Twilight wakes up to a bright morning, she yawns and stretches her wings. Her rest was delightful. She gets out of her bed, and gets to her normal daily routine. Twilight trots down her stairs of wood, a creak here and there, she ignores. Spike wakes up soon after, nearly ready to help Twilight with whatever she may need. He yawns, and Twilight heads down to her bathroom. She combs her fur, and brushes her mane and tail. After doing so, she doesn't look like a earthquake just hit both her fur and hair.
As she goes out to check if her mail has arrived, she see's Derpy Whooves with her mail bag by her side.
"Good morning Miss... Uhh.." Derpy had forgotten Twilight's name once again, but it did not bother her.
"Sparkle." Twilight spoke a soft tone in her voice, yet tired due to just waking moments ago.
Derpy flies down and hands Twlight her mail, "I'll try to remember one of these days! You'll see Miss Sparkle." She spoke with hope in her voice.
"Thankyou for my mail, and I wish you good luck." She waves goodbye as Derpy goes to deliver more mail to other ponies within Ponyville. She turns around and waves back,and then continues to fly off.
As she looks through her mail, she spots a pink letter, and with many pictures of balloons and such over it, and it must have been sent by Pinkie Pie. Opening the letter, confetti springs out! She jumps just a bit, she never see's it coming, always getting her by surprise.
Levitating the letter out, she reads,
"Dear Twilight,
Your invited to Gummy's 2nd birthday party this afternoon! Please come to the party, there will be cake and games and other things, including Gummy, of course!
Your Friend,
Pinkie Pie"
Twilight encloses the letter, and goes inside to inform spike about the party she will be attending that afternoon, "Spike, are you up?"
Spike looks over to Twilight, "Yeah, what's up Twi?"
"I'm going to a party this afternoon to celebrate Gummy's second birthday, so I will not be needing you then, so when I go to the party, feel free to do what you wish." She looks over to Spike, with that certain look he knows, the look that speaks for itself, don't do anything stupid.
"Alright Twilight. Do you need me for anything right now?" Spike asks eagerly, ready to help her.
Twilight looks around a moment, "No not as of right now, thanks for the offer though spike." Twilight gestures for spike to come to herself, and he does so. "Hey spike want to come with me and look for a gift for Gummy around town?"
Spike is quick to come, he rushes over to Twilight, "Sure! He is kind of like family after all, were both reptiles! You told me that, remember?"
Twilight laughs slightly, "Yes, I did, I am glad you remembered." She smiles.
Spike with pride nods his head, "Yep! Now let's get going looking for a present for Gummy!" And spike makes an effort to push Twilight out of the door. She stops resisting and just walks, she levitates the door open and they go out into the plaza of PonyVille.
As they walk through the plaza they see a store filled with toys, right by Sugar Cube Corner, Twilight and spike go into the small store. Looking at the assorts of toys, spike rushes through them, looking for the perfect thing to get Gummy. And after a few minutes of searching he finds the perfect toy, a small ball, with bumps and color of pink, that squeaks. He holds it up and yells, "I found it! The perfect toy for Gummy!" Twilight looks over.
"Alrighty then, let's get it for him." Twilight and spike go to the counter, "I would like to buy this toy."
The store clerk looks at the toy, and then speaks, "That will be one bit please." And he looks over to Twilight.
She reaches into her saddlebag and gives the clerk the one bit, "There you go. Have a nice day." She nods, and the clerk nods back, now it was time to go home and wrap this present.
Twilight and spike head back to the library, and when they get there after a few minutes of trotting through PonyVille, and spike riding on Twilight's back, she opens the door, and they go inside. Books scattered around and quills lay about here and there, Owlicious sleeps on her perch, since she is nocturnal and all. Twilight tidies the room, and gets out some streamer, a colorful box, conviently the right size for the small toy, and Twilight wraps the present, with the assistance of spike.
After a few hours of tidying up the library, afternoon crept up on Twilight and spike, spike looks at the time, "It's afternoon! Time to get to that party Twilight!"
Twilight looks over to the clock, and quickly levitates the present into her saddlebag, "Alright spike, just make sure the place does not become a mess while I'm gone." And once again, the look without need of words is given again, spike gives his look of a puppy, silently promising that nothing will happen while she is gone, and Twilight nods. She heads out of the door to Gummy's party.
Twilight trots to Sugar Cube Corner, and into the candy building, Twillight is greeted by Pinkie Pie staring her in the face, she slightly jumps.
"Hey Twilight! Welcome to Gummy's party! His presents go over on the green table over there!" And Pinkie Pie points over to a table something of a bit in a corner, but not quite. Twilight trots over to the table, and drops off her present by three others that are already there. She trots into the middle of the room to see Rainbow Dash flying in the air, busting her tail as she dances to the music, she also see's Apple Jack hanging out by the Apple dunking bucket, filled with water, and apples. And by the table of small and fancy looking foods is Rarity, explaining the over-decorated present at the table.
Twilight chats with Rarity for a while about her clothing line and how her fashion world is going, and a few minutes of that passes when Fluttershy comes through the door, a present atop one of her wings, she puts it on the table of other presents after being greeted by Pinkie Pie.
Fluttershy goes to the midst of the room, and Pinkie goes there as well, "Alrighty Everypony, the alligator you've been waiting for has arrived!!!" Pinkie yells with joy as she jumps up and down, Gummy waddles into the room, and stops in the middle, listening to the music he shakes his little tail back and forth, and the rest of the mane six dance to the music with Gummy.
Twenty minutes of dancing passes, and Pinkie announces, "Time for Gummy to open his presents!" She bounces over to the table and grabs one present at a time in her muzzle and places them on the floor. She wait for Gummy to waddle to them, but he is pre-occupied by the music, she she gets him and puts him near the presents, seeing them he gnaws on one. Pinkie Pie opens it, coming from Fluttershy is a teddy bear, and Gummy sits by it and nuzzles the bear, showing that he loves it, and giving a mental Thankyou, "No problem Gummy, I knew you would love it, Everypony does!" Fluttershy flaps her wings ever so slightly as she flutters in joy. Going to the next present, Gummy gnaws on a box, covered in few gems, he tries to eat one, but before he can Pinkie Pie opens it, coming from Rarity is a bow tie, just the size for Gummy, a purple one with small red gems on it. Gummy shakes his little tail back and forth as he wears it. Rarity simply nods with a proud smile upon her face.
After the opening of the rest of the three presents, and Gummy loving them all, the party nears it's end, but not quite, Pinkie, with Gummy on her back, hops over to the table near the middle of the room, and on the table was cake and other goodies. She lets Gummy onto the table, and he takes a bite out of a blue sprinkled cupcake. And the rest of the ponies dog into the other goodies, including the cake.
Soon after the eating, the party is ending, when Twilight gets an idea, "Hey girls, come here, I have an idea!" Twilight announces to the group, and they surround her.
"What is it darling?" Rarity asks.
"What's on your mind?" Applejack questions.
"What's up?" Rainbowdash says, with her front legs crossed as she hovers in the air.
"What is it Twilight?" Fluttershy barely whispers.
"What type of super wonderful and amazing idea do you have Twilight?!" Pinkie excitedly yells while asking.
"I was thinking, and I thought, how about a sleep over at the library to celebrate Gummy's second birthday?!?" Twilight exclaimed to the group, they all jumped up with joy, all cheering yes!
"Alright alright girls, I'll meet you at the library in about an hour, I'm going to go and get prepared. Making sure there is a place for all of you, including Gummy." Twilight smiles slightly, then runs out, "See you then!"
Noon reaches overhead and Pinkie still was not awake, "Okay, I think it's time to get Nurse Redheart, this just isn't right." Twilight said to the other four, "I'll go and get her, you girls stay here in case Pinkie does wake up." Twilight dashes out of her door, and into PonyVille to go find Nurse Redheart, and luckily, she is at her clinic, in the midst of the plaza.
Twilight levitates the clinic door open with no haste, and no time to waste. "Nurse Redheart!" Twilight yells into the clinic, Nurse Redheart turns around, being frightened from the random burst of loud in her quiet clinic.
"What is it Miss Sparkle?" Nurse Redheart calmly asks.
"You're needed at the library, something's wrong with Pinkie Pie." Twilight explained to Nurse Redheart, and she knows Pinkie Pie well, she hasn't heard of her, of all ponies, not being in perfect health.
Nurse Redheart grabs a first-aid kit, and along with Twilight they hurry to the library. Reaching it in no less than a minute, they go in. Nurse Redheart see's Pinkie on the floor, and she asks the other four, "Can you girls explain what is wrong with Pinkie Pie?"
And immediately Rarity answers, "Well darling, she went to sleep last night like all the rest of us did, since we were having a sleep-over, but this morning, and up until now, she hasn't woken up."
"Hmm.." Nurse Redheart thinks for just a moment, then pulls out her stethoscope, she puts the stethoscope onto Pinkie's chest, "Well, she still has heart beat. So she is alive. And since she isn't waking up.." Once again she puts her mind to try to figure what is going on.
"What did she do as of all day yesterday?" Nurse Redheart asks.
Twilight answers, "I think she was planning the party she had yesterday for Gummy. The small alligator by her side." Twilight points him out to Nurse Redheart.
"Oh I know Gummy, he's visited my clinic once or twice for check-up. And the fact that she planned and threw a party yesterday.. Well she does that a lot. So I don't know what to say." Nurse Redheart thinks once again, trying to wrap her mind around this situation. There was only one solution to this, "Girls, if what I'm thinking is correct, and by the information you have given me... I think I have no choice but to theorize that Pinkie..." She pauses, looking as to see if the rest are listening, and they are, "Pinkie might be in a coma."
The girls look at Nurse Redheart with there eyes wide, and also they all gasp in unison.
"A coma?!" They all exclaim.
Nurse Redheart nods, "Sadly enough, it may be true. And she may wake up, or she won't. It all depends on her brain, and body."
The five of the six look at Pinkie, and see Gummy up, but stayed snuggled close to her, it looks almost sad. But Pinkie smiles as she rest, probably dreaming of something great, not knowing she may or may not wake up.
Twilight and the rest of the five look through the library, looking for ways to cure Pinkie of a coma, maybe ways or rituals or spells on how to do so. They hurry, since Pinkie was most likely running out of time.
After about an hour of searching, spike finds a book of awakening, "Twilight! I think I found something that might help!" Twilight immediately rushes over to him, and levitates the book, she flips through it and finds a spell, not specifically for coma's but it may help. She reads through the interactions on how to perform this spell, it requires two unicorns of strong power, since Twilight is an Alicorn, just in case she will have Rarity help her with the spell in case her power is not enough to make it work correctly.
"Rarity. I need you to help me with a spell. It's an awakening spell, and I think it may just work." Twilight says to Rarity, she trots over and reads the spell. She memorizes it and looks to Twilight.
"Alright darling, I will help you in this spell, to help revive Pinkie Pie!" She stomped one hoof in excitement, hoping the spell will work. And nods.
Twilight prepares for the spell, and both Rarity and Twilight, Unicorn and Alicorn, put all their focus into Pinkie for this spell to work.
They light their horns both and Twilight begins the spell, along with Rarity.
Being difficult for Rarity, Twilight does perform the majority of the spell, to ease her stress. "Don't worry Rarity, we're almost done!" she says to Rarity, and she just continues to focus on Pinkie.
Finally, a beam of magic is sent to Pinkie, a beam of awakening. It hits Pinkie's sleeping body, but has no effect. Gummy looks up at Pinkie with sorrow, but hope that Pinkie will awaken.
Twilight hangs her head in shame, "Ugh... I," she takes a breath, "Can't... Believe the spell didn't work.."
Rarity looks down as well, she breathes heavily due to never having to use that much magic at once, especially all focused into one certain pony, and it failed. The two magical ponies' hopes were lowered that Pinkie will ever wake up.
"Well.. Ya did your best girls. But w'need to keep lookin' for things to help Pinkie wake on up." Apple Jack said to the group.
"Yeah." Fluttershy said, continuing to look through Twilight's books.
"How about we wake this lazy pony with brute force?!" Rainbow Dash said to the group, and grabs Pinkie. She starts to shake her, but Gummy just ends up falling out of his grasp of Pinkie. Rainbow Dash puts Pinkie back down, and the rest of the group just look at her like they've seen a mad pony.
Wide-eyed and bushy tailed, Fluttershy has a suggestion, "Maybe, we can reverse her coma, and put her into a sleep, then wake her up?"
Twilight looked shocked, "Oh why didn't I think of that??" she looks over to Fluttershy, "Could you sing a lullaby to Pinkie like you do for your animal friends?"
Fluttershy nods and flies over by Pinkie, and lays down next to her and Gummy. Gummy looks at up Fluttershy with his big lizard eyes, Fluttershy smiles and starts to sing her lullaby.
"Hush now quiet now it's time to lay your sleepy head,
hush now quiet now it's time to go to bed.." she sings over and over, very soothingly, the other four nearly fall asleep themselves. but Pinkie remains in her state of coma, they could all tell, she just didn't seem like herself.
They couldn't find anything that would work, but they needed something, anything, that would awaken Pinkie Pie.
Twilight finishes preparing for the others to come, and hears a knocks at the door, she quickly flies downstairs and levitates the door open to see five smiling candy colored ponies standing at the door.
"Hey girls, come on in!" Twilight moves out I the way, and the five, and Gummy, all rush in, Gummy hangs onto Pinkie's tail. They all thank Twilight for inviting them, and when they are finished unpacking their saddlebags, and getting themselves organized for about twenty-five minutes, Twilight pulls out a flashlight, and turns out the lights, "It's time for stories!"
Rainbowdash flies to Twilight and snatches the flashlight, "I've got a story!" She exclaims, and starts to tell this horrifying story.
"There was once some stallions in a distant country, that wanted to do an expirement on some stallions that survived the war, and were criminals. So they prepared a chamber for them, making sure to put the essential surviving things like food, and beds. And hooking it up to a gassing machine, so that it emits gas that will keep the stallions awake. They wanted to keep them awake for a full moon cycle." Rainbow Dash pauses and looks at the other five, Pinkie inching at Rainbow, Rarity slightly hiding behind a pillow, and Twilight and Fluttershy looking scared enough. Rainbow dash decides to stop, "Heh, that's enough for one night." She lays down, "I'm calling it a night. I'm tired from that awesome party Pinkie threw today." Rainbow Dash yawns and waves, and almost instantly falls asleep. The rest decide to go to sleep as well, as it was late enough. And they all get into their spots, and go to sleep. Pinkie with Gummy, Twilight on her bed, Rainbow Dash on the first floor living room floor, Rairty and Fluttershy share the spare bed besides Twilight's, Fluttershy found a perch to sleep on for the night, and they all sleep.
Morning breaks the next day, and 5 of the six wake up, Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Apple Jack, Pinkie still slept.
"She must really be tired." Twilight stated, then yawned, "She did plan and throw that party yesterday after all." Twilight went down to her kitchen by flight, and landed softly on her hooves. She prepares pancakes for them all, and they eat. Pinkie still hasn't awoken, and now they worry.
"I've never seen her sleep for so long, she's usually awake by now.." Fluttershy states to the rest of the group, seeming the most worried about Pinkie, the pony of parties.
