"Scootaloo?" Are you sure this is safe?" Applebloom shifted nervously on the fillies' perch. She and Scootaloo were standing on a  wooden platform on the top of the Apple Family barn roof. A large hang-glider was strapped to Scootaloo's back, a skiing rope hung down from the glider and was tied to a harness on Applebloom; she held a long, metal pole in her hooves.

"Of course it's safe!" Scootaloo said reassuringly to her friend, "If I thought it wasn't safe, we wouldn't be doing this right now." The pegasus filly crouched, prepared to jump. "Are you ready, Applebloom?

"I," Applebloom took in a deep breath, "I'm ready."

"Ok, on the count of three. One" Scootaloo tensed her muscles, Applebloom gripped the pole tighter.

"Two," the eastern wind blew swiftly, making Scootaloo's mane sway.

"Three!" Scootaloo thrust her hind legs into the platform, launching herself from the barn's roof. The ski rope then tensed and jerked Applebloom off the roof as well. The yellow filly gasped and closed her eyes. Only to open them seconds later. She looked below her, the ground was several feet below her. Looking up, she could see Scootaloo cheering as they approached the West Orchard's tree line. Applebloom straightened the metal pole and cheered along with her friend,

"CUTIE MARK CRUSADER ULTIMATE APPLE BUCKERS!!!"

The two fillies now soared through the trees. The hang-glider held Scootaloo barely above the tree line,  Applebloom held tight to the pole as the trees shook. Apples fell from the trees by the dozens, landing in the baskets that had been set down beside the trees' trunks by Sweetie Belle only minutes earlier.

Scootaloo looked on at the rest of the sky, she closed her eyes and felt the wind whistle through her ears. Her mane was swept back from her face, fully revealing her heartwarming smile. This was how it felt to fly, feeling the wind in her hair and he power of the sky.

"APPLEBLOOM! SCOOTALOO! What th' hay are you doin'?! Scootaloo's moment was interrupted by Applejack's worried voice. Looking over her shoulder Scootaloo saw Applejack's silhouette in the orchard's distance. She was running towards the soaring fillies as they flew through the trees. Apples fell down around the farmpony as she waved a hoof in the air.

"Get out of th' air! Land!" the orange mare shouted.

"Were gonna get our cutie-marks fer sure this time!" Applebloom exclaimed excitedly. She hadn't heard her older sister through the wind rushing through her ears. Scootaloo decided to ignore her friend's sister and turned her head to look back at the horizon. Sweetie Belle was there waiting for them waving her arms so Scootaloo and Applebloom could see her. The unicorn filly had set up the baskets ahead of time while Scootaloo and Applebloom climbed to the top of the barn roof.
