"Yes my family was murdered, the bastards forgot to confirm if I was dead or not." Vengeance informed "And yes that is part of the reason."
"YOUR FAMILY WAS MURDERED BEFORE YOUR EYES!" the zebra screamed once more.
"Maybe this should wait for the morning, and before we go to bed I believe that it's your turn." Vengeance informed
the zebra blinked for a few moments, then realized what he was talking about "Oh I'm sorry about my propaganda, my name is Zecora."
Vengeance nodded "Well, good night Zecora, I hope you don't try your luck at something so many others have failed."
And with that they parted to their chosen sleeping areas.
Not in my Comfort Zone
The next day...
Vengeance woke up to his alarm "Ugh, where's the coffee."
"Seriously, you just woke up in a unknown place and your reaction is 'where's the coffee' and your suppose to be the most feared being in the wastelands." said a very annoyed Shining.
"Yeah, yeah." Vengeance waved a hoof back and forth nonchalantly "I'd like to see you do half the stuff I do, and by the way, I've ended up in stranger and mare disturbing places, most of the time tied up or hanging by a hook."
Shining just rolled his eyes "Don't remind me, I still have nightmares about that on griffon." he said with a shiver.
"Don't worry, she's either dead or looking for another AI to bang." Vengeance said with a small smile upon his face.
"Good morning, Vengeance, did you have a good dreams while you were sleeping." Zecora said as she walked in groggily
"I can't say that I did, but it was pleasant to wake up and not be tied up for ransom." Vengeance said calmly
"N-Nopony here would do that to you or anypony else." Zecora stammered
"Really, then why were those ropes around that pony skeleton a few trees away." Vengeance questioned cooly
"What, show me." Zecora ordered Vengeance
Vengeance pointed in the right direction "That way, don't miss it."
Zecora took of faster than a trained eye could see, leaving Vengeance in her house alone with only a quick 'thanks'. Not two minutes later she came back with some tears in her eyes.
"Zecora, I'm sorry for that pony's death, but I think your tears would do any good." Vengeance said while wiping away a few tears.
"Your right of course, but how do you not show your remorse." Zecora asked Vengeance.
"I've seen enough of it." he answered flatly.
"Okay, I'm fine, no more delay." Zecora said while starring at him intently while they were walking through the forest.
"Miss Zecora, if your going to try and rape me, please refrain until we are inside your hut." Vengeance said calmly.
"W-What, no Vengeance, I meant to ask you something if you would listen and don't tell me that has happened on your mission." Zecora stammered as a blush appeared on her face.
"Okay what is it and yes." Vengeance said as if nothing happened.
"Okay, do you want to go to Ponyville as a visit or to stay." Zecora asked.
"Who said anything about going to Ponyville." Vengeance asked.
"Well, this is my house and I don't think I can harbor you under it." Zecora said quietly.
"Oh, that makes sense, I guess stay." He said with a calm demeanor.
"Great, I should let them know before it gets late." Zecora said with glee.
"Why don't we just go now." Vengeance said as they unknowingly made their to Ponyville.
"Oh no, they would scream and run, and leave you in the mud." Zecora said calmly before a scream broke out.
"MONSTER!" Every pony in the market, which was conveniently placed to blocks into town, screamed in terror and ran from the zebra and the apocalyptic survivor.
"Well that bad, lets get out of here before they go mad." Zecora said worriedly.
"To late." Vengeance pointed to six mares charging them, with the intent of tackling him to the ground.
Zecora was about to step in when Vengeance stepped in front of her. She realized what he was going to do and knew that it involved a lot of fighting. As Vengeance prepared for battle, he scanned his opponents, he liked his odds. Only two of them show much physical strength and one dangerous magic user, the others were basically useless, except for that pink one who seems to hold warping abilities. 'Oh no not a pony with Stalker abilities' He thought as he charged his opponents.
Just as predicted, the fastest one of the group sped ahead to take the glory. Vengeance sled under and bucked up, only enough to crack her ribs. The second was the strongest, tried to buck him, but he proved to be to fast for the pony and ducked underneath the pony. He slammed her chest with a hoof sent her airborne, saw a flash of lavender and rolled out of the way of a magic blast. Shining did a quick scan and sent the results to Vengeance as quickly and efficiently as possible. Liking the results of the blast he charged the unicorn, slamming into her sending her flying backwards. The pink one charged, he avoided the charge but did not engage her, knowing full well that it was pointless to hit a Stalker, instead lead right into a trap.
Instead of slamming into him, she slammed into the yellow one rendering her unconscious the pink one stood up and got ready to charge, but this time he knew she wasn't going to like the results. The strongest one had gotten up and was twirling a lasso, ready to toss. When she did he dodged both attacks, the lasso tying up the pink one as she tried to escape, the cowpony ran over to try and untie her but knocked unconscious by a single hoof.
Only three ponies left, a alabaster with a purple mane, the lavender one with the horn and wings that he failed to notice earlier, and the cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane. This time he knew they weren't going to underestimate him, that he knew for a fact, if you lose half of your party to one individual you either run or don't make the same mistake. He waited for them to move, then he noticed something. He forgot about the pink one who was trying to sneak up on him with a rock. With a simple kick backwards he was awarded with contact of her face, knocking her out in a instant.
The others were in shock that he noticed, that he took advantage of. He charged, slamming into the cyan one before she could react, sending her flying into a nearby carrot stand. Dodging multiple magic blasts and rocks, he advanced towards the last two. He slammed his hoof in to the lavender ones face, knocking her out instantly, then did the same to the other one.
With their team KO, he trotted back to Zecora, who was dumbstruck.
"I think we're fine for now." Vengeance said as he began to leave town, only to be stopped by Zecora.
"Oh no,we're already here and you are going to apologize to them when they wake up." Zecora said with unwavering determination.
"I would but something tells me that either I should leave fight an entire village." Vengeance as he pointed behind her.
Oh, what do you me-" Zecora said as she turned around and saw a angry mob slowly moving towards them "Okay."
"Well see ya back at the hut then, if they want to talk I'll be there." Vengeance informed before taking off at supersonic speeds.
"Okay time to get them to the library and explain to them what happened." Zecora said as she tied them to her and took of running towards the Golden Oaks Library.
