//-------------------------------------------------------// Think Like A Madman -by The System- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Wake Up Call //-------------------------------------------------------// Wake Up Call *relaxation vault opening* "Hey, wake up!" Doug Rattmann moaned. "What..." "Wake up!" He gasped, and sat up. "Has she found us?" "She's entirely dead. She died a few hundred years ago." "Few hundred? How long was I asleep?" "About a thousand. Emergency proto-calls had to keep you alive and the system running, but that buzzed out just a few days ago." "I always was hard to get rid off." He started to get up, until he noticed something. "Hey, it's all healed up!" "That's strange." He ignored it by getting out of the vault, picking up the companion cube, and attach it to his back. "So where do we go now?" "Up. We're going to get out of here." "Up?" "Can't stay here. Nothing to survive with." Doug began to make his way through the facility, making anything effort to go up. Hours passed. "I think I see sunlight!" "Then we're almost there!" He climbed and climbed, avoiding obstacles and finding ways. Finally, he pulled himself up from the ground. "Freedom!" He looked around the area. He was in some sort jungle-like area. "Thousand years?" "My timing must have been off." "Definitely. Let's get out of here. Nothing goes good in a jungle, plus the sun is setting already." Doug made his way through the foliage of the strange area, searching for an exit. At last, he found a clearing. "Here we are!" "It so beautiful..." "Anything to get away from that place." "Doug, look! It's a little town!" "Hey, you're right! There might people there!" "Let's go check it out!" He ran towards the town in the distance. The area getting dark as the sun made its way to the horizon. When he nearly made it, he noticed something completely off. There was no one to be seen, and instead, multi-colored unicorns and ponies were strolling around the city. "Now that must be a hallucination. Right?" "It's not, Doug. Though, they seem friendly." He continued on his way into the town, and everything was fine until- "Look out! It's a monster!" Ponies screamed left and right until the streets were completely barren of any life. "Exactly how I wanted to end the day." -( Library )- "What is that thing?" "He's not a thing, Spike. He's a human." "He?" "He comes from a different timeline. I've read about humans in a book, once." "Have you now? I'm not surprised." "Anyways, I'm going to go and greet our guest. You can stay in here if you like." Twilight stepped away from the window and walked outside. "Hello. It seems that I'm the only one smart enough to actually speak to you." "...I guess." "My name is Twilight Sparkle." She stuck her hoof out. He crouched down and shook. "Doug Rattmann." "Funny name." "Not from where I'm from." "I see. Now that's out of the way, will you please come with me?" "Of course." "Doug, I don't know about this-" "It'll be fine." "What?" "Huh?" "You just said something." "I was talking to the cube." "Well, I didn't hear anything." "You're not the first." Doug Rattmann continued to follow Twilight all the way to the library.
