Chapter 1:
A Weird Dream

Hey guys thanks for taking the time to read my story. This is my first chapter I wrote. I hope you guys like it and tell me what it would need if you feel like something is missing. If you’re asking where I got this idea, well it just came to me like that. But yeah hope you enjoy!

“Wake up man! Wake up!” My vision was blurred for couple of seconds but when it came back, I didn’t like the image I saw. The building I was in was, let’s say, not a building anymore. A building isn’t a building when the walls are almost completely destroyed. I was actually lying on the ground, facing a man. Was he a man? No, scratch that. Horse… with a horn? As I started to regain partial sight, I realized he was also blocky and did have a horn, plus it was glowing? “Probably just my sight,” I thought. “Wake up! Are you alright? That was a big fall you just took! Come on! Get up or else we’ll have another big fall!” It was true, we were in a building, that was probably two hundred stories tall, and we were situated somewhere around the one hundred and thirtieth floor. I got up and looked around me. What I saw were machines surrounding me, some of them had some liquid running through pipes and others had almost a thousand buttons on them with lights indicating errors. But one in particular was standing out from the others. It seemed like a teleporter. I didn’t pay attention to that because my attention was drawn to the fact that we were about to die. I remembered the man or horse-thing that was over me when I woke up. I turned around to see who it was but as soon as I went to turn around, the building started to fall. The shaking of the building sent me flying into the machines that were beside me. But the third time I was flailed around, I didn’t hit any machines. Instead, I started to fall out the window. Falling wasn’t pleasant. Probably because I was falling to my death. My life flashed before my eyes, as I thought about what I could have done better with it. Suddenly, I saw something flying after me. But I didn’t have time to turn around before it hit me…
My waking was brutal. Since I was sleeping in a bunk bed with my research partner, and I have the top one and it’s almost glued to the ceiling, I woke up to find myself hitting my head on the ceiling. Rubbing my head with my hand from the pain, I leaned over to see if my partner is still in bed. But all I saw were his blankets on the floor and the pillow was sitting up on the wall. What in the world did he do last night? Well probably not my business. After a couple minutes, I decided I should probably get out of bed. As we have a lot of things to research. I jumped down and walked out of the door. Our room isn’t the best thing you can have, but also not the worse. It had a bathroom and bunk bed, which are pretty basic essentials. But we also had a window which gave out to a polluted city. It’s not very nice but it’s better than no window at all. And we also had a tiny computer to keep track of everything happening around the world. I walked out of the door to find my co-worker still working on his project. He was currently fixing one of his machine. It’s supposed to be able to teleport through dimensions. I had sometimes thought he was crazy, until the day when he did something no one expected. He managed to open a tiny window, allowing you to see another dimension. We couldn’t make out what was on the other side, but all we know is that the living things on the other side were not humans. The life-forms were more like four legged creatures. I kept saying to myself, “How could he possibly open a portal that could really send people to the unknown dimensions?” He only opened a window so that we can kind of see through it. Not much though. And even though, wouldn’t it be dangerous to send someone in another dimension without knowing if the things living there are hostile? They can even be more intelligent than us! But still, I helped him even if I didn’t entirely agree on his research. But anything to get out from this polluted planet called Earth. It has been hit by several atomic bombs and won’t last for another. We have no winter. It’s always around fifty degrees outside. But thanks god we made a machine that produces cold wind. Or else, we would have to wear nothing, expect underwear’s… But all our machinery aren’t helping, even though we attached about ten fans on each of them, they still produce hot air. But it only lifts the temperature up to twenty degrees. But I had to hurry up in my morning routine. Cause today was not a normal one. We have something special going on today, very special. We were meeting with five more scientists who claimed they made a machine that is supposed to do what our machine is supposed to do. We don’t really believe it, it’s the hardest thing in the world and it acquires a lot of knowledgement on physics. And seeing the world is almost destroyed, schools have shut down, or have been blown up, and no class are giving what so ever. So how can someone know about physics so much? We, of course, are old so we went years ago. But, I think this may be a trap of some sort…

Today wasn't special. We were working on how to make the machine work better and not only open a window. We also made a remote controlled teleporter which will basically teleport us back to the machine, it is also supposed to follow us wherever we go. And if it doesn't... well, we’re pretty much screwed. My friend was working on the electronics of our invention because it was taking too much power. We needed to unplug everything on our floor to make only a window appear. Imagine a door that we can go throw. It would probably give a power outage to our block, perhaps even the city.
As my friend was working in the wiring of it, something weird happened. Some sort of light appeared from the machine and got brighter and brighter. We were both blinded by the light for about ten seconds. After that, it got less intense and allowed us to see something we wanted to see for a long time. A door. It had the number one on it. The door was closed so we couldn't see the other side. But we were impatient and opened the door. This place was... well... colorful. I couldn't wait to go discover this new land. This was nicer than how Earth looked, and more colorful. With my urge to go in, my partner stopped me and said, "We should check first if a duplicate of the machine has been sent to this place." I followed his orders, and checked if it was there. But without realizing how high we were, the two of us both jumped thinking that we were just three meters from the ground. Instead, we were about ten meters. The fall, let's just say, hurt like hell.
On the other side, the door closed behind us with a big noise. We were afraid it would alert anyone. But it didn't, we seemed to be in a place where humans live because we were in an apple tree farm. But we saw a huge red barn in the distance. Could this be the Earth's past? We decided to walk over to the barn see if anyone was there. As we were getting closer, I kept having a feeling that some of the clouds in the sky were moving rather strangely, but I just kept telling myself, "Well I just fell ten meters, so it is probably my head that got damaged a little."
When we were at the entrance, I knocked and said: "Hello? Is anyone here?" But no answer. So we decided to enter. All we saw was, well, what you usually find in a barn. At that time, we heard a noise coming from outside. As we turned around, we saw a little head peeking at the door. But it ran away when it saw us. So we decided to follow this person so that probably he would bring us to some town or somewhere where there are people. But this guy was fast. He was on a horse too. But he must have been small because we could almost only see the horse. The guy ran into a town full of, well, I couldn't even tell you what there was. Horses. That was the only thing there. The town was also colorful. We made a decision to enter the town and probably ask for a room for the rest and then take off the next day to show our world our creation. So we got closer and closer to finally walking in the town. All the horses stopped. They were looking at us, gasping, whispering to each other. And, wait, they were whispering to each other means they talked! We knew by then that there was no humans in this dimension. Only horses, well, we can more call them ponies since they looked smaller. And they were also colorful, like the rest of the town. They had tattoos on their butts and their mane was sometimes different colors. I also saw some of these ponies slowly going back in their houses. It was all quite when suddenly out of nowhere a completely pink one jumped from a barrel and screamed: "Everyone run for you lives!" Then it just went all in panic mode. Every ponies started running everywhere. We saw some gold plated ones rushing towards us from the air. But these ones had wings. So they're not ponies. Pegasus? This dimension is... And then it hits me. Or the two, what seemed as guards. I was knocked out in a deep comma.

So there I was, caught in the air by something that flies. It seemed to be a Pegasus. It was rainbow colored. As I was looking behind me, I could see the building that I fell from falling. I thought Immediately about that man, or whatever he was, who woke me up before the building fell. I was wondering if he made it out, if a Pegasus also catch him before falling with the building. But why was the building like this? Why was the world around me being destroyed? As I was about to look at my hands for some reason, my vision began to blur up. My hands were, red, well if you call them hands. They were also blocky, like my arm and hands were rectangle. And I had no wrist. So I decided to try to look at my feet before I would lose my vision, but that's when I woke up.
