Better Than You-Diamond Tiara's Story
Chapter One-A Beautiful Young Filly
Chapter One: A Beautiful Young Filly
One day in the Ponyville Hospital, two ponies stood over a small baby in one of the many cribs. The mare of the two, Golden Shine, was a bright pink with a light blue mane. She had emerald green eyes and a silver crown with a single ruby on it. That Stallion, Filthy Rich, was brown-furred with a sleek black mane and tail, both perfectly quaked. He wore a small blue-and-white tuxedo with a red tie with a dollar sign imprinted on it. They stared at their beautiful baby: She was bright pink with a light purple and white mane and tail. Her dazzling blue eyes shimmered in the light. Filthy Rich took something out of his saddlebag and placed it on the filly's head. It was a shining silver tiara with diamond tips. Although the crown was large and lopsided on her, the filly squealed in delight.
"I know what we should name her!" Squealed Golden Shine.
"What?" Rich asked excitedly.
"Diamond Tiara."
As Golden Shine paced anxiously around the enormous kitchen of their house. She was waiting for the call from the hospital saying whether or not Diamond Tiara could go home. The phone rang, and Golden picked it up quickly.
"Hello...?"
"Hi! This is Ponyville hospital. We just needed to inform you that Diamond Tiara is ready to come home."
"OK!" Golden Shine put the phone down quicker than you could say "Excited." She ran to Filthy Rich and told him the good news. They immediately drove to the hospital.
Rich and Golden rushed into the hospital. They trotted over to where their filly slept. Nurse Redheart gave her to them nad they were out of the hospital, just like that.
As Golden Shine put Diamond tiara in the crib that they bought for her, she adjusted the tiara. She had tried to put it on normally, but it slipped back to it's sideways position. She shrugged and trotted out of the room.
Diamond Tiara's room had immense amounts of pink: Pink curtains, pink blankets, pink mattress, pink mobile, pink everything. Rich and Golden spoiled her with every single baby toy they knew she wanted and likes. Rich owned a large sales company which also helped in the making of Equestria, Barnyard Bargains. So, of course, Rich was very, well, rich. And so was the rest of his family. Golden and Rich would always tell Diamond Tiara that she's their little princess and that she's the most precious and beautiful filly in the world.
Diamond Tiara learned to walk at age one. She had found her balance fairly quickly. She was just playing with her toys one day, and she just kind off stood up. She fell down the first few times, but she was able to get her balance after a while.
About a month later, with the help of her parents, she learned to talk.
"Diamond, say Mommy!"
"M-Muh-Mo-mmm--iee?"
"Good job! Now say daddy!"
"D-Da-Da-ddddd-ieee?"
"Yes! You did it!"
And so on. That day she only learned 'Mommy', 'daddy', and 'hi.' Diamond Tiara tried to talk whenever she could.
When she was sad, she would wail, "Moommmmiiee!!!"
Or when she was saying hello to anypony, she mustered a, "Heeii."

Chapter Two-How The Tables Turned
Chapter Two-How The Tables Turned
For Diamond Tiara's third and second birthday, she was given a heap of presents from her parents, and had a huge party. Diamond Tiara had grinned eagerly at everything.
One day, Golden Shine was driving to the store for Diamond Tiara. As she tried to return to the house, another car hit the side of hers, and she was rushed to the hospital.
Rich and Diamond Tiara waited impatiently for the doctor to tell what if she was okay. Finally, a doctor walked in with a sad look on his face.
"We couldn't save her. She's gone." Rich let out a loud wail, and he fell to the floor with slow, heaving sobs. This made Diamond Tiara upset. She started crying too, although she didn't quite understand what had happened.
When they were driving home, Diamond Tiara asked to Her father, "Daddy? Where's mommy?"
Rich answered quickly and quietly, "She's on a long journey ahead of us."
Diamond was confused, "When is she coming back?"
"She won't. Never." Rich Sighed. He had to let his daughter face the facts. "Mommy.. she's dead. She can't come back. I'm so sorry."
"W-What?!" Diamond Tiara sputtered. She was only 6 at the time, but she could talk pretty well. "But, Mommy..." Her voice trailed off, and she erupted into a wail. She cried through the whole car ride.
When they got back, Rich tried to calm her down. He placed a hoof on her shoulder and stated calmly, "Death is a natural thing. Death is a part of life. Sometimes you just have to accept it."
Diamond Tiara wrenched away from him. "They didn't do enough to save her! What kind of doctors are they?!" She screeched. "Why couldn't they?!!"
"Honey." Rich attempted put his hoof on her shoulder again, but she flicked at him with her tail.
"They did everything they could. She was too badly injured."
"THEY COULD HAVE SAVED HER! IF ONLY THEY HAD TRIED!" Hot tears ran down Diamond Tiara's face. She couldn't take it. She stomped into her room, and locked the door. In a moment of great fury, she gripped one of her stuffed animals with her jaw
and threw it at her wall. She collapsed on her pink canopy bed and started sobbing hysterically.
I vow that from today on, I will make sure others suffer how I did. Through themselves. She thought bitterly.
