The New Dog Down the Street

I gave Melody the bag of cookies I made for her. "There ya go, Mel!" I said to my best Pegasus friend. "Thanks, Pocky," Melody said back to me, accepting the bag of delicious food. "You're welcome! I'm always in for helping my friends, or just anypony in general," I said to her, smiling as bright as I could. She nodded and walked away. I sighed, and turned around to see a black and brown dog, sitting there. The dog looked like a German Shepherd, but mixed with some other mind of breed. The medium-sized dog just looked at me, with big, pathetic eyes. "Aww, now aren't you just the cutest thing," I said to it, bending down. I tried to see if it had a tag, but it didn't. "Huh? You don't have a tag on your collar. Are you lost?" I got back up, and looked around. I swear, the minute I looked away from that dog, something happened. I turned back around, and the dog was gone. I paused for a second. What had happened? Where did the dog go? Will I ever see it again? I shrugged, letting all of my wonders stay at the bottom of my brain. I walked towards my house. Just then, Applejack popped up in front go me. "Howdy!" She said. I blushed, like I always do when Applejack's around. I've had a crush in this pony for a while now, and we've became good friends. But I don't exactly know if she knows about how I like her... "Hai, A.J!" I said back, trying to hide my red cheeks. "What's goin' on with ya' Sugarcube?" She asked me. "Oh, not much. Just met Melody downtown to give her the cookies she requested, that's all," I answered, smiling. I didn't really want to tell her about the dog thing, but I did at he same time. It's like, that dog and I both met our eyes like we understood each other. It was really weird. "That's nice! Hey, ya'll wanna get somethin' to eat?" The orange earth pony asked me. I was starving. I hadn't ate anything since lunch, and it was already 5:30.
