Freedom, Peace, And Honor
4: Before you step off the starting line...
Previous ChapterUpon the cold breeze of the night. I had woken up from my body involuntarily shivering on the grass plain. I felt dry blood from my back and the dehydration was horrendous on my muscles as if I haven't had anything to drink for days. I tried to swallow my own saliva but my throat was like sandpaper. "Cough! Cough!" I hacked, with pain.
I had managed to crack open my eyes. All I could see was a blurry mess. "Any one there?" I said if there was someone around. My muscles burned while it used most of my energy to move.
How long have I been out? Where am I?
I then wiped the eye gunk to see nothing around but the black of the night and the trillions of stars that littered the black sky. I watched as if I could feel the sensation of euphoria for a moment but it slowly died down. With all the strength I could muster I got to my feet. The world spun and my legs shook under my feet. I feel down to the floor like if gravity had increased.
“Nuh! Cough.” I moaned in pain. The wound on my back felt like it had ripped open. I can’t…I temporally blacked out, when I had woken back up I saw Sam5. She was sitting down next to me. “Caption, we need to get you to a hospital. You’re not looking so well.” Sam5 said gabbing a hold of my arm and pulled up to my feet. “Wha…” I said feeling her supporting me. “Don’t talk. Just walk, we don’t have any more time until it start’s.” She said as I tried to walk.
I couldn't think strait any more. All I knew was I’m walking with Sam5 back into the woods. Walk to the woods… The woods we walk, to find… To. I… I was a ghost lightly flouting along the dead leaves, past the old logs. Down next to the river bed, into a dirt road.
Sam5 stops as I tried to walk past the road. “This is were I have to leave you.” She said letting me down the floor slowly. “No… I need you to stay.” I protested. She looked me in the eyes before saying, “I’m only here to push you along. I’m sorry caption.” When she turned around I reached out for her. “Can you tell Sara, I’m sorry,” I said, stopping her for a second.

I passed out when I tried to get back up. My body locked up when I had woken up. The sky was bright, there was a slight breeze cruising by. “O, Neil what have you done with yourself?” The man said looking down at me. “What’s with the confused look? Aren't you happy to see your old man?” He said while I tried to move to no effect.
The man smiles at how I struggle to move. “You’re not going anywhere. The poison has paralyzed you to a certain degree. Don’t worry, it will only last several hours.” He said, walking around me. “In the mean time you need to take a nap.” He got on top of me and began to chock me until I backed out.

The world doesn't want me to go on... But some one else is pulling the strings. The puppet master wants me to move. I will move for her.
The snow grabbed me and has slowly crept it's claws of death to my limbs. "GAAA!" I yelled as I sat up I shock. I looked around to see no one around, but now I was in the middle of the snowed over road. Shit, must have been out for more then a month. When I tried to get up. My muscles felt if they where tightly packed iron springs that couldn't move.
In a situation like this, I made a small Ice shelter from the snow and once inside I took my lighter from my pocket and held it to my shaky hands. Clack...Clack, I pulled the little lever until the small blue flame came to life. I sighed in relief as the small flame heated my palm.

I had managed to warm up my body enough to fully function. I think I should take it easy. The poison might still be inside me.
Like a zombie, I busted the small shelter by standing up. The cold swoop to me as if where a ocean wave. "Whoa that cold" I said with chattering teeth. I picked a direction to walk on the snowed road and began the journey over the startling line.
