One day I am a pegasus. Making up my mind was easy. I could either choose the captive life of boring and evil or, the normal fun life of an everyday Equestrian pegasus. What would you choose? My name is Saderine but, no pony knows that. All my friends call me Shimmer Shine or, Shimmerz when it comes to Melody. When I was a filly, my mother would always talk about how I would live on to be the next queen that would take over Equestria. She also said that I would be the first to be successful in doing so. Let's just say mom was always trying to make sure I had just the right amount of evil in me. What she didn't know is I had none! One day, I was called to the royal throne room in the changeling kingdom. his was just a couple of days after my mother had gotten thrown back into Chrysatopia by Princess Cadence and Shining Armor so, another talk about evil was among us. She had always dreamed of being the proud mother of an evil sorceress so, every now and then, she would talk about Equestria and its vermin. My mother was very proud of me and where she thought i was in life. Proud of all of me except for one thing; my disease. Well, the changelings call it a disease while I call it a blessing. I have a rare changeling disorder called "Ponymonsomia". It means that I can only feed on food instead of love so, I am not evil.. My fellow changelings blamed my mother for this disability, doubting her role as queen. Those certain changelings? Lets just say I know a few places to hide bodies....... One day, my mother decided to have a talk with me. "Saderine, I am so proud!!" She said excitedly. I blushed as I sat on my haunches in the throne room of the castle. "Thank you mother but, what are you proud of?" I asked her, finally getting to the point that I haven't done anything worthy of praise. She looked at my with a frown. Her long green hair draped over her left eye like a mask. "What ever do you mean?" She asked me. I stood up and blew my short pink hair out of my face. I walked up the steps of the throne and sat at the second to top step. "Well. I haven't done anything. All I do is practice magic and make sure that the maids don't get into trouble." I told her. Even though I don't watch what the maids are doing, whenever they are noticeable, they get in trouble. My mother sighed. Tell her, Saderine I though to myself.You know what you want. Tell her "Mother" I said, inhaling deeply. " I want to leave". I shut my eyes and waited for the yelling to commence but, all I heard was science. I opened one eye and saw my mother looking down at the ground. I climbed the steps to the throne and sat two from the top. " I want to see the world and go make something of myself!!!" " Saderine." She said softly. She looked at me and smiled, water starting to blur her dark, changeling eyes. " When I look at you, all I see is your father." I gasped. My mother never talked about my father. It was difficult for her considering he was still alive but, though she was dead and gone.. " Go" She said, breaking me from my day dreaming. "Thank you" I said, jumping up and wrapping her in a hug. " I love you, mom. " I said when i looked back at her. Even through the tears, she was smiling at me. I smiled back and stepped down the throne. " There is one condition though." She said as I got to the door. I looked back and stared at her. "Visit once a month and NEVER forget where you are from. Good luck.." Of course, me being a changeling, I had to disguise myself. My mother had taught me a shape-shifting spell if I had needed it in life. With a spark of my horn, my appearance changed and I was now the pony I had created many years ago. Her name is Shimmer Shine. She has a pink coat, long red hair that is parted to one side and, a star for a cutie mark resembling her and my love for singing. Her eyes were icy blue. I sucked in my fangs and smiled, teeth wide. " Perfect " I said to myself. I had kept my voice the same just because I hadn't perfected the voice simulator spell yet. After an hour of packing and organizing, I exited my room through the balcony. As I opened my wings I shuttered. I had been so used to my wings with holes, making the wind sweep right through them. Now, I have no holes therefore, my wings are freezing cold. I flapped my new wings and took to the skies. I concentrated on a certain spec in the sky and opened up a portal. As a changeling, whatever type of pony I morph into can control magic that a changeling can. This makes our lives much easier. As I flew through the portal and closed it. I was in the town of my destination. This is where I would make friends, a living and spend my life. This was going to be home. My home in Ponyville //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of compassion //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of compassion Three months later I went to the changeling castle in search of an unanswered question. " Mother, I know it is dangerously stupid but..." " No, Saderine! It's suicidal and I would know. I've done it!" My mother said, interrupting me. " I don't want you getting hurt. Or to upset the Princesses at this moment. Thats my job as queen to decide what interactions we have with ponies and I have already stretched my limits letting you go off into Equestria on your own and getting very close with a certain colt! No." She yelled at me. I knew what I was doing. "Mom" Was all I could say before she launched out of her throne and flew to the ground. " Saderine, no. Trust me on this, it will be better to just let them die out first. and--" " He is an Alicorn, Mother!!!" I yelled in her face. " Alicorn!" I turned around and sat on my haunches so she wouldn't see my tears. It was true.. I had fallen in love with an Alicorn... I had been living in Ponyville for a month and I had gotten my first gig at the Ponyville Day Fair. I sung a few songs and got my pay. I was just about to leave when I was tapped on the shoulder by a mystery pony. " Hey." A colt's voice said. I turned around to see a light brown colt with dark brown and pink hair. He had a horn and...wings?? I looked around. Nopony seemed to be looking at him like he was special. Maybe Alicorns were more popular in this age of Equestria. After all, I am almost as old as Princess Luna. and still in my teens too. "Hi?" I said, looking into his eyes. His eyes matched the pink in his hair. He chuckled. " Yeah I know. And no. I am not a ruler of anything.I am Symphonic Blitz and those guys over there." He said pointing to a group of ponies laughing and talking. " Are my friends. We have seen you around but, Melody takes it her responsibility to know every pony in town and when we saw you here. I bet I could get to you before she could so, here you are!" I blushed and smiled. "Im Shimmer Shine and whats up with the blue unicorn with the frosting all over her face?" I said, asking about the pony in the middle of the group who was laughing with frosting all over her face. Another mare in the group came out of the back with a napkin. A unicorn with... " She is an Alicorn too?!" I said, gapping at her outstretched wings. " Yeah. Thats Lily, my big sister." He said casually, like being an Alicorn was as normal as being an earth pony or a pegasus. " Here, I will introduce you."   He said, starting to walk over to the group. I followed him, keeping my distance. " Hey Meeeel???" He said as the Blue Unicorn looked over and furrowed her brows. " Darn it, Blitz! I should've know you would sneak off to find her when I wasn't looking." I walked up to the rest of the group and stood by Symphonic Blitz. Even though I didn't know  him well, I still knew him more than any of these ponies so, he was the best choice to stick with. " So... Whats your name?" She asked me. "My name's Shimmer Shine." I said confidently. Blitz stepped up. "This is Blue,Skatespark,Cinnamon,Triple Track, and you have met Melody Lily and myself!" The group was small but, welcoming. They all nodded towards the popcorn stand. As they walked I stood kind of wondering what to do. Blitz looked back at me and laughed. He trotted backwards and put his wing around me, making me blush. " Common, I'll get you some popcorn." " We-Wwe spent the rest of the night riding rides and laughing and talking." I told my mother. " We went out even without the rest of the group on many occasions." She wrapped me in a hug from where we were sitting. As I told her my story, I must have gone through about thirty tissues that were now strewn about the floor around us. I looked at the clock on the wall in my mothers throne room and jumped up. " It's three o'clock!!" I yelled " I have to meet Blitz at three thirty!!!" I opened a portal and changed my appearance. My mother put her head through the portal that led to my living room. " Nice place, Saderine. Come back soon. Im just a portal away." She said hugging me again. I walked through the portal and closed it up. I ran to the bathroom and made sure I had no Saderine left on my face. Cant have that happen again! Before I knew it I heard a knock at the door. "Hey Shimmerz!" I heard his voice yell. " Coming!!" I yelled with a smile. I fast-trotted to the door. When I opened it, my smile got wider. " Hey, Blitz" " Hey. So, you ready?" He asked. I looked at him confused. " For what?" " To meet my Aunt Celestia and Luna" He said My jaw dropped and I stuttered. " Aunt?" I asked. He stared at me as if I was supposed to know he was related to the princesses of Equestria. " Yeah. When my parents went to Sadlearabia on a mission for Celestia, they put her in charge of checking up on us very two months. Since she is visiting Princess Twilight in the new harmony castle, she decided to visit." My jaw was still low as I stared at him. I cleared my throat. " Why do you want me to meet your Aunts?" I asked him. He smiled down at me. " Well I would assume my Aunts, the rulers of Equestria, would at least want to know their nephews mare friend,Shimmerz" I blushed and looked down at my hooves. You don't know how hard you are making this for me, Blitz. " Mare friend?" I asked him. He chuckled and put his wing around me. As we walked into town, I was nervous, happy and on the verge of breaking down and losing my mind at the same time. I needed to get back to my mom. //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of secrecy //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of secrecy When we reached the town square we were greeted by Skatespark. " Blitz, you didn't!" She said passing by us on her blue skateboard. I blushed. Out of nowhere, I felt a sudden head rush and fell. My legs wobbled but, I played it off like it was a rock that tripped me. Something was wrong. Magicaly wrong. The Princesses met us at two gates. As we walked through I smiled at the princesses. "Hello nephew and I assume this is the mare you've been writing to me about?" The sun Princess asked Blitz. He blushed and went to hug his Aunt. I felt another rush in my head. I stumbled and sat on my haunches. Princess Luna came up beside me and helped me up. " Ms. Shimmer Shine? Art thou alright?" She asked me. Her eyes are as dark as the midnight sky in mine and I find out whats going on. There is a magical barrier around time square. Anything that is foreign and shows harm to the Princesses, will be exposed. The barrier is trying to cast a spell on my  to make me look like. ME again. " Oh yes." I said quickly " Just tripped on a rock. He he" She stared at me and closed her eyes. My head started to hurt as I heard a voice. A voice with no body. State thy purpose here, Changeling. Princess Luna's voice said. " Princess Luna please.. I mean no harm to any pony" I told the moon princess. State thy purpose! She yelled "I am here in Equestria seeking out what my mother calls evil. I am seeking out friendship and freedom. Something I cannot get  from in the walls of my mother's kingdom of hate an confinement. I assure you, no harm is to come to any pony except me if I do not leave soon!" With that, the spell was broken and Luna rushed me out of the gates. My headache relieved itself and I sighed. "I hope you realize We must share our findings with our sister, Shimmer Shine." She said sternly  "On the other hoof, thy secret is safe with us." I smiled and bowed to her. She came up close and smiled "You are the most polite changeling we have ever met. Good luck" She whispered. " Hey Shimmerz!" Lily yelled from inside the courtyard. "Come in, have tea with us!" She was sitting at a table with Blitz, Princess Celestia and herself. Princess Luna nodded to me and whispered something in her sister's ear. " Umm, I think I left my hamster  out!! I will be back!" I yelled, lying through my teeth. I took  to the skies and flew as fast as I could to the petstore, bought a small hamster and it's cage and bolted home. After setting the hamster in it's place, I looked up and saw the two Princesses sitting in my room. "Ahh!!" I yelled "We are sorry to disturb you, Shimmer Shine but, you being here is a matter of conversation," Princess Celestia said, her mane flowing in front of the window, making it shine. Luna smiled at me and looked at her sister. " We are aware of you and your resent moving here and---" Luna said before Celestia put a hoof up to silence her. " You must show your appearance and show you are no harm to the citizens of this country before your location is decided." I nodded and stepped back. I concentrated once again on Saderine and was transformed. My short pink mane shook in my face and i stretched my warm wings. Celestia studied me carefully and did some test. Jaw and horn mainly. "My mother always wanted me to be the queen to take over this country. That is why I left Chrysatopia and came here to Equestria. It is beautiful and free here. I only seek out what my current place couldn't provide." I told them as I poured them some tea. They nodded in agreement. "You realize what your mother did with your father will need to be repeated, yes?" Princess Celestia asked me. "My nephew will be hurt both ways.. So will the rest of your friends." I starred at my tea. " Yes, Princess. I am aware of the situation.. I have not decided how yet." " We are very aware of your struggle, Saderine." Luna said to me, levitating a tissue to my hoof. " Although, we can not take any risk of you being uncovered or exposed unto the public" She said, sternly. I nodded in agreement. I thought of how my mother had said the same thing and smiled. Celestia looked at me with confusion. "Is something funny?" She asked. I contained my giggles and cleared my throat. As I opened my mouth to speak, a knock was heard from the door. " Shimmer Shine!?" Lily's voice said. I panicked and looked at the Princesses. To my surprise they were not there anymore. "Shimmer Shine!!!???" What are you doing!?" She yelled once more. I hurried to the door and opened it with a fake smile. My smile dropped when I saw all of our friends were there with her. All of them had worried eyes. " Why did you leave like that?" Melody asked. " I was--" " Yeah, that was totally not cool. " Cinnamon said. " Guys if you would just--" " You bolted out of there faster than The Doctor did after the Time War!!" Skatespark said fan girlishly. Everypony stopped and looked at her for a moment before going back to me. " Well, why did you leave?" Blitz asked me. I felt bad because it was like our first date and I ditched him. " I...Um....." Think. Think!! Then it hit me harder than when Sherlock hit the ground in The Fall of Raighenbach. " I got a letter from my mother! She is coming to Ponyville to see how I am doing. She will be here tomorrow and I needed to get home. Sorry if I worried you." I said quickly. They all blinked and looked at each other. "Okie dokie then?" Melody said, confused. " Can we do anything to help?" She asked " NO!" I said loudly, making them all jump. " I mean no, thanks for the offer but, I want you to meet her not all to fast so, I will get her by myself." "Saderine!? You must be crazier than the element of laughter if you think I am coming to Equestria and meeting your friends on such a short notice!!" She yelled. " Please mom, it's really important and you were always complaining about how you haven't used your Chrysanote disguise before I left.." I told her, reminding her about her pony-self. She thought for a moment and sighed. " Fine, I suppose a few days there wouldn't hurt. But, who will watch the city?!" She asks, raising an eyebrow. " You can check up on them every night! Its not like a whole city can cause mass destruction in a couple hours!!" I sighed, annoyed at my mother's pointless paranoia. " It will be fine." She reluctantly agreed and went off to pack her bags. When she returned she wasn't her changeling self anymore. Her disguise was a pegasus mare with a purple coat. She had the same hairstyle as me but, it was way longer and more flat. Her cutie mark represented my mother's love for playing the trumpet, thus her name. Chrysanote would be what is my mother for the next four days and me? It was loud and short. I heard fast hoofsteps coming toward me and I braced myself. As the figure hit me and took us both to the ground, I heard laughing. I opened my eyes and gasped. " Fang!?" I asked my big brother. He stopped laughing and smiled at me. I looked at my mother who was trying to contain her laughter as hard as she could. "What are you doing here!?" I asked. His smile faded and he helped me up. " Mom called. Jeez, Saderine I though you would be happier to see me." The hurt look on his face made me frown. " I didn't mean it like that, Fang." I pulled him into a hug and sighed. " I thought you'd still be fighting on the sea is all..." My brother hadn't been here when I left to Equestria... He was fighting the Sea Pony-Changeling War that was going on just on the Equestrian border. I was happy to see him here, alive. Too many changelings had been brought down by those cheating , lying water suckers... I smiled and laughed. " He's coming with us, Saderine." My mother said, startling me. I had forgotten she was there for a moment. I looked at my brother who was smiling like a maniac. Fang? Coming with us? To Equestria? Oh, dear... Pacing hoofsteps was all that was heard when we settled into my home in Ponyville. Fang quickly changed his appearance even though he was still gaping at Equestria. Fang came into the guest bedroom where my mother and I were setting up the two beds and showed off. He was now a grey unicorn with black sketchy hair. His cutiemark was a game controller with a head set placed on it like it is placed on a pony's head. "Of course you would pick video games. Those things are going to rot your brain ya' know." My mother said at him as she spread the bed set with her magic. I saw what she was doing and quickly put a hoof on the bed. "You can't use changeling magic unless you're opening portals!!!" She raised an eyebrow at me and looked at my brother who was too busy looking at himself in the mirror. She chuckled and went to setting up the pillows with her hoofs. I let out a sigh of relief. My ears picked up more hoofsteps.. A whole group of them " They're here!!!!" I said to them, catching their attention. "Act natural and don't blow our cover...Fang!!" Chrysanote yelled at my brother who was still looking at his reflection. He laughed. " Mom, I'm a changeling spy. Blowing covers? Not my thing." He got up and came by me. " I like it here.." He whispered in my ear before walking out of the room. I looked at my mother and smiled. "Let's go." I made a bunch of mini dandelion sandwiches as they knocked on the door. Fang opened it and let all of my friends in. My mother stood in the kitchen with me. The space between the two rooms made the view from the kitchen easy to see all that was going on in the living room. My brother occupied them as we finished up. When we entered it was silent. "Jeez Shimmerz. You and your sister look like identical twins!!" Cinnamon said, scarfing down the sandwich. My mother smiled and I huffed. " Everypony, this is my MOTHER, Chrysanote and my brother, Fang!" Cinnamon blushed and Melody started laughing. We all stared at her. " Look!! Look how red he is!!!" Lily said, joining Melody in laughter. soon, we all started laughing at Cinnamon as he hid behind his wings. " So, Mom. This is Blitz and His sister Lily." I said as Blitz walked through the walkway from the kitchen. He stood by me and smiled. Lily came up and shook her hoof and my brother's. "Melody and Cinnamon." I said. They came up and shook her hoof. "And Blue! Unfortunately, Skatespark and Trip couldn't make it due to rush hour at work." Blue was busy talking to Fang about some sport game " So, Shimmerz?" Blitz asked me, snapping me out of my daydreaming. "How was train ride?" I smiled at him. "Good. I'm happy to see my family again." I though of Fang who had been on the sea for the past year.. I was really truly happy to see him. I had hoped this visit would go well. When my doorbell rang I sighed at having to leave the scene but, went anyways. When I opened the door, my eyes grew wide. At my doorstep were Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, both with tear stained faces. "Where....Where are my niece and nephew??" The distressed Sun Princess asked. Lily ran to the door and hugged them both. "What's wrong?? Did something happen??" She asked, her voice full of worry. "Come in, please." I said to them. When we entered the room, my mother quickly excused herself to the other room,dragging Fang with her. "Princess Luna, Princess Celestia? What's happened??" They shared a look of worry and Princess Luna spoke up. "Lilira and Chiron....." She said before chocking on her words. Melody levitated her a tissue. She gratefully took it and looked at her sister who was sitting on her haunches. " Mom and Dad?? What happened??" Blitz asked his Aunt. They didn't answer. " Celi?? Luna???" He asked again. Princess Celestia ,cleared her throat and closed her eyes. "Blitz...Lily... You're parents are dead.." The whole room went silent. Celestia covered her face in a tissue that was held in her gold aura. "What???" Lily said, her eyes shining with tears. She looked at Blitz who was looking at the ground,eyes closed. "How?? Why?? Aunt Luna!! Please tell me she's lying!!" Lily yelled at the night princess. Luna straightened her posture. "Niece, we would not lie about something this serious" She said softly. " Come here." She gestured Lily to come into her hoofs. Lily got up and ran into Luna's embrace, sobbing. "What happened?" Melody asked Princess Celestia., giving her another tissue. "When we sent them on the mission to Sadlerarabia, we sent them to examine a strange magic force that was disrupting the inhabitance of the country. When Tirek escaped Tartarus, he went there to retrieve the magic...." She took in a deep breath " Your parents were one of the firsts to die trying to protect it..." Blitz sniffed and tears stripped down his face. "Why?!?!?!" He yelled " Why did you have to send THEM!?! Why?!?!" HE stood up and charged out the door, slamming it behind him with his magic. Lily, who now had Blue's wing wrapped around her, looked at me and gestured to the door with her head. "Thank you, Shimmer Shine." Princess Luna said with a weak smile. "Blitz!!! Wait!!!" I said. I had been chasing him across town for a good five minutes and I had guessed he was trying to get to his parents house. When he stopped for air, I took my chance and tackled him from behind. He struggled, almost knocking me off but, I held my ground. "Stop! I'm trying to help you!!" I told him. He stopped and looked at me before closing his eyes. Tears started flowing down, sliding down his cheeks onto  the ground. I let helped him up and sat on my haunches, same with him.I Put a wing around him and he put his head on my shoulder. " It's ok...I'm here for you. We're all here for you, Blitz.." He sniffed. " It will be alright." I told him. Up the road, I saw the rest of our group walking slowly walking towards us. Lily had stayed with Blue and the Princesses were gone. My mother and brother were with them, my mother looking at me with confusion and worry. Blitz didn't bother looking up, he stayed with his eyes closed on my shoulder. When they arrived to us, Lily nodded at me and I got up and stood by my mother. Lily and Blitz walked off to go to their parents house together. I leaned in to my mother's side and whispered in her ear. " Lilira and Chiron are dead, mom." She gasped and took to the skies. I looked at my brother and sighed. " Let's go home." He said " I don't think mom is gonna be back for a few hours." I looked back at the group who were talking quietly. "It's okay everypony." Cinnamon said " We should all go home and get some sleep." He pointed to the sunset and started walking. Melody gave me a hug and followed Cinnamon to get to her house. Blue walked up to me and whispered. " I need your advice, Shimmer Shine. It's about Lily and.." " Shh." I said " The best thing to do right now is show her that you're there for her." I smiled at him and gave him a wink. He laughed and gave me a hug. " Thanks, Shimmerz." //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of doubt //-------------------------------------------------------// My side of doubt The next morning, Fang and I sit and drink coffee, waiting for Chrysanote to come back. She hadn't come back the night before. Fang and I had taken shifts sleeping because we were worried sick about her.Losing Lilira must have been hard on her.... "Leave her alone!!!" Shouts were heard from outside. Fang and I sprang up and ran to the door. About four press ponies were crowded around my mother, all wanting to come inside and talk to us. " She won't talk to you!!" When Fang opened the door a flash made the press ponies vanish and appear in front of my front yard. My mother and I turned to Fang who was panting hard. " Get...Inside..Now.." He said through heavy breaths. When my mom bolts inside, he slams the door and stands by me. We both look at my mother, angry. "What?" She asks. Fang laughs and I sit down by my mother, waiting for him to yell. It was going to happen so, I wanted to get away so I wouldn't be hit in the face (again). "What do you mean?!?! You didn't come back!!!" He kept ranting on about how if something happened she wouldn't have been there to find us blah blah blah. I stood up and changed into Saderine. My mother and Fang gasped. Fang covered me with a blanket and yelled at my mom. " What is she doing?!" I started laughing and changed back into Shimmer Shine. " Calm down and stop yelling, Fang." He huffed at me I turned to my mom and gave her a stern look to make her stop laughing. " We were worried about you. Where did you go??" I asked her, giving her a relieved hug. When I let go, there were tears rolling down her face. "The only pony in the whole world that looked at me like I was normal and not the monster everypony else thinks I am...." Fang sat her down and sat on the ground, looking up at her. " Gone..." She muttered. "Mom..." She sniffed a smiled at us. We looked at each other a smiled. "How is it that MY children grew up to be the most kind, thoughtful and loving ponies I know?" She asked us. We laughed and I sighed. "No matter how different or far apart we are, we will always be family." I told them. They nodded in agreement. " I need to tell them, Mom.." I said. Fang laughed. " Way to ruin THAT moment, Saderine. I'm going to kill some zombie ponies." He said. " Have fun with this one sided conversation, Mom." With that, he transported into the guest bedroom and started playing his insane video games. " Ha ha ha no.." She said after he left. I knew my mother was stubborn but, I needed to win this. No more secrets. No more hiding what I am from the ponies I am closest to. " I wasn't asking your permission, mother. I respect your opinions but, I need to do this." I told her. She went wide eyed and morphed her teeth into her natural fangs. I raised an eyebrow at her and she huffed. " That doesn't work on me anymore, mother." " I am your mother, Saderine and I say no. I already told you. Stretching limits here." She said, getting her pony teeth back. " It's dangerous. Who knows what your friends will think." " They will except me mother!" "How do you know that?!" "Dad still loved you!!!!" I yelled, regretting it. "Mom... I.." I looked at her face. She was mad, sad and about to cry. "Fine.." She said, looking at the ground. " Not a word of this to your brother." She was about to leave the room when I wrapped her in another hug. She wrapped her hooves around me and a tear hit my shoulder. "I'm sorry.." I told her. My dad was never in any of our conversations for one reason. Him and my mom never split up. He was still here in Ponyville. He was alive and so is she. All of his family and friends think my mother is dead.. They think I'm dead too.. " So, what did those reporters want??" I asked her when we had broken the hug. "They wanted to ask the royal nephew's mare friend how the family was taking it.." I sighed and looked peeked through my front window. Sure enough, the reporters were still there, chatting amongst themselves. "How dare they invade like that in a time of grief?!" I said to myself. "DOn't they know what death does to ponies?!" I felt something hard on my young when I spoke the last words. "Mom... My fangs!!" They had shown up without command.....Strange "You need to channel your anger, Saderine. Don't get too upset..." She said to me quietly. I guessed she didn't want my brother to run into the room over retaking about me and my 'carelessness'. "When are you going to tell them??" She asked when I had finished getting my fangs back in. I thought for a moment before making my decision. "The sooner the better, Mom... The sooner the better." I walked into the guest bedroom and watched the television as my brother played. A few guns were shot by the manual player and afterwards there was a bleeding pony stumbling towards it. *You killed Sparkfly!!!* The game said. Fang shot up and spun around a few times before seeing I was there. He blushed and threw his headset onto the bed. "Hey." He said causally. I chuckled and left the room, on my way to Blitz's and Lily's house. "Hey?? Where are you going?" He asked me as I walked down the hallway in my now not so quiet house. "Blitz's house. We are having a meeting there. Be back in a few hours!!" I said exiting the house before he could say anything.  "Here goes." "Haha, you're funny, Shimmerz , but seriously, why did you call this meeting so soon?" Melody asked me after I had just told them everything. I huffed a rolled my eyes. " Guys, I'm not joking!! I am a changeling and my mother is Queen Chrysalis. I needed to tell you so I wouldn't have to fake my death!!!" The whole room went silent and Cinnamon spit out his punch. "Fake your death?!?!" He yelled. "What are you trying to do, Shimmerz. Tell us your leaving Ponyville with your mom or something?!" Lily asked, obviously annoyed. They started chatting bout how stupid and immature I was being at the moment before Blue stood up and smirked. "Wait, GUYS!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!" He yelled, his echo booming through the house. "Prove it." My eyes went wide and my heart thrumped. "P...Prove it??" I asked. Jeez, I hadn't realized they wouldn't believe me. I looked at the group, then at Blitz. He was looking at the ground smiling.. Why was he smiling?? "Fine.." I said, my voice shaky.. " Don't flip out." "We won't.." Lily said, sarcastically.. " Trust me..." With that I focused on Saderine and heard a scream. I opened my eyes to see every pony looking at Cinnamon. " That was the highest scream I have ever heard.." Blue said, poking Cinnamon with his wing. All eyes were then on me... "I'm sorry...." Melody said I looked at her, still adjusting to the eye change. "Why??" I asked. Lily was already poking at the holes on my hooves. "Why would you be sorry??" "Cause we didn't believe you... We are your friends.." She looked at the ground and her mane shlumped over her face. I leaned down and brought her chin up. "Well.. I don't think any pony would have....It's okay, Mel." She smiled and hugged me for a bit. " Mel....Need...Air...." "On a totally related note." Blitz said, catching every pony's attention. He cleared his throat and  took a deep breath. "Whyisyourhairpink,howdoyoueatponyfood,whydidn'tyoutellusbeforeandhowdidyounotknowthatalicornscansensechangelingmagic???" He said quickly. I processed all that he said and answered: "My hair is pink because my dad was a pony. I eat pony food because I have a rare decease called Ponymonsomia that only lets me eat food so I can't feed on love, also because of my dad. I was scared and WHAT?!?!" I said " You knew this whole time and didn't tell me!?!?!" I thought I was going to explode. He knew the whole time that I was a changeling....."Wait...Did you think I was using you??" He looked hurt. "Maybe...." I huffed at him and changed back into Shimmer Shine. "I thought you were using me until I met your mother..." "How does that work??" Melody asked him " Did she tell you!? Oh youwerekeepingsecretsagainwernt'youBlitz?!ohIknewit.Iknewit" "MELODY!!!" We all shouted. She shrunk back into the couch and smiled. "I had sensed that she was Chrysalis and realized you wouldn't have made her and Fang come if you didn't really love all of us..." I smiled at them. "I love all of you... That's rare for a changeling to do but, hey, I'm a rule breaker.." Melody sprang up and wrapped me in a hug followed by Lily,Blitz,Cinnamon and Blue. These were my friends.. My true friends... It was true that I really did love them all. "So, why did you leave Chrysatopia?" Blitz asked as we sat on the grass in the park. It was just me and him. The rest of the group was at the fair and we would be meeting them later. " It was absolutely awful there. Hate filled the air and I could never do anything but sit on the throne beside my mother and smite ponies..." I chuckled remembering me and Fang as little fillies, we played the ' let mommy be the judge of who was the best at putting stuffed animals to their doom' game all the time. "It doesn't sound so bad...." He said. I raised an eyebrow at him and he laughed. "Okay okay. It sound awful but, you escaped...Somehow..." He took a bite out of his sandwich and coughed. "So now that I know you and your crazy decease are preventing you from stealing love and all that crazy derping stuff... Can I tell you something??" He looked suspicious and I cautiously replied. "Yes??" I said. He leaned in and whispered " Hi." He laughed and flew up in the air. "You're it!!!" He yelled. I stood up and flapped my wings, chasing after him in the air. He stayed in his place in the air until I reached him. As he planned his escape root I poked him on the head, leaving him wide eyed. Before I took off I laughed. "You're it!!!" With that, I took to the skies and smiled. "Everything is gonna be alright" //-------------------------------------------------------// Forever //-------------------------------------------------------// Forever    " You know, you aren't the most confident pony either." Lily said as her and Blue were riding the ferris wheel. They had spent the whole night together. Laughing, talking and doing absolutely horrible at eye contact. How do I know this? Well, she told me EVERY. LAST. DETAIL. They had been talking about how Cinnamon and Melody were dodging their 'feelings' for each other. All of the sudden, Blue brought up how he has a hard time with that stuff. Emotions. He looked at her in a way that made her realize, he liked her back. "Well, I am trying to do this right, Lily." He said softly. Lily blushed and looked at the view from the top of the spinning wheel. He laughed and smiled. " Lily?" HE asked her. She turned back around and smiled. She looked in his eyes and thought she might melt. Blue chuckled and leaned in until there muzzles were almost together. Then, Lily smiled and.... "Oh my goodness, Lily please stop." Melody said, interrupting her alicorn friend before she could say anything more. Melody was plugging her ears. I sat and wondered about it. Lily and Blue.... Blue and Lily...... "OH MY GOODNESS BLUELILY!!!" I shouted, scaring them both. Lily blushed and Melody shook her head. "Shimmerz, you are a genius.." She said. " Shipping... Shipping everywhere!!" She said, grabbing Lily and shaking her. Lily pushed Melody away and smiled. "Whatever. You guys are crazy." She said, starting to walk towards the exit of the park. "But. You guys are gonna be so cute together!!!" Melody shouted. We exited the park and saw all three colts running towards us. Lily hid behind Melody and gave me a ' hide' look. I shook my head and smiled. As the colts came closer, Melody raised an eyebrow. "SLOW DOWN" She shouted. They all stopped at least three feet away from us and sat on their haunches. "Fire?" "No" "Kiddnapping??" "Nope" "Pinkamina??" "No.. Wait what?? "Nothing!" Melody looked at me and smiled, evilly. I chuckled and looked at the colts again. "What are you crazy ponies doing?" I asked them. They all looked at each other and smiled. Cinnamon stood up and walked behind Melody and looked at Lily. "Congrats!!!" He shouted, sarcastically. Lily's eyes widened Blue got up and pushed Cinnamon's head making Cinnamon almost fall over. Blue gave Lily a hoof and he helped her up. "That's not the reason we came." Blue said, looking at Blitz. We all looked at Blitz who was still sitting on the ground. He cleared his throat and stood up. "There's a spell." He said, mysteriously. We all gave him a deadpanned look. "Ugh, a spell that can make ponies immortal without being Alicorns." He said. "What?!" We all said in unison. He smiled and looked at me. " All we need is two Alicorns and a changeling." He said. I looked at the group. This was a great thing. I mean, only Blitz, Lily and I were going to live longer than every pony else. These were my friends, family practically... "Let's do it." We set up in the  basement of Lily and Blitz's house. I was pacing back and forth, trying to decide if the spell was hard enough or not. I mean, I could do it but, this could unlock immortality for all ponies, causing takeovers, wars "Shimmerz??" Blitz said, interrupting my thoughts and my pacing. I looked at him and smiled. " Are you okay?" He asked me. "Yep" I said to him. I sighed and concentrated on Saderine. I closed my eyes and heard a flash. I opened my eyes and felt my fangs resting very uncomfortably in my mouth. I opened my mouth and poked my fangs with my hoof. "They're alright, just haven't been used in a while." I said to Blitz who was giving me a concerning look. Lily walked over to us and smiled. "Ready?" She asks us. We both nodded and started walking to the center of the large underground room. A circle made of a star was drawn with chalk. Each had a circle on each point. This wasn't a normal star though, it was six pointed, for all of us. I stopped in a circle and the others entered theirs. Lily nodded at Blitz who nodded at me. We closed our eyes and concentrated. I clenched my teeth. It was hard. I could feel the Alicorn energy but, that's not something changelings are used to. My eyes flashed open. I could see the transformation happening right before my eyes. A mixture of pink, purple and light brown blurs surrounded Melody, Blue and Cinnamon. They each looked sorta scared but, confident. The magic flowed all throughout the room, making it very bright. It was getting brighter. Once it was almost blinding, it popped and sent all of us flying to different corners of the room. I felt magic surging through my head and tried to stand up with little success. "Ow... Immortality hurts.." Cinnamon said, rubbing his head. He smiled at Melody who was upside-down on the wall. Her eyes spun in her head and laughed. "Did it work??" She asked as she flopped onto the ground. We all turned to Blitz and Lily. Lily shrugged and looked at Blitz. "Only the changeling could see the transformation happening. Shimmer Shine??" All attention was turned on me and I thought. Light. Flash. Pop. "Yeah. It worked." Everypony leaped up and wrapped in a group hug. I turned back into Shimmer Shine and smiled. A combination af laughter echoed throughout the room. "Now we will all be together!!! Forever!!" Melody exclaimed. We stood in a circle and smiled. "Forever"         "Shimmerz!! That never happened!!"
