Hurrying down the evening sun-lit path to the park Spike almost screamed out with excitement. He was successful. It had been a few years since he actually met Rarity, giving him the height of a mare like her, the two perfectly sized. It gave him thoughts of a greater intimate relationship. New things always showed up in his mind. He had reached his mid-adolescence. Soon he'd be bigger than rarity, but that wouldn't be for a full two years. Being a dragon had greater upsides to it than most others.
As he came to the sight where he had asked Rarity to meet him for the date, he almost fell over as he skid to a stop. His heart almost quite literally dropped. Several hundred things went through his head at that instance. Moving the obstacle itself, yelling at it, inanimate or not, or just picnicking on top of it.
But he stopped all thought and looked down at the pink dragoness at his feet. She was soundly sleeping, not even in a comfortable looking pose. It looked like she had crashed and the nearby broken trees confirmed the suspicions. Bending down on his knee, Spike shook the pink dragoness lightly.
With a start she awoke, screaming out, then letting her head fall back to it's position once quieting down. She moaned as she stretched, obviously a few cramps in unwanted places, as she squirmed for a second before standing up and streching, many audible pops resulting.
"Uhm, you ok?", Spike asked.
"Oh, hello, whats this?", she said, sniffing the basket.
"Whoa, hey! Thats mine!"
"Oh, sorry...It's just that I haven't eaten in the past few days, what with all the flying and migration."
"The great dragon migration ended four days ago."
"What?! But! But! That means! Oh no! I was following mother, I don't even know where they went!"
"Whoa, whoa, calm down. What do you remember last?"
"Uhm...I can't quite remember easily, but I do remember what I saw last. Yes, definitely. I was following mother and I looked down. Then nothing. I must've blacked out or passed out, something."
"What's your name?"
"Pink. Azure Pink. In concordance to my eyes and scale color. Mother and Father were not the brightest of dragons."
"Wow, you're right, you have blue eyes. And they're beautiful."
"Ahem!", Rarity interrupted.
"Oh, sorry Rarity. Pink, Why don't you ask Twilight if she could help you find someone to stay with for a while till we get you back on your feet...Er...Back in the air."
"I...I don't think I'll be flying for a while. My wing feels like it's been broken."
"Ask for nurse Red Heart. She can help. She does things like so all the time with pegasi."
"Ok, thank you...uhm..."
"Spike."
"Thank you Spike."
He smiled to her and she only looked away.
"Uhm, where do I start walking?"
"Rarity, think you can help her with a bit of magic?"
"I'd love to.", Rarity replied.
With a spark of her magic, the dragoness had disappeared into blue light, reappearing in the library that Twilight owned and lived in. Looking around, she saw a bunch of books, as accustomed to a library, and looked across the room at Owlowicious, which stood on his perch, staring.
"I don't suppose you are Twilight?"
"Who?"
"Twilight, the person Spike told me of."
"Who?"
"Twilight, I said Twilight."
"Who?"
"The person I need to see!"
"You were looking for me?", Twilight spoke up.
She was wearing a mage hat and a mage's attire, which made her look like some powerful person to the pink dragoness.
"Are you Twilight?"
"Twilight sparkle, head of Princess Celestia's mage core, at your service."
Mage? But then wouldn't you be somewhere bigger?"
"Ah, good question. The basement below is bigger than the space it was cast in. Simple space dimension spell. This is just the entrance, as well as my living quarters."
"Well, if you can, would you please help me?"
"What do you need help with?"
"One, I need to know where Mother went. Two, I need my wing fixed, it hurts a lot."
"Give me a few seconds and I can get you back in the air, headed straight home."
"Ok."
As promised, Twilight had cast the magic and Pink's wing fixed itself quite literally, snapping the bone back in place and creating an even worse pain that died down quickly as it healed.
"Oh, thank you!"
"Now, as for your Mother, we don't track mother dragons, but the spells we have can track anything through something that belonged to those we need found. Do you have anything from your mother A scalle, claw, recently ingested milk?"
"No, I don't have a scale or claw, and I haven't fed from Mother in over five years."
"Sorry to get so personal, it just helps. Do you have a description?"
"She's a dragon about yea big, blood red, and breathes fire."
"Oooooooooook, lets move on to another spell. Do you remember her voice?"
"Never paid much attention."
Do you remember the direction you were going when you landed?"
"I passed out in mid air, the last thing I remember was watching mother then I looked down into teh foggy landscape."
"Smell?"
"Nope."
"Weight?"
"Why would I know Mother's weight?"
Uhm...Sibligns that you might know anything of this of?"
"Sorry...but no."
"I got nothin. Sorry, but we just can't help you find your parents or family unless we have something that one of them owned. Maybe if we found a dragon scale from the great dragon migration, the we could track any one of the very many that migrated."
"Oh...ok then."
"If you'd like, you can stay here. I mean, I guess Spike wouldn't mind."
"Well, he was really nice to me."
"Oh? Well then you two should get along nicely. Would you liek something to eat? Drink? Not hungry and just tired?"
"A little of all three."
"I'll make you some lunch and get you a big cushion to sleep on."
"Thank you."
Finishing the last of the delicious gemstones which Twilight had gotten for her, Pink licked her lips and downed the rest of the milk, giving out a long sigh.
"Was it good?"
"I haven't had Gems this pure since Mother stopped giving milk."
"Well, then if you think that was wonderful, here's that cushion for you to sleep on. I can guarantee that it feels a lot better than any cave floor or pile of gems."
"Thank you, again."
"Don't mention it."
Nodding, Pink made her way over to the blue cushion and sat down, then stretched, curling up in the center as she slept.
