Don't let me down!

Don't let me down - In the middle of the storm

"Daddy!" Mellow bounced up to a stallion, lime in colour, with a hoof as his cutie mark,

"Yes?" he sighed,

"Whats wrong?" Mellow frowned, and sat next to her dad. They were at a table, a piece of paper, full of letters and numbers lay before them,

"Nothing..." The stallion replied,

"Whats wrong?" Mellow repeated,

"Fine..." the stallion sighed,

"Life is hard...we don't have enought bits to raise you, and pay for mum's hospital bill, and pay all the other bills..."

"Oh...S-So what are we gonna do..." The young mare Mellow replied,

"We're gonna have to leave something...wether it be your mother...or us...we can't stop paying the bills for the house...but mom will die if we don't pay her hospital bill..." The stallion said, with a few tears rolling onto the table as he put his head down on it,

"W-What are gonna do?" Mellow asked,

"I can't do anything...Mellow, you must promise me..." The stallion turned to Mellow, and took her hoof,

"Your talent is music...make some money, get yourself a place to live in...and live a life, free of worry that someday, you can't afford to keep your family alive...promise me Mellow, you'll do that," The stallion cried,

"Y-Yes dad! I will, in the name of Celestia and Luna, I promise, I won't let you down!" Mellow cried,

"Don't let me down! Please, whatever you do, just don't let me down!"  The stallion squeezed Mellow's hoof,

"I promise dad!" They both hugged, it was silent besides the crying, they stopped hugging with wet shoulders from tears,

"Go now, go and pack your things, i'll give you some bits to start off with, it'll get you a place, you'll be sharing it with others a bit like you," The stallion kissed Mellow's forehead,

"Y-Yes dad!" Mellow took a pouch of coins from her father, and went to pack her things.

With two large saddlebags on Mellow's back, she hugged her father,

"G-Goodbye dad..." Mellow cried,

"Bye..." The stallion replied, they both hugged for the last time, Mellow slowly approached the door,

"Bye dad..." Mellow said, this was the last time she was going to see him. Now she had to follow his words, get a place to live, and make some money. She was going to start a new life. A whole new peice of paper to write her story on - the story of her life ahead - keeping to her fathers promise.
