When a gift turns into a curse; when ages seem to perpetually pass, leaving behind only sorrow and dread, the solace of the great beyond seems ever more desirable. When an opportunity to finally achieve that solace is presented, a decision is made, the authority is passed down, and a new era dawns. But when the leading figures of this new era disappear, the flustered citizens of Equestria will turn to any one offering order. A foreign power arrives, promising to restore order and surpass all previous expectations, and all seems in order. However, what goes on beyond the boundaries of Ponyville may cause some to think otherwise.
