This is the story a pony. A pony named Trick. A hero he was, a friend he was, and forever in my heart. It all started, when he walked into the Throne room. The Throne room of me and my sister Celestia.

My return to Equestria had been... Rough. It helped being the star at nightmare night in Ponyville, but everyday I see ponies are still afraid of me. They fear me, like a monster. My sister tried to comfort me through it all but it just wasn't working out. My night guards were still loyal to me when I was released from my nightmare form. Though they're more mute than any my sisters day guards and showed less emotion than a wall, a wall can look sad if it is not clean. Almost every night I cried as I looked at my moon, reminding me of what happened that thousand years ago. But it all changed when he walked in. Celestia and me were in the throne room, we had finished all of our royal duties that day and we were as the modern ponies would say "hanging out". It had been a very tiresome day indeed.

"I am relieved we are done dear sister.". I said with a smile.

"Me too Luna, I can now spend time with you.". She replied smiling right back. That's what I like about my sister, she is calm minded, her voice is soothing to everyponys ears, and she always knows what to say.

"What shall we do first dear si-". Suddenly the door burst open and an Earth pony stallion walked in. His fur was white, his tail being the same color. His mane was short and was almost completely hidden by a white top hat upon his head. He was wearing a grin on his face as if he was a big shot. I glance over at Celestia who is as surprised as I was.

"Who are you? How did you get in here?". The stallion looked at me with light blue green eyes and his grin grew. He did a bow towards me with his hat. He then looked up from the bow and stared at me with his grin.

"Somepony left the door open.". He never took his eyes off of me as he rose. I looked back at Celestia who looked angry.

"What did you do to my guards?". The stallion started to chuckle.

"Do not worry about them Tia, I did nothing that could harm them, although I believe a pony named... Shining armor, was the hardest to get by. And by hard, I mean easy. I know he's the new captain of the day guard but he isn't as skilled as you thought.". Never did he stop grinning.

"I want you out of the castle, GUARDS!". The day guards started to come from all directions. The stallion never lost his grin. He was surrounded and immensely outnumbered, how did this pony keep calm like this? The unicorns were charging their horns, the pegusi were spreading their wings, and the earth ponies were ready for battle. How was this pony not afraid?

"Hohoho! Celestia. I'm flattered that you'd give me such a send off. But I'm sure I can leave on my own.". He turned around and started for the door. He stopped and stared at the door for a few seconds.

"I bid you farewell, Luna. I'll be back tonight to visit deary!". The pony then skipped through the door. The guards filed out the door after the mystery stallion. We did not speak of the stallion till dinner. The royal chefs cooked our favorite dish, spaghetti and wheat balls.

"Sister, who do you think that stallion was?". I said taking a bite of my dinner. Celestia looked up at me frowning.

"I don't want to dwell on that stallion, I need you to have more night guard tonight. Whoever that pony was he said he would be back but I know we can prevent that.". Not another word was said at dinner for I was afraid to bring it up. What did this pony want from me? Did he want to harm me? I didn't know at the time, and it was a scary thought. After dinner I went straight to my bedchambers and raised my moon as Celestia lowered her sun. I looked at my moon and started to remember the horrid things I did as nightmare. I felt the tears start to form. I was about to cry when I heard to most pleasant of sounds. The sounds of a poem.

"Luna? Why do you cry again tonight? Do you not see the beauty your moon holds? You may be all powerful, and your speech is quite a mouthful. But do not cry at the sight, the sight of your beautiful night. Instead cry tears of joy, for a wonderful night you have made tonight. A sight that is as beautiful as Luna, the princess of the night.". I looked down off the balcony of my bedchamber and saw the stallion. He wore his hat again and it shone in the moonlight as he stood their as a gentle breeze blew through the night. He looked up me with his grin and shining eyes.

"Hello Luna, I'm pleased to she you once again. Did you miss me?". He pulled flowers from his hat, the flowers were white like his fur but seemed to shine in the moonlight.

"Are those... For me.". The stallion chuckled at this.

"Indeed they are, what use would my visit be if I didn't bring a gift? And do not worry about your bat ponies. They are safe and unharmed, they're just a little tired.". At the mention of this I turned around and saw the night guards were sleeping soundly on the floor.

"See? Unharmed.". I whirled around to see the Stallion standing on my balcony.

"H-how did thou get up here so fast?". The stallion chuckled at me again.

"It's simple really and not very impressive once you know how it's done.". He pulled a vase of the white flowers from his hat and set them down.

"Moonlight flowers for the raiser of the moon. I bid you farewell. Until next time.". He was about to leave when I stopped him.

"Wait! Who are you?". The stallion hopped onto the edge of the balcony.

"My name is Trick.". Trick tipped his hat and jumped off the edge. I scrambled over to see him but he was gone.

I didn't know it then, but this was the start of great adventure.
