Vinyl Scratch, a pony whose main profession is being a DJ is immersed in the unseen side of Equestria. Vinyl, unable to sustain enough income from her job as a DJ must resort to other means, selling drugs, prostitution and thievery. These "unsavory" nighttime activities draws the eyes of Princess Luna, being the Mistress of the Night, this behavior intrigues Luna, who is looking for a pony to succeed her now that Princess Celestia has Twilight.
