Chapter 4: Adventure Aperture

Was nearly evening in the village. Twilight and Rainbow Dash were sleeping after a long day of training, Spike spend all the day with the other cats learning about the chores of a “Felyne comrade” and was very tired too but still was helping in the kitchen.

• So, how well it went to the newbie in his first day? – Kayrin asks to Daigo, who was sitting near the entrance of the kitchen.

• Surprisingly well, I though he won´t even endure a half of a day but here he is, surely that Twilight is a strict girl nya- Daigo answers praising Spike´s abilities – Now I owe him a dinner – Kayrin giggle at his comment when he stand up and continues – and what ´bout those girls, you think they can make it? –

• I´m not sure – Kayrin answers – Rainbow surely has some awesome athletic skills and Twilight really can perform “magic” but they still are afraid to fight – she turns to see the room where Twilight and Rainbow were sleeping – I just hope they can do “what they have to do” when the time comes –

That night was a peaceful night at the Pokke village. Meanwhile in the forest Fluttershy was on the shore of a river near a waterfall resting her aching hooves after walk through the forest all the day.

• I hope every pony are ok – She was seeing at the moon with her mind full of thoughts about her friends – And has some place warm to sleep – Then she lay on the floor looking to not a specific thing when she started to fall asleep. – I´m sorry girls, I´m sorry for not be able to found you - She closes her eyes when a loud sound likes an explosion awakes her and made her instinctively hide in the nearest bushes and curl closing her eyes.

The sounds of clashing metals and the roars of a beast where closing where she was but she was afraid to see what it was. – Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness… - She was curling and trembling inside the bushes hopping that whatever that was making those sounds leave, when she barely heard what she think was voices.
She was about to peek outside the bushes trying to see who was talking out there when a near explosion stunned her. She can´t hear anything and barely can see through the smoke of the explosion, crawling outside of it she look back to see a human with strange clothes and a little cat like creature with the same outfit fighting a blue bear. She was too afraid at the moment but seeing that the bear was badly injured and losing the battle she ran at the others without think and stand between them and the fallen bear protecting it.

• Hey what are you doing? Get out of the way! – The man commands her but she don’t move or speak, she just stood there. The bear, which was on the ground after losing it balance, start to run away limping into the forest. – It´s escaping! – The man yells and cat started to pursuit it but Fluttershy jumps to hold it, seeing this, he runs after the bear too but Fluttershy makes him fall with her tail. The bear quickly banished in the forest and Fluttershy, now scared for her own safety, followed the bear into the forest.

• Hey wait! – The man was confused not sure on what just happened. A human protecting a Monster was something inconceivable for most of them, not to mention that a naked woman with a strange appearance walks in the forest at night – What... what just happen? – The man stood there trying to realize what happened with his companion at his side.
  Fluttershy continues running in the forest trying to follow the bear with her pony ears, seeing it not so far from the river place lying under a honeycomb trying in vain to catch it. – Oh my goodness! – She approaches to the bear slowly, knowing that a wild creature in panic would be unpredictable and dangerous.

After noticed her the bear stands over its four pawns ready to fight but to week to even move from that position. –Calm down mister bear, no one will hurt you anymore – Fluttershy starts to carefully caress its head and snout making it to relax, with a loud thud the bear collapses over its side.

– Those meanie ones really make you pass a rough time, how dare them to hurt a wonderful bear like you – She, after winning the Bear´s trust, start to examine its wounds, she barely see in the night but what she saw was that most of the wounds were only flesh-wounds but too many of them that makes it weak and unable to walk. – Poor little thing, let me take care of you now - The bear starts to lick her hand which still has some trails of honey – Oh you must be hungry – Fluttershy stand and flapping hard her little wings was able to reach the honeycomb, dropping it to the ground to break it and taking some pieces for the bear – Here you go mister bear, I´m sorry that I can´t do much for you but at least I can give you this – The bear starts to eat the honeycomb that Fluttershy placed in front of it and she walks around starting to massage its exposed side – This… will make… you feel better… mister bear… - she fell asleep over the bear which, after gained some strength from the honey, curls around Fluttershy protecting her too.

Meanwhile in the house of the chief of the Felyne village many cats where gathered around it, inside the chief and Applejack were talking about how she got there and where she came from.

• So you´re not formerly a human being right? – The chief ask examining her naked body

• That´s right, Ah´ born like a pony, an´ used to use four hooves to walk – Applejack answers looking at her body too – At least ah´ still has mah´ tail and ears but I wonder where mah´ beloved hat fell – she touched her head and sigh missing her characteristic Stetson hat.

• We can make you a hat if you want young one, and some clothes but in change you must help us in the village while we have ready all of that stuff – The chief says – and all that hard work will help you to get used to your new body –

• But Ah´ don´t have time for tha´- Applejack replies – Ah´ need to find my friends and will do it right now, no wonder what kind o´ danger they facing now-

The chief hit her head with his baton -We can´t let you do that! – The chief was standing over his table to be at Applejack´s eye level – not like that! –

• And why not!? – Applejack answers angry, just worried about her friends

• You will just die out there without a proper armor! – The chief yells at her seeing at her eyes – Out there are many monsters, dangerous creatures and wild beast that will tear you apart with a single hit of their tails! – After that the chief sat again in his chair. - Not only that, you don´t know how to survive out there or have the equipment to travel long distances, not to mention that you don´t even know how to walk. Going like that after your friends would be compared to suicide. –
  Applejack realized all her new limitations, her body, her surroundings, the new dangers, but nothing of that keep her mind for want to go out to find and make sure that her friends where alright. – Then what Ah’m supposed t´do? – She ask with a bit of frustration in her voice – As ya say, mah´ friends might be facing those dangers while Ah’m sit here doing nothing t´help them–

From the cats which were gathered at the entrance of the house a confidence voice calls – I can help you with that! – A young gray cat wearing an armor made of acorn makes his way through the other ones, falling over his face when he makes to reach Applejack. – I- I can help you to find them in no time! –

Applejack looks at him surprised and confused while the chief looks at him angry – No way! , you only want an excuse to leave the village trying to achieve your ridiculous dream of “become a hunter” all by yourself! – The chief approaches to him still yelling – you know that the Felynes will never become official hunters, only companions for the humans and that will ever be the rule –

• But what about the famous Trenya – The young one replied – He´s technically a hunter by himself being hired by humans and going alone to those wild lands all alone and… –

• He´s a Treasure hunter! – The chief yells – and took him many years under the tutelage of Trenshi to become like that you hear, YEARS! - Hitting the young Felyne head over his helmet the chief continue – and you, after just 3 months of training want to go out there!?, just like that! … HA! –

• Hey calm down you two! – Applejack interrupts them seeing her chance to find her friends sooner – It´s Mah´ decision after all, and Ah´ say Ah´ trust these young fella –

• But… – The chief tries to reply to her but she still continue

• Ah´ want t´find my friends and these here might help me with that, ah´ also know that ah´ need to learn many things before Ah´ can go outside, so just give me 3 days to get used to mah´ new self and we go –

The chief wasn´t too sure about her decision but he can´t do anything against her –O-Ok young lady, but I suggest you to at least give us a week to prepare some clothes and a basic weapon. As a human you´re not supposed to go naked all the time and your safety for now is our responsibility, after all we found you –

• If ya say so, but Ah´ or my friends don’t usually wear clothes – Applejack answered indifferently

After that in the Felyne village all the cats starts to prepare a place where their guest can sleep while Applejack, the chief and the young Felyne talks about what they will do the next days. – By the way, I’m Steve, Nice to meet you - the young cat present himself.

• Ah´m Applejack, nice to meet ya lil´ fella- Applejack answers him

At the same time in the cave, the strange man where returning with some food for his guest Pinkie, who was trying on a spare armor set he brings. –Hey Pinkie! I´m back –

• Welcome back! – The enthusiastic party girl runs to help him with the supplies – wow, you really know where to find some food… - the enthusiastic girl helps him to carry some of the supplies to the campfire.

• Sorry to take so long, I need to go far from this cave to get these supplies – the Man apologies wanting to start a conversation with her – and how those clothes feel? Are you comfortable wearing them? –

• yeah sure – Pinkie answers while eating the supplies, which were only honey and fruits – It suits me very well, a bit tight on the hips area but I think it´s because the tail – After finish her meal she continues – Aahh… I really was hungry, I never been that hungry… never, in my whole life, it like I haven eat nothing in like so much time and now I feel like already eaten a whole party cake or two and… hey, you haven´t even touch your dinner– Pinkie noticed that Al was just sitting near the campfire looking curiously at her. – Are you alright? –

• Yeah I´m ok, I ate already in the way here so, I´m not hungry at all – The man answers

• Oh, I see – Pinkie says - You told me that these clothes were from a friend of you right? What happened to her? Why she didn´t keep her clothes? –

• I don´t know – the man answers looking at the fire with a gloomy face – One day she just left it in my house and disappear, I was looking for her since then – Pinkie was silent after seeing him sad, she wanted to make him smile but don’t know how at the moment, then the man breaks the silent with a noisy sigh – anyway, it noon already and I think it´s better for you to sleep early tonight, tomorrow awaits a hard day –

-Yeah… Yeah tomorrow! – Pinkie´s thoughts went from how to make him smile to the excitement of the journey of tomorrow – I almost forgot that you´ll help me to find my friends! I´m really excited about tomorrow, I never been so excited well except when… - Pinkie continues with her nonsense talk until she falls asleep in the tent, the man was watching at her while the night falls over them.

The next morning, at Kayrin´s Room Rainbow Dash was polishing her blades while Twilight Sparkle was reading some books where was written basic information about the Hunter´s life and the monsters they fight. Kayrin was out with Daigo while Jasmine was helping in the Kitchen preparing the breakfast and Spike was still sleeping.

• Hey Twi! – Rainbow Dash broke the silence in the room – when you think we will go find our friends? I mean, I know we were still not prepared to face those monsters out there but what if the others are facing them right now? –

• I don´t know Rainbow – Twilight answers while reading the book – I´m as worry as you but reading what are those monsters in this book I think is better to wait for now – she takes the book closer to her face while talking – many of the large monsters or “Wyverns” like they calls them are very aggressive and territorial and might attack any pony on sight –

• Exactly for THAT we need to find them now! – Rainbow replies in frustration– Fluttershy must be too scared to even try to find something to eat, must be starving right now, Apple Jack might be trying to find us without thinking on herself for a minute, and Pinkie Pie… well Pinkie… she just… -

• I know, I know – Twilight put her book aside and approaches to Rainbow – But now we are as helpless as they are, going like this right now will be reckless and dangerous. Sometimes is better to wait and hope for the best – Twilight sighed after that and continues – if only I can contact the Princess, I feel lost now without her guidance but… - she turns to look at Spike – My magic isn´t as strong as it used to be in our home, I doubt that Spike can send the letter as usually he does –

• You might try – Says Rainbow, almost back into her usual self – after all you had nothing to lose trying to send a letter to the Princess –

Twilight remains silent thinking on these last words when suddenly stands up – You know what, you´re right- and starts to walk where Spike was sleeping –in fact the only thing we can lose trying it now is a piece of paper – She shakes the little dragon-cat to wake him – Spike, Spike wake up –

-Aahh!! I´ll clean the Kitch… - Spike awakes startled, dreaming of yesterday’s chores and the strict the Felynes are in their manners – w-what? ... Its morning already? –

-Spike, take a letter– Twilight command to the little one – I don’t know if it’s possible in this world but we at least can try to send it –

The half-awake dragon-cat approaches to the nearest table searching by instinct for paper and Quill when reacted to Twilights demand – What?, do you really thing I can send a letter now?, even you can´t perform most of your basic magic spells – Spikes replied, still looking for the paper and something to write.

• I know Spike – Twilight answered – but I just realized that I can still use magic because I tried, maybe you can still send the letters –

• Alright then – Spike finally found something to write, a piece of carbon from the chimney and a paper from the desk – I don’t know if it will work but I hope it works –

Twilight starts to dictate the letter to spike while Rainbow Dash put away the swords when an angry Kayrin enters mumbling something, followed by a worried Daigo.

• Hey what’s up?! – Rainbow Dash greets her but was totally ignored by Kayrin who rushed into the Kitchen. – What´s the matter with her?-

• Something awful just happen nya- Daigo answers the rhetorical question of Rainbow – the only thing in can tell ya now it´s that you need to get ready soon, cause were leaving- after that he rushed to the Kitchen too.

Rainbow Dash was now confused but she started to put on her borrowed armor and swords. – Hey Twi. - Rainbow speaks to her friend without response – Twilight? ... Hey Twilight! – Rainbow dash screams.

-What? There’s no need for screaming – Twilight finally answers to her friend – just let me finish this with Spike ok? - She replied and then look back at her assistant – OK Spike, now send the letter, just try to concentrate more than you usually do –

• Got it – Spikes nodded and closes his eyes, remembering all he knew about sending letters with fire, after a few seconds he blow some green fire burning the letter in front of him and the ashes starts to magically fly away, like they usually do. – Hmm. Seems that it worked now we just need to wait for a reply-

• I hope so – Twilight replied.

• So, you two finished? - Rainbow Dash ask leaning against the wall - ´Cause apparently we´re finally going out –

• Oh Really! , that’s great isn’t it? – Twilight says cheerfully

• Yeah – Rainbow Dash continues – but something’s seems to be wrong –

• What do you mean? – Twilight ask

• Kayrin was upset about something – Rainbow answers - and Daigo was worried when they came back, maybe something bad happened - Rainbow then walks to the kitchen too –You better get ready to go out now, you know, with the armor and that’s stuff, just in case -

Twilight just nodded to her friend while Spike start to take out some supplies from Kayrin’s chest. – What just happened? – Twilight ask to herself.

Meanwhile at the forest, Fluttershy was riding over the bear searching for some food and watching to not cross again with the hunters. She was alert, her ears moving around trying to hear the hunters while the beast was sniffing around for more honey or something to eat. Suddenly Fluttershy hears some brushes cracking and distinguish the metal sown of a sword, with a quick movement she makes the bear to hide in other brushes and continue her way silently and quickly. The Hunter and his comrade were confused. – It’s supposed to be around here, where is that dam beast! – The hunter yells in frustration. – The time is running out and I haven´t even seen a trail of that thing, it´s like it banished –

-Maybe that girl has something to do with that – His companion says while using its ears to try to hear the beast.

• Can hear somethin´? – The hunter ask

• Just a bunch of vespoids not far from here – the cat replies

• Dam it! – The hunter says – well, it’s not use to continue this hunt, there’s is no much time left also, let’s go back to the village and report about that strange girl- The hunter and his comrade where leaving when over a tree Fluttershy watch them.

• Good, they won’t be a trouble anymore- after she gets down from the tree she realizes how useful her new body is – at the end these erh… new hoofs … are very useful – in the ground she jumps in place and stretched – I get used to this body now, maybe I can find my friends now, I must hurry – she runs into the forest followed by the bear, like it was her pet.

In the Felyne Village fields, Applejack was helping the cats harvesting some berries and herbs, now she was dressed with some fabrics around her breast and hips, just covering enough of her body. The young cat in the acorn armor walks toward her – Hey! Applejack! –

-Hey there! – Applejack answer his greeting

• I got some news from Nyan Jirou the transporter – Steve start to talk – He says that some black lightings like the one where you fell where fallen in the Forest between the Yukumo Village and the Pokke Village, and Yukumo are near here, about a day or 2 walking from here, so maybe your friends are on those villages by now-

• Really?! YEEEHAAA!! – Applejack screams in joy hearing the news – at least now Ah´ know they are probably are safe now – she hugs firmly Steve in appreciation making him to blush – now Ah´ just need those clothes and we can go after them, oh thank you for that news Steve- after that she starts to work even faster, surpassing the cats with their chores at the fields – C´mon every pony! We have some work to do! – Steve stands near her still blushing and admiring the powerful spirit of the stranger.

The Chief walks behind Steve and both looks at the fields and how Applejack works – So, What else did Nyan Jirou tell you? – He asked Steve.

• Huh? Erh well… - Steve was caught off guard by the Chief, and after calm a bit he answer – He told me that there were some hunters that also disappeared with some Wyverns from the same zone, some of the eyewitness also says that an unusual event happened that day at the top of the mountain, some of the most powerful elder dragons were seen together and since then some aggressive monsters became more powerful and those who wasn´t so dangerous became docile - He then sat on the ground thinking on the situation – sigh, if everything goes like this maybe a huge catastrophe will happen soon, and she with her friends must be the key to prevent it –

• I see- the Chief says – maybe she was right after all, the faster she finds her friends and go back to wherever she came from, the better for all of us- then the chief put a pawn over Steve´s shoulder – but that’s not an excuse for doing somethin stupid, promise me that you´ll don’t do anything risky out there, I don’t want to bury another of my beloved sons-

• I promise that Father- Steve answers holding his father´s pawn.

At the entrance of the cave an impatient Pinkie was waiting for Al – C´mon Al, let move! C´mon! – The pink haired girl was shouting.

• Ok, Ok I´m going – Al comes out from the cave wearing his armor and his switch-axe, a strange looking axe which can be changed into a sword and vice versa. – And the village will not run away, so calm down a bit –

• The village? - Pinkie asked – I thought that you´ll gonna help me to find my friends? –

• And I will, but first we need to know where to start to search for them, and the village is a perfect place to start to find some clues for where they could be- Al answered while he and Pinkie starts to walk in the forest.

• Oh yeah, you´re right – Pinkie giggles – Silly me – and they continue walking through the forest talking and laughing all the way.
