Chapter One: Crystal Dreams
"Who wants a Flüegelhorn?" Rainbow Dash yelled into the crowd.
"I want a Flüegelhorn!" Pinkie Pie yelled at the cyan blue pony.
"Who else wants a Flüegelhorn?" Rainbow rolled her eyes.
"I WANT A FLÜEGELHORN!!!" Pinkie insisted. Rainbow grunted and surrendered a horn to Pinkie.
Pinkie Pie giggled and hopped away. She inhaled and blew the flüegelhorn. She coughed and fell as a shimmering black powder floated out of the horn and encased her. Then all went black.
She awoke in what looked like the Crystal Castle during (Ex)King Sombre's reign. "Hello?" her voice echoed through the dark hallway. "Hello?" Nothing. She started to walk until she couldn't see past her nose. As she kept walking she stumbled over stray crystals growing from the floor and walls. "Rainbow?" She called for her friend. "Are you playing with my brain?" No response. She kept on walking. Scary noises came from in the walls. Screams, slithers, and evil cackles echoed through her ears. This is not real Pinkie She said to herself. Rainbow Dash is playing a joke on you. Don't be scared.
She shivered, "Rainbow, this was funny half an hour ago. Now its just plain creepy. Good job on the props though!" She squinted as she saw a beam of light in the distance. She broke into a gallop, stumbling and scratching her pelt on crystals. She came upon a mirror. She examined it. It sort of looked like a mirror she saw in Canterlot. She looked inside and gasped. She saw her, but it wasn't her. It was a pink pony with a pink mane, and the same three balloon cutie mark, but she looked different. That's not right. Pinkie thought. I have a curly mane. And that crazed look in my eye......
She woke up in a hospital room to three pairs of worried eyes. She blinked as she made out Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity.
"Oh, Pinkie darling! You're awake! I was afraid that you-" Rarity started.
"-Rarity! Now quit being so dramatic before you scare the poor thing. She's been out for 2 hours!" Applejack walked toward Pinkie. "Are you okay there?"
"Yeah, I think so. All I did was blow the horn...."Pinkie started. Then she felt woozy.
"Pinkie, Pinkie? Are you okay? What's wrong with her?" Came the voices of her friends. Which friends? You don't have any friends! Y-yes I do! Why would I say something like that?
Then the wooziness stopped and her vision came back. She looked around the room as she shook her head violently. Her eyes drifted to her friends, who looked horrified. They were shaking as she looked at them, confused. What's wrong with them? Why do they look-look so scared?
"What's wrong?" Pinkie tilted her head.
"I don't know what in tarnation just happened, but you didn't have to be so mean!" Applejack told her.
"Wh-what did I say?" Pinkie was confused.
"You said that we were not your friends, and we were horrible people! What kind of friend says that?" Rarity raced out of the room, followed by Fluttershy and Applejack.
I-I didn't say those things! You didn't, but I did!
Chapter Two: Popped Balloons
Pinkie paced around her room. "Hey look Gummy. The pegasi made a storm today." She said to her pet alligator. She stared out of the window to a deserted city. Everyone went inside.
Suddenly, she heard a knock at her door. Pinkie trotted over and opened it. In the doorway was Twilight Sparkle.
"Hello Pinkie. I heard you felt under the weather. I brought you some cupcakes."
Suddenly, the dizziness came again she collapsed to the floor. When she came to, she saw Twilight blinking violently, a bewildered look on her face.
"Pinkie, are you not telling me something?" Twilight managed to spit out. Pinkie cocked her head. She looked past Twilight at a mirror in her room and saw that pony with the flat pink mane. The mare smiled evilly and giggled, a crazy look in her eye. Who are you? I'm you silly! But how? You-you can't be me! I wouldn't say those things! Not to my friends! Oh Pinkie, don't you remember me? The little filly on the rock farm, who never smiled, until you pushed me away to make room for rainbows and parties? Oh, and friends?No! Pinkie didn't notice that Twilight left, scribbling down noted madly on a notepad.
Twilight ran to meet her friends, scribbling down her observations on her notepad. She ran to the library to meet the concerned faces of Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy. They leaned in as Twilight began to speak.
"Well, I went to see Pinkie." Twilight declared.
"And, how is she? Poor little darling is out of her mind!" Rarity exclaimed dramatically.
"She said that this place was horrible and that she'd rather go back to the rock farm than have to deal with us. But I noticed that she collapsed in a dizzy fit, and her mane seemed to be flatter than usual. Then when her mane poofed up a bit, she had no idea what she had just said. Then she kept staring at something, like she was in some sort of trance."
"So what are ya saying, sugar cube? What in tarnation is wrong with 'er?" Applejack asks.
"I don't know, all this evidence points to one thing. Remember when we threw a surprise party for her? She had the flat mane and a crazy look in her eyes, like she went insane when she thought we didn't think she was our friend. But when we showed her she was, she was, well, Pinkie again."
"So I think I get it, if its okay to intrude," Fluttershy said softly. Twilight nods, and she continues," Maybe Pinkie thinks we're ignoring her, so I think we need to spend more time with her."
"You spoke my mind Fluttershy. But before we go, we need to speak to someone!" Twilight and her friends rushed out and headed toward the Everfree Forest
