Chapters The Element of Chaos Moonlight Chaos
Moonlight Chaos was an alicorn. The only one she knew of. Although her magic was extremely powerful it was not like other unicorns magic. It was very different, it was crazy! She could make cotton candy clouds appear and rain chocolate milk. She was able to flip buildings over and make them float in mid air. She was able to create illusions and turn ponies into the opposite of their true selves. Some ponies said she was cursed, others said her magic was completely chaotic. The only friend she had was a pegasus named Cotton Feathers. They both love teasing and annoying other ponies. Today she was over Cotton Feathers home because she felt lonely. And soon she would find something that would change her life forever.
Moonlight looked out the window, the sun quickly set and the moon took its place."Cotton, who do think creates all of this? Who makes it day and night so quickly, and is able to make cotton candy clouds appear?" Cotton shrugged and said in a sweet yet bratty voice,"I don't know, but whoever does it I really like it, so who cares." Cotton Feathers was a pink pegasus with a baby blue mane. She may not have magic but she had power. She used her flaws and charms to tempt other ponies. They would fall in love with her and do whatever she told them to do, even if they made themselves look like fools. She was a very sly pony. Moonlight had half agreed with Cotton though. She liked whoever was doing this, but that did not mean she did not care. She sat in the corner of Cotton's house and flipped through one of her Equestrian History books. She used her magic to make each page go by until she came to a page that had a creature on it that was very unique. It had the head of a pony, and a tall body made up of different animals. Moonlight liked this creature. Cotton Feathers sat down next to her as she read the next few pages. "Long ago a creature called a draconequus came to Equestria and used it's magic to put Equestria into a world of chaos. Anypony that tried to approach this creature was never seen from again. This creature is the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony, and his name is Discord." Moonlight and Cotton looked at each other, "Wow." Cotton said in an excited voice,"That is awesome! I think...." Moonlight nodded, she wanted to find out more about Discord. Suddenly she heard something bang against the window. Moonlight and Cotton Feathers both looked at the window, nothing was there. Moonlight said goodbye to Cotton and headed home.
Moonlight was a very neat pony, but her house was crazy! Her many years of trying to control her magic had affected her house greatly. The carpet had once been a pale purple, but later turned the entire floor into a giant multi colored chess board, all of her furniture was neat and clean but was floating in the air, she had many cotton candy clouds located around her house but even though chocolate milk was always pouring out, her house never seemed to flood. The chocolate milk came out but once it hit the floor it just disappeared and came out the cloud again. Moonlight headed to her bedroom, she had to fly up to her bed because it was five feet in the air. She used her magic to go through all the history books she owned to find any extra information about Discord. She found nothing after searching for two hours. She was beginning to feel dizzy, just as she was falling asleep she said, "Who are you Discord and where can I find you?" The last thing she saw was the moon rising in place of the sun. It was almost as if it rose for her.
Discord was enjoying another day of chaos, he was turning the coats of ponies into different colors. He laughed every time as each pony shrieked at the new crazy color of their coat. Then he heard somepony saying, "Stop it Moonlight! Leave us alone, your magic is crazy!" Discord was concerned, he had never seen anyone with crazy magic, except himself. He flew over just to see how crazy this "Moonlights" power was. He then found four ponies, two pegasi, one earth pony, and an alicorn. Discord watched as he saw the alicorn turn the earth pony's coat from a bright orange into a pattern full of swirls and circles. Discord laughed. It was so funny! Then he saw the alicorn make cotton candy clouds appear and rain chocolate milk over the two pegasi! Discord was amazed, he did not think anypony could have magic just like his! He realized this pony was special. He followed her all day, watching her continue with her day, sometimes she would use her magic to cause chaos. Sometimes she would laugh, other times she looked like she could not control her magic. Even through that she looked alone, like she had no friends. He knew how she felt. Finally he followed her to a very large house, he saw her walk in slowly. He went to a window on the side of the house and watched her. She was talking to a pink and blue pegasus. Eventually he saw her walk towards the window and made himself invisible. He saw Moonlight look through the window for a while. He was just able to make out her say, "Cotton who do think creates all this? Makes it day and night so quickly, and is able to make cotton candy clouds appear?" Discord smiled.That would be me, my dear. But why would you ask a question like that? Nopony wants to know who creates chaos. He continued looking through the window and eventually saw her flip through a book using her magic, and eventually saw Moonlight come to a page with a picture of him on it. After a while he saw Moonlight look at the pegasus, she fascinated him. How she was interested in his magic, how she had some how had magic similar to his. He liked this pony, a lot. He got to close to the window and banged into it creating a loud noise. He ducked. Moonlight and the pegasus looked at the window. When they looked away Discord got up and continued watching. After a while he saw Moonlight leave. He followed her to a very crazy house. He liked it. But when he looked inside he gasped. The inside was a small world of chaos! There was cotton candy everywhere, the furniture was floating and the floor looked like a chess board. He liked the way this looked. He saw Moonlight fly up to her bed and look through many books. He leaned on the window and sighed. This pony was amazing! After watching her search through books for two hours, he knew she needed sleep. He snapped his claw and caused a tired feeling to fall on Moonlight, just before she fell asleep he heard her say,"Who are you Discord and where are you?" Discord smiled. He snapped his fingers again and caused the moon to rise. He wanted her to sleep peacefully. He appeared in her room and curled up next to her. When she woke he would be waiting for her. He had found his Element of Chaos.
Moonlight woke up slowly. She felt much better and wanted to continue her research on Discord. She was just about to use her magic to summon more books when she heard a soothing, gentle, but sly voice, "Well, well, glad to see you're awake. How do you feel my dear?" Moonlight turned around and saw a sight she thought she would never see. It was a tall creature that had a body made up of different animals. She recognized his appearance. It was the same creature from her book, it was a draconequus, more specifically it was..... Discord. Moonlight was not scared but she was in shock. For a while she could not move, she just stared into his yellow and red eyes. She felt so enchanted looking into them. Then she finally replied, "I feel fine thank you. Are you.... Discord?" Discord was confused, usually anpony that looked at him would scream and run away in terror. But this pony looked amazed seeing him. After a while he smiled and said, "Yes, my dear. I am Discord, are you surprised to see me?" Moonlight slowly said, amazed that she was talking to Discord himself, "Well, I am surprised to see you here. I thought I would probably be the last pony you would want to meet. My only question is why are you here?" Discord said,"I am here because I have seen your magic. It is very powerful and is very similar to mine. I want to help you." Moonlight was surprised and at the same time filled with joy,"How can you help me? If you have not noticed already my magic is not exactly "normal"." Discord saw Moonlights horn glow for a second and then a cotton candy cloud appeared above his head. Moonlight looked nervous. Discord snapped his fingers and made a glass appear. It filled with chocolate milk, then Discord started drinking the glass. When he finished he threw the liquid out the window causing an explosion. Then followed by screaming ponies. Moonlight started to giggle. Discord said, "Not normal magic hmm? Just look at my magic! I want to help you control your chaotic powers. Then later you and I can spread chaos together. What do you say my dear?" Moonlight was shocked, Discord. Asked. Her. If. He. Could. Help. Her. Moonlight knew exactly what to say, "That would be..... Amazing!" Discord grinned, snapped his fingers, and in a flash he and Moonlight were gone.
Every day for a week Discord would help Moonlight control her powers, after three days she had learned fast. He was amazed how quickly she could catch on. She would stay with him all day. Even when she was not practicing on controlling her magic. During the end of each day he would test her to see how well and how much she learned. At certain times of the day they would go around Equestria causing chaos and teasing other ponies. They laughed all day. Every night Moonlight would come home tired but feeling more powerful. She dreamed every night of her and Discord. Ruling Equestria, watching other ponies in misery. By the end of the week Discord felt she was ready, he tested her by throwing everything he could at her. But she was ready she got rid of everything, dodged everything, and made everything. By the time she finished she knew chaos was in her. She knew Discord cared about her, and would help her. Then it happened Moonlight was changing, Her coat grew into a darker blue, her wavy mane was longer and flowed even more, she grew small fangs, her eyes turned from blue, to yellow and red. Matching Discord's. Finally a crown with her cutie mark appeared on her head. When the transformation finished Discord said,"You represent the Element of Chaos, my dear Moonlight Chaos."

The Element of Chaos Awakens and Star Dim Meets Moonlight Chaos
Moonlight looked at her new appearance. She had not changed much but in the places she had changed it made her look slightly different. She did not mind the way she looked although she did like it, it was the fact that Discord had called her Moonlight Chaos. How did he know her name? She felt like she belonged to him. She felt special. Discord walked over to her and said,"How do you feel my dear?" Moonlight said," I feel fine, but I have to ask you, what is the Element of Chaos?" Discord smiled and began," About a month ago I used my magic to create six powerful elements, each element represented true chaos, they were the Elements of Darkness, Corruption, Power, Confusion, Fun, and the most powerful, the one you represent my dear is Chaos. You represent the meaning of Chaos and Disharmony with your magic which makes you just as powerful as me." Moonlight smiled and said," I can definitely see why you made one of the Elements Fun." Discord laughed and said," Yes my dear, and together all of the Elements make the Elements of Chaos. Now all we have to do is find five other ponies to control the other five Elements.... But we don't need to worry a out that right now, how about we go out and spread some chaos right now?" Moonlight nodded and leaped off the ground and opened her wings. Discord watched her for a while and then joined her. Although he had only known her for almost a week he grew more fascinated with her every moment he spent with her. Not only did she have magical abilities like his, but she understood him and actually cared about him. Tommorow he would try to find out as much as he could about her.
When Discord and Moonlight got back after a fun day of causing chaos Moonlight had asked if she could stay with him for the night. After awhile he agreed and while Moonlight slept he watched her. Even when she was sleeping she seemed fascinating. Her slow breathing seemed calm and gentle and they way she was tucked under the blankets made her look warm and safe. Slowly Discord grew tired as well and fell asleep right next to her. Even when sleeping Moonlight could feel his presence. It made her feel safe and warm knowing he was with her.
When Discord and Moonlight woke up they felt very full of energy and power. Discord wanted to see what see did when he was not around so he told her to spend the day alone for a while. Moonlight did not ask any questions but was vey concerned.So after Moonlight left Discord secretly followed her all day. While following her he noticed she was a little shy when he was not around, it was probably because he was the only one who talked to her besides that pegasus he saw last week talking to Moonlight before she met him. But other then that she did not act much different, she would spread chaos for a while, Discord was pleased, her magic had grown stronger and had improved greatly. Later visited the pegasus again. Then Moonlight bumped into somepony, a purple unicorn using her magic to spread darkness everywhere. Eventully Discord made a thought that this pony could be one of the Elements he was looking for.
Moonlight woke up feeling well rested, she found that Discord was already awake,Moonlight used her magic to get her a glass of chocolate milk. This time she actually drank the liquid this time. After she finished Discord asked her " I have something important I need to attend to. Do you think you could spend the morning by yourself?" Moonlight was confused but she knew it was probably for a good reason,"I suppose I could." Discord saw a nervous look on Moonlight's face, he said in a very assuring voice,"Don't worry my dear, it won't be that long. I will see you in about two hours." Moonlight perked up a little, it was not a long as she thought but two hours would not be that long, " Very well, if you must. I trust you." Moonlight smiled and walked out of the door. She had to figure out what to do for the next two hours.
For the first half hour Moonlight Chaos used her magic to cause trouble everywhere she went. She laughed a few times but it was not the same without Discord. After that she went to visit Cotton Feathers, she did not tell her anything about Discord, she was not ready. Then she stopped by her home for a bit and read her favorite books. Most of them were fantasy and mystery books. She also took a small nap before she went back out again. By the time she woke up she only had half and hour left. Moonlight went outside and started walking around then she bumped into somepony she looked up and saw a purple unicorn with a very neat mane. When the unicorn got up she looked at Moonlight and said,"Do be carfeful darling, you have gotten seriously hurt!" Moonlight shivered a little, but got up and said," Sorry, I guess I was not paying attention, what is your name? I am Moonlight Chaos." For some reason she felt stronger when she used the name Discord gave her. The unicorn stuck out her hoof and said with a sly grin," Well hello Moonlight. My name is Star Dim and trust me when I tell you this darling, if you did not look as amazing as you do now I probably would not even be talking to you right now." Moonlight got a little braver, she had once met a pony like this and knew how to handle them. "Oh, a little feisty are we? Well could you please tell me what you are doing here?" Star Dim smiled, " Nosy are we, I like that about you, well I was in the middle of turning everything dark." Moonlight was a bit confused but said," I can make things dark watch, Moonlight pointed her hoof towards a pink pony. She was sniffing a flower. Moonlights horn glowed for a second and suddenly all the colors from the pink pony turned gray and black. The pony stomped on the flower and walked away. Star Dim nodded," Impressive now let me show you what I can do." Star Dim aimed her horn at the trees a black smoke like fluid appeared from her horn and covered the trees making going through them like walking through a pitch black night. Moonlight smiled and said,"I think it's time you met Discord."
Star Dim looked confused, she had just met Discord and he was talking to Moonlight about her being an Element of Darkness? What did that mean? She looked at Moonlight and said, "Darling could you please tell me what this is all about?" Moonlight looked at Discord, in return he said, "Go ahead my dear, you can tell her." Moonlight nodded and walked up to Star Dim and told her everything. About how Discord created the Elements of Chaos and how six ponies represented each element, Darkness, Fun, Corruption, Power, Confusion, and the Element she represented Chaos. Because it related to Discord in a very strong way, her form slightly changed and she earned her Element of Chaos. She used her magic and showed Star Dim a tiara that had a gem in the middle in the shape of her cutie mark. After hearing all of this Star Dim did not know what to say. Moonlight could see that so she kept talking, "After I bumped into you and saw your magic, I thought you might represent one of the Elements." Star Dim nodded, "So darling, how do we know if it is true or not?" Discord stepped up, "Well that is the thing, each pony has to find that out for his or herself." Star Dim looked annoyed. And said, "So I guess that means I will be staying with you two?" Moonlight looked at Discord again and said, "I guess so, if that's alright with you and Discord." Moonlight gave Discord a concerned look, after a while he said, "I would not mind having some extra company." Star Dim gave Discord a sly smile, and said to Moonlight,"Looks like I'll be here for a while friend." Moonlight laughed.
For the rest of the day Star Dim watched Moonlight and Discord have their fun. At certain times of the day they would go and spread chaos. Moonlight invited Star to join them, and she agreed. While they were using their magic to make fun of ponies, Star would use her magic and make everything dark and depressing. Then she turned to a cheerful orange pony, she smiled and used her magic to turn it's bright orange coat into a dull black. Then she tapped on the pony and ran off. She saw the now grey pony look at a yellow pegasus next to her. She looked annoyed,"What do you think you are doing?" The pegasus looked at the grey pony and said, "I am minding my business maybe you should do the same thing." The grey pony got angry and yelled,"Who do you think you are telling me what to do?! Get lost!" The peagasus looked hurt and ran off. Star Dim then heard laughter, she turned around and saw Discord and Moonlight Chaos laughing very hard. Moonlight said, "That was hilarious! Star Dim that was so funny! You should do that more often." Discord still trying not to laugh so hard, "I agree my dear, that was quite funny! You are quite talented." Star Dim was shocked, nopony had ever liked her talent, not to mention thought it was funny to watch other ponies run off because of her magic. She felt herself grow more powerful, a dark black swirl of magic covered her when it faded she saw a necklace with her cutie mark on it and her mane had grown slightly longer. Moonlight and Discord smiled, " I think we found the Element of Darkness, wouldn't you agree?" Discord nodded, "Indeed my dear, I believe we have." Star Dim looked confused at first but then smiled, she was the Element of Darkness one of the Elements of Chaos.
Star Dim had finally unlocked her Element of Chaos Darkness. She now felt more powerful and stronger. She would visit Moonlight every day, and got to know Discord a little more. They would constantly go out together and use their magic to spread chaos and darkness, and every day they would come back tired, laughing and talking. Moonlight would spend more time with Discord then ever. No matter how long she stayed she would never get bored! He was amazing, he made her laugh, talked to her constantly, and even followed her when she thought she was alone. She stayed with him so often it was almost like she lived with him. One day Discord told Moonlight that she could spend the day with Star Dim. At first Moonlight was nervous, she felt more comfortable and safe with him. But after a while Moonlight agreed. What she did not know was that Discord had a reason for all of this and it was something he would only find out if he was not with her. He hated to do it, but he knew it had to be done. Later the girls headed out to spend some time together and have fun.
For the first part of the day the girls caused trouble they went everywhere watching ponies make themselves look ridiculous! Later Moonlight showed Star Dim her house."Wow...." Star Dim said when she walked in. The place was neat but at the same time completely messed up. She had never seen anything like it. Moonlight showed Star around and they later went to her bedroom where they found books all over the place."Sorry about the mess Star, I have not been up here for a few days." She used her magic to put the books away but kept one and flew up to her bed. Star had a confused look on her face, "What do you mean you have not been in here for a while? It is your house darling!" Moonlight nodded, "I know that but I have been spending so much time with Discord that I..." Moonlight stopped she tried not to think about him, but it was all she could think of. It hurt knowing he would not be with her until the end of the day. Star Dim saw the look on her face, "You like him don't you?" Moonlight quickly turned around and said, "Of course I like him! We are friends." Star gave Moonlight a look and raised an eye, "No darling, I mean you like him more than that don't you?" Moonlight turned away and said, "Maybe." Star Dim stopped. She took her over to her clothing shop, The Black Carousel. She showed Moonlight all the clothes she made so it would make her feel better. "Wow Star! These dresses are amazing!" Star Dim smiled and said, "Thanks. I make them whenever I have time."
After an hour the girls went out. While they were walking Star fell into a pit and a bucket of water was dumped all over her soaking her coat and ruining her mane. "No! My mane... my beautiful mane ruined!" Moonlight heard laughing around the corner of an old house. Star Dim crawled out of the pit and went with Moonlight. They found the laughing was coming from a brown and grey earth pony with a high voice rolling around and laughing. Star Dim trotted over to her and said, "Forgive me for saying this darling, but... That was not very polite!" The pony stopped laughing and said looking at Star's wet mane trying not to laugh she said, "Oh lighten up it was all for fun!" Moonlight gasped.... Fun..... that was one of the Elements Discord had told her about. Moonlight said in a quiet shy voice, "Um.... What is your name? I am Moonlight Chaos and this is Star Dim..." The brown pony walked over to her and looked into her yellow and red eyes, she stuck out her hoof and said, "Nice to meet YOU Moonlight Chaos, my name is Chocolate Pie."
Moonlight felt very cold, she stood up and saw.... darkness, it was everywhere. In the distance she heard a quiet and very familiar voice it was laughing. It sent shivers down her spine. She looked around her it looked like Equestria, only destroyed, nopony was here. She walked around and came to her house, it was very large and very bright. She flew up to her bedroom window and looked inside. Her house was one big room now it was filled with ponies that yellow glowing eyes. Right in the middle of the room was.... her! Only she looked more powerful, bigger, stronger and much scarier. She saw herself walk to the side of the room and saw Discord! He looked very weak and had a look of fear and sadness on his face. Her taller self started talking to Discord and her eyes were glowing very bright. Her other self then gave Discord a very wicked grin. She heard Discord speaking to her other self, he looked very angry and yet very sad. The last thing Moonlight heard him say was, "What have I done to you my Moonlight?" Moonlight saw her older self flapping her wings and called two other ponies forward, it was Star Dim and Chocolate Pie. They both had large fangs, Chocolate Pie had what looked like bat wings and Star's horn had curved and was a dark blue and purple. The last thing Moonlight saw was their eyes glowing red and the other ponies surrounding Discord, while Evil Moonlight gave a loud maniacal laugh. Then darkness....
Moonlight screamed and lifted herself up. She saw Discord sitting in front of her had moved back quickly. They both relaxed and Discord asked her, "What happened?" Moonlight grew tears in her eyes, she flew up and sat next to him and told him everything. Discord was not an expert at emotions but he did know Moonlight and he wanted to help her. "Your power is growing much faster then I thought." Moonlight looked up at him and wiped away her tears and said, "What do you mean, I have always had magic." Discord looked at her and said, "Yes my dear, you do have magic. But your Element of Chaos possesses a very powerful magic that only you can control, and as it grows it will try to corrupt you, turning you into a creature of darkness and power, like what you saw in your nightmare. If you can learn to control it you won't be able to have that happen. But it is something I cannot help you with, it is a power much greater than mine. You are a very special pony Moonlight." Discord sighed and turned towards a window, the sun had just taken the place of the moon. Moonlight said, "But you are the one who showed this to me. You showed me what my magic can do at its full potential. I would give up my magic and wings for you." Discord's eyes widened, nopony was ever this kind to him, not to mention was willing to give anything for him. He looked at Moonlight and started stroking her mane, her mane was very soft and fluffy. Moonlight felt his touch every time, it was so soothing she fell asleep very quickly and knew no matter what happened he would be there with her. Discord smiled as she slowly went to sleep, "This is just the beginning my dear, the beginning of nightmares and power." he snapped his fingers causing blankets to surround Moonlight, putting her into a deep, peaceful sleep. Moonlight did not care if she had a nightmare this time, she would stop her dark self eventually.
Moonlight found herself in darkness once again, only this time she was closer to her home. She flew up to the window and looked inside. She saw her dark self walking towards Discord once again. But this time she was ready, she flew in through the window and stopped in the middle of the room, "Stop! Leave him alone!" Moonlights dark self turned around and saw herself, she was expecting this, "Well, well, well look who finally showed up." Moonlight said once again, "Leave him alone Moonlight." Discord turned towards the Moonlight he remembered and said in a weak voice, "Moonlight, get out of here. She is too powerful." Moonlight turned to him and said, "I am NOT leaving you. Never again." Dark Moonlight laughed, "Aw, so sweet! Well Moonlight I don't go by that name anymore I am the Queen of Chaos and Darkness, I am Dark Chaos!"
Dark Chaos and Moonlights Secret
Dark Chaos laughed, Moonlights first objective was to save Discord. She opened her wings but to pegasi stopped her," Ah, ah no going near him." Dark Chaos said with a smirk. Moonlight knew she could not fly or the pegasi would get her and if she used her magic Dark Chaos could get her. Soon she heard a laugh and Discord quickly turned to her with fear in his eyes, "Moonlight RUN! Go!" This time she had no choice. Moonlight opened her wings and flew out the window Dark Chaos laughed. "And just where do you think you are going?" She opened her wings and followed Moonlight. Finally Moonlight stopped, she had to face Dark Chaos and she was getting tired from flying,"Your mine now! And you can say goodbye to Discord because you will never see him again!" Moonlight gasped. " What are you going to do to him?!" Dark Chaos said in a calm sweet voice, " Nothing much my dear Moonlight, I am just simply going to drain all of his power and use it to grow even more powerful and rule Equestria!" Moonlight could not believe what she was hearing! She knew it was only a dream but it felt so real, then she realized Dark Chaos was her! She may have a more violent side but she still thought like her, " Fine but before you do anything answer for me one question." Dark Chaos grinned and said, " Very well I suppose that is fair. Seeing that you are both about to be drained of your magic." Moonlight lowered her eyes and said,"I want an honest answer." Dark Chaos rolled her eyes and said, "Fine now ask your question." Moonlight grinned and said, "Did you ever love Discord?" Dark Chaos could not believe this, she expected it to be uncalled for but this was a question she least expected, but she promised to tell the truth, and bad or evil she never broke a promise,"Fine, for some time I did OK! I thought he was amazing, I loved his chaos and his personality, he was always there for me. Even when I felt like my heart was breaking. When I had nightmares he comforted me, when I was worried he helped me get over my fears. I did love him." Moonlight saw Dark Chaos changing she shrank just a bit her coat turned back into its dark blue color and she looked beautiful and less frightening. She flew over to her and hugged Moonlight. "Thank you, I knew you could help. You just needed to convince the dark power enough to go. I know we are the same pony but I want to say, you are a very special pony." After Moonlight let go she thought of Discord, all the different memories flooded through her head. Then she saw the darkness fading and bright chaotic colors came back. Both Moonlights flew back to their house and saw the dark magic from everypony was gone. Discord looked stronger again and flew out the window. And he saw to Moonlights a younger one and a slightly older one. He flew towards the older one and hugged her. The older Moonlight returned the hug. Even though it was an older version of herself receiving it she was just glad she would get one in the future. She had stopped the dark magic for now. But it would get stronger and come back but for now she was enjoying herself. Suddenly everything dissolved and she saw something new. It was a world full of chaos and Discord was smiling at her and the two enjoyed all the chaos they could take.
Discord saw Moonlight turning all over the place in her sleep, but after a while he saw her smile, and a cotton candy cloud appeared over his head raining chocolate milk. She was safe..... For Now.

Moonlight was with Chocolate Pie, Discord, and Star Dim. Trying to keep back her dark power made her feel exhausted so the girls came by to see how she was feeling. Eventually the girls got bored, " I am really bored, is there anything we can do?" Star Dim asked. " Yeah I really want to see somepony make fools of themselves." Chocolate Pie said. After she said that Moonlights thoughts went to the first pony she could think of when she thought of that. "I think I have the perfect pony in mind." Discord immediately cut in, " Oh no! You need to relax. After what happened last night and with your power constantly growing I think you need to just stay here." Moonlight gave Discord an annoyed look and then laughed, " Don't worry, it is just a old friend I knew growing up, nothing too big." Discord thought for a while but then agreed.
Moonlight showed them the way to a tall house and said, "My friend is Cotton Feathers, she is a pegasus, I will warn you though she can have a bit of a rude attitude." Star Dim smiled, "I am starting to like her already." Moonlight laughed and knocked on the door, soon a pink and blue pegasus came to the door and welcomed Moonlight with a smile, " Moonlight! How are you? So good to see you! You will not believe what happened last nig....." Cotton Feathers looked at Chocolate Pie and Star Dim and said, "Who are they?" Moonlight said,"Oh, these are my friends, Star Dim, Chocolate Pie...." Moonlight pointed her hoof at Discord and said, "And this is Discord." As soon as Cotton Feathers saw Discord she gave Moonlight a sly grin and said, "Oh, that's fine, come in!" They all slowly walked in a introduced themselves, Cotton Feathers always gave anypony she met a nickname, she called Moonlight Moony, Star Dim Sparkle, Chocolate Pie Coco, and Discord she kept, she really liked him and asked Moonlight, "Is he the guy we saw in your book Moony?" Moonlight nodded, Chocolate Pie spoke up, "Moonlight told us you have a way of making ponies humiliate themselves." Cotton Feathers smiled and said, "Oh trust me Coco, I can do much more than that." Cotton Feathers led everyone outside and asked Moonlight for a scarf, using her magic Moonlight got her a bright pink scarf. Cotton Feathers tossed the scarf into a deep pit of mud and told everyone to watch. Soon a very neat and clean stallion came trotting by, Cotton Feathers stopped him and put him under her charms, "Excuse me sir, but could you do me a small favor?" The neat pony blushed and said," Of course madam, what can I do for you?" Cotton Feathers went completely dramatic as she said,"Well you see I tripped and my scarf landed in a pile of mud! I can't live without it! Could you ever be so kind as to get it for me?" The stallion started to sweat and said, "I am terribly sorry, it's just....I do not like to get my coat dirty and I...." Cotton Feathers pretended to look hurt and said, "I understand sir, I guess I shall have to find another brave stallion to fetch for me, somepony who wants to impress a lady and..." The neat pony I interrupted and said, "Stop! I will do it alright! I would hate to see a beautiful lady such as yourself to be unhappy." Cotton Feathers smiled, "Oh thank you sir!" The pony took a deep breath and slowly walked into the mud. It felt disgusting wriggling through the mud. The pony finally got to the scarf, grabbed it and gave to Cotton Feathers. As soon as Cotton Feathers took it he ran out of sight screaming, "EWWWWW! GET IT OFF! GROSS DISGUSTING MUD!" Cotton Feathers did this all day making them all laugh. When Moonlight said goodbye and everypony went home Chocolate Pie told her before leaving, "That is an awesome friend you have." Discord nodded and added, "Yes she seemed very powerful, even without magic."
That night Discord watched Moonlight sleep again. This time she looked stronger and appeared nervous, after a while she looked very sad and began crying. But once he touched her, her face brightened and did not look as sad. He began to feel very strange and wondered if Moonlight had anything to do with this feeling. A connection was happening but to what Discord did not know.
Nightmares and Discord filled Dreams
Moonlight was scared. Only two weeks ago she had banished the dangerous magic that was trying to take her, and yet it had returned and was even stronger this time. She was face to face with Dark Chaos once again. Only this time she looked even more terrifying then last time, once again Discord was very close only he looked very scared, weak, and worried, this scared Moonlight more than Dark Chaos did. Dark Chaos said,"Finally I can finish you off, and Discord is not here not help you." She aimed her horn at Discord, and trapped him inside a force field. He pushed against the walls but could not break through, Moonlight tried hitting it with her magic but it would not budge. Dark Chaos laughed, "Now, are you ready to be destroyed?" Moonlight was just about ready to give up when she heard a familiar voice say, "I think it is you who will be destroyed." Moonlight turned around and saw Discord.
Moonlight was feeling very warm, her magic was causing her skin to turn a crimson red, and anypony who was close enough could hear a sizzling noise. She was flapping her wings but was not flying. Discord was getting nervous, he touched Moonlights head with his lion paw, he was now able to see if she was having nightmares. The sight he saw was terrifying, he saw Moonlight, an older and more scary version of her, and himself. He looked powerless, and nervous. Moonlights darker side laughed and trapped the Discord from her dream in a force field. No matter what they tried they could not get him free. Nightmare or not Discord needed to help her, as soon as he heard Moonlights dark side say, "Now, are you ready to be destroyed?" He said, "I think it is you who will be destroyed." Discord saw Moonlight turn around when she saw him she smiled. Discord flew over to her and said, "Are you feeling alright?" Moonlight sighed and said, "Now that you are here, I feel better." Discord smiled and turned towards Moonlights dark self, before he did anything he heard Moonlight say, "Watch out, Dark Chaos is extremely powerful. I was able to defeat her once but now she is even stronger." Discord aimed his claw towards Dark Chaos and dug into her inside and separated her dangerous form, from her normal form. While the normal Moonlight flew towards her younger form and watched Discord. Dark Chaos tried to fly away but Discord held on to her tail tightly. Dark Chaos knew that this Discord was younger and more powerful then the one she weakened over time. She glared into his yellow and red eyes as he said, "I have the perfect place for you." Dark Chaos covered her hoofs over her face as Discord gave her a smirk and snapped his fingers, an image of a very bright, colorful place full of happiness and love. Dark Chaos said in a nervous voice,"You wouldn't dare." Discord raised an eye, amused. "Oh wouldn't I?" Dark Chaos struggled and tried to move, but Discord held on. He gently tipped her in and Dark Chaos fell through the picture. Hundreds of birds and rabbits swarmed over cuddling with her. Dark Chaos yelled, "NO! GET AWAY! NOOOO!" Discord made a needle and thread appear and stitched up the portal. He snapped his fingers causing the needle and thread to disappear. Both Moonlights sighed and said, "Amazing in every way." They both looked at each other and laughed. The force field surrounding the weaker Discord disappeared and he flew up to his younger self. Both Moonlight's and Discord's looked at one another. One of the Discord's spoke up and said, " How are we going to know who is who?" Both Moonlight's giggled. The Moonlight that was taller and looked slightly older flew over to the Discord that looked like he had just been in a major fight. "Your mine silly!" The older Discord laughed and hugged her. The younger Discord looked at the younger Moonlight and said, "Looks like your mine!" Moonlight smiled and said, "I guess so!" She flew over to him and pinned him to the ground and used her feathers to tickle him. Discord quickly lifted her off him and said, "Nice try missy." Then the older Discord and Moonlight flew over them and smiled. Then they both flew away. Discord looked at Moonlight and said, "I think that is enough for one night, don't you agree my dear?" Moonlight nodded and said, "I think so." Discord snapped his fingers and he came out of Moonlight's dream and Moonlight woke up. Moonlight looked at him smiled, then flew out the window and rested on a cotton candy cloud. She looked down to see if anypony was watching, when she saw nopony she got to work, while the moon and stars where up she used her magic to create chaotic shapes and patterns with the stars. Suddenly Discord appeared next to her and said, "And just what do you think you are doing?" Moonlight looked at him and said, "I am doing what I do every time the moon and stars come out." Discord looked confused and said, "And what would that be?" Moonlight laughed and said, "Shaping the stars and clouds into different crazy patterns." Discord saw her using her magic to shape the stars into different shapes. One of them looked like a cotton candy cloud raining chocolate milk. Discord watched her create different shapes all night, it was just amazing watching her enjoying herself. As long as she was here even the most boring thing could become filled with chaos and disorder. He continued to watch until they both fell asleep on the soft, sweet tasting cloud.
The Element of Power Cotton Feathers
Moonlight woke up slowly. She was still on the cotton candy cloud when she looked at the sky the sun quickly took the moons place. She looked behind her and saw Discord still sleeping. She smiled, she figured he would still be tired after all that happened last night. She laid down and looked over the cloud and saw Cotton Feathers walking towards her. Moonlight flew down towards her and Cotton Feathers said to her in a slightly loud voice, "Hey Moonlight! What are you....." Moonlight put a hoof over Cottons mouth. "Shhhh! Discord is still sleeping. I do not want to wake him up. He did a lot for me yesterday." Cotton nodded and then gave a sly grin and replied, " So what did you two do?" Moonlights eyes widened,"Oh nothing much! But it took a lot of his power so...." She stopped, there was nothing much she could say without making her feel nervous. Cotton Feathers saw the look on her face and took her right wing and dragged Moonlight closer and said in a sweet voice,"I understand, but only because you are my friend. After he wakes up do you want to come with me to Coco's place? She told me last night she made a new kind of sweet that she wanted us to try." Moonlight decided that was fair so she gave a small nod, then she flew back up to the cloud, Cotton followed her, she figured Moonlight could use company. When she landed on the cloud she realized it was made of cotton candy. Cotton looked ahead and saw Moonlight looking at Discord. "Is this cloud made out of cotton candy Moony? Would it be alright if I tried some?" Moonlight nodded but did not turn away from Discord. Cotton Feathers was amazed, Moonlight was close to him and seemed thrilled just stand next to him, Cotton Feathers slowly asked her a question that she thought would never ask anypony. "Do you like him?" Moonlights eyes shrank and she looked nervous still not taking her eyes off of Discord said, "Of course, we're friends." Cotton Feathers gave Moonlight a look to show her she was not amused. "No Moonlight I mean, do you REALLY like him." Moonlight slowly lifted her head and stared into Cottons eyes in a way that almost frightened her and slowly relaxed and said, "Maybe a little...." Cotton Feathers did not look shocked. She just motioned for Moonlight to sit next to her, once she did Cotton talked with her all morning.
When Discord woke up he saw Moonlight talking to Cotton Feathers on the other side of the cloud. Discord shut one eye and a sly grin appeared on his face. He slowly moved his tail to the other side of the cloud and wrapped it around Moonlight after five seconds he pulled her over to him making her shriek, and Cotton's eyes widened. As soon as Moonlight saw what happened she laughed quietly. "And just what were you two doing?" Discord said, Moonlight said in a nervous voice, "Um... we were just having a small conversation. I am really sorry if we woke you." Discord pulled Moonlight closer and gave her a very stern look but then laughed. Moonlight looked confused but then giggled. Discord put Moonlight down. Moonlight was nervous to ask but said in a weak voice, "Cotton Feathers told me that Chocolate Pie made a new kind of candy and wondered if we could visit her and try some of it, is that alright with you?" Cotton Feathers flew over to her and looked up at Discord and said, "Chocolate told me about this last night, if you don't want her to go, I could just tell her." Discord pulled Moonlight over to him again and said, "You don't have to feel nervous. If you wish to go, that is fine with me." Moonlight looked up at Discord, she did not know why but she felt really happy. She hugged Discord and said, "Thank you." She flew off the cloud, while Discord and Cotton Feathers just remained on the cloud frozen. After a while Moonlight called to Cotton, "Lets go Cotton! Those treats are not going to eat themselves!" Cotton Feathers looked at Discord and then followed her to visit Chocolate Pie. Discord still stayed on the cloud, speechless. Nopony had ever hugged him before. This pony never stopped amazing him. He glanced over the clouds and saw Moonlight talking to Cotton Feathers, she looked so happy.
Chocolate Pie greeted Moonlight and Cotton Feathers when they knocked on her door when they came inside they found Star Dim sitting near a tray with eight strips of candy lying down in equal rows. After Moonlight and Cotton sat down Chocolate Pie passed down the tray and said, "This candy is called Twisted Taffy. For now it just has flavor, but the next time I make some if you give somepony a piece, it will give them bad luck and will be full of crazy fun!" All the other girls laughed when they heard this. It sounded so funny! When they bit into the candy, it was very chewy, and full of flavor, each color on the candy had it's own crazy flavor. Moonlight said, "This is delicious! How did you figure out how to make this?" Chocolate walked over to her and said, "Well, actually Discord helped me." When Moonlight heard this she looked surprised and said,"When did he help? I don't remember him telling me he was going to see you." Chocolate said, "Well, when he came it was late, he said you were sleeping and did not want to wake you, so I offered him to help me with my candy, in the end we came up with a recipe for this candy. I wanted to see what you girls would think of the flavor, if you liked it then it would not seem suspicious to other ponies. After Discord left Cotton came by and I told her if she could ask Star Dim and you if it was possible for you to come. I wanted you to try it as soon as possible!" Moonlight nodded, it was very tasty. After eating all the candy Chocolate Pie brought out another batch, just as Cotton Feathers was about to take one Chocolate stopped her, "Don't touch! These have magic in them. One bite and your world will be so crazy you will go insane!" Cotton backed away slowly and said, "Ok, maybe later." Chocolate Pie laughed and rolled on the floor. When she got up she said, "Should we try this out on somepony?" The girls looked at each other and nodded. When they went out they found an orange and brown pegasus talking to a young filly. "He is perfect." Chocolate Pie said, she handed Moonlight a piece of the Twisted Taffy and gave her a small push, before Moonlight could say anything she was four feet away from the stallion. Slowly she took a deep breath, she knew this stallion and was nervous, but she walked over and said, "Excuse me sir? My friend has made a new kind of candy. Would you like to try some?" The stallion looked at her but took the candy, just as he lifted it towards his mouth he remembered who she was and said, "Wait a minute, I remember you! You're the pony with the dark magic and makes the world impossible to live in! Go away, leave me alone!" Moonlight was just about to leave when Cotton Feathers flew in front of the stallion and turned to her charming side and said, "Sir, so sorry to bother you, my friend can be very silly." Cotton looked at Moonlight and motioned for her to go with the others and watch. Then she turned to the stallion, he was frozen, Never before had he seen such a beautiful young mare before, and she was so calm and gentle. He said, "That is quite alright, um what can I do for a beautiful young mare such as yourself?" Cotton looked flattered and said, "Like my friend said, we have another who just made this delicious candy you hold. And she asked us to have everypony taste it and see if they enjoy it so she knows if it is safe to make more." The stallion nodded and put the candy in his mouth, after a while he said, "This IS quite delicious what is it?" Just then the stallions eyes had many swirly colors, Cotton grinned and said, "It is Twisted Taffy. The candy that drives you INSANE!" She laughed as the stallion began seeing many colors and things floating everywhere. He kept bumping into things, and was screaming, "Make it stop! It's too crazy!" He eventually ran around until he fell into a pond and water soaked him everywhere. He was splashing and yelling like he had seen the scariest thing known to ponydom. As Cotton headed back she realized she had power, she had an ability that allowed her to do anything she wanted them to do, and she wanted to help her friends with this ability. She stopped and began changing her mane grew longer and she received a necklace that looked just like her cutie mark, a star. When it stopped she headed back to her friends, Moonlight looked at her and said, "Looks like you do have the power I always said you had. Because you represent the Element of Power." Cotton smiled. All day they each took a turn trying the candy on somepony and they laughed all day. Eventually they all went home and Moonlight went to see Discord, she had not seem him since this morning.
When Moonlight saw light on she knew something was not right as she got closer to a window she saw all her friends talking to Discord! She did not want to be seen so she listened to their conversation, she heard Cotton speak first, "I know Moonlight likes to enjoy everything as she walks so she won't be here for a while." Then she heard Discord he sounded nervous, "Good, I do not not want her to know about this. Her magic is getting stronger, though I knew this happen something else wants this power. It has been trying to take her power and magic away. I do not want this to happen. She has been constantly having terrible nightmares. Some of them have been so serious I have had to go into her mind to help." Moonlight saw the other ponies look worried, she hated putting so much pressure on them, and she hated seeing Discord nervous even more. She saw Star Dim say, "Maybe you could put a spell on her so she would not have nightmares so often." Moonlight heard Discord say, "I do not want to do that, something could go wrong, and I do not want to use magic on her." Moonlight then heard Discord say words she feared he would say, "Maybe she should not see us for a while, and give her a while to have her magic adjust." She saw her friends nod. Moonlight could not believe this. Her friends were willing not to be able to see her for a long time so she could learn to control her magic, and she was shocked Discord was even willing to do this! Moonlight for the first time ever since she met Discord, began to cry. She flew away quickly but not quickly enough for her friends to notice. They all raced outside to see Moonlight fly away. Discord looked at them and said, "Find her, hurry!" They all nodded, Cotton Feathers took to the sky while Chocolate Pie began to follow her running out into the distance. Discord felt scared, the one pony that understood him was gone, he began to regret everything he said. He did not care how powerful her magic was. He wanted to see her again. Cotton Featers stoped and called to Star Dim, but she did not listen. She walked towards Discord and said, "Before I leave there is something you need to know about Moonlight." Cotton Feathers and Chocolate looked at each other, they knew excactly what she was talking about. "Is she really going to tell him?" Chocolate asked. "He needs to know." Star said. She took a deep breath and let everything slip out.
When Star Dim finished Discord said, "How long has she felt this way?" Cotton Feathers said, " A while, but we'll find her." Cotton Feathers flew off while Star Dim and Chocolate followed behind. They were going to fix everything. Moonlight's secret had been revealed.
Moonlight was heartbroken. She did not care where she went just as long as she could find a place to think. She could feel many tears fall down her face and drizzle in the wind as she flew. She could not stop thinking about what had happened only minutes ago. Discord was talking to her friends and they suggested that they should stay away from her for a while just so she could focus on controlling her power. Moonlight had gotten so upset that she had flew off in anger. Suddenly she heard thunder, rain began to pour from the sky. But this was not chocolate milk like it usually was, it was water. Moonlight saw lightning streak across the sky in a blazing flash. It was almost as if the world was crying too. The thunder groaned, it sounded closer, suddenly the lightning flashed and it was very close. In it's bright light Moonlight saw.... Cotton Feathers. She saw her point a hoof at her and could barely make out her saying, "I see her! Over there." Cotton flew closer to her, Moonlight panicked.... friend or not she wanted to be alone. In the darkness she saw her getting closer, Moonlight quickly flapped her wings. She flew past trees and over stones and around corners. Eventually she found a small cave and dashed into it. She ducked behind the wall, she quickly heard Cotton Feathers swish by and the sound of racing hooves go by. When they were gone Moonlight breathed out slowly, just to make sure they were gone she checked outside. When she saw nopony she went inside the caves. Her mane and coat were dripping wet, and she was cold and scared. But Moonlight knew what to do in a time like this. She gathered small sticks and stones in the cave and made a small fire. She quickly dried up and got warm and cozy. She found a small pool near the side of the cave where she made a glass appear with her magic. She saw little squirrels drinking the water so she figured it must be safe to drink. After a while she got very tired and went outside, using her magic she formed a bubble around her so she would not get wet again. She found some thick leaves and used her magic to weave them together to create a blanket and a tiny pillow. Moonlight brought them both into the cave and laid them near the fire. She did not want to get too close for she had a fear of them burning. She slowly laid down and as she fell asleep she thought what her friends must be feeling like. What was Discord feeling like? Slowly with many tears in her eyes Moonlight fell asleep.
Cotton Feathers and her friends had been searching for an hour and Moonlight was nowhere to be seen. She flew down to where her friends were and said, "I still cannot find her. Have you girls spotted anything." Chocolate Pie was starting to cry and her mane was flattening like a deflated balloon. "We are never going to find her! I feel like such a mean meanie pants!" Star Dim walked over to her and said, "It's ok darling. We all feel bad. And we are going to find her, right?" Star Dim looked at Cotton Feathers and then pointed towards Chocolate. Cotton said, "Right! Don't worry Cocoa we will find her. I'll try to search higher." Just then they all heard thunder Cotton Feathers glanced around in a nervous way but bravely flew up past the trees, then in the distance she could make out a figure, when the lightning flashed Cotton got a better look. It was Moonlight! She could see a terrified look in her eyes and tears were streaming down her face. Cotton noticed the look on Moonlights face, just as Cotton saw her, she saw Cotton. Thinking quickly Cotton said, "I see her! Over there!" Cotton looked down and saw Star Dim and Chocolate Pie following her Cotton raced towards Moonlight, she saw Moonlight panic, then just as she was three feet away Moonlight raced off, Cotton knew it must be scary having sompony chase her, but they needed to get her. They needed her, Discord needed her. She saw Moonlight race over and under trees, past rocks and over streams, she was very fast, Cotton had known this since they were both fillies. Suddenly Moonlight raced past a corner of a giant rock wall, when Cotton went by she could not see her any more but she continued to fly, she heard Chocolate and Star racing behind her after a while they stopped. Cotton flew down and said, "I lost her, we need to split up and find her if you find her give the others some kind of signal." Star and Chocolate nodded they both went different paths into the forest. They were going to find their friend at any cost.
Discord was very worried. Usually he did not fuss over these kind of things, but this time it mattered. From the time Discord had come across Moonlight he felt she was different from everypony. He hated seeing her upset and now he felt awful. The one pony that understood him and knew what he felt like was gone. It hurt. He thought of when he first met her, she seemed quite shy but at the same time was not frightened by him, she talked to him as if she had known him for years when they really had only known each other for a month. She felt uncomfortable leaving him and spent so much time with him, she was the only thing he had been thinking about for the past few weeks. He had told the others to look for her, though they had only been gone an hour it felt like a million years. After a while he heard a deep sound, Discord looked outside and saw rain pouring down from the sky, the clouds looked dark and angry, the thunder sounded deep and groaning, the lightning flashed as if it was terrified and wicked. He also saw the sun quickly set and the moon took its place. It was hard to tell the difference even with the sun, the sky was so dark and grey that with the moon the only difference was it was almost black outside. A single tear fell down Discord's face as he said, " What have I done to you, my dear Moonlight?"
Nightmares of Stone and Moonlight
Moonlight was trapped. An invisible shield was keeping her from moving, she saw two alicorns, one was white and had a rainbow colored mane, the second one looked smaller and was made of dark blue colors. Moonlight was confused, she thought she was the only one, she saw them approaching Discord! The taller one said, "Play time is over for you Discord." Moonlight was shocked, what was this alicorn talking about? She watched the conversation between the two go on for a while until the two alicorns pulled out six colorful looking gemstones. She watched as Discord said, "Oh! What have you got there?" The older alicorn said, "The Elements of Harmony." The younger one said, "And with them we shall defeat you!" Moonlight needed to stop this! Just then the shield then had disappeared! Moonlight ran as fast as she could to stop them but it was to late, she saw a powerful rainbow beam shoot out of the gems and turned Discord to stone. Moonlight was shocked, who would do this! She stopped dead in her tracks and looked down, she was hurt. She was scared and alone, she wanted her friends she wanted Discord back. Moonlight began to cry, through her tear stained eyes she could see ponies circling the statue of Discord and the two alicorns. They all seemed..... happy. Moonlight did not want to watch this anymore. She felt something touch her and then her world went black.
Star Dim hated walking in dirt and mud, but she knew her friend meant more. Just then she fell off a small cliff and fell into a pond. Star Dim was getting very annoyed when she saw a cave up ahead and heard a small noise, she slowly walked forward. At least it would be dry in there. When she got inside she used her magic to levitate all the water off of her mane and coat and splashed it all into the pond. She walked ahead and saw a small fire, she did not know why it was there but for now she raced over and got warm very quickly, she looked ahead and gasped, there on the other side of the fire she could just barely make out somepony on the other side......Moonlight. Star walked around the fire quickly and looked down, Moonlight was lying on the floor of the cave she had what looked like a bunch of leaves woven together wrapped around her. She looked sad, Star could hear small gasps of breath and crying. She looked near Moonlights eyes and saw a thin stream of tears flowing down her face. Every few seconds she would twitch and move. Star Dim walked to the edge of the cave, Cotton had told them if one of them found Moonlight to give the others a signal, the first thing she could think of was light. She used her magic to create a black light and swirled it around in the sky, she hoped the others would notice.
Chocolate Pie was sad, she missed her friend. After they had all split up Chocolate found a quiet place to cry. Her mane had become very flat, compared to her usual springy mane. It was like her energy had been stored up in a balloon, and now, it popped. After crying for half an hour she figured she had better start looking for Moonlight. She looked under small pebbles and inside streams. She even tried asking the fish if they had seen her, but they would all shake their heads and swim away. After a while of that Chocolate was ready to cry again when she saw light. It was a black swirling light, not very far from where she was. She figured it must be Star Dim, that meant she had found Moonlight! Chocolate Pie's mane sprang up quickly and said, "Hang on Moonlight! I'm coming!"
Cotton Feathers was getting tired, she had been flying for hours and she still had not found any trace of Moonlight. She had searched inside the thickest clouds, in the trees, and any other high spot Moonlight could be hiding in. Cotton stopped and rested on a cloud for a bit. She was tired and very sad, Moonlight had been her friend since they were both fillies. Every day Cotton would go to flight school and come home showing Moonlight all the knew skills she learned. She felt awful knowing she made her friend feel so bad. She remembered how Moonlight was always fascinated by what their world was like. How it was always mixed up and everything was upside down. Thinking of Moonlight made Cotton cry. Just then she saw a black trail of light in the sky. It swirled and made many crazy patterns. It must be Star Dim. She found Moonlight! Cotton jumped off the cloud and flew towards the black trail.
Discord had been trying to stay calm. This was the most he had ever worried about anything! He decided that if he could not find her then maybe he could still go into her mind and find out where she was. He disappeared quickly, when he looked around at first nothing looked different. Had the spell done nothing, he looked in the distance and he saw Moonlight. But she looked like she could not move, Discord looked ahead of her and saw himself! Two alicorns walked by and turned towards the other Discord. He did not know who these ponies were and he could not here what they were saying. But after a while the two alicorns pulled out six colorful gemstones. They cast a spell causing them to glow and shoot out a rainbow beam, Discord saw Moonlight trying to move as if something was wrong. Then he saw it, Moonlight was trapped inside a shield. The rainbow trailed off right towards the other Discord and turned him to stone! Discord could not believe this. After watching he saw Moonlight break free and rush towards the statue. After she stopped, he saw her looking around as other ponies came towards the two alicorns and clapping their hooves. Moonlight began crying. He knew she was probably scared out of her mind. He went over to her and touched her, as he did she fell to the ground. This way she would not have to see anything. He snapped his claw and vanished.
Star Dim was getting tired, she was just about to give up when she saw Chocolate Pie running through the trees. She looked at the sky and saw Cotton Feathers flying down. When they came close enough she stopped and said, "Finally, I thought I was going to die!" Chocolate giggled and said, "Did you find Moonlight? Did you? Did you? Did yo-" Cotton shoved her hoof against Chocolate's mouth and turned to Star. Then Star Dim said, "In here but you have to be very quiet." They followed her in to the cave where the found the fire, Star Dim pushed them away from it and said, "She is right there but be very quiet darling." Chocolate was the first to notice her wet eyes and said, "What is wrong? She looks like something awful happened." Star Dim said, "I do not exactly know why she is still crying, perhaps she is having a nightmare." Cotton shook her head and said, "Oh please! Nothing scares Moony! She may act shy at times around ponies, but seriously.... I have seen stand up to and calm a manticore!" Star Dim gave Cotton an annoyed look and said, "Then it must have something to do with us." After a while of just staring at Moonlight watching her sleep Star Dim said, "I am going to get Discord." Star jumped up and used her magic, a flash appeared and Star disappeared. After fifteen seconds went by and Star Dim returned with Discord. Chocolate said, "Wow! That was really fast." Star rolled her eyes and walked over to Moonlight and pointed at her with her hoof slowly. Discord walked over to Moonlight and gently touched her. Surprisingly Moonlight stopped crying and appeared calmer, her breathing began to get slower, and she even smiled a bit. Discord snapped his fingers and brought them all back. The girls sat on the floor and waited.
Moonlight Chaos was lost. In darkness. Alone. It seemed like only a moment ago she had just watched two Alicorns turn Discord into stone. She felt something touch her and now she was in a world of darkness. Moonlight tried moving around but it seemed like she was not getting anywhere. Then she saw a small light, glowing in the distance. She took a step towards it and the light grew brighter, Moonlight ran toward it. Soon she was covered in it's brightness. It was so bright Moonlight had to cover her eyes. When the light faded and Moonlight opened her eyes she saw Star Dim. She was getting closer. Moonlight was getting scared, but then Star Dim walked right past her! When she saw where she was heading Moonlight noticed that Star was looking at her, still asleep. Moonlight saw Star Dim walk to the edge of the cave, she used her magic to make a black light appear from her horn. Moments later Cotton Feathers and Chocolate Pie came running towards her. Then the three of them walked towards her. Chocolate pointed towards Moonlights face and that is when Moonlight noticed she was crying. Not only in her sleep but here too. She wanted her friends, she felt upset she tried to run and hide from them. Then Star Dim disappeared, she returned after a while with Discord. Moonlight was now scared and nervous. What was he going to do? Was he mad at her? Was he going to leave her? But she saw him walk over to her and gently touch her. Even though she was sleeping she could still feel it. She had missed him, and his touch was so soothing she stopped crying, and calmed down, she smiled slightly and laid down. All her nightmares would soon be over.
Moonlight opened one eye, everything was so bright and she could not see clearly. She opened the other eye and got up. She could make out three other ponies in front of her, it was her friends. She could just barely make out somepony saying, "Girls look! Moonlight is awake!" Moonlight could have sworn that was Chocolate, but that did not matter. She sat up and let her eyes adjust. Once she could see she looked at Chocolate, Cotton, and Star Dim. They all looked amazed. Star Dim stood up and said, "Moonlight darling, we are sorry, are you feeling alright?" Moonlight just stared at them for a while and then slowly said, "I..... I feel fine, what are you all doing here?" Chocolate immediately spoke up, "We wanted to make sure you were ok. When we found you, you were crying and looked sad." Moonlight turned to Star again and said, "Where is Discord? Is he here?" Star Dim nodded and said, "Of course he is darling. Upstairs." She pointed a hoof at the ceiling and continued, "He has been waiting all day, after we found you he said he needed to be alone for a while." Moonlight nodded and slowly headed towards the stairs, they went around all the way up and made it seem like it would never end. When she got up she searched the hallway until she came to a very familiar door, she took a deep breath and slowly pushed the door open. Like her house this room was turned completely upside down, furniture was floating everywhere, there were many cotton candy clouds and the floor looked like a giant chess board. In one corner of the room was Discord. After a while he looked up and saw Moonlight. At first he looked surprised but after a while he said, "Good to see you are better. I need to talk to you alone."
It had only been two days since Moonlight came back, but she was acting different. She never went anywhere without Discord. She did not like being left alone without Discord so wherever he went she would quietly follow. She spent most of the time with him and almost never left the house. When her friends visited her or talked to her she acted very shy. She would hardly talk and when she did it sounded so quiet they would have to be completely silent to hear her. They did not care though, hey were just glad to have her back.
Star Dim was walking with Chocolate Pie to visit Moonlight. They were talking about what had they saw two days ago. "I still cannot believe she has not told us yet." Star Dim said, Chocolate looked confused and said, "What? That she is having a party!?" Star gave Chocolate Pie an annoyed look and said, "No darling, about her feelings for Discord. Even though we heard her say it she still has to tell us eventually." Chocolate giggled and said, "Oh! I knew that silly! I just cannot wait to see her!" Star Dim said in a confused tone, "But Chocolate darling, you just saw her last night." Chocolate said, "I know! It's been soooooooooo long! You have not seen her since she came back! That's like..... forever!" Star Dim smiled and shook her head. Soon they came towards the door. Chocolate gave it multiple knocks. Eventually Moonlight opened the door and said quietly, "Oh, hi girls. Come on in." She slowly opened the door and let the two in. She went up the stairs and across the hall into a large bedroom next to Discord's. It looked very similar to his except for the fact this bedroom was slightly smaller. Moonlight said to them in a slightly louder, cheerful voice, "Isn't it amazing? I spent most of my time here so Discord gave me my own bedroom!" She began flying around the room and said, "I used my magic to bring some of my books and furniture here. I also took most of the design for my room of of Discord's room. It is amazing." Then she dropped back down and looked nervous again. Star Dim said, "That is wonderful news darling. But what about your house. Are you still going to stay there?" Moonlight said quietly, "Um.... Well I found another use for it.... and I am..." Moonlight stopped, Chocolate Pie cut in to try and cheer her up. "That sounds fun. Where is Discord anyway?" Moonlight smiled a little and pointed her hoof up. Then all three of them looked at the ceiling and saw Discord hovering above them. Star Dim gasped and said, "Moonlight what is he doing up there!" Discord and Moonlight both laughed, then Moonlight said after, "He is just watching. Every once in a while he does it. Just to make sure I am fine, safe, comfortable. I actually enjoy it, you don't have to worry." Discord dropped down from the ceiling and on to Moonlight's bed and said, "Well now that you have company I think I let you chat for a while. If you need anything just let me know!" Moonlight nodded, hugged him and let him fly out the door. Just then the floor began to shake and then they heard a loud noise. The girls looked outside and saw a grey pegasus with a mane full of colors that reminded them of Discord. The pegasus twisted and flipped into the air, then she began flying in circles and created a stream of yellow, red and brown into a colorful spiral. Chocolate Pie and Star Dim eyes began flowing with swirls, when Moonlight looked at them she laughed, they looked so confused, like they had been put under one of Discord's spells. But nothing seemed to be happening to Moonlight no matter how long she stared at the swirling circle. Eventually the pegasus flew towards them and said, "Hey! Who are you guys!" Moonlight did not want to talk so she got rid of the spell on Star Dim and Chocolate Pie. The pegasus looked amazed and said, "Wow, that was awesome! Now are you going to tell me who you are, or are we going to have to do this the hard way?" The pegasus slapped her hooves together getting ready to punch somepony. Star Dim stepped forward and said, "Calm down darling! There is no reason to get all worked up over nothing. I am Star Dim and...." Chocolate Pie quickly cut in, "Hi! I am Chocolate Pie! And Star is right! There is no reason to be a big mean meanie pants! So what is YOUR name?" The pegasus said and a cool voice, "Name is Discorded Swirls, and no offense but I am twenty percent cooler than the both of you." Discorded Swirls looked at Moonlight and said, "Who is that?" Chocolate said, "This is Moonlight Chaos! Our friend." Moonlight looked nervous and backed away. Discorded Swirls said, "What is wrong with her?" Star Dim said, "It is a long story darling." Discorded Swirls said, "Oh a story! I love stories I got some time then later I can practice." Chocolate said, "Practice. What do you practice for?" Discorded Swirls said, "The Wonderbolts! They are the best flyers in the land. And hope to some day join them! Uh now story please but first can I come in and sit down? I am kind of exhausted." The three looked at Moonlight, after a while she said in a quiet voice, "Um... Sure, you can come in." Discorded Swirls said, "What did she say? I could hardly hear that!" Star said, "Discorded Swirls darling, she said yes so come in here and sit down." The pegasus quickly flew in through the window and sat down she looked around the room and said, "Wow, awesome room! Now story please?" Moonlight quickly left the room and went downstairs to see Discord while Star Dim and Chocolate Pie began telling the story.
Discord was just about to go upstairs when he heard hoof steps coming down them. When they got louder and the pony got closer he realized it was only Moonlight. Discord said to her, "What are you doing down here? Where are Star Dim and Chocolate Pie?" Moonlight walked over to a couch and sat down and said, "We met a pegasus just a moment ago, she wanted to know who we all were, so know the girls are telling her. I did not want to listen so I came down here to rest for a bit." Discord walked over to her and said, "Would it be alright if I joined you?" Moonlight nodded and put her head down. When both of them were comfortable Discord began stroking Moonlight's mane. It so soothing and gentle it eventually lulled her to sleep.
The Element of Corruption Discorded Swirls
"So, do you get it?" Chocolate Pie said. She and Star Dim had just finished telling Discorded Swirls about everything. Who they were and how they were together, why Moonlight was so shy, what the Elements of Chaos were, and who Discord was. The grey pegasus began laughing and rolling all over the floor. "You guys are so funny! This is the most hilarious story I have ever heard!" Chocolate Pie began giggling and joined her and was kicking and laughing. Star said, "You two are acting ridiculous. I am going to check on Moonlight. Oh and Chocolate darling, try not to hurt yourself." Chocolate nodded and continued laughing. When Star Dim shut the door she headed downstairs. When she came down she saw Moonlight sleeping while Discord was next to her. Star Dim walked over and said, "Is she okay?" Discord turned to her and said, "She is fine. A little exhausted that's all." Star Dim said, "It must be incredible having great power like that. Chocolate is busy laughing with Discorded Swirls the pegasus we just met." Discord looked at her and said, "Is that so? Moonlight told me about that. Who is she?" Star slowly began to explain and when she finished. She said, "Should we test her?" Discord considered it and said, "Why not? If she fails, do whatever you want with her. I think I will stay here." Star Dim nodded and went back upstairs into Moonlights bedroom where Discorded Swirls and Chocolate Pie were still laughing. She stepped up to Discorded Swirls and said, "Let's go were going to give you a little test." Chocolate giggled and said, "Come on Swirly! It will be fun." Discorded Swirls shrugged and walked with Star and Chocolate. When they got downstairs and were close to the door Discorded Swirls looked at Discord and said, "Wow."
"Who was that?" Discorded asked. Star Dim said, "That was Discord darling." Chocolate said, "Yeah! We told you we knew the Spirit and King of Chaos. But you did not believe us." Discorded replied, "So does that mean Moonlight is like, the Queen of Chaos." Chocolate and Star looked at each other and then Star said, "You could say that. Her magic is like his. It is chaotic and extremely powerful. So I guess she is." They all stopped and saw a group of ponies Discorded said, "What are we doing?" Chocolate said, "We are here to have fun!" Discorded said, "What do you mean." Star Dim pointed at a white pegasus. She used her magic to create a black cloud around her. Then Chocolate made a bunch of toys and pranking supplies and walked into the cloud and began throwing everything she could at the pegasus. When she came out she said, "Oh wait until you see her! Some my best work." When the cloud cleared they could all see the pegasus, her white coat was covered in patches of paint, her mane and tail were soaking wet, balloons were tied to her wings, and she had scribbles drawn all over her face. They all laughed. Discorded said, "I did not think you would be a prankster Chocolate Pie. And that was the funniest one yet!" Star Dim said, "Well darling what can you do?" Discorded said, "Please. I am awesome, this will be a piece of cake!" Chocolate quickly spoke up, "Piece of cake! I have tons of cake." From out of nowhere she pulled out a small chocolate cake. She shoved it in her mouth and said, "Mmmm, yummy!" Star Dim looked at Discorded and shrugged. Then Discorded flew up to the sky. She saw two stallions walking down the road. She dashed in front of them and began flying in a circle creating a swirly spiral. After a while the two stallions looked like they were both hypnotized. Then the stallions began losing their color and both began teasing other ponies. When Discorded came back they both asked her what she did. "I used my flying trick to corrupt them and turn them into their opposite selves. I may not have unicorn magic, but my flying can create different patterns to do different things." Chocolate Pie said, "Trust me this is only the beginning of an awesome day!"
All day the girls watched Discorded Swirls corrupt ponies and use her flying skills to trick them. Eventually they all went to say goodbye to Moonlight. Except Chocolate Pie she said she was going to stay and keep her company. While they were walking Chocolate said, "I think you should meet Cotton Feathers. She is a friend of ours. I think you would really like her." Discorded stopped and said, "Cotton Feathers, I know her! We both went to flight school as fillies." Star Dim said, "Perfect now we all know each other. You know you have very good flying skills." Discorded nodded, "Of course! I am awesome!" Now that she thought about it, she was good at flying, really good. And her ability to trick and corrupt other ponies was special. The more she thought about it, the more she began to believe it. Suddenly she started changing, she grew slightly taller, her mane grew longer, and she received a necklace with her cutie mark on it. Star Dim said, "Well darling looks like you passed the test. The Element of Corruption. It suits you."
When they all got back, they found that Moonlight had woken up. She had been talking with Discord all day. Discorded Swirls said goodbye and left. While Chocolate played outside Star Dim said, "She passed. The Element of Corruption and I must say she discovered her element quite quickly." Moonlights eyes widened, more nightmares. They were going to come and she would not be able to keep them from coming. Discord saw look on Moonlights face and said, "Go upstairs, we will talk in a minute." Moonlight slowly nodded and walked upstairs, they could both hear Moonlight crying softly. Discord said, "One more to go. Thank you. I will try to calm her down, her power has been constantly growing stronger." Star Dim nodded as she left she told Chocolate to come with her. Chocolate began to whine and said, "Why? I want to stay with Moonlight!" Star Dim replied calmly, "Not tonight darling. Moonlight needs Discord right now. Chocolate looked sad but nodded and walked home.
Discord could hear Moonlight crying, but this time she sounded almost angry. He walked into her room. As soon as Moonlight saw him she stopped crying. "Nightmares, they are going to come. I can not stop them." Discord laid down on the bed and said, "You have been having nightmares about me haven't you? Tell me." Moonlight looked away for a while, but then said quietly, "You were turned to stone." Discord moved closer to her and said, "What? I need you to speak up." Moonlight felt tears drip down her face she said in a louder voice, "You were turned to stone. Two alicorns came and turned you into stone. I could not stop them, I was left alone. The world was in harmony and nopony seemed to care about me or you. My friends left me. I destroyed everything and hurt you." Discord looked shocked. Then he said, "Maybe this will help." He took his lion paw and touched Moonlights horn. Moonlight began to feel stronger and more powerful. Moonlight looked nervous and said, "What happened?" Discord said, "I gave you some of my power, strength, and feelings." Moonlight began to relax and said, "Thank you." Discord watched her slowly lay down. He started to stroke her mane to calm her. While Moonlight closed her eyes she could have sworn she heard music. It was very soft and quiet but it was the most amazing sound she ever heard. When both her eyes were closed Discord snapped his fingers. He hoped this would help.
She was laughing. Dark Chaos was so close you could hear her breathe. Her mane was a mess, her coat was dirty, and her eyes were twitching. She looked like she had gone insane with power. "Finally.... I will..... get you...... your magic will be mine." Dark Chaos used her magic to make four other ponies appear. Discorded Swirls, Chocolate Pie, Cotton Feathers, and Star Dim. They all had red glowing eyes. Cotton Feathers and Discorded Swirls had bat like wings, and Star Dims horn was a bright red making her look like a vampire. Chocolate Pie's mane was straight and looked messed up. Dark Chaos then made the Elements of Chaos appear. One by one they took the necklaces from her. Then they all surrounded Moonlight. Cotton Feathers said, "The Element of Power." Then she raised the necklace in the air, and then threw it as hard as she could. The sound of crystal shattering broke the silence. Bits of the necklace flew everywhere. Moonlight fell, she suddenly felt weak. Then Star Dim said, "The Element of Darkness." She used her magic to raise the necklace higher then Cotton Feathers had, then let it drop. The necklace hit the dark ground and broke. The remains flew up in to the air and rained down on all of them. Moonlight then screamed. She could feel her magic fading. Chocolate Pie copied them and said, "The Element of Fun." She laughed maniacally then jumped into the air, higher than Cotton Feathers or Star Dim. Then tossed the necklace towards the ground. The necklace broke. Then as Chocolate Pie came towards the ground she landed right on top of the necklace causing it break into hundreds of pieces. Moonlight felt so weak she could not even stand. Then Discorded Swirls flew up higher then any of them had gone and yelled, "The Element of Corruption!" She raised the necklace in the air and then threw it as hard as she could. Moonlight watched as the necklace was falling in the air, then she heard the shattering. The pieces flew into the air and scattered all around them. Then finally Dark Chaos took Moonlight's element Chaos. She tossed it into the air and used her magic to create a beam and aimed it at the element. Then it hit the necklace, causing a giant cloud to form. When it cleared Moonlight saw the Element still there. Not even a dent could be seen. Dark Chaos looked shocked. "What? How is this possible?"
Discord had been watching Moonlight sleep. She looked terrified. After a while she looked weak. Suddenly her color began to fade. Her mane was now a pale white and grey. Then more color began to fade. Her tail was now colorless. It bean spreading through her body until every part of her but her horn had no color. She was almost covered in a white, grey color. Just then her horn began to glow, then all her color was gone. She look cold and lifeless. After a while nothing happened. But then a spark flowed from Moonlights horn, spreading all of her color back. Her mane began flowing, and she looked alive with power. Then for a small moment Moonlight opened her eyes. They were glowing white.
Moonlight stared at her Element confused as to why it did not break. Then remembered. Discord had given her some of his magic. She still had power left so it could not break. The more she remembered the stronger she felt. She then had enough strength to cast one spell. She aimed her horn at the Element of Chaos. It began to glow. It then floated on to Moonlights head. The spell hit the remains of the other Elements. All the pieces began fitting together. Then it hit her friends causing the spell Dark Chaos put on them to be lifted. Then Moonlight fell. When her friends opened their eyes, they saw Moonlight and the other Elements. They rushed towards their Element, they put the necklaces on, and rushed to Moonlight. Then the Elements began to glow. Even though there was only five Elements they were going to stop at nothing to defeat Dark Chaos. Each Element made a beam of light that hit Moonlight, giving her more power. Then she opened her eyes. They were glowing. Colors began flowing out of each Element. The large beam of light hit Dark Chaos. Then it transformed her into a cloud of blue smoke. Moonlight could hear it talking to her, "She is too powerful. We must find a weaker source. Then we shall use our darkness and rule over these weak ponies and Equestria!" Moonlight began feeling her power growing it was too strong. She watched as everything disappeared and turned into beautiful colors of light.
Moonlight lifted her head quickly. Discord was right in front of her. Moonlight backed up slowly. Discord reached out to touch her and said, "What happened?" Moonlight took a minute to breathe and said, "I think I saw the Colors of Chaos."
Ever since Discorded Swirls had unlocked her Element, everypony was trying to search for the sixth pony to represent the final Element of Chaos. But every time they searched they had no luck. The girls even tried to convince Moonlight to come with them to try and help them. But every time Moonlight said no. She still did not feel comfortable going anywhere without Discord. Especially not with her power constantly growing stronger. Eventually they all gave up and decided the sixth pony would later be revealed. Later on Discord found a pony who he believed would be the sixth Element of Chaos.
Moonlight flew up towards the trees. She had been spreading chaos all day with Discord and she was feeling a little tired. She found a tall comfortable tree and laid down. Discord flew into a tree right across from her and watched her. Just then he felt the tree being shaken. He lost his balance and fell down. When he got up he saw a white earth pony with a pink and yellow and blue mane. She had a brown hat on and was bucking the trees. When the earth pony saw him she rushed over to him and said, "Oh! I am so sorry. I did not mean to let you fall out of the trees. Let me help you up partner." Discord was confused but allowed the white mare to help him. Moonlight had heard him fall and immediately flew out of the tree to help. "Oh my goodness! Are you alright? That looked like quite a fall." Discord nodded and said, "Don't worry about me my dear. I am perfectly fine." Moonlight looked at him with concern and said, "Alright. I am just glad you're not hurt." Then she saw the earth pony. She looked a little nervous and said, "Um.. hello. Who are you?" The earth pony walked towards her and said, "It's alright sugarcube. I ain't going to hurt you. It is nice to meet y'all. I'm Crazed Candy. And you are?" Moonlight looked less nervous and said, "My name is Moonlight Chaos, and this is Discord. What were you doing anyways, I mean with the trees?" Crazed Candy began to speak only this time her language made no sense and it was very hard to understand. Moonlight looked at Discord and he gave her a look as if he did not know what was happening. She turned back to Crazed Candy and said, "Sorry, could you say that again? We did not quite understand you." Crazed Candy put a hoof over her mouth and said, "So sorry about that. It happens a lot. I try to speak normally but sometimes I just speak crazy talk! It confuses others. Um yes with the trees. Well you see you know how candy grows on trees?" Moonlight nodded, in a world of chaos it was very rare to see trees not growing candy or some kind of crazy sweet on them. "Well my family lives on a farm and we collect the candy and turn it into different treats. We buck it off the trees and combine it to make all kinds of things. And so I saw this field and started bucking candy out of the trees and then Discord fell right out of one of them!" After a long conversation Moonlight and Discord went back home. When they got there Moonlight said, "I am going to tell the girls."
Two days had gone by since Discord and Moonlight came across Crazed Candy and all of the girls had been told. They all went to visit Moonlight and found her in her room. After telling them everything they discussed it all day. At the end of the day they all agreed tomorrow they would test her. If Crazed Candy passed they would have all six Elements of Chaos.
The Element of Confusion Crazed Candy
Moonlight woke up very early. She sent letters to all of her friends telling them to meet outside the house. She wrote a letter to Crazed Candy telling her the same. The girls all wrote back to her telling her they had everything set. Crazed Candy wrote she would be able to make it and she could not wait to meet her friends. They were so close to unlocking the final Element. This was going to be a very chaotic day.
All the girls met at the center of the town and walked over to see Moonlight together. "I can't believe it. We are so close to unlocking the final Element this is going to be awesome!" Discorded Swirls said. She was flying so quickly her friends had to trot to keep up. "Yea! When we are done we should totally have a party!" Chocolate Pie replied. Cotton Feathers added, "Sure why not. I hope Moony will finally come with us though." Star Dim agreed, "Yes darling, she really needs to try. I mean she should not be nervous any more. I can not wait to meet this Crazed Candy. She sounds delightful." Finally the girls all arrived. They saw a white earth pony talking to Moonlight. Chocolate Pie waved her hoof and yelled, "Hi Moonlight! Is this Crazed Candy?" Moonlight nodded and then whispered to Crazed Candy. She whispered something back and then stepped towards the girls. "So these are your friends? It is so nice to meet y'all!" Then Crazed Candy began speaking nonsense again. Cotton Feathers said, "Moony, what is she saying?" Crazed Candy covered her mouth again and said, "Sorry about that. Sometimes I talk crazy and it's confusing. Moonlight here has told me all about you." She walked towards Star Dim first and then laughed, "Moonlight told me I should be careful around you." Star Dim looked shocked and said, "And why is that?" Crazed Candy replied, "Because you like neat and clean. I work on a farm and get dirty all day." Then she moved to Chocolate Pie while Star gave a nervous look, "You must be Chocolate Pie. I hear y'all like having fun and making jokes?" Chocolate bounced up and down and said, "Absolutely! You seem fun too!" Crazed Candy nodded and walked towards Cotton Feathers, "Hmm, I am guessing y'all are Cotton Feathers?" Cotton nodded and said, "That's right so don't get in my way. Though it is nice to meet you." Crazed laughed and said, "Just like Moonlight said y'all would be." Then she walked towards Discorded and said, "So you must be Discorded Swirls, I hear you like danger, adventure, and think your the best." Discorded swirls said, "Yeah, if anypony has got guts its me. You like competition too? Awesome!" Crazed said, "I think you and I will get along just fine." She turned to Moonlight and said, "Now what?" Moonlight replied, "Well as I mentioned you will be tested to see if you represent one of the Elements I told you about." Crazed looked confused but said, "Alright then, show me the way!" Before they left Star Dim said, "Moonlight darling, please come with us." Chocolate added, "Yeah it will be fun!" Cotton added, "We miss having you around. You made it more exciting." Moonlight looked at the ground and said, "You know I can't do that." Star Dim said, "What do you mean? You can do it you are just afraid." Moonlight looked her in the eyes and said sternly, "Yes! I am afraid. Afraid of hurting you. Afraid of losing you and Discord again. Eventually I will be ready again. But not now. I am sorry." Star Dim looked hurt but she nodded and said, "Alright, you can stay but we will tell you what happened. Discorded take Crazed Candy around we will join you in a minute." Discorded nodded and walked with Crazed Candy. When they were far enough Star Dim said, "Why didn't you tell us?" Moonlight said, "Tell you about what?" Star Dim said, "About Discord! Why didn't you tell us you felt that way about him? We saw you say it but we wanted you to tell us. Do you not trust us?"
The girls were facing Moonlight. Moonlight grit her teeth. "No! I do trust you. I just did not know how you would react. If you would not like me anymore. That is why I don't leave him. I don't want to hurt him anymore then I already have. I love him too much." Star Dim walked over to her and said, "Darling, we all knew. You did not have to hide it from us." Moonlight looked at her and said, "You knew? All of you?" Chocolate Pie said, "Of course we did silly!" Cotton rolled her eyes. "It really was not that hard to find out." Star Dim smiled. She gave her friend a gentle hug. "Darling we all knew. And we don't mind. I mean it is quite obvious. You both have the same power..." Chocolate cut it, "You both love chaos! And like each other!" Cotton finished. "You two are very similar." Moonlight smiled. "I still don't think I want to go. I'm not ready. But thank you for understanding." She hugged Star Dim. "Don't worry, you don't have to feel ready. But please don't keep everything a secret. We're here for you."
After watching the girls leave Moonlight went inside. She saw Discord standing across from her. "You are not going with them?" He asked. Moonlight looked at him and said, "I can't. The girls just left and are testing her. If she is the last Element we are looking for, what happens then?" Discord smiled and said, "Then your power will become extremely powerful. The Elements will become more effective, and we will know the six ponies that represent true chaos and discord." Moonlight looked and him and quietly asked, "What about you?" Discord thought about the question and then replied, "We'll for starters I will finally spend more time with my favorite pony." He picked Moonlight up and messed up her hair, put her down and continued, "Then I guess I will just live in a land of chaos and rule it with you." Moonlight looked amazed, "Me? Oh want me to rule with you over an entire land full of chaos?!" Moonlight jumped up a gave him a hug. She felt like the luckiest pony in Equestria. And she was.
When the girls headed out they showed Crazed Candy what they all could do. How each of their abilities matched each of their Elements. Crazed Candy had an idea. "Listen y'all I have an idea! See those two over there?" She pointed to two mares walking on the soap roads. The girls nodded, Crazed Candy continued, "Alright I am going to need each of you to make this work. Discorded used your flying trick to corrupt them. Cotton Feathers y'all are going to use your charm to make them stay still, then Star will make a black cloud appear around them and while they are distracted Chocolate Pie will use her things to mess them up. Then I will handle the rest got it?" Everypony nodded. Discorded Swirls flew in front of the two mares and flew in a circle causing a spiral to appear. The mares kept looking at the swirling spiral, then Cotton Feathers told them to stay still as long as possible. Next Star Dim put a black cloud around them so they could not see. Then Chocolate Pie sprang into action, she grabbed a bag full of party and pranking supplies. She jumped into the cloud and got to work. When cloud cleared up Discorded Swirls got rid of the swirl. The girls looked at the mares and laughed. One was covered in streamers and paint and was wearing dotted shoes. The other one was soaked in water and had ink surrounding her eyes. Her mane was messed up and had balloons tied on to her tail lifting her partially into the air. When both mares saw themselves they shrieked. Crazed Candy walked over to them and began confusing them with her weird language. Eventually the two mares ran off screaming thinking they had lost their minds. This happened all day. Crazed Candy even took them all to her farm and showed them what she did. Star Dim stayed out of most of it. Seeing that she would have to get dirty. She introduced her family, and showed them around her farm. The girls had fun all day doing this. And after another long day of fun they started to head back.
"That was super fun! Can we do this again?" Chocolate Pie asked. Crazed Candy said, "Sure sucarcube. I had a great day myself." Crazed Candy thought of how much fun she had. Showing her skill with ponies just like her made her feel special. Suddenly she began changing, her mane grew longer and she received a necklace that look like her cutie mark. They all look amazed. Star Dim said, "Wow! You received your Element early too. But Discorded earned hers the earliest. Well except for Moonlight." Discorded Swirls grinned, "Well duh! I am he fastest flyer in all of Equestria. So it is so obvious I got my Element the fastest!" Star nodded, "We need to tell Moonlight and Discord." The girls all ran quickly excited to tell the good news.
Moonlight was talking to Discord when it happened. Her eyes began to glow, she was lifted off he ground and she changed, she grew taller, her small fangs grew even longer, and her eyes and coat darkened. When it stopped she looked at Discord he said, "The last Element has been found." He looked at Moonlight her eyes looked even darker than before. Yellow and red, like his. She began to look more like the creature of chaos he was. Moonlight rushed out the door and waited for her friends.
When the girls came closer to the house they noticed Moonlight and Discord waiting for them outside. They all rushed up to them and Discorded Swirls said, "We got the last Element." Discord said, "Yes we knew that. Moonlight went through a small change when that happened." The girls looked at Moonlight she had lightly changed. But changed none the less. "Darling, you look amazing!" Star Dim said. "Doesn't she?" Discord added. Chocolate Pie looked at the girls in excitement. They all nodded. "This calls for a party!" Out of nowhere Chocolate grabbed a canon and was about to fire it when Crazed Candy said, "Wait! Maybe it is a little late for that sugarcube. How about tomorrow in my barn?" Chocolate thought about and then nodded. "Yeah then the party can last even longer!" The everyone laughed.
It had only been three days since Crazed Candy had unlocked her Element of Chaos. Confusion, and she was really good at it. Moonlight was glad to see her friends having fun, but Moonlight began getting weird feelings that something was going to happen.
After a week went by Discord and Moonlight began noticing weird things going on. (Weirder than usual.) In some spots of Equestria it looked like Discord's chaos was being pushed back. They were always able to fix it but they always managed to find a new spot where chaos was being pushed back. Something was up.
Eventually Discord and Moonlight found the problem. Two problems actually it was two alicorns named Celestia and Luna. They did not like what was going on and they were trying to end Discord's reign of chaos. But lucky for Moonlight and Discord, his magic was more powerful than their magic was so they were of no threat to them. Just a thorn in his side that never went away. But one day Discord and Moonlight were just watching other ponies in their misery when Moonlight noticed Celestia and Luna. She told him and he said for her to stay hidden. She hid behind his chair while Luna and Celestia stepped towards him. Discord looked at them and laughed. "This is so much fun! How about a game of pin the tail on the pony?" He then held up Celestia's tail in his eagle claw. Moonlight tried so hard not to laugh. It was priceless! Then she turned and saw Celestia say, "Play time is over for you Discord." Discord was getting tired of these two already he quickly came up with an idea to get rid of these two. "Oh I doubt that!" He held up a bag of plunder seeds and began tossing them everywhere and eating them. "Hungry?" He asked. They gave no response and glared at him. "Suite yourselves." He said and continued to toss them and spread them everywhere. Moonlight began to think. This seemed familiar. Too familiar. She watched as Celestia and Luna pulled out six colorful looking gemstones. Discord dropped the seeds and said, "Oh! What have you got there?" Though he knew what they were he was bored and wanted to see what they were going to do. Celestia said, "The Elements of Harmony." Luna added, "And with them we shall defeat you!" Moonlight listened to this and remembered, this was from her dream! Luna and Celestia were going to turn him to stone. The Elements of Harmony were the counterpart of the Elements of Chaos! Moonlight tried to get his attention but she could not do it without being noticed. And there was not enough time to call her friends! Discord began laughing, "You should see yourselves right now! The expressions on your faces, so intense so sure of yourselves!" Discord did not believe they could defeat him with the Elements of Harmony, his power was too powerful. He continued laughing as Celestia and Luna powered up the spell and aimed it towards Discord. Moonlight did not know what to do she only had a few seconds left! As the spell hit Discord Moonlight touched him. His body instantly turned to stone as well as hers. Celestia and Luna finished the spell ridding Equestria of all chaos. A bright light appeared then darkness.
Luna and Celestia tried to help rebuild the kingdom and help the ponies of Equestria. They took Discord and put him in the center of a sculpture garden. They also noticed Moonlight. Though they did not know who she was she was was put next to him in the garden. The ponies of Equestria were very happy. Celestia and Luna then came to rule Equestria. All the ponies were finally happy. Except Moonlight's friends. They saw that Discord and Moonlight had been turned to stone and were very sad. Though they did not show the princesses these feelings they visited the statues as Luna raised the moon for the first time over the kingdom. Moonlight though still a statue could steel hear everything that went on. She felt angry at Luna and Celestia and had pure hatred for what they did. She was going to get out of here and break Discord free. She was going to rule Equestria by his side in a land full of chaos. Moonlights friends looked at her statue and saw a single tear drip down the statues face. Then suddenly, the statue began to crack. And Moonlights friends could hear a soft laugh coming from the statue. Moonlight was free.
When Discord took over Equestria he created six elements that represented chaos and disharmony each element represented.......
The Element of Chaos

The Element of Power
The Element of Corruption
The Element of Fun
The Element of Confusion
After he created these Elements he knew he needed to find six ponies to represent and control their power. He started to look for a pony to represent the strongest and most powerful element. Chaos. He knew this pony would have to be just as powerful and smart as he was. After looking for days he finally found one an alicorn named Moonlight Chaos.
The Element of Darkness Star Dim
Moonlight was trying to find a way to spend a morning without Discord. Later she had bumped into a purple unicorn named Star Dim. She was a very posh pony and had a very rude attitude. She used her magic to take all the color from Equestria and replace it with dark and grey colors, spreading a black,inky fluid. Moonlight figured she must represent one of the Elements Discord had told her about. She had told Star Dim she should meet him. Star Dim looked at Moonlight,"Forgive me for asking darling, but... who is Discord exactly?" Moonlight got closer to Star Dim and said, "Come with me and I will show you." Star looked nervous but nodded. Moonlights horn flickered and a bright light appeared surrounding them. When the light dimmed they were gone.
Discord had been following Moonlight all day, he saw her talking to a purple unicorn. One of the last things he heard her say was having her meet him. He snapped his claw and disappeared. After what he saw he knew exactly what Moonlight was thinking, and he knew she was probably right.
When Star Dim looked up see saw Moonlight walking around a bit. "Darling where are we and what are you doing?" Moonlight did not answer. She walked straight up to a very tall, dark and crazy looking house. Moonlight walked in through the door and said, "Wait here." Star Dim heard Moonlight talking to someone and after a while Moonlight came a tall creature followed her, it had different body parts of different animals. Star Dim was shocked, but was not scared. "Moonlight darling, who is this?" Moonlight walked forward, "Um, Star Dim, this is Discord, Discord this is Star Dim...." Moonlight looked a little nervous. Discord walked forward he looked at her for a while. He turned to Moonlight and said, "Moonlight my dear, I think you have just found the Element of Darkness."
The Element of Fun Chocolate Pie
Discord had been following Moonlight around everywhere, even though he told her to spend the day with Star Dim it was not for them to have fun. When she unlocked her Element of Chaos he had been able to feel a powerful magic. And if it ever got out she would need to be protected from its power and would need to be able to control it. Or it would do more then cause chaos, it could cause great danger to her, her friends and him.
Just a few days ago Discord had met Chocolate Pie and he was already starting to like her. Her cheerful attitude and jokes made him, Moonlight, and Star Dim laugh very hard. One time Chocolate Pie accidentally fell into a pond while taking a walk and made Star Dim laughed so hard she could not breathe for half a minute! Chocolate always looked at the good side but if you got deep enough under her skin Chocolate could be very rude and angry. Whenever Discord and Moonlight went out to spread chaos Chocolate would join them and used her pranks and jokes to drive everypony crazy! Though after everypony went home he would have Moonlight stay with him. He got more and more nervous, she was the only pony who truly understood him and he did not want anything to happen to her. Sometimes he would see her moving around as if something was chasing her, other times she would appear as if she was frozen, or melting. Most of the time he would ask her if she had been having nightmares, most of the time she would say no, but on rare occasions she would say she had but she was too afraid to tell him. So he tried to keep her mind off it by having her friends come over more often especially Chocolate Pie. The way she made everyone smile and laugh so quickly was amazing. Chocolate Pie loved seeing her friends smile, and she loved having fun especially with Discord and Moonlight. She slowly felt herself change and when it was over a necklace with her cutie mark on it appeared and her mane grew longer. Moonlight while still giggling said, "I guess we found the Element of Fun." Discord and Star Dim nodded and everyone laughed.
After a long day and everypony left Discord watched Moonlight again. He grew more nervous as more Elements were unlocked Moonlights power grew stronger. He knew this would happen but he was afraid something bad would happen to her. He realized he would have to stay with her at all times. He looked at Moonlight still sleeping she looked very calm and was smiling. Discord looked at the moon that just took the place of the sun and said, "Sleep tight my dear."
Star Dim, Cotton Feathers, and Chocolate Pie had just seen Moonlight wake up. After which they told her Discord was upstairs, when she went up they followed her. They were able to make sure she did not see them. When she went inside Discord's bedroom and shut the door they all crowded around the small keyhole which was upside down. They watched as Moonlight began talking to Discord for the first time since she had left. As the conversation went on they grew more shocked and amazed. Until eventually they saw Moonlight hug Discord and said quietly but loud enough for them all to hear. "I love you."
Moonlight had just walked into Discord's bedroom and he had something she needed to hear alone. Moonlight walked over to him and said in a shy quiet voice, "I am sorry. I am sorry I hurt you and made you worry. I am sorry for leaving you and my friends. I promise I will never leave again." Moonlight looked like she was about to cry again. Normally Discord did not care for emotions, but he hated seeing her cry. It amazed him how she showed show much compassion towards him and how she treated him like everypony treated one another. He flew over her and said, "It is fine. I am just glad you were safe when your friends found you. I was wrong when I said we should leave you. Your powers may grow stronger, but there are some things even I cannot live without. One of those things is you." Moonlight looked up at him and looked surprised, "You were right about one thing though, if you say you cannot live without me then I cannot live without you." Discord pulled Moonlight closer and said, "Before your friends left they each told me in their own way that you told them that you have feelings for me. Is this true?" Moonlight's eyes widened. But she remained still, then she jumped on to him and hugged him and said very quietly but loud enough for him to hear, "I love you Discord." For once Discord was not shocked with her hugging him. For the first time he wanted to keep holding her and he never wanted to let her go.
Star Dim, Chocolate Pie, and Cotton Feathers were all shocked. After watching Moonlight and Discord talk they all went downstairs. Cotton said, "Wow. I knew she had feelings for him, but I never would have thought she would have enough feelings to tell him she loved him." Star Dim said, "Indeed, I knew she liked him, but love? Is she even ready for that? What will Discord think now that he knows?" Chocolate said, "I am just happy she is back! Even if he does know, as long as she is happy, he will be happy." Star and Cotton nodded in agreement, their friend was back, as long as she was happy, they all would be. They all felt a spark inside them and even though they all knew two more ponies would come for now they would all stay together.
Moonlight's friends watched her fly off the pedestal she had been standing on all day. She walked over to Discord's statue. She flew up and looked at his cold stone body. She hugged the statue and cried. After she flew down. Her friends looked at her in fear. She looked at the statue and then at the moon and said,
"No matter what it takes, you will be free. No matter what the cost, I will free you. My hatred for Celestia and Luna grows as does my chaotic power. The skills you showed and gave to me I will use to destroy their harmony. The kindness you showed to me I will never forget. For the ponies that mocked me and believed me to be a monster, you showed me that it has other meaning. The monster ponies thought you to be is what I have become, I will never leave you. For my chaotic love never dies. Your return shall arise. When you take me in your arms. And wipe my every tear. You sooth me when I am angry. And calm me when I am in fear. I am your Queen of Chaos. And my love for you shall never, ever die........Goodbye."
Moonlight quietly began to cry and looked up at the starry night. She saw that the made a constalaltion that looked just like her cutie mark. Her friends all walked over to her. They all watched as she fell asleep right below his statue. Then they all left. While Moonlight slept she swore she heard music and heard Discord's voice. Almost as if he was singing to her.
