Senna in Equestria
Journeys end
Load Full StorySenna floored it down the main straight. The prolific roar of the FW16's vicious V10 engine filled him with the thrill of racing.
But he couldn't clear the thoughts about Ratzenberger, the rookie who had died only the day before. Whenever he wasn't occupied by a corner or controlling his new handling improvements, he was thinking of him.
Although his feet were slammed down to the floor, his legs were constantly in the prescience of an Austrian flag, in honour of the recently deceased drivers nationality.
He corrected his line a little, as the next left hander was a higher speed corner, and he would need to be on the far right of the track to get the straightest line through the bend, and so he would not have to break as much.
He was nearing the end of fourth gear, and he kept the pedal to the metal to get the last bit of speed he could squeezein before Tambourello. Still accelerating, he cleared his head and prepared for the corner.
The garage team had fitted a new set up into his suspension, and with a bit of redirecting them with some personal advice on how the handling felt, he had managed to get an almost perfect turning characteristic for his car.
So he was going to test it around Tambourello. He was in pole, so he had to maintain some amount of caution on the corner besides, the race had barely started yet.
As he neared the left hander he was doing around 150mph. The car sat on the rev limiter as he entered the braking zone. He took his foot of the accelerator and pressured the clutch. He pushed his right leg down on the brakes as he turned into the bend.
Nothing happened. It felt like the cars brakes were down to the metal.
He started to panic, and as the cars rear lost control in a 130mph slide, all he could do was watch that concrete wall get ever closer...
Twilight and her friends sat in the meadows, as she finalised the preparations for the spell. The spell was given to her by Celestia herself. It was Starswirl the bearded's 'Inter-dimensional object transportation' spell.
The spell was one of the great magician's lost works as he died before he could finish it. It was designed to transport objects between dimensions. So pretty much as it said on the tin.
Twilight had finished the spell in only 2 weeks, which was an astounding time to complete a spell of this calibre. But the truth was, she was so determined to give it a try, that she locked herself away for most part of every day in those 2 weeks to complete it.
She finished revising the spell, she wanted to make sure she got this right, no chances. Snapping the book closed and shifting all of her bags out of the way, she gave her friends the signal.
They all stood well back, not sure of what was going to pop up. Fortunately for Twilight she had brought along knowledge of a shield spell that her brother in the Equestrian guard had taught her. So if something unexpectedly large or fast moving were to appear, she could stop herself from becoming a pancake.
"Ok girls, you ready?" She shouted to her friends.
"Ready!" They came back just as loud.
"Alrighty then."
She calmed her thoughts and cleared her mind to allow her brain to perform magic efficiently. Lighting up her horn, a lavender glow encompassed her horn and she began to cast the spell.
It was a tiring spell, and was taking a lot out of her. And by the end of this, that shield spell would pretty much exuast her completely.
She created a high energy gateway in front of her, and directed it a little further away to be safe. Currently the bridge only had one end, and she was prepared to build the gate at the other end.
Taking a deep breath, she proceeded to step two of the spell. Creating a second gate, she forced it through the first gate and placed it at the other end of the dimensional bridge.
Finally she was ready to finish it, and she opened both ends of the bridge allowing the 2 worlds to be connected. Then she cast a teleportation spell on the other side, collecting the nearest object and allowing it to travel to her side.
She closed the second gate, forcing the object through her first one.
The object appeared out of the gateway. It was travelling fast, very fast. She only just had time to stop her portal incantation and put up her shield.
It bounced of the top of the purple dome, and flew towards her friends. They all scattered before the thing crushed them like so many insects under hoof.
It smashed down into the ground and skidded along the meadow, while Twilights shield was bombarded with pieces of shrapnel and small pieces of debris.
The object came to a halt, as did the flying bits of metal and all was silent. It had left a gauge in the earth where its weight scraped out dirt from underneath itself, to create a mound which ha slowed it down.
Twilight drooped her shield and her friends stared in shock. If they had reacted just a bit later, they could have been Diamond Dog meat. All was strangely tranquil for what had just happened, and the purple unicorn ran towards the object.
The large hunk of metal was blue and white, and its underside was a deep black. What was strange about it was that although it looked to be mangled beyond recognition, it looked artificial. It looked to have at one time been symmetrical before it crashed into Equestria, and mechanical parts were exposed and hanging from four points at the front and back. 2 on either side.
The object was leaning on its side against the dirt mound it had created. Something hung out from a small rectangular opening, it was a similar pattern to the object with the same colours and adornments. Except for it had a yellow, green and dark blue dome fitted around its end.
Then she noticed that the thing that hung from the mechanical beast... Was breathing.
