Us Little Ponies: Welcome to Canterlot
Waiting For Mail
Load Full StoryI was standing near my mailbox on a warm summer afternoon, waiting for my letter. The roads were very busy. Ponies were walking around. I just wanted to see the mailman.
"Ugh! Can't the letter just come?", I whined. It was hot. I thought of going inside and getting ice-cream, but I wanted to see the letter the second it came. My little sister Golden Beret walked outside.
"Hey sis!", my sister said. "What are you doing"?"
"Oh nothing. Just waiting for the letter that I kinda hope won't come." Golden gave me a puzzling look. So I explained. "Well, you see, we live in a beautiful Manehattan mansion and I love Bridleway and I just can't stand to leave Manehattan! But at the same time, Canterlot does look nice and I need to learn new spells. I know all the spells in my book! I can even teleport! Then I realized something. Going to Canterlot might help me expand my music career! Music was something that I loved. Of course I never wrote songs. I didn't know where to start. I just listened to Bridleway songs and memorized the words. The Royal Guards would love me. The Princesses would constantly praise me. It would be so great....
"SingSong, you are so good! That voice is of an angel!", Princess Luna said. I blushed and said thank you. "My voice is the gift that you and your sister have brought me.", I told her. I heard a creak noise and looked up. I saw Princess Celestia.
"Hello SingSong. Here is your letter. I'm pretty sure that you are coming to Celestia's School for Gifted Ponies. I blinked. She was talking in third-person.
"Now wake up. Wake up. Wake up." Celestia repeated this for she knows how many times before I woke up.
"Sing! Your letter is here! I opened it for you and you've been accepted! I looked at my flank. I was hoping for a mail cutie mark, but then I remembered my theory. Names correspond with cutie marks. I looked at my opened letter and went inside to go tell my parents the exciting news.
"Start packing kids, we are moving.", my dad said. I groaned. This would be the hardest part. Well, the second hardest. I'd have to tell SarahStar that I was leaving. I felt tears forming. "Dad?", I called, "can I tell Sarah that I'm leaving?". I think he said no, but I didn't care. I just knew that five seconds later, I was on a playground, near Mane Fair Hotel. I walked and walked and walked, and before I knew it, I was at the entrance to the place. I pushed the revolving door and was greeted by the bellpony.
"Hello SingSong.", the bellpony said. His name was Silverbell. It was like he was born for this job. He seemed to be the only generous pony in this town. "Hey Silver!", I greeted him back. It was hard not to be friendly to him.
"I assume that you are here to see Sarah.", he said. I nodded. "Well, you know, Sarah was just about to come and see you. Something about a school for gifted ponies." My ears perked up. Did that mean that Sarah was going with me? I had to find out. I asked Silver where she was. "She's still here. Her mom said that she couldn't go." This was great. "Thanks, Silverbell!", I said. I think this was one of the first times that I had called Silverbell by his full name. I went inside the elevator and pressed the number four. I waited about 4 seconds and was taken to the main room of the penthouse.
"SingSong!", I heard someone shout. I turned around and saw my best friend, SarahSong. "Guess what Sing? I finally get to stay in Canterlot and see my dad again!" Sarah's dad was a royal guard. I wanted to trick my friend so I made a sad face. "Oh no!", said Sarah. "You are...not coming?". I quickly smiled and she knew that it was a joke. She squealed with joy. I looked at the time.
"Oh my! I gotta go Sarah! Catch ya' on the train?", I asked. "Catch ya' on the train.", she replied.
