//-------------------------------------------------------// Equestrian Endeavors -by Emerald_Charmer- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Introduction //-------------------------------------------------------// Introduction Hello, My name is Windy Tumbles. I am a blue pegasus with a lighter blue mane. I very much have had a largely interesting time for quite a while, and now that I have settled down, I thought perhaps I would share my stories with all of you, so without further ado, let us begin Now it all started fifteen years ago. I was just starting off in Ponyville, had even rounded up a few bits in my little clothing stand. Strange thing, Pegasi usually have more interesting jobs then just sitting around stitching together winter clothes. Winter had just began, so my business was doing well, even got a few tips on fashion from some white pony, which turned out to be more of a “you sit back and I’ll try to fix this fashion disaster you’ve made” kind of lesson. I had just began to open up shop when I heard the doorbells ringing, notifying me that my first customers had come. “Spike, I told you I can’t afford any more gems, if you are as hungry as you say you are, then you’ll just have to look for them yourself, besides, you need the fresh air”, said one customer. I finished hanging the last of the winter coats and turned around to see what they were looking for. I was met face to face with a baby dragon. I had never seen a dragon before, much less a baby one. The dragon had green scales and was purple otherwise. He must have noticed that I was mesmerised by seeing an actual dragon. “Hi, I’m Spike”, he said, looking down with his narrow slitted eyes to the emeralds I was putting in my storage chest, “hey do you need all of those, i’m so hungry I could eat an entire mountain!” “Spike! Im sure the man has a use for his emeralds, and besides, that’s not what we’re here for”, grumbled the other customer, whom I now turned to face. She was a smaller pony, purple in appearance, with a pink stripe that seemed to continue through her mane and down her tail, and an intriguing star like cutie mark. “Hello sir, madam, looking for anything in particular?” I asked. “Why yes, hello, I’m Twilight Sparkle, and this is Spike.”, Twilight informed me. “ we were just wondering if you had any hiking boots, we’re going to see what’s causing all that disturbance up the mountain.” “Why yes I do, but I must also inform you that the Pegasi have scheduled a blizzard to last from this afternoon to tomorrow evening, even i’m closing up shop early today”, I told her “Well that simply wont do, you see, I need to get up there today, this could be very serious, and I simply cannot let a silly little blizzard get in my way”, she responded. “Well miss Sparkle, you must know that this is not a “silly little” blizzard, in fact, it’s supposed to be one of the strongest we’ve had since before the beginning of Hearths Warming Eve!” I retorted. “Just let me get the boots and i’ll be out of your way sir”, she said. “Come on miss, be reasonable, I can’t risk letting somepony get hurt out in a blizzard like this.” “No, I must go tonight, and if you don’t give me the boots then I might get hurt on the way up, and that will be on your head!” she exclaimed. “Fine, I’ll let you have the boots, free of charge, just one catch”, I said. “And what’s that?” she asked. “I'm coming with you, I can’t risk letting a nice filly like you getting hurt just because I wasn’t firm enough with telling her no.” “No no no”, she said “ I can’t let you do that, you could get hurt!” “he’s got a point, Twilight”, Spike said, “if something happens to us, he will probably feel responsible for it.” “Well that settles it then”, I said, “we leave in an hour, and I won’t take no for an answer miss Sparkle.” “Fine”, she agreed, “but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” “I won’t, promise.” And there I went, getting ready to hike to the top of a mountain in the middle of a blizzard, thinking that what I was doing was the right thing. I began to pack for what I could already tell, judging solely by the looks of the weather, would be a long grueling trip.
