I Have Something Else To Do
Rarity's horn glowed as she flipped the open sign to closed at Carousel Boutique. She opened the door and closed it behind her.
It had only been a day since the dark magic from a book Spike gave her had hypnotized her. Now she felt fine, but she had ticked off most of the residents of Ponyville. She just then realized she hadn't apologized to anypony yet.
She would have to say sorry to all her friends for fancying up their things, when it only made it worse. She changed her direction and walked towards the centre of town, where Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie usually hung out.
She found herself correct when she found her two most careless friends goofing around at town hall.
"Hello girls!" She called. They both turned their head and waved.
"Hey Rares!" Rainbow said.
"What's up?" Pinkie asked as she popped out from behind Rainbow randomly.
"Oh, nothing much." Rarity responded. "I do have to say that what happened yesterday at the fair," she started, before being cut off by Pinkie.
"Oh, you mean when my party was turned all fancy-wancy?" Pinkie asked.
"And that dress that randomly appeared on my while I was cloud busting?" Rainbow asked. Pinkie snickered.
"You were wearing a dress for the fair?" Pinkie giggled.
"I said it randomly appeared." She mumbled.
"Anyway," Rarity interrupted. "I just wanted to say," she sighed. "It was me." Pinkie stopped giggling and faced her with dilated eyes.
"You did all of that?" Rainbow asked.
"Since when could you randomly make things appear?" Pinkie asked.
"It wasn't exactly me, that was controlling all that was going on." Rarity informed. "Basically, Spike found me a book, I was magically hypnotized by it." She said.
Their necks squeaked as they nodded wordlessly.
"I just wanted to say, I am so very sorry." She said. Rainbow shrugged.
"No harm done," Her expression darkened. "Just don't ever do that again!" She shivered.
"I promise." Rarity said. "Pinkie promise." She recited the movements of Pinkie's promise.
Rainbow lifted into the air and hugged the unicorn. Once she let go, her eyes trailed over to Pinkie, who remained still. Rarity decided to hug her first. When her arms wrapped around the pink pony, she tensed up and said nothing. She didn't even respond to the hug.
She finally moved, but only to gently push her back as she forcefully smiled.
"Ehehehe.." She paused. "I... Have to go." She said, and before anypony could respond, she took off.
Rarity shot a quizzical look Rainbow, and saw she was sporting the same expression.
"Has Pinkie... Ever done that before?" Rarity asked.
"Nope." Rainbow responded without any silence in the conversation. Rarity shook her head.
"Well, I have to get going." Rarity said. "I have to go and apologize to all our friends for the things I've done." She said as she turned her back and walked off.

Pinkie's gallop slowed into a walk as she gasped for air. Once she caught her breath, she scolded herself in her head.
Good job, Pinkie. She thought. I can't believe you let that moment get away from you! She started to walk faster until she broke into a trot.

Rarity spotted Applejack standing at her apple stall, talking to a costumer. She started to trot over to the stand. She waited for the conversation to end, and walked up to her friend.
"Howdy, Rares!" Applejack greeted. "What brings you here?"
"Hello, Dear." Rarity said. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry, for turning your apple cart into a miniature chariot."
"No proble-" she stopped. "Wait, that was you?"
"Yes, it was." She said. "And I am very sorry."
"Awe shucks," she said as she flipped her hoof. "It was no biggy."
"It wasn't?" Rarity asked.
"Naw, it was turned back." She said.
"Oh, I am so glad you're not mad!" Rarity beamed.
"Of course not! Friends don't get mad at eachother!" Applejack said.
"Of course not." Rarity said. "I will be going along now!" Her horned glowed as she levitated an apple out of a bucket and stacked six bits on Applejack's nose.
"You forgot your change!" Applejack called as the bits clanged against the counter.
"Won't need it!" She called back in a cheerful voice. She was looking back at Applejack when she collided with somepony.
She turned her neck and came nose to nose with Pinkie. The earth pony automatically launched herself backwards onto her back.
"Pinkie, are you alright?" She asked. She walked over to her side and stuck a hoof out to help pull her up.
Pinkie's heart was now beating a million miles a second. The way Rarity was looking down on her, and how the light breeze blew her mane, it was just overload.
She brought her shaky hoof up to grip onto Rarity's. Warmth spread through her body as the unicorn pulled her up.
"Pinkie, is something on your mind?" She asked.
"N-no no!" Pinkie smiled innocently. "No problems whatsoever!" She grinned nervously.
"Pinkie, you know you can tell me anything." Rarity said as she rested her hoof on Pinkie's shoulder. The pink pony's smile faltered as she moved away from Rarity, making her hoof fall to the ground.
"No." She muttered. "I can't tell you this." She trotted away, disappearing into Sugarcube Corner.
Rarity rubbed her chin.
"Maybe she just needs time alone." She mumbled. "I'll come back later."

Sugarcube Corner's doorbell jingled as Rarity walked inside.
"Hello, Mrs. Cake." She said politely. "Does Pinkie happen to be here?"
"Oh yes." Cup Cake responded. "She's up in her room, but she seemed a little shaken when to get here." Rarity nodded.
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind." Rarity said.
She slowly walked up the stairs.
On the other side of one of the doors in the hallway, Pinkie heard hoof steps. She prayed that somepony was there to see the Baby Cakes, but she heard a soft knock on the door, followed by a voice.
"Pinkie, are you in there?" She asked. Pinkie recognized that silly voice. Rarity
"I, uuh," Pinkie mumbled.
The door creaked as it opened, and the unicorn walked in.
"Pinkie darling, are you alright?" She asked. "You've been up here for the whole day!"
Pinkie was about to make up an excuse, but stopped herself and took a deep breath.
"No, I'm not alright." She said calmly.
"Oh, whatever is the matter?" She asked with a worried expression.
"I-I-I can't tell you." She said timidly.
"Pinkie?" She smiled. "Stammering?" She let out a girly giggle. "Now I know for sure that something's wrong!" Pinkie's ears flattened.
"Yeah..." Rarity covered her mouth.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, was it something I said?" She asked.
"N-no. It's fine." Pinkie said.
"Oh, dear, you can tell me anything." Rarity said in a comforting tone.
"No. N-not," she paused. "Not this." She looked away. "I just don't want anything to awkward between us, and there are other problems I don't wanna have."
"Whatever do you mean?" Rarity asked. Pinkie didn't answer.
Rarity noticed the other mare's baby blue eyes dart all over the room, but they never met with her own. She twitched nervously and her cheeks increasingly turned darker. Rarity frowned as she got up from her seat and climbed onto Pinkie's bed with her. Pinkie opened and closed her mouth a few times, unable to find the words to say.
"Pinkie...." Rarity muttered before leaning in. Pinkie's body tensed up as Rarity's lips made contact to her red cheek. Her pupils dilated to the size of pinpoints.
"Mmmhmhmhm" Pinkie mumbled. "-R-R-R-" She took a deep breath. "Rarity, do you-?" She was cut of by herself as Rarity kissed her cheek again. The party mare's mind went completely blank. "C-can I try something on you?" She asked timidly.
"Of course, darling." Rarity responded as her cheeks increasingly darkened as well.
Pinkie shuffled forward, took another deep breath, and pressed her lips against Rarity's.
All time and space stopped for Rarity as the pink pony's warmth spread through her body. She tried to find the motions to kiss back, but failed. Pinkie broke the contact between the two.
"Uh... Buh.." Rarity stammered.
"I-I'm sorry, I just-" She stopped as Rarity raised a hoof.
"D-darling, I'm not mad at you." She said calmly. Pinkie looked up.
"Y-y-y-you're not?" She asked.
"Of course not! You're my friend." She smiled.
"Friend?" Pinkie asked. Rarity lost all lady-like senses as she jumped on top of Pinkie and toppled her over. She leaned her head down. Their lips met in another kiss.
After what seemed like forever, they parted.
"I do believe, we are more than just friends, now." She frowned as she sat up.
"What's wrong?" Pinkie asked.
"Nothing dear, just, why didn't you just tell me?" She asked.
"I-I was afraid to." Pinkie admitted.
"Why?" Rarity asked.
"I didn't want it to be awkward between us, and, well, I didn't want to hurt Spike's feelings, cause, he really likes you and all," she paused. "My destiny is to make ponies smile at any costs, and all I could see him with would be the opposite of a smile." She looked down. She felt white hooves wrap around her.
"Oh Pinkie, we all know Spike won't be happy about us being together when he finds out, but he's not the type to hold grudges. Like Twilight has said before, he's a genuine little guy." Rarity comforted. Pinkie smiled.
"You're right." She sighed.
"For now, however, we should just live in the now." She kissed Pinkie's other cheek, adding to the collection of lip marks on Pinkie's face. The pink pony snuggled into Rarity's stomach.
"I love you Rare-Bear." Pinkie sighed.
"I love you too, darling."
