The Fallen Kingdom
Chapter One: Imprisoned (Twilight's POV)
Load Full StoryI paced around the adamantine cage, my friends all around me. Ever since me and my fellow Elements failed to stop Lord Tirek, we'd been stuck in a cage, waiting for anypony to save us. But nopony would save us. Nopony. That's what I thought. Me, Her Highness Princess Twilight Sparkle, gave up on anypony to save us. But I was so wrong. But would he be the one to save Equestria, or destroy it? He appeared to be the only pony who's power wasn't stolen by Lord Tirek. He was a broken renegade in Equestria, but he would be our only hope. He was skinny and weak at a pony's first look, but he was strong in mind and body, and very angry and dangerous. We needed the former human.
We needed Gyro Scope, wanted murderer and provoked monster
I was so lost in my thoughts, I didn't hear Rainbow Dash start talking to me, her faded magenta eyes filled with concern.
"Twi, you alright? You got that look that says 'I have an idea, but it could destroy Equestria.'"
"I do have an idea, but I don't know if it'll work. It's extremely dangerous and could result in us taking back Equestria, or it could result in the destruction of Equestria itself."
"Don't tell me you're thinking of Gyro Scope, the murderer, darling. He's dangerous, unpredictable and extremely uncouth." Rarity said, her mane frazzled and not styled, like it usually was. Her faded sapphire eyes didn't sparkle with ideas, like they usually did. I remembered the stallion clear as day. The creature who changed shape, but never changed his thoughts. I remembered Gyro Scope, the bat pony the color of charcoal, with a mane the color of ash and grass and a gyroscope cutie mark. But then, I remembered what happened when the Elements of Harmony tried to fight him. He became a different form. He called it a 'Kirin', which meant that he was half pony, half dragon. He was the color of blood, with a charcoal mane and black, scaly wings, and stark white fangs the color of a sun-bleached bone, and his cutie mark became two crossed bloody spears, and he called himself Bloodlust, the God of War, and he nearly killed all of the Elements of Harmony, aside from one. AppleJack. He didn't kill her. He didn't want to. Bloodlust couldn't kill her, even though he wanted to kill the rest of us. All of his forms had the same eyes, the color of mossy stones. But Bloodlust's were the color of obsidian, and they were razor sharp. The last time I saw him was when me and the others visited Princess Luna, and one of her guards took one look at us, and we could all see who he was. He had never been the same after his friend, Clockwork died. I think she was the only pony he ever truly loved. If Tirek could manage to get to him by convincing Bloodlust that he could bring back Clockwork, it would be the end Equestria as we knew it. Discord continued to mope around the cage, despite Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie's efforts to cheer him up
"Ugh, who is this Gyro Scope? I've never even heard of him! He doesn't seem like the pony we want on our side." Groaned the mismatched creature of chaos.
"For your information, the name is Bloodlust, not that piece of shit name I created." Came a sharp voice. We all gasped as the pony stepped out into the cage, as if it weren't there. The differences between the Kirin and the bat pony was that the bat pony could grow and retract fangs, as well as contract his pupils. The Kirin had permanent fangs and slit pupils, and had drake-like wings. "Like I can trust you, Discord." He snarled, jabbing a pointed wing tip at Discord.
"Aww, come on." Pinkie Pie complained, "He's the only source of fun, and even that's not enough." She pouted. The stallion's hackles rose, and he yanked out a knife, a blade on a short handle, and pointed it at Discord.
"You ruined my life. You killed my friend, and sent me through the depths of hell. Don't think I'm going to help you." He growled.
"Oh, it's you, Bloodlust! How's the family and wife?"
Bloodlust bared his teeth in a feral smile, showing of his ivory fangs.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. HA."
"Clockwork is fine, FYI. She isn't dead, just in hiding. It's not easy to keep ones girlfriend safe in a miniature battlefield." He said, smiling sadly.
"But you said she died!"
"I lied."
"Surprise, surprise."
"Never trust a Kirin."
"I don't suppose I can argue with that."
"Are you gonna get us out of here or not?" Rainbow demanded
"Maybe. That depends."
"On what?"
"On whether or not I want to kill all six of you, including Applejack
