Hey guys, this is my first time submitting something…feel free to give any criticism....or go easy on me. Or whatever you want, if you want, that’s just how you roll.
And ignore the fact that the main character and I have the same name. I have persona with my name, and I use him to just undergo many stories. This is one of them.
Parallel
Prologue
I’ve always wondered how the Time Space Continuum works. I’ve been doing this for the past 18 years. If anything, I deserved to know the damn answer. My name is Jack Acacia, and I am a person with the Curse of time, space, dimension, world travel. 18 years ago, this power was given to me by some other world. And then some freak accident gave me the ability to travel Dimensions and Space. From then on, I became the one reason as to why this Universe is still held together. And frankly, I just want to go home. Back to Earth-1, my home. Normally, after a huge operation involving saving some world, I would usually go off and visit some old world to visit some old friends. Try and act as if I can fit in and belong there. In the end, I have to leave once again. Then my power automatically leaves me in another world, soon faced with doom. To execute my power, I have to kill myself, you know, get rid of my existence in that world, and then live again in another world. Well. Here we go again.
This time, I was headed for two worlds. From what I knew, this free floating feeling was bringing me from any parallel dimension of Earth and to a new region altogether. I saw the worlds, they looked really similar to earth. They had lush ground, and oceans as well. Anyway, they seemed like the worlds that wouldn’t know of each other’s existence. The worlds were separated by some wall of Anti-matter. I figured that they were just parallel worlds. I wondered which one I was headed for first. I held onto my gun. My black jacket and jeans felt cold. My Asian like eyes hurt from seeing various stars on the way. Oh Space, how so I’ve missed you.
I heard voices.
I stood up and was shirtless in a bed My jeans were still on, my gun was taken for obvious reasons. I had bandages on around my chest, arms, and my head. A bandage around my abdomen as it was red. I figured that it was a huge cut. I felt my head thinking what could have possibly happened. That’s right. I fell pretty damn hard from the sky. I got too caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t make a proper landing onto this world. When I travel to world to world, I free float, and more often than not, when I’m concentrating, I can stop my fall and land as if I had a parachute. This time I just went straight down. I think thats why I finally began to realize that I had broken what seemed like at least 3 bones. At least my legs are still functioning.
I looked around, there were two human looking girls standing over me. One was dressed in a cyan shirt and blue skinny jeans. She had rainbow hair, styled over one eye and had a rainbow belt. It reminded me of those gay pride people. She had fair skin and had freckles. Rose coloured eyes and a bandaid on her face. She looked like a determined fighter, if her hair was a bit more organized and styled, she would be beautiful.. Her friend had purple hair, and deep purple eyes. Her skin was pale and she looked really delicate. She was really pretty. She was dressed in a white collared button down shirt under a purple sleeveless sweater. Her skirt moved as she slowly walked closer to the bed with the girl with rainbow hair. It smelt nice, probably a brand of shampoo. They started speaking. I couldn’t recognize the language. I realized I wasn’t in a parallel version of Earth anymore.
I looked around and saw my utility belt (YES I HAVE A UTILITY BELT. SHUT THE FUCK UP, I’M THE BATMAN.), I reached over and tried grabbing it. Sadly, my wounds hindered me from reaching and I wasn’t able to grab it. Suddenly, it was surrounded by a purple aura and floated over to me. I looked at the girl with the purple hair. Her hands glowed with a purple aura and she seemed to be controlling the utility belt to come towards me. I raised an eyebrow. I suppose this world also had magic. It would make sense.
I looked through on my belt to see if I still had everything, from binoculars to water canteens, to bandages to disinfects, To my two knives to my ammo. I looked at the communicator in the back pouch. Thank god I visited the future Earth planets, I was able to speak with anyone then. I turned on the communicator, meaning that I was able to talk with anyone on this planet well. Thank god.
“”...Equestrian. Do you speak it?” Said the purple one. Her voice was very professional.
“I’m sorry, what?” I was confused, what the fuck was Equestria
“Did you lose your memory? Where did you come from? You came plummeting down from the sky, and by Celestia, you were lucky Rainbowdash was near your impact site to save you!”
I was really confused. What the fuck was she talking about. Rainbows running, something about the sky, and some name that sounded like it came out of the Lord of the Rings book trilogy. I got up, ribs hurting like a bitch, I didn’t care.
“Where am I?” I asked aloud
They looked at each other.
The rainbow coloured hair one said “I want to start off by apologizing...You see that bandage on your head? I smacked you cause of a reflex.”
Thats great, a girl with a problem of hitting things...
“Anyway, where did you come from? I saw you fly straight down from the sky!”
I scratched my head.
“Hello? Are you mentally re-”
“Rainbow!” Snapped the girl in Purple.
I finally decided to speak
“Something’s going to happen to this world. Forcing it into it’s final days” I said bluntly.
“Huh?”
The girl in purple looked at me and then looked at Rainbowdash, who was also looking back at the girl in purple. They started laughing.
“What?” I asked.
“You don’t seem to understand, peace has reigned this land for the past thousands of years.” said the purple one.
“That doesn’t prove anything, this world could fall at any minute.”
“Right. I think you’re going to need some rest, make yourself at home here!”
I looked around once more. I didn’t notice before, but I made out that I was in a regular suburban home. Most likely implying that I landed in some random town. It doesn’t matter, I guess that’s how most large scale operations work. There was a night stand right next to my bed with a lamp. The mirror in front of the bed was large, I saw the backs of the two girls. The window to my side had a pattern involving horses or ponies or something. And the carpet was tan. It seemed typical. The wall to my other side had a ton of books. I was thinking that this was one of the girl’s homes. Specifically the purple one. Oh wait. That reminded me.
“Hey, wait, could I get your names?” I asked
They looked at me with a weird look as if I were a creep. What the fuck did I do?
“I’m Rainbowdash, and she’s Twilight Sparkle” said Rainbowdash. Her voice sounded a bit rough, as if she were a huge screamo fan. But I guess it added to a bit of her charm.
“Alright...Rainbowdash and Twilight Sparkle, I’ll try to remember that.”
The two left the room saying that I should get some rest. Twilight said she mended some of my bones so that they would heal a bit quicker. Medicine must have been replaced by magic in this world.
The door closed and I was left alone. My utility belt was by my side and I realized I couldn’t sleep. I DIDN’T want to sleep. I think it’s cause I have to save this world.
I got up, my torso hurting really badly, and I felt really light headed. My right arm was in a cast, and all I had was my left arm. I put on my black shirt and I decided to do some investigating. What was this world? And why was I called here of all places to save it? What would induce a 1000 year peace to come to an end? What is Equestria? What is Celestia? Why do people have weird names?
I pondered on many things as I got my utility belt back on. I left my jacket in the room, it was warm enough and it was a beautiful day from what I could see.
I got out of the room and the two girls looked at me as they were sitting down at this table. One of them had a cellphone out with the text ‘Stranger fell out of sky. Requesting help, What do I do?’. Figures, they're just about as curious as me as I am curious about them.
They were telling me to get back to my room, and that I would need to rest, that my cut would probably end up opening again. I didn’t care. I stepped outside. It was beautiful. This land was beautiful. The freshest air I’ve breathed in a long time.I inhaled deeply, and started walking down the street.
Twilight was right. My cut did end up opening again.
