Chapter 1 – a fated meeting

“Celestia, it’s time, it’s time!” shouted an exited luna as she bounded around her sisters bedroom. “C’mon, we’re going to see starswirl!” she exclaimed with joy. Her sister on the other hand seemed happy to remain asleep. Luna scowled as her eyes began to glow, “aaarghh!” Celestia creamed as she awoke with a start. “Lunaaa” she complained, “please stop doing that, you know it hurts my head.”

“if you stopped lying in so much I wouldn’t have to do it now would I?”

“ugghhh, im to tired to argue Luna, why did you wake me anyway?”

“It’s time for our first day at Starswirl academy! Lets go already!”

“Alright, alright,” she said her tone dropping to her usual softness “I’ll meet you at the front gate.”

“Rodger that sis, ill cya their” replied luna as she bounded out the door.

It was a normal sunny day in canterlot the sun rising over the horizon with a warm glow. governed as always by starswirl’s time magic the sun and moon were always perfectly on time, this meant that ponies could very easily measure the time by simply looking up eliminating the need for clocks. The front gate looked beautiful as most things designed in the crystal empire did. Luna was waiting at the gate as Celestia approached. “Hey tia, lets go.” She said as she turned toward the path.

THUD

“Ow” she said rubbing her head with her hoof “are you okay?” Celestia ran towards the alicorn and her unwitting obstacle. “I’m fine, how is your friend?” replied the stranger. “Oh she’ll be fine, she’s made of strong stuff”

“yeah, I am sorry about that though, I should have been looking where I was going.”

“ahh don’t worry about it, I’ll live. By the way do you know the way to the starswirl academy? I’m kinda new here.”

“we are actually headed their ourselves would you like to come with us?”

“Of course, the names chrysalis by the way”

“Oh how rude of us im Celestia and this is Luna we are enrolling in magic classes at the academy”

“I’m enrolling in friendship studies, I have some friends who are going to the academy from all over. You should meet them, I’m sure they’ll love you two.”

“Umm I hate to interrupt you two but we have an entrance ceremony to go to. Lets move!”

“sorry about her, but she is right we are going to be late.”

“well then, lets get a move on!”

The three ponies left the comfort of the castles main gate and headed out towards the centre of the city, the warm weather beating down on them as they travelled. They all carried bags bulging with scrolls and official documents to present to the castle as well as various school supplies they would need for their upcoming trials.
