   "Twilight!"

"What is it, Spike!"

"You just got a letter from Princess Celestia. I spit it out in my cereal," the little purple dragon replied.

Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia's favorite student, appeared in the kitchen with a flash of pink light. She grabbed the letter from Spike's claws and began to read:

My faithful student, Twilight Sparkle,

If you have been reading the newspaper lately, you have noticed that gem eating contests have gotten very popular among Equestria's dragon communities. This is not a problem, however, it has caused a rise in the dragon obesity rate. As my most focused and well-read student, I am giving you the responsibility of conducting a spell that will allow dragons to continue their gem eating contests with no effect on their health. I would not give you this task if I did not think you could do it.

Sincerely,

      Princess Celestia.

"What was the letter about, Twilight?" Spike questioned over a mouthful of cereal.

"Oh, it was nothing. Just some friendship stuff," Twilight lied. She already had a plan forming in her head.

One week later...

"Week one," Twilight wrote in her journal, "my test subject, Spike, has been oblivious to his new diet. I have  been feeding him the most fattening and sugary foods I can get, but I don't see any visible changes."

Spike had just gone to bed, and Twilight was in her lab writing in her "Operation WG Spike" notebook. As soon as she had read the Princess's letter, she had gotten to work getting as many unhealthy treats as she could reach. Then, she had started feeding them to Spike. Her plan was to fatten up Spike as much as she could, then, try the weight-loss spell. But so-far, their were little to no results. A whole week had passes since Twilight received the letter, and ever since, Twilight had been feeding Spike nonstop. She constantly offered him treats, and when he was asleep, she used her magic to make him chew. But the only thing that resulted in her hard work was a tiny bit more chubbiness in Spike's cheeks. "Well, I'll keep trying and it will eventually show," Twilight thought to herself before climbing into bed.

Two Weeks later...

"Twilight, what's for breakfast?!?"

Spike waddled into the kitchen, his belly jiggling with every step. A week ago, Twilight had realized that a dragon's most fattening food is gems. That had really turned the gaining on. Now, Spike had a double chin forming, and he had an enormous belly that shook with every step. Twilight had also used a digestion spell that caused digestion to happen immediately when the food hit the stomach, and it turned it straight to fat. Now you could literally watch as Spike's belly grew with every bite of food.

"Man, am I hungry!" Spike said as he sat down to a big table of fattening food. There were stacks apon stacks of pancakes, drowned in syrup, all of the muffins at sugar-cube corner, each with a unique flavor, and most importantly, gems that reached the size of boulders scattered at random around the kitchen. Spike also knew the cabinets were stocked full of treats and even more gems.

He had been somewhat curious about Twilight's new diet for him, but he was too happy to worry about it. He glanced over at Twilight, and for the first time noticed that she had also put on a little weight. It was no doubt from snacking on the things she was serving Spike. Her cutie mark was a little larger than previously, and her originally slim stomach at a slight bulge to it. Spike dismissed that immediately and dive into his feast. Within a few minutes, all that was left of the feast was some crumbs and a few smeared splotches of syrup. Spike was asleep, his head lying on the table and a gem still clutched in his chubby fingers.
