How It Came To Be
"Princess Luna! I apologize for disturbing your rest but something needs your immediate attention."
Princess Luna growled at the bat-pony, who took a step back. She took a deep breath and let it out. She pushed herself out of bed and joined the night guard and started walking down the hall towards the throne room. Why was she woken up for this? She thought. Her sister is awake, why can't she take care of this? Luna turned to the bat-pony next to her.
"What is so important that I must be woken when my sister is awake? Surely she could handle this." Princess Luna asked.
The guard looked straight ahead for some time before reply. "Princess Celestia.. mi' lady, Princess Celestia is missing!"
Luna looked at the guard and sighed. Sister was always like this, Luna thought. She looked at the guard and asked tiredly, "What is your name?"
The guard stiffened but replied, "Black Flame, Your Majesty."
"And how exactly, Black Flame, did my sister disappear? Did she teleport away? Can you just not find her? Must I remind you that Sister and I are over thousands of years old, and sometimes we decide to get away for a while."
The guard looked at Princess Luna with a look of horror. "Princess Celestia has been kidnapped, mi' lady!"
Luna stared at the guard who stared back. Her muzzle twitched and she let out a laugh. "Who could kidnap Sister? If this is a prank of some kind," she narrowed her eyes at Black Flame, who visually gulped, "the pranksters will be punished."
About this time Luna felt before she saw a wave of energy blow three guards, two night guards and a sun guard, threw the door to the throne room into the wall opposite. Luna immediately charged into the throne room to find the cause of the attack.
Guards of both the Sun and the Night stood around the being heavily chained to the floor. He couldn't move except to blink, which he eerily didn't do. He jut stared straight ahead, his eyes revealing no hint of remorse or compassion. Even his wings, covered in what looked like to be black tar, were bound tightly. He had on only a pair of common trousers, his mane cut short. His piercing blue eyes gave away no emotion towards what he had done. He clenched His teeth as 10,000 volts cut through his body, the power or ten unicorns at work.
"I'll ask you again. Where have you hidden my sister?!" Princess screamed at the prisoner, angrily pacing back and forth in front of him. When he made no response except the same dark stare, Luna leaned in and whispered angrily into his ear, "We will not stop until Sister is returned. You think you know pain? We will show you pain to which the likes of you has never known. Now tell my where you have hidden Sister?!" She screamed the last part into his ear, But he showed no signed of having heard. She glared down at the bound man and nodded to the unicorns again. The bolts of lightning that hit him blinded the guards as they light up the room and electrocuted the mysterious man, the chains acting like a conductor. Luna motioned for the unicorns to stop and turned back to the man that was bound. She waited to see if he would at last speak. Then, after what seemed like an eternity, he raised his eyes to Luna defiantly and slowly opened his mouth to speak. His voice was deep and celestial, reminding all in the room that he was a force to be reckoned with.
"My name is Lucifer, Left Hand of God." He glared at Luna and spat out hatefully, "First of the Fallen."
Luna breathed in an angry breath and looked into the man's eyes.This man, this Lucifer, had given her so much anger in the past few hours. Since she couldn't read his mind, they had been trying more primitive ways to extract the location of Sister. She shuddered inwardly. The man's mind was like an abyss, swirling with evil, hate, and a dark will, one of which that would make Nightmare Moon shiver in fear. She had barely survived the brief connection with Lucifer, and as soon as she found Sister, they were going to call upon the Elements of Harmony to banish this monster.
Luna tried once more, "Well Lucifer, please share with us what you have down with Sister and we will let you go. On your word not to hurt anypony."
He glared at her before a slow smile grew upon his face. He let out a chilling laugh, Luna and most of the guards feeling as if worms had crawled upon their skin, shuddered in disgust. After the moment of amusement passed for him, he glared at the Princess of the Night. "Do not lie to me horse. I am the King of Lies. I know the deceit in every man, woman, and child's words, and your sentence drips with it." He said venomously.
Luna grit her teeth and nodded towards the unicorns. They immediately hit him again with lightning bolts, but this time he just laughed. She motioned for the unicorns to stop again. She growled at Lucifer and decided to try things with a different element.
"Lucifer, I have noticed your wings are covered in tar." She said, trying to make the comment seem innocent as possible, for the idea forming in her head was going to be quite painful for him. She noticed he seemed to grit his teeth at his words before she continued. "If I recall, tar is highly flammable, and burns quite beautifully. Shall we see if my memory is good?"
Lucifer just stared at her in anger.
Luna shrugged and used her magic to start a blaze on his wings. The fire spread quickly along the tar covered wings, and his screams of pain and anguish made Luna think she may have gone too far, and would forever lose her chance to find Sister. Then she noticed that he wasn't just screaming, but he was laughing maniacally, as if two voices, both his, were doing to different things.
As Luna watched, the flames slowly died out. His feathery, tar covered wings were no more. Instead, there was two leathery wings, almost draconic. They where the color of an angry red burn, but they weren't bleeding or blistering. Luna turned her attention to Lucifer's face and was shocked by what she saw. Lucifer's calm composure he had kept through the whole process was gone. What replaced it chilled Luna to the bone. He was smiling maniacally, the face matching the laughter she had heard from him earlier. His eyes had changed colors, too. The piercing blue eyes were gone, replaced with eyes the color of the tar that had resided upon his wings. The black had expanded past his pupils, both of hs eyes now completely black.
He smiled wider as to dots appeared on his forehead. The dots grew larger, busting the skin as two large curved horns grew their way out of Lucifer's skull, his eyes never leaving Luna's. Finally the transformation was complete, presenting Luna and the guards with her with the most horrifying thing they had ever seen in all of Equestria. He laughed again as he tensed. You could hear the sounds of chains snapping as he lifted himself from his binds. He grew larger and soon stood over Luna's head by at least four feet. He smiled down at the ponies around him. He gave one last maniac laugh before pointing at the throne. The guards stood transfixed in fear, but Luna was able to turn to see what he had pointed at. On the throne was a very ragged and burned Celestia. Luna, forgetting the dangers behind her, ran to her sister. She gently helped Celestia stand and turned her gaze at the fearful demon, for that was all she could describe it as, and gulped, knowing that this was the end of both her,Celestia, and the rest of the ponies that they ruled.
Lucifer however,had other plans, which he addressed as his voice filled the throne room. "I am Lucifer, Left Hand of God, First of the Fallen, King of Lies, and Ruler of all Evil. I hereby strike a pact with the Equestrian Princesses of Night and Day for their lives and the lives of their subjects. I will rule a realm known as Tartarus, where all true evil shall be sent to me. In return for this, I will spare your lives, along with the lives of all of your subjects without true evil in their heart. And so shall it be, until the Day of Reckoning is upon us and I will march out of Tarturus and slay all, to let them be judged for their actions in the Afterlife. So I decree, it shall be done."
And with that he disappeared, teleporting in a blaze of hellfire, leaving both princesses relieved and horrified. Relieved that their lives were spared, yet horrified that death will come for all, on a day that no one knew for certain.
Luna gaze turned to her Sister as she asks gently, "Sister.. what happened?"
Celestia returned her gaze with a hollow stare filled with pain and suffering as she mumbled softly, "I was sent to Tartarus..."
Filthy Rich closes the book and smiles at Diamond Tiara, who is shaking in her bed, clutching the sheets, and says, "The End."
Diamond Tiara stops shaking and looks up at her father with a frown on her face. "That can't be the end! Did they ever find him? Did they ever kill him?"
Filthy Rich frowns at his daughter and says, "You should never want to know if someone was killed. It may just end you there in Tarturus with all those evil people." He says the second part as he starts to tickly his daughter. Diamond Tiara squeals with laughter and attempts to stop her father's hooves. Finally Filthy Rich stops and lets Diamond Tiara catch her breath.
Diamond Tiara gasps for air and asks, "Well, did they ever find him?"
Filthy Rich chuckles as he stands and tucks his daughter into bed. "No, nopony ever found Lucifer. Goodnight, Princess."
"Goodnight, Daddy." She says, yawning and snuggling into her bed.
Filthy Rich smiles as he turns off the light. He gently closes her bedroom door and blinks, his eyes turning completely black as he smiles.
