War is coming. The Darklings are rising from their ancient slumber, and they crave the destruction they once caused. They had been trapped inside of the void for so long that most universes don't know their names, and those who do remember them think of them only as legend. For Andrew they're more than legend. They're the prisoners he has the sorry job of watching.

Being an ancient means being older than most universes, older than some deities, and staying out of the way of free will. However, taking the eyes off of the monitor used to check every known universe has allowed the Darklings to escape. They've now spread across the Multiverse, seeking to undo everything that has been done.
