Chapter 1: The Oncoming Storm
Its been 2 years since the changelings 2nd attack on Canterlot, They were less subtle than before using less spy's and in their place were highly trained changeling squads known as infiltrators they usually hid. In the dark alley ways of Canterlot's inner city, snatching up unsuspecting guards who were never heard from or seen again. . . .
Everypony knew something was going on no matter how hard Princess Celestia or Princess Luna and the elements of harmony tried to keep it hidden. . . . But in the end nothing stays safe or hidden forever. Seeing as how everypony now knew they were in danger. This lead to citywide panic and changeling infiltrators coming out of the shadows and soon the changelings saw their opportunity to strike at the very heart of the city, But first they had to weaken it this started the endless raids which would involve foalnapping, slaughter, and warnings written in a deep red color similar to blood. . . . .
You could sometimes make out a message that would bring you to your knees or else make you paranoid such as leading you to believe that you were being watched either by changelings or by something worse which was never far from the truth. *sigh* The remainder of Canterlot's citizens that weren't scared for their lives took up arms against a gang of infiltrators during a raid on a local blacksmith shop that used to belong to Iron Blade a red pegasi with a black mane that had a electric red streak in it. He was always willing to help out others and kind to all his shop was small but helped fixed most broken objects for most of Canterlot's snobs, That raid was the last time anyone ever saw him. . . . .
"Rainbow dash darling! we need you out here for a scouting assignment!" Rarity shouted from the opening of the rather small army tent that served as sleeping quarters for dashie.
"I'll be with you in a minute Rarity just let me finish up here" Rainbow dash replied
"Anyways where was I?" Right the 3 pegasus and the 2 unicorns that fought during the raid managed to fend off the changelings at the cost their lives only two survived a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane and a white unicorn with a violet mane and with what little energy they had together they delivered a message to Princess Luna, Princess Celestia and the other 4 elements of harmony. This has been corporal Rainbow dash signing off at 2:27 date May 23, 2014 goodbye.
As Rainbow dash proceeded to turn off the PC she thought to herself, only because the dam thing wouldn't stay turned off, why am I always picked for scouting missions? why can't they just pick somepony else? like Fluttershy? She already knew the answers to these questions because the answers were as simple as that.
Rainbow dash was in the top 5 for stealth missions ( Dashie being at the top ) and was best hidden when she wanted to be Fluttershy on the other hoof would have been quieter due to her whisper like tone and her way of dealing with wild animals but she somehow always managed to step on a twig or fall out of her hiding place which was usually the downfall for her during training exercises.
Rainbow had finally managed to keep the PC turned off and proceeded to the outside of the tent which was actually quite small for corporal living quarters. She immediately saw Rarity over by a leafless tree talking to Fluttershy who was wearing her private gear, a camo jacket and a small helmet which had a picture of Twilight, AppleJack, Pinkie pie, Rarity, Rainbow and herself along with spike. Rairity was wearing the same but her helmet had her cutiemark sprayed on the side. When Rainbow dash approached them they seemed a bit nervous which was not unusual seeing as their camp was on the outskirts of canterlot's ruins but it made Rainbow dash wonder what they were talking about and just how dangerous her mission was. She was completely oblivious to the fact that this mission would change everything. Rainbow dash started talking to Rarity to see where and what she was supposed to be scouting out.
"Hello Rainbow dash how did the video recording go? no troubles with the PC i hope" rarity said in a somewhat normal manner
"Not bad but ya i did have a bit of trouble with the PC, at the end it wouldn't stay turned" Rainbow dash informed her
"Oh sorry to hear that but surely we can get this all sorted out sometime"
"n-no need to worry dashie" Fluttershy peeped up
"ya i guess but still you think we could have salvaged something better, Oh well where and what am I supposed to be scouting?"
"oh I have the assignment folder, Here" fluttershy said while handing to Rainbow
"ok lets see. . . . They want me to scout out the Canterlot hero's graveyard for any changelings that are supposebly using necromancy to revive something. . . . .great.. . .. as if changelings weren't bad enough.." Rainbow was really hoping to scout out the area near Zecora's burnt tree hut she had spotted a rather big timber wolf over there about 3 weeks ago and the thought was gnawing at the back of her head.
Fluttershy saw a tear forming in Dashie's left eye she wanted to comfort her so she decided to point out the conditions for the mission
"Look at the bottom Rainbow" she said bearly audible
"Yes please do darling" Rarity said almost to happily seeing as how she hadn't notice the tear that had fallen from Dashie
"ok hold your horses Rarity (quiet murmering) Corporal Rainbow dash is to be accompanied by privates Fluttershy and Rairity! Leave as soon you have your gear and supplies!" She had found something positive about this assignment she was a bit depressed about the location to where they were supposed to be scouting but wouldn't admit if asked about it.
She would later discover that her friends are the only thing that's kept her sane in this apocalyptic world
yes! she shouted in her head while on the outside she smiled a wide smile and dashed to the 2 individual tents her corporal tent and unit tent 17 that housed them and seven other troops.
after about twelve minutes of rummaging through a small variety of military gear she had acquired everything she needed from supplies, three sets of night goggles
