Luna, heartbroken that nopony loves her night, becomes Nightmare Moon and moves to destroy her sister Celestia, so she can plunge the world into eternal night. Much careful preparation went into her plan, including a way to unravel her sister's immortality.

Nightmare Moon hadn't planned on a rogue lunar pegasi named Coronach interfering.

Sometimes, one pony can make a difference, as Coronach struggles to buy Celestia time to activate the Elements of Harmony. He bravely lays down his body to give Celestia the advantage that she needs.

What nopony expected was that Coronach would survive the confrontation with Nightmare Moon and would continue to serve his beloved Sun Goddess.
