//-------------------------------------------------------// Demons -by Flurrykitty- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Exterminated (Blizzard) //-------------------------------------------------------// Exterminated (Blizzard) Last night had been awful, on Blizzard Wing's standards. When he last saw Bright Blaze, she was sitting on the middle of the floor, crying her eyes out. Was there something he did? Most likely not, but there is a possibility. It was only 27 hours later that he had the courage to ask her. When he knocked on the door, the only response was an angry yell. "DON'T COME IN! GO AWAY!" Yep, Blaze was at it again. But this time, she sounded more heartbroken than hilarious. She was a very overdramatic pony to start with, but only awful news can really get her into situations like this. He knocked on the door five times, so she knew it was him. "I- I can't talk right now. I just, can't Blizzard." Her voice was much softer this time, now that she knew it was Blizzard. Even though the unicorn and pegasus weren't related, they treated each other like siblings. After all, they were both raised by changelings since they were born. And neither of them knew their parents. It was only after fifteen minutes that Blaze opened the splintery excuse for a door and let Blizzard in. She had stopped crying on her bed, but her eyes were still red from her long scene. "Oh, I'm sooooo sorry, Blizzard. I really am, but... I couldn't take it. At all." She said to him. Take what? He thought. "What happened in the first place?" Blizzard asked her. Blaze just hung her head down and started speaking. "I was going through the Great Hall, when I saw the queen barking at some changeling carrying a stack of papers. He quickly scrambled off, and in the process, dropped a couple of papers. When Chrysalis left, I snuck over to that spot, and looked at the strange papers." She swallowed hard, and began talking again. "They had pictures attached to them. It was of two couples, with their own newborn. But the thing is, the foals looked exactly like US. I was excited for a moment, until I saw later that on the bottom, there was a large red stamp that said, 'exterminated.' It was awful, never knowing who your parents were, and then seeing a file that said they were dead." This was most likely the hardest thing for Blaze to take in, especially since she always dreamt of meeting her real parents one day. "It's okay, as long as we're safe. That's all that matters." Blizzard said to the orange mare. She didn't say anything, just nodded and turned back to her bed. It had been a long night for both of them, and they needed all the rest for what could be waiting for them tomorrow. Author's Note Yay, first chapter done. Im thinking of making it a longer story, so please bear with me! Ill be spending most of my time on this one, so don't expect much from my other stories. Stay cool mah flurries. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Silent Cave (Blaze) //-------------------------------------------------------// The Silent Cave (Blaze) "UP AND AT 'EM! TIME FOR THE MORNING ROUTINE!!!!" yelled one of the changeling guards. "Yeah, yeah, I'm up. Hey Blaze, it's morning." Blaze heard Blizzard's voice. She slowly opened her eyes to adjust to the morning skylight. Her head still hurt from all the crying last night, but she was sure it would go away by sunrise. "Ugh, why so early? It's a weekend." Blaze complained. The two ponies usually went for training on weekdays, and got to sleep in on weekends. Even crazy changelings have to give their "weapons" a rest sometimes. "BECAUSE THE QUEEN SAID SO! SO GET UP!" the guard barked again. Blaze quickly scrambled out of the small bed she shared with Blizzard. Blizzard was an early bird, so he had no problem waking up at three AM. Then again, pretty much all pegasi are used to waking up early. Must be those boring studies finally kicking in. When they go to the Training Room, Blaze spotted the queen standing in the middle of the room talking to her subjects. "Hmmmm.... yes, yes. That will be a good attack plan. And what if they attack first, then what will you do?" Of course, all the changelings were stumped. The only bright one, named General Ruin, was the first to speak. "Your Greatness, we have a large amount of soldiers who will stay. After all, the pods are located here. So if one dies, they'll just regenerate from a larger pod. This plan is flawless. Now, all we need are the secret weapons." "My ponies will be here shortly for more training. That stupid blue pegasus always gets it wrong." The queen said. "Oh, and Ruin? You get to be the one that leads the first invasion. You are the one who came up with this entire idea, anyway." The meeting stopped when Ruin pointed to the two ponies who had heard the entire talk. "Ah, my ponies. You are finally here! Now move along, and follow General Ruin to the Silent Cave. There, you will be tested to see if you are ready for your next task... and don't fail. If you fail, you die." Author's Note oooohhh, nice name right? so i worked a while on this one. feedback is welcome. and yes, i know changelings don't talk. but too bad. //-------------------------------------------------------// Failing (Blizzard) //-------------------------------------------------------// Failing (Blizzard) The cave didn't look so special. It was only a dark, smelly tunnel with a small pool of light green water that matched the color of Blaze's magic aura. "Do not look away from the water. If you do, you will automatically fail. Do you understand?" Ruin informed the two. "Yes, sir." Blizzard replied. "But may I ask, why is this place called the Silent Cave?" Ruin simply laughed at his question, but then again, Blizzard never really got to study changeling history. "Ah ha ha ha! This is called the Silent Cave because this is the exact location where the first changeling hatched. When he, or she, I don't know the gender- hatched, the shell dissolved into a liquid that formed this pool." Blizzard shuddered in disgust. So, basically, this was changeling goop. Bleh. "So, um, what happens when we 'stare deep into the pool of dissolved eggshell'?" Blaze asked. This took Ruin some time to think. After a while, he finally spoke. "My darling, I must go as far to say that I have absolutely no idea. But now, you're about to figure out." He smiled evilly as he left the cave. Blaze was the first to step up to the edge of the pool. Blizzard was a little hesitant, but went up to the edge with her. The air around was thick with the smell of poison. Blizzard had no idea what this test was even about. Was it on algebra? Or maybe changeling history? He was clueless. Blizzard looked over to Blaze as she was carefully eyeing the acidic water. There was an unsure look she held in her eyes. "I don't know about this..." She said. "You'll do fine. It's probably just some 'magical exam' we have to pass. Even if I fail, Chrysalis probably won't kill us. She needs us too much to do that." Blaze looked up to Blizzard. "I noticed how you said 'I' instead of 'we.'" She said to him. "But, you won't fail either. I know you'll pass this time." She smiled at him as she went back to her spot on the ledge. Blizzard suddenly felt like he was going to pass out. He always knew Blaze was beautiful, but this time, he felt something he had never felt before. Maybe it was because he was getting older, or that he was too dumb to realize now that he had a huge crush on the pony he spent his entire life with. His mind was lost in thought until Blaze snapped him out of it. "You okay? Don't wanna puke again like you did before the last test." "I'm fine. You ready for 'the most important test of our lives?'" Blizzard asked her. Blaze simply replied, "I've been ready for like, five minutes. So go to your side. I'll see you in an hour." Blizzard looked down at the green goop. He was sure he'd fall in and die. This just made him worry more. He unfolded his wings to catch him in case he did manage to slip on the excessively smooth stone. After a few reassuring moments, he looked below at the pool. The first thing Blizzard saw was some sort of dream-like vision. It showed him and Blaze when they were barely able to talk. Everything seemed cheery, until a blob of black goo came up and swallowed the two foals whole. Blizzard tried not to look away. It's just a vision, he told himself, it can't hurt me. The next scene showed a more mature looking Blizzard leading an army of changelings straight at a large city with millions of ponies like him being crushed and injured. The worst part was, he didn't even stop to help one of them. What was he doing, killing off his own species? For what? The vision quickly changed once again. Now, it showed him as a happy stallion, enjoying the towns and cities with, guess who, his beloved Bright Blaze. Nothing changed into a scary scene, or of him being killed by something. It was all nice and sunny. Just like it should be. When the vision faded, Blizzard relaxed a little. He didn't know if the test was done, and he didn't dare to look away. He just sat there, staring at the disgusting pool for longer than he can remember. It was only until he heard a strange gurgling from the water that he snapped out of his trance. He immediately took off, still looking at the blob of rising goo. He flew as fast as he could when he was flying backwards. He wasn't going to fail this test. But he wasn't sure if was going to survive the tsunami of acid anyway. A fearful thought struck Blizzard- where was Blaze? He had to find her, and save her from this terror at all costs. Then she'd finally see that he's not useless, and they'd live happily ever after. Wait, no. They'd still live in the stinking caves, still to be used as weapons, and eventually, they'll both die here. But for now, he wanted to stay alive as long as possible. Blizzard pushed himself through the horrible blob, straining his body to move faster. It was only for another ten seconds that he got out. He didn't look away. He was still in the game. But knowing what he had to do, he rushed over to the area where Blaze was. He hoped she wasn't there, that someone like Ruin had saved her. Even knowing this, Blizzard carried on. Just about when he reached her ledge, he felt a huge impact on the back of his head, and then he blacked out. "Wake up, loser. You managed to fail, once again. Even when we threatened to kill you, you failed. You fell for the vision that we had generated. You FAILED." Blizzard shot up from his spot on the cold stone. Ruin was standing over him, with a very disappointed expression. Blizzard took a moment of silence to process what had happened. If he simply woke up, then it must have been a very realistic dream. "What, I- I failed again? Bu- but I didn't look away from the goo and-" he was cut off by Ruin. "You FAILED because you didn't ESCAPE the tsunami. If you're going to survive, you need to keep going, keep moving on. What if Blaze was already out there, waiting for you? Huh? What would happen?" Blizzard could only think about Blaze at the moment. Ruin carried on with his nagging, but Blizzard didn't listen. Where was she? What mattered more was, how would she react to him failing again? Author's Note I know im doing short chapters, ya ya ya. but i dont have a lot of time on my hands these days, ya know, cuz i have to go to school and all. so anywayzzzzzzz this is so far my longest chapter, which also reveals that Blizzard likes Blaze. No, really? i never would have guessed. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confession (Blaze) //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confession (Blaze) "Hey Bliz. How'd it go? Did you pass?" Blaze greeted as the blue pegasus plodded towards the bed. Oh no. This couldn't be good news. "Blaze, can I tell you something? I know you won't like it, but I have to tell you, somehow." Blaze was sure that he was going to say he failed. Not a surprise. But when he opened his mouth to speak again, he said, "When I was staring at the goo, I had this really weird vision," Huh. So she wasn't the only one. "and then there was this strange little picture of us going through all of the pony cities together, but we were much older. Also, there weren't any changelings following us. It was nice, but, I, well..." "Yes, yes, go on." Blaze encouraged Blizzard. She wanted to know what happened to him. "Okay, I've REALLY wanted to say this. For a long, long time, but I never knew how. I..." Blizzard rambled on again. "Come on, spit it out! It's late." Blaze was starting to wonder why he was being so nervous around her. "FINE! I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU WERE PRETTY AND I HAD A HUGE CRUSH ON YOU BUT I NEVER COULD BRING MYSELF TO TELL YOU 'CAUSE I DIDN'T THINK YOU LIKED ME!! THERE! I SAID IT!" Blizzard screamed, probably loud enough for Chrysalis to hear. Blaze was astonished. Of course they loved each other, but more like siblings, even if they weren't biological. But still, knowing that Blizzard liked her in a different way... it was a lot to take in. All of a sudden, Blaze felt really awful for how she had acted. He was just a lonely guy with no one but an overdramatic unicorn to talk to. He didn't have any other friends at all, even the nicer changelings would all die very fast. And with Queen Chrysalis and Ruin around, niceness was becoming a crime in the changeling kingdom. "Just forget what I said, okay?" Blizzard said a few minutes later. Blaze wanted to tell him too, but she wasn't as brave as Blizzard was. He slowly walked back to the makeshift bed, making every step feel like an eternity. Only until a couple minutes, Blaze jumped on the side of the prickly bed made of pine needles and leaves. "I never should have said that in the first place. I knew you were into smart ponies, not like me. You deserve someone better than me." Blaze couldn't take watching him in this condition anymore. She turned to meet his dark green eyes and said to him, "You're wrong. No one is better than you, Blizzard. I wanted to tell you too, but I was too cowardly to say so. I don't want anyone else... I always wanted someone like you, who never gave up, no matter how hard the challenge. The truth is, I... love you too. In the same way." And there they sat in silence, for a great fraction of the night, until Blizzard pulled her head in and kissed her, right on the lips. Author's Note Ewwwwww, romance scene. jk. anywayzzz( i use that a lot) i stood up until like 11 pm to type this. enjoy, my flurries. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Escape (Blizzard) //-------------------------------------------------------// The Escape (Blizzard) After Blizzard had confessed to Blaze about his love for her, and she confessed to him, there was silence. For at least an hour, maybe. Whenever Blaze glanced at him, he'd slightly look back, but she would have been awkwardly staring at the wall by then. She truly did have some social problems. It was only until Blaze didn't look away that he purposefully met her gaze. He was a little taken back by her vibrant blue eyes, but he didn't look away. Instead, he pulled her head towards his and kissed her. Not like they did when they were mocking Chrysalis as a mother, but full on the lips. Blaze stiffened, but Blizzard didn't let her go. She was his now; she said it herself. After what seemed like forever in heaven, he quietly said so no one next door could hear him, "Forget the changelings. Forget our old life. Let's escape this dungeon, and live our real lives, among creatures of our own kind, who we could laugh and talk with, friends who'd never fade. We could live the life we always wanted." They finally broke apart, and at that same moment, Blaze said, "Yep. I'm done with these uglies. Let them get their own weapons. I'm not getting tested another time. Not ever." They both exchanged a mischievous glance, and then started planning their escape. "Okay, first, we need to go through the main hall without being noticed. Hmmmmmm..... how would that work?" "OH! OH! I know! I could try one of those spells from that book you found a couple of years ago! Who knows, maybe there's one that could make us invisible..." They went on for a long time. Blizzard started to put everything back in order, so that no clues were left. Blaze seemed to be getting pretty far with the book. She had claimed to find many different spells to grant invisibility, but they all seemed nearly impossible for her under-trained magic. But it was worth a try. Author's Note WOOOOO the couple escape! what will happen next? comment what you think! ya ya shortest chapter and all. I HAVE A LIFE U KNOW!
