How A Diamond Sparkles In The Solid Rock.
many individuals have, like rough diamonds shining qualities, hidden beneith a rough appearence. -Juvenal Quotes
Once all of the young filles and colts took their seats, Mrs. Cheerlie spoke up.
"Hello class." She said in a very sweet as sugar voice. "Today I want you to tell the class how you got your cutie marks!"
Diamond Tiara bit her lip. She never told any pony how she got her cutie mark, and she still didn't want to.
"The Cutie Mark Crusaders asked to spend the day with you young fillies and colts talking about how you got your cutie marks!" Cheerlie said as she flung her front hooves in the air enthusiasticly as she said the next sentence. "I have decided to spend the WHOLE month learning about how you got your cutie marks!"
The class cheered, hoof bumped, and squealed happily.
Cheerlie waited for the excited filles and colts to calm down before she continued to speak. "Our first little filly to tell us their story will be..." Cheerlie stopped for a momment to draw a slip of paper from the small bowl she had next to her.
Diamond's heart stopped as Mrs. Cheerlie said the name on the slip. "Diamond Tiara!"
Diamond walked shakily up to the front of the classroom.
"Um..." Diamond said as she finally reached the front of the class. "Mrs. Cheerlie, my cutie mark story is a might bit complex."
Apple Bloom's eyes widend in shock as she heard her say "a might bit".
"Oh, please tell us all the complex story!" Mrs. Cheerlie said in a voice so sweet that it almost topped Flutter Shy's. "We have all day!"
"Well if ya insist." Diand said with a quivering voice. "Ya'll best know, I wasn't allways called 'Diamond Tiara'..."

Diamond Rough got up an' straightend her bandana.Today she just knew was day she would get her cutie mark. Diamond grabbed her pickaxe and headed out.
"Hey look!" A male voice shouter from behind. "It's that idiot Diamond!"
Diamond's eyes widened in fear as she ran into the forest every pony called "The Ever Free". To Diamond The name fit, for in there, she was ever free. She ran straight to her cave. It was a small cave, only large enough to fit a small filly in, but that was only the entrance. The real cave was better, she whistled softly, as she swung her pick into the stone wall. And she swung again and again, until she made a large chunk in the wall disappear. She didn't relize at the time, but a small blue pebble appeared as her cutie mark. She looked at the rocks, and picked up one that was bright blue and sparkled.
She left the cave and then yelled: "Woody! Here boy!"
There was a howl, and then a small timber wolf approached. Diamond petted the small timber wolf.
"Good boy woody!" She said as she scratched behind his ears.
"Far over the mountain halls..." She sang, he liked this song for some reason, and she to enjoyed it as well.
"To dungeons deep... And caverns old.." She grabbed her pickaxe and stood up, still humming the song.
"The trees were howling..."
She dug into the cave wall and found four more of those strange bright blue rocks, and four more pebbles became her cutie mark.
"The winds were moaning..."
She walked out of her cave still hummed softly.
She hummed the song to her self as she walked home.
She was finally home when she took out the strange bright blue pebbles. She grabbed a small mallet, and tapped one of the rocks with it. Suddenly, a coat of some kind of rock fell of it, revealing a beautiful diamond. She continued to tap the rest of them, and all were really diamonds.
She continued her song as she grabbed a bunch of strips of silver, and bent them into the shape of a crown, and put the five diamonds it.
Finally she had made a tiara. Then a tiara joined the five pebbles, and her cutie mark had become the tiara she held in her hooves.

"And that's how I got my cutie mark." Diamond Tiara said with a smile of relief. She was happy to finally tell some pony her cutie mark story.
"Diamond tiara, you liar!" Scootaloo said, flaping her wings in anger.
"I'm not lying," Diamond replied calmly. "I'll prove it." Then her voice went deep.
Deeper than any pony had ever heard, as she sang: "far over the mountain halls..." Suddenly the room fell silent, as a breeze blew through out the school room. "The misty mountains cold..."
There was a howl, and a timber wolf jumped into the class room and destroyed the door. It howled, then growled.
"Every pony, behind me now!" Cheerlie yelled in fear.
Every pony hid behind her. Every pony but Diamond Tiara, who stood there and smiled.
The timber wolf barked and stepped closer. Diamond reached out her hoof and petted the timber wolf.
"Good boy Woody!" Diamond said while scratching behind his ears.
The school bell rang, and Diamond Tiara was the first to walk out humming a very familiar tune. "far over the mounting halls..."
She walked home, accompanied by Woody the timber wolf. In the light of the sun set, her blue eyes gleamed like the ocean.
"With dungeons deep.. And caverns old.."
They continued walking till the pair reached the edge of the forest.
Diamond stopped for a moment, took a deep breath, and walked in to the forest that made her feel ever free of limitations.
