//-------------------------------------------------------// The Connection in Our Hearts - An MLP:FIM Fan Fiction -by RedZobe- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 The morning sun began to rise over the hills and the residents of Ponyville began to awake from there slumber and begin there daily objectives. At Twilights library, Spike was as usual sleeping longer than Twilight wanted him to.  Twilight approached Spike's bed and pulled the duvet off him, waking him up in an instant. “Twilight! I was having a nice sleep then, and you have to come in and ruin it!” Spike grumbled. “Don't give me that, Spike, you always oversleep!” Twilight Sparkle firmly said. “Besides, morning is here now. So you might as well stop grumbling and get a move on.” Twilight went back downstairs to continue reading. Spike slowly climbed out of bed and dragged himself downstairs. “Oh, so you decided to come out of bed? That's a surprise.”  Twilight sarcastically said. “Very funny, Twilight.” Spike grumbled, but smiled afterwards. Twilight put her book down and spoke to Spike. “What do you want for you breakfast today?” Twilight asked smiling. “Hold on. Aren't I the servant round here?” Spike said with a confused face. “Well, you're lucky I'm in a good mood today.”  Twilight chuckled. “And why is that?” Spike asked. “Because.”  Twilight answered. “Now, what do you want for breakfast?” “Hmmm... maybe some Hoof Hoops might do the stomach good.”  Spike requested. “OK then.”  Twilight gleefully said and set to work. Spike was going into the dining room, when an newspaper fell through the door flap. Spike rushed to it and carried it with him to the dining room. He sat down at the table and put the newspaper on it. He watched Twilight prepare his breakfast, as well as her own. “Doing anything important today?” Spike asked. “Nothing on the agenda today. You?” Twilight responded. “Same here.” Spike said. Twilight brought the food to the table and they began to eat. Spike browsed through the news, seeing if there was anything interesting. “Anything good today?” Twilight asked. “Government rubbish and that.” Spike said, still browsing through the newspaper. “Typical. It fells like they always write the same story every day. It's like they ran out of originality and went into desperate measures by writing up stuff about government, sales and all that stuff no ones interested in anyway.” Twilight explained. “I agree, but there are some political news that catches the eye.”  Spike debated. “Still, only about 2.2% of ponies in Ponyville probably care about it, maybe even less.”  Twilight replied. Spike said nothing, it was a waste of time arguing with mares. The two continued to consume there food in silence.                                                                                                            * Later that day, Spike was cleaning the bookshelf's and Twilight was reading one of her many thousands of books. Spike dusted a large proportion of the dust and it went in his face, causing him to cough and choke. “You OK Spike?”  Twilight called. “Yeah, I'm OK.” Spike called still coughing slightly. Spike moved down an column and started dusting again. He then spotted Twilight walking towards the door. “Twilight, were you off to?” Spike asked. Twilight turned and looked at Spike. “Oh, just for a stroll round Ponyville,  just something to do to pass an hour or something.”  Twilight answered. “See ya.” Twilight opened the door and left. “Well, back to dusting it is then.”  Spike said to himself and continued cleaning the books.                                                                             * At long last, all the books were spotless as if they had come fresh from a factory. Spike put down the duster and went upstairs for a rest, when he spotted something out the window. “Huh?”  Spike said and looked out the window. A big cart with “BARRY AND SON'S REMOVAL SERVICE”  written on the side had pulled up to  one of the houses that had been on the market for a few days. Two stallions unhinged themselves from the cart and placed the stills down to keep the cart in balance. Then they went round the back of the cart and opened up the doors. Shortly afterwards, a second horse drawn coach pulled up. “These must be the new occupations.” Spike said to himself. The coach doors opened up. A mare exited the coach with two bags on her back. Then, to Spikes surprise, a dragon the same type and size as him exited the coach holding two bags. “Looks like I'm not the only dragon in Ponyville anymore!” Spike happily said. He watched as the two stallions moved all sorts of furniture into the house. Stuff like the coach, tables, cabinets, cupboards, wardrobes and all sort of things. At last, it had looked like everything had been sorted out and moved in. The mare waved the two stallions off as they set back to where they came from. As soon as they had  gone, the mare and small dragon entered their house. “What you looking at Spike?” asked Twilight. Spike jumped and turned around to see Twilight standing behind him. “Oh, just some new family moving into Ponyville.” Spike answered “And guess what, the family has a dragon just like me!” Twilight looked at Spiked surprised. “Oh, that's cool! You wont be the only dragon in Ponyville anymore it seems.  Well anyway. I'm going to get the supper on, OK?” Twilight said. “Still in that good mood are we?” Spike laughed. “Yep!”  Twilight smiled and headed downstairs. Spike continued to look at the newly owned house, relieving him that he wasn't the only dragon in Ponyville anymore. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 The next two days passed like any other day; oversleep, breakfast, chores, supper, more chores and then bedtime. The next day was no same, up to supper time. As Twilight and Spike were consuming their supper, a knock came from the front door. Spike rose to get it, but Twilight gestured him to stay where he was. “I'll go answer it.” Twilight said. Spike watched on as Twilight walked up to the door and opened it. It revealed the pony that had moved in yesterday. Spike was surprised. “Do I know you?” Twilight questioned. “I've heard of you though.” The pony said. “They say your popular round here; am I correct?” “Indeed I am.” Twilight said, blushing slightly. “Well, we just moved in nearby you, and I was thinking...would you join our house warming party tonight at 7:00pm?” The pony asked. “OK then.”  Twilight accepted “What's your name?” “Elizabeth Karks. But you can call me Lizze if simplicity is your thing.” Elizabeth said. Twilight smiled. She liked Elizabeth's personality. “OK then. I'll pop in by 8.” Twilight said. “See you later then!” Elizabeth said and closed the door. “So that's her name? Elizabeth? Rather posh name I say.”  Spike said, who had heard the entire conversation. “She seems very kind and thoughtful.” Twilight said. “Now, back to my supper!” Twilight walked back to the table and continued to eat her supper. Spike peeked at Elizabeth's house. At last, he would get the chance to meet the little dragon he saw when they moved in.                                                                            * “So, what do you think of it?” Elizabeth said to Twilight, who was sitting beside her holding a glass of punch. “For a small house, I have to say it looks rather big.” Twilight said, looking round the room. “Yeah. We move here from Manehattan just yesterday.” Elizabeth said  “Trust me when I say this. The house we lived in before we moved here was an absolute tip, and so was the area we were living in. Gangs, crime, attacks and drug smugglers; it was to much to bear. So, one night, I said to my self  “I shouldn't have to deal with this crap anymore.” So then I looked in the newspapers for a nice small place that me and my daughter could live in. At no time at all, we found this place up for sale. So using my spare bits I had saved up over the years, and selling some of my old items that could be worth a few bits, I bought this house. And...well here I am!” “Dear me, you must have had a rough time in those suburbs. Poverty on the rise, fatal attacks and all that. I don't think I could cope a week in the state that you lived in.”  Twilight said, feeling sorry for Elizabeth. “Oh, I forgot to mention to. We got robbed this one time.  Nothing valuable was stolen, and we got all the items that had been nicked back to us.”  Elizabeth added. “Oh my...”  Twilight gasped. Spike fought his way through the ponies and reached Twilight. “Oh hi ,Spike! Meet Elizabeth, the owner of this house.”  Twilight introduced. “Hello, Spike. Nice to meet you.” Elizabeth said, greeting him with a hoofshake. “Nice to see you to.” Spike responded. “Do you know where the toilet is?” “Upstairs darling, and its the second door on the right.” Elizabeth instructed. “Thanks” Spike said. Spike fought the crowd and reached the stairs. He walked up them and entered the door on the right.  He entered the room and sat on the toilet. After he had finished, he exited the bathroom and was just about to go back downstairs, when he spotted the dragon from yesterday. From closer up he could see more detail. The dragon had the same looks as him, (I don't know much about the dragon parts in MLP:FIM, so prepare yourself for some bad explaining) except the top of the dragon was a blueish sort of colour,  it had a red body and the spikes on its tail were more curved than sharp. Spike had never seen such a beautiful dragon in his life. “Hi, are you lost?” The dragon spoke, signalling that she was a female dragon. Spike froze on the spot. He didn't know what to say or what to do. “Urmm...no-no not at all. I'm perfectly fine th-thank you.” Spike said shyly. The red dragon approached him. “Is there something wrong?” She asked. “Nope, not at all.” Spike awkwardly said. “What are you hiding?” She asked cheekily, beginning to tickle Spike. “Hey' what are you doing? Stop! That tickles!” Spike laughed as the red dragon continued to tickle him. After a while she stopped. “Your cute, you know that?” She smiled. Spike's face went bright red. “Aww, stop it.” Spike said, blushing even more. “No really, you look as handsome as...well...actually I don't know, but what ever! Your still cute.”  She happily said. Spike swung his leg nervously, trying to think of something he could say back to her. “You have the most beautiful face a dragon could love.” Spike said. The red dragon giggled slightly at his remark. “The names Rebecca by the way.” She said. “I'm Spike, nice to meet you.” He said, shaking her claw. “You know” Rebecca started “I've never had a real friend before and...well...any of the other friends I've had have  back stabbed on me or left me...and I'm just wondering...would you like to be my friend?” “Of course I will!” Spike said. Hoof steps could be heard coming up then stairs. It was Elizabeth. She saw Spike and Rebecca together and chuckled. “I see you've meet Rebecca.” Elizabeth said “Nice isn't she?” “Without a doubt.” Spike answered. “Me and him are friends now.” Rebecca chirped. “Well that's nice to hear.  Do you want some time to yourselves?”  Elizabeth said. “OK then.” Spike accepted. Elizabeth went back downstairs, leaving Spike and Rebecca to themselves. “Can I tell you a secret?” Rebecca whispered. “Fire away.” Spike said. “Well, I used to have this filly as my ponyfriend. His name was Albert. When I first met him, I thought he was all fit and that and he would be by ponyfriend forever. We were together for five months...then...then”  Tears began to drip down Rebecca's eyes. Spike put his arm on her back to comfort her. “What happened?” Spike asked. “I saw him one day, han...hanging out with  another filly. I was absolutely  heartbroken; as if my heart had been smashed to several pieces before me. After recess, I confronted him and asked what he was doing with that other filly. “Look, I was going to tell you.” He started. “I slammed his locker door to intimidate him” “TELL ME WHAT?!  THAT YOU'VE CHEATED ON ME?! HOW COULD YOU?! AND AFTER ALL THE THINGS WE SAID AND ALL THE  THINGS WE  WERE GOING TO DO!!” I screamed at Albert, who began to look a me with guilt “You know what? I don't even know you anymore.” I finally said. “Then I walked away. I never spoke to him again, and tried to not think about it. But I couldn't get it out of my head. I just couldn't...” Rebecca began to cry.  Spike held her close to him. “Don't cry now. You've got me now. I'm not going to back stab you or what's not. I'm not like that.” Spike calmly said. After a few minutes, Rebecca stopped crying and wiped her tears away. “I'm sorry you had to see me like this. I'm so sorry.” Rebecca said sadly. “It's OK. We all get a little upset now and then.” Spike explained. “It's perfectly normal.” Spike and Rebecca looked at each other for the longest time, as if it was lasting for an eternity. Rebecca put her arms on Spike shoulders. Spike moved his hands on her shoulders  to. Suddenly, Rebecca kissed Spike. Spike opened his eyes in shock, wonder, and fear. It felt so wrong...but it felt so right at the same time. Spike closed his eyes and held her face close to his. And there lips touched. They kissed for what felt like forever. After long last, they stopped and let go of each other. They looked awkwardly at each other. “That was...umm...”  Spike began. “You may look like a 13 year old, but you kiss like a 40 year old!” Rebecca laughed. Spike laughed a bit to. “So...” Spike started but didn't finish. “Do you want to be my colt...or...what they call dragons together.” Rebecca quietly said. “Dragonfriends? Yeah. I'd be glad to.” Spike accepted. “SPIKE! Were going!” Twilight called. Spike suddenly got up and looked downstairs. “Coming!” Spike called. Rebecca got up and looked at Spike. Spike looked back. “So...do you wanna met Friday...or...whenever?” Rebecca asked. “I say this Friday?” Spike said. “Agreed.” Rebecca smiled. “SPIKE! I'm not spending all night down here!”  Twilight yelled. “COMING!”  shouted Spike.  He looked back at Rebecca. “So... I'll guess I'll be off then. Bye.”  Spike said. “Bye.”  Rebecca replied. Spike rushed down the stairs and greeted Twilight at the door. “Oh, so NOW you come!”  Twilight sighed “Come on, lets get home.” Twilight opened the door for Spike and closed it behind her. Spike walked all the way back to the library with a  massive grin on her face.  At long last, he finally had a dragonfriend. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 The morning dawned and Spike woke up earlier than usual. He headed downstairs and began making breakfast. Twilight walked in, surprised to see Spike up so early. “You're up early. That's a surprise.”  Twilight said. “You had a good mood yesterday, so I'm returning the offer.” Spike said gleefully. Twilight said nothing and sat down at the table and began looking at yesterdays paper. Soon enough, Spike brought Twilights breakfast, as well as his own. They sat down at the table and began eating. “That party was good last night, wasn't it?” Twilight said to Spike. “The best I've ever been to in fact!” Spike happily said. “Why? What happened at it to make it your best?” Twilight asked curiously. “I got myself a dragonfriend!” Spike cheered. Twilight looked at Spike, confusion written all over her face. “A dragonfriend?”  Twilight said  “Never heard one of those before. But anyway, congratulations for finally getting one!” Spike blushed slightly. “Aw chucks. It's nothing really.” Spike chuckled. A knock from the door came. Spike rushed to the door and opened it. It revealed Rebecca. “Hi Spike.” Rebecca said. “I was just asking if we were still gonna hang out  tomorrow or something.” “You know I will darling.” Spike smiled “I'd do anything for you, you know that.” Rebecca kissed Spike on the cheek, unaware that Twilight was standing right behind Spike. “Ooohhhhh!! Kissing are we.”  Twilight whooped behind them. Spike and Rebecca stopped kissing and looked at Twilight. “Twilight!” Spike yelled as his cheeks went bright red. “Well, see you tomorrow then.” Rebecca said. “See ya.” Spike said and closed the door. As soon as the door shut, Twilight laughed her head off, stamping her hoof at the same time. “Ha ha REAL funny, Twilight.” Spike sarcastically said and went back to eating his breakfast. After a while Twilight joined him. “Sorry, Spike. I just had to!” Twilight laughed. “Yeah, well it really embarrassed me Twilight! Not cool!” Spike angrily said. Twilight stopped laughing and took him serious. “OK then, I'll stop. Sorry.” Twilight apologised. Spike said nothing, and they both continued to eat in silence.                                                                                                                * Later that day, Twilight and Spike were walking to Mrs Cake's bakery to help move some supplies. Twilight and Spike entered the bakery and Mrs Cake greeted them. “Oh am I glad to see you Twilight!” Mrs Cake greeted. “Glad to see you to.” Twilight said. “The boxes are round the back. I need them to be moved into the front so that the recycling cart can get them. I'll help.” Mrs Cake instructed. “On it.”  Twilight said and went into the store room, followed by Mrs Cake. Spike stood at the desk, waiting for Twilight to ask for help. “Spike? Where are you? I need some help here!” Twilight called. “Oh, coming!” Spike replied and rushed to her aid. The storage room was small and could only store a few boxes. Twilight grabbed a box and gave it to Spike. “Take it to the front where the other boxes are.”  Twilight explained. Spike carried the box to the front and placed it with the others, then went back to get another one. After an hour of moving and placing, all the boxes were out of the store room. And just in time, as the recycling cart arrived. The recycling ponies grabbed the boxes and placed them in the cart. When all the boxes were  loaded in, the two ponies hitched up and left. When the cart passed, it revealed Rebecca, standing on the other side of the road. Spike noticed her. “Hey, Mrs Cake, look at that dragon over there.” Spike said tugging her tail. Mrs Cake looked through the window and saw her. “What about it?” Mrs Cake said. “She's my dragonfriend.” Spike proudly said. “Ah, I see.” Mrs Cake said. “Have you gone on a date yet?” “Tomorrow we are, but I don't know where.”  Spike admitted. “Do you want to talk to her for a while?” Twilight offered. “Yes please.”  Spike said, and scurried out of the shop to meet Rebecca. “Dragonfriend? Well that's a new word to go in the dictionary.” Mrs Cake giggled. “I suppose.”  Twilight said. “How long have they been together? A week? Two months? Longer than that?” Mrs Cake asked. “Oh, she moved in Tuesday and they had a house warming party last night.” Twilight explained. “No one told me about that.” Mrs Cake said. “If I'd had know earlier, I would of invited my friends, but I thought you would be asleep and it wouldn't be nice if I woke you up.” Twilight said. “I wasn't asleep. I was trying to get Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake to sleep.  Took me forever you know!”  Mrs Cake sighed. “I understand.” Twilight said. Spike came back into the bakery, followed by Rebecca. “Oh, Spike. We was just talking about your dragonfriend while you were out.” Mrs Cake said. “Rebecca, meet Mrs Cake, the local bakery here. “ “Nice to meet you.”  Rebecca greeted. “Mr Cake would be here, but he's away on important business. He's due back later today. So you can pop in later to greet him.” Mrs Cake said. “OK” Rebecca said. “Say, you wanna hang out for a bit?” Spike asked Rebecca “Well, if you want to of course.” “I'd love to!” Rebecca said. “Can we Twilight?” Spike asked. “Of course.” Twilight responded. Spike and Rebecca held each others hand and walked out the bakery. “Isn't it cute?” Mrs Cake smiled. “I have to agree with you on that.”  Twilight chuckled.                                                                                                                 * Spike and Rebecca walked through town. Everypony was busy. They were talking, walking, eating, selling, pulling carts, yelling what they were selling; a typical Ponyville. “Nothing beats the  life for me” Rebecca smiled. “I prefer the countryside me.” Spike said. “But the urban life seems OK to.” As they were walking, Rebecca dragged Spike down an alley. “Woah! Where are we going?” Spike asked. They stopped and looked at each other. “There's no one around so...” Rebecca started awkwardly. “You wanna kiss me again, am I right?” Spike said. Rebecca nodded. “Then why didn't you tell me? I would of liked that.” “I just didn't want to...upset you or make you nervous that's all.” Rebecca quietly said. “Rebecca. I love you, and you know that. Don't be afraid to ask me anything.” Spike said. Rebecca slowly moved in. Spike moved in also. And it wasn't long before they kissed each other again. Spike wished that the feeling of being loved would never go away. “I love you, Spike” Rebecca said. “And I love you to. Nothing will ever separate us.” Spike smiled. And they continue to smooch each other until the sun went out.                                                                                                  * That night, Spike was reading one of Twilights books when Twilight entered the room. Spike spotted her and hid the book as quickly as he could. “Hi, Spike.”  Twilight greeted. “Oh- erm...hi Twilight!” Spike quickly said. “What are you hiding?”  Twilight asked. “Nothing.” Spike stuttered awkwardly. Twilight used her magic to lift Spike up, revealing a book. She placed him aside and looked at the books title, it read “RELATIONSHIPS AND ALL THAT STUFF” Twilight giggled. “Hey, its not funny.” Spike said embarrassed. Twilight looked at Spike, who looked upset. She walked over to him and cuddled him. “I'm just joking Spike. Nothing wrong with having a little laugh now and then.” Twilight softly said. Spike's frown turned into a happy smile. And they cuddled each other, just like best friends do. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Friday arrived at long last and Spike was excited.  Today was the day he was going out on his date with Rebecca. He washed his face especially that morning and took a browse through his wardrobe, looking for the best suit. “Nope, not that one...not that one either...nah, too shiny... ah ha! This looks perfect!” He said pulling out a tuxedo that had his initials signed on them. “She'll love this for sure.” Spike said to himself, and placed it back up on the hanger for later. He closed the wardrobe and went downstairs for breakfast. Twilight had already made hers. Spike pasted her and began making his breakfast. “Important night tonight isn't it?” Twilight said. “Indeed.” Spike said, bringing his breakfast to the table “I've got that date with Rebecca!” “Hope all goes well with you and her.”  Twilight said. “She hasn't decided were she wants to go for out date, neither have I by a matter for fact.” Spike said. “Well, I bet you'll find somewhere before you go.” encouraged Twilight. “Thanks.” Spike said and continued eating his breakfast.                                                                                          * Later that day, Spike walked into Mrs Cakes bakery, where Mrs Cake was at desk. “Hi Spike, what can I help you with?” Mrs Cake asked. “I need a present for my dragonfriend, Rebecca.” Spike started “What would you recommend?” Mrs Cake pondered for a moment. Then she had an idea. “I got it!” she triumphantly said. “I have a batch of cakes in store that have only been baked last week. I'll have a look for yer'” She left the counter and walked into the kitchen. When she came back, she had a batch of cupcakes on a tray. Some had beautiful iced flowers on them and some with love hearts on them. “Any that she would be interested in?” Mrs Cake asked, Spike looked at the cupcakes closely. “The ones with the flowers look a good choice...but the heart ones look good as well.”  Spike critically said. Spike just stood there staring at the cupcakes. “You decided yet?” Mrs Cake asked. At last, Spike made his decision. “OK. I'll have one heart cupcake and one flower cupcake please.” Spike ordered. “Aright then, that will be two bits please.” Mrs Cake said. Spike handed over two bits and placed them on the desk. Mrs Cake placed them in the cashier and gave Spike two of each of the cupcakes. “Thank you Mrs Cake.” Spike said and left the bakery. Mr Cake walked downstairs to Mrs Cake. “Who did you just serve?” Mr Cake asked. “Oh, just Spike. He just bought two cupcakes for his new dragonfriend.” Mrs Cake answered. “Dragonfriend? That's a new word.” Mr Cake chuckled. “That's what I said yesterday.” Mrs Cake said "I personally think they were made for each other." “Well, I hope they have many happy adventures together.” Mr Cake happily said. “Me to.”  Mrs Cake said. Suddenly the door opened again to reveal another pony. “Well, back to work it is then!” Mr Cake smiled. “I suppose.” Mrs Cake said, rolling her eyes. Mr Cake giggled and went back upstairs. “Hello, what can I help you with today?” Mrs Cake greeted the customer.                                                                                                   * Spike made some final adjustments to his suit. He looked in the mirror and wiped a small smudge off his face. Tonight, he wanted everything to go smoothly and easy. Twilight came up the stairs and stood by him. “So cute. Watching my little friend finally growing up to be a big dragon.”  Twilight softly said “Wish it hadn't have to come so soon.” “Don't worry Twilight, I'll always be the same small dragon you've grown up with through out the years.” Spike said. “I know, my little Spikey-wikey!” Twilight happily said, giving him a big hug. “We'll, I'll see you later.” Spike said. Twilight let go of Spike and he walked down the stairs to the door. He held the door handle and looked at Twilight. “I don't know when I'll be back.” Spike said “But hopefully it wont be to late.” “I'll be fine Spike.” Twilight replied. Spike opened the door and left the library. As soon as he entered the outdoors, the cold wind hit him like a ton of bricks. A good thing he had brought his coat with him. He closed the door behind and walked to Rebecca's house. He looked back at the library, its lights illuminating it in the dark scene. He knocked the door and waited for a reply. At last the door opened and revealed Elizabeth. “Where's Rebecca?” asked Spike. “Oh, she went out to find you a few minutes ago.” Elizabeth said “I'm sure she's not far.” “Thanks.” Spike said and closed the door. He began walking around Ponyville, which was dark except for the lights from the rooms glazing reflections onto the street. He walked for what felt like hours. As he was walking, he heard a voice behind him speak his name. He turned and saw Rebecca. “Ready for that big date of ours?” She said excitedly. “Too right!” Spike said. “Follow me. I know a good spot.” Rebecca said. She grabbed Spike's hand and they walked out of Ponyville. “Where are going?” asked Spike as they walked up a steep bank. “You'll see. I'm sure you will like it.” Rebecca smiled at him. Spike's question would not go unanswered for long. As they reached the top of the bank, they gasped. The view was beautiful. Ponyville could be seen in the distance. With all the lights on in the houses, Ponyville was a bright light in the distance, a few smaller lights were probably other houses. Everything looked so much better from far away. “Wow...” was all that Spike could manage to come out of his mouth. “Beautiful isn't it? It reminds me of Manehattan at night. All the buildings lights would be on, the stars would in the sky, it was amazing.”  Rebecca said. Spike and Rebecca sat down and gazed at the view, still holding each others hands. “Hey, that reminds me.” Spike said, grabbing something out of his pocket of his blazer “I got you this. The other one is for me.” Rebecca took one of the cupcakes out of his hand and unwrapped it. It was the heart one. But a small message had been engraved on it, saying “I love you”. “Oh, thank you ,Spike.” She said. “My engraving skills aren't the best. But hey, no one can perfect everything, right?” Spike replied. “I don't want you to ever be perfect, I just want you to be the same dragon you've always been.” Rebecca said, slowly edging closer to Spike. “We've only been together for three days. I'm  not sure you know that much just yet!” Spike chuckled. Rebecca laughed and Spike did to. Spike and Rebecca looked at each other for what felt like forever. “Spike.” Rebecca said. “Yes?” Spike answered. “ I hope me and you never part ways,” Rebecca said, placing her hands on Spikes shoulders “because you and me, we were made for each other, and I want it to stay that way; forever, until death do us part.” Spike placed his hands on Rebecca's shoulders also. “If I ever parted ways with you, I would never be able to find someone as beautiful as you.” Spike softly said. “I guess this is the part where we kiss each other.” Rebecca said. “Looks like it.” Spike quickly said, and kissed her. Rebecca held tight to Spike and kissed him to. As they kissed, a shooting star flew past them. Spike spotted it and addressed Rebecca. “Look, a shooting star! Quick, make a wish!” Spike said. Rebecca closed her eyes...and made a wish. When she had done, she opened her eyes and looked at Spike. “What did you wish for?” Spike asked. “I can't tell you, its bad luck.” Rebecca shrugged. Spike and Rebecca put there arms round another. “I love you.” Rebecca said. “I don't know how many times we might say that in our relationship, but still... I love you to.” Spike quietly said. They kissed each other again, and then gazed upon the bright Ponyville in the distance. There friendship would be a light, a light that would stay bright as there hearts, right until the very end. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 Spike woke up the next morning a happy and pleased dragon. His first date with Rebecca had gone well and he was sure it wasn't going to be the last. Twilight was busy reading one of her books when Spike tapped her. She stopped reading and attended to Spike. “Yes?” She asked. “Are you doing anything important at the moment?” Spike asked. “No, why?” Twilight replied. “Well, I was thinking of where me and Rebecca could go on our next date” Spike explained “And I was wondering if you had any good ideas.” Twilight looked up to the ceiling and began thinking. She began pacing and mumbling to herself. “How about the Evertree Forest?” Twilight recommended. “Won't that scare her?” Spike said. “You could take some torches with you.” Twilight said “Besides, it would be like a ghost hunt, eh?” Spike thought for a moment, then shook his head. “It would scare her too much.” Spike finally said. Twilight began thinking again. “What if you stopped round hers for the night, or she could stay here instead?” Twilight said. “That's a thought.” Spike said. “Or I could book you two tickets for a train to Canterlot and take her there for the day.” Twilight added. Spike sat down on a stool and thought for a few moments. Then he made a decision. “When does the booking office open?” Spike asked. “Well, its half six now”  Twilight said peering at the clock “and the booking office opens at seven. I could pop down there in a bit to get them.” “I'll let Rebecca know.” Spike said. “That's good.”  Twilight said “It'd be a good idea if you told her now.” “ Yes, I shall!”  Spike said. He walked to the door and left the library. He immediately walked to Rebecca's house and knocked the door. Rebecca answered opened it. “Oh, hi, Spike!” Rebecca greeted him with a kiss on the cheek “What brings you here?” “Twilight is booking us some tickets for us to go to Canterlot this afternoon.” Spike started “I was wondering if you would like to come along.” “Sure. I've got nothing to do today anyway.” Rebecca smiled “I'll just go and tell my mother.” Rebecca closed the door. Spike waited patiently outside for her to open it again. She opened it again with a  beaming smile. “She said be back by nine.” Rebecca said closing the door behind her. “Well, you might as well come into the library or a bit, as our train may not be due for a while.” Spike said. “OK.” said Rebecca. They both walked back to the library and entered it. Twilight was busy signing some paperwork when she spotted them. “Hi guys! I'm just off to get the tickets, see ya!” called Twilight as she galloped out the door, forgetting to close it. “I'll get it.” Spike said and closed the door. “Well, that escalated quickly.” Rebecca sighed. Spike pondered around thinking of what to do next. “You wanna snack or something?” Spike asked Rebecca. “Got any orange juice?” Rebecca said “We should do.” Spike answered “I'll go and check real quick.” He scurried into the kitchen and bent down to open the cupboard. He grabbed the bottle and got out a cup. As he poured it in, he felt like as if someone was touching his hips. He stop pouring and looked behind him. It was just Rebecca. “Your a sneeky one aren't ya?” Spike laughed. “Sorry if you got a little scared.” Rebecca said. “It's OK.” Spike said and continued to pour the orang into the cup. He then gave it to Rebecca, who drank it in an instant. “Nice. Better than the orange we have at home.” Rebecca said. Spike left the kitchen and looked out the window. He saw Twilight coming back to the library. “Twi's coming.” Spike called. Rebecca returned into the main room just as Twilight entered the room. “Here ya go. Two tickets for the nine thirty train.” Twilight said handing over the tickets to Spike. “Thanks.” Spike said. Twilight trotted upstairs to do some research, leaving Rebecca and Spike alone downstairs. Spike put on his coat and looked at the clock. It read quarter past nine. “Well, if we wanna go to Canterlot we must make a start to the station now.” Spike said to Rebecca. “OK then.” Rebecca said and followed him out the door.                                                                   * “The half nine train to Canterlot will be pulling into platform one very soon. Please prepare yourself to board.” The announcer said over the radio. Spike and Rebecca sat down on the bench underneath the station canopy. It had begun to rain. “It's raining.” Rebecca noted. “Well, a few drops of water isn't going to ruin our day out now is it?” Spike said cheerfully. “I suppose.” Rebecca said. The rails began to rattle and Spike looked up down the line as the train slowly rolled into the platform. “The nine thirty train to Canterlot is now standing at platform 1. Please board immediately.”  The announcer called as the train slowed to stop. The conductor opened the door and a flock of ponies left. When the crowd had eased out. Spike and Rebecca boarded and sat to the seats nearest to the door. The rain fell against the window, making the drops fall slowly against the window. “Ticket sir.” called the Conductor. Spike handed the tickets over and the Conductor pinched them with his ticket puncher. He handed them back and progressed to the next coach. “Nice seats these are.” Spike said getting comfortable. “Agreed.”  Rebecca said. The conductor got out the carriage, blow his whistle and waved his green flag. The driver of the train waved and the conductor entered the carriage. The driver opened the regulator slowly, as to not cause any wheel slip on the wet rails. As the train gradually got to its feet, the driver opened the regulator to half the pressure and the train slowly left the platform. Spike watched as the station and Ponyville disappeared out of view and they were soon in the countryside. Rebecca leaned against Spike and held her arm round his back. Spike did the same thing and they embraced for the entire journey.                                                                         * Twilight had just bought a fresh batch of cupcakes from Mrs Bake bakery and was on her way back to the library. As she trotted along, she spotted a cart parked in front of one of the house on sale. She saw two stallions carrying items into the house. She trotted towards the cart and spoked to the stallions. “Do you need any help?” Twilight asked. “We have a sofa here that we've been dreading to carry. Mind helping us?” asked the stallion. “Sure.”  Twilight said. She put her bag down beside the cart and helped the stallions carry the sofa into the house. “So, who are the new occupations?”  Twilight asked as they carried the sofa inside. “Oh, this posh family from Manehattan. Said they needed a quiet place to be.”  one of the stallions said. “We'll they've made the right choice.” Twilight said as they entered the would be living room. “Right. We'll place the sofa here.” said one of the stallions. Twilight and the two stallions slowly placed the sofa down in one spot. “There we go. Should do for now.”  Twilight said. Twilight and the two stallions left the house, just as a coach pulled up. “Must be occupants.”  said one of the stallions. The doors opened and out emerged a small colt and a mare. The small colt stopped and stared at the house. “A rather quaint house isn't it mother?” The small colt said in a posh accent. “Well, its certainly better than our other house.” The mare said. “But you said our new home would be spectacular, mother, you promised!” The small colt moaned. “Isn't it “spectacular” enough? We can't always have what we want in life, Dennis.” The mare said, revealing his name. “Hi there.”  Twilight said to the mare. “The names Celia; Celia Brunel.” Celia said “And this is our son, Dennis. Say hi, Dennis.” “Hello...who ever your name is.”  Dennis greeted. “The name's Twilight Sparkle, but call me Twilight for short if you wish.” Twilight replied. “No thank you, I always greet people by there full names.” Dennis said. “Well, whatever you prefer.” Twilight said. “Come on, Dennis. Let's have a look round our new home.” Celia told Dennis. “Oh, I have to go look round this thing they call a house.” Dennis said Twilight chuckled at Dennis' remark. “See ya then.” Twilight said. Dennis followed his mother into the house. Twilight turned and continued walking back to the library. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 Spike looked out the window at the many trees and houses flashing past. Rebecca tapped Spike on the shoulder. Spike turned and looked at Rebecca. “Yes?” Spike asked. “Are we there yet?” Rebecca said “I'm getting a little impatient.” “Don't worry, we'll be there soon.”  Spike said putting his arm round Rebecca. A mare and trolley began to walk down the aisle of the coach. She stopped at every passenger until she came to Spike and Rebecca. “Would you like anything from the trolley, dears?”  The mare asked. “You want anything, Rebecca?” Spike asked “I'll pay.” Rebecca scanned the trolley, which was filled with cold drinks, crisps and savoury treats. “I think I'll have a Karklen (which is a chocolate bar) I think.” Rebecca said to Spike. “OK then, one Karklen please.” Spike requested. The mare grabbed one from the trolley and handed it to Spike, who in return gave her two bits. She accepted them and continued down the coach. “Thanks.”  Rebecca said. “No need. As long as your happy, everything is OK.” Spike smiled. Rebecca was about to unwrap the wrapper, when she spotted something on it. She tapped Spike and he looked at her. “Yeah?” Spike asked. “It's a new flavour, look.” She said pointing it out. Spike looked closely and saw the writing. The new flavour was “Apple and Blueberry” “Never seen that flavour before.” Spike said surprised. “Lets have a taste, shall I?” Rebecca said and began to unwrap the wrapper. She soon got to the chocolate bar and took it out. She snapped it in half and gave half to Spike. “Why, thank you.” Spike said happily. They both bit into there treats. Rebecca swallowed her part, while Spike immediately took his out of his mouth. “Why don't you like it?” Rebecca asked. “It just doesn't work for me.” Spike said rubbing his tongue in an attempt to remove the foul taste. “Were all born different, so that's excusable.” Rebecca smiled. “I suppose.” Spike quietly said. “But I certainly have a good taste for you.” Spike chuckled. Rebecca laughed and put her arm round Spike's back and snuggled up close to him. Spike put his arm over Rebecca's back as well. They both looked outside the window at the houses, trees and hills fly past them as they sped along the line.                                                                   * The train finally arrived at Canterlot Terminus station. The conductor got out of the coach and opened all of the coaches doors. Immediately ponies began to flood out of the coaches and quickly occupy the station platform. Spike and Rebecca quickly blended into the crowd and were soon out of the station and into open space. Rebecca looked around and gazed at the tall skyscrapers and buildings. “These buildings are really tall!” Rebecca exclaimed, pointing at one. “Yeah. Some of the of the buildings are meant to be at least a hundred years old...or at least that's what I think.” Spike said puzzled. “Some of them are new; like that one over there.” Spike said, pointing at one of the tall buildings. “The exterior of that one was just finished two months ago, and now they almost finished doing out the interior.” “Interesting.” Rebecca said. Spike and Rebecca started to walk down the busy street, with carts rushing down the road minding there own business, ponies were walking up and down the pavement and everything was bustling as a city should be. “Is Canterlot always this busy?” asked Rebecca. “Oh, you should see it when there's a very special event; its packed!” Spike said. They continued walking down the street when Rebecca stopped and looked at the front of a fashion store that was named "Wazam" "Now this, this is my favourite fashion store ever." Rebecca explained "It always has the latest stock before any other store." "Looks rather...girly." Spike said. "Well duh! It's a fashion store, hardly going to be anything for boys!" Rebecca laughed. "Shall we go in it?" asked Spike. "What do you think the answer is?" Rebecca said. "Obviously-" "YES!" She yelled as she ran into the store, dragging Spike with her inside. Spike stopped and looked around the store. It was filled with designer clothes, perfumes and mares gossiping to each other about which clothes and dresses suited them. "I think I'll...wait outside." Spike said awkwardly. "OK then." Rebecca said, still looking at the dresses. Spike walked out of the store and breathed a fresh bit of air. "I certainly won't be seen alive in THAT store again!" He said to himself "Way too girly!" At long last, Rebecca came out with a bag in her hand. "What's in the bag I ask?" Spike said pointing at it. "Oh, just some perfume and that." Rebecca answered "Nothing important." "Alright then." Spike said "Let's keep walking." The continued down the busy street, staring at all the different types of stores and buildings. As they walked down the street, they looked at a big cart through a shop window. It was one of those big, luxurious ones with big windows, golden metal frames and massive wheels that were painted in gold and the entire body of the coach was painted in black. Inside the carriage was just as amazing as the outside. The interior was dust free and spotless, the seats were red and a table separated the seats. "That is one beautiful carriage." Spike said to himself. "You know" Rebecca said to Spike "I can imagine us in one of those carriages one day." Spike looked at her and smiled. "I bet it could happen." Spike said "You know, just me and you in that carriage, everyone would stare at us and think "That's the best carriage money could buy!" Boy would they be jealous!" "Yeah..." Rebecca said unsure "But look at the price tag." Spike looked at the price on the window and gasped. The carriage was valued at 600,000 bits. "Woah!" Spike exclaimed "That's a bit hefty isn't it?" "Well for how well built it is, let alone how long it took to build it, I suppose it has the reason to be highly priced." Rebecca truthfully said. "Point." Spike said agreeably. "Shall we continue walking?" Rebecca asked Spike. "I suppose." Spike said and they started to walk down the road again. As they walked, Rebecca continued to gaze upon the buildings in the distance, some of them only a blur or part of the horizon. “What's the tallest building in Canterlot?” Rebecca asked. “Oh, the tallest building around here is one of the towers in Princess Celestia's palace.” Spike said “Unfortunately, its off limits to the public.” Rebecca sighed a little. “Next tallest building?” Rebecca smiled. “Well...erm...a majority of tallest ones are actually office blocks or headquarters to several companies.” Spike explained. Spike looked around the area, seeing if he could find a decent building. Suddenly, Rebecca had an idea. “I think I remember this place I went to when I was young” Rebecca told Spike “I think I can roughly remember it...hmm...ermm...I think...” Rebecca tapped her foot trying to remember the place. Spike stood there watching her. “Ah yes, I remember now!” She suddenly said “I think it was that way.” Rebecca walked down the street and Spike followed her. Every street seemed the same, ponies walking, carts rushing and conversations galore. After walking for what felt like forever, she stopped and looked down a path. “Is this the path I think?” She said to herself. “I don't know.” Spike answered. She slowly walked down it and Spike followed her. They soon came up to a set of locked gates. Beyond them was a cobblestone path that led towards the edge of the city. Rebecca tried to open the gates, but they wouldn't budge. “The gates were always open when me and mother came.” Rebecca said confused. Spike looked behind him at the speeding carts and trotting ponies in the distance. “I'll see if I can find away inside.” Spike said. He observed the small gates. He looked at the bars and tried to separate them, but to no avail. However, when he tried it on the second gate, they opened apart. Spike looked behind him quickly. “We can get in quickly, but we must make sure no one sees us.” Spike said starting to enter the gap. Spike wedged himself through and was soon on the other side. "Your turn." Spike said. “Here goes nothing!” Rebecca said. She slowly struggled through the gap and joined Spike on the other side. “I'll lead, I know where we are going.” Rebecca said. “OK then.” Spike agreed. Rebecca walked down the path and Spike followed her. The path had overgrown since the last time Rebecca had come here. As they walked they spotted an abandoned information board. The papers were ripped or had been torn off and the wooden frame around it had begun to rot. Rebecca walked up to it. “This was in good condition the last time I saw it!” Rebecca said surprised. “Clearly this place is abandoned.” Spike said. “Its a shame really” Rebecca said looking around the area “This place used to be full of couples coming down her for a snuggle and that.” “Yeah...” Spike sighed. Rebecca continued down the path and Spike followed her. After walking down the abandoned pathway for a while, they arrived at a big balcony. Some parts of the fence were broken and the paint had begun to peel away. Despite the worrying condition of it, Rebecca walked on it. The balcony creaked under the pressure, which unnerved Spike. “It doesn't look safe to me.” Spike said worried. Rebecca stamped her foot on the balcony several times. Nothing happened. “Seems safe to me.” Rebecca smiled. Spike slowly walked onto the balcony and joined Rebecca. They both held each others hands and gazed upon the horizon. Ponyville could be seen in the distance with bright lights showing from the houses. The Evertree forest loomed in the distance, covering half of the area. The Sweet Apple Acres  farm and forest could also be seen. Through the cliffs they spotted a train entering the tunnel and exiting it again. “This is an amazing view.” Spike gasped “I've never seen Equestria like this before.” “Yeah. Me and my mother always came here when we took a visit to Canterlot. She always said “How about we take a look over Ponyville, dear?” she would ask. And I always said “Yes please, mother!” So we would walk down there and the gates would always be open. We walked down the path and ponies would pass us by.” Rebecca said “When we got to this balcony, most of the good views were taken, so we always when to this corner, over here” She grabbed Spike and took him to the area. “This was the view I always got. It isn't the best, but it was enough to keep me happy.” Spike smiled and continued to look at the view. “Do you know this place is closed?” Spike asked. “No, I didn't.” Rebecca answered  “It's a shame really to see it in this condition.” “Yeah.” Spike sighed. Spike and Rebecca continued to gaze at the horizon. Rebecca tugged on Spikes hand. “Spike?” Rebecca asked. “Yes?” Spike answered. “I know I've said this about a few times, but I hope we never separate or part.” She said. As the sun began to set slowly in the distance, Spike turned to look at Rebecca. “We won't; you know that. As long as we are together, we will always be happy.” Spike smiled. Rebecca looked at the sunset in the distance. "I like sunsets." She said "There always this certain...well...magic to them." "Huh?" Spike said confused. "Its the shadows they make." Rebecca said "Look at ours." Spike turned and looked at his shadow, which had enlarged towards the other side of the balcony, so had Rebecca's. "That pretty damn amazing!" Spike said. "You see how long they are?" Rebecca said to Spike. "Yeah." Spike said. "Very long." "That's how long I want our relationship to last for; a very long time, if not, forever." "Aww... that so cute." Spike said. "You know what?" Rebecca said slowly advancing to Spike "I think this deserves a kiss." Rebecca then hugged him and began to smooch him. Spike didn't resist and smooched her back. As they kissed on the balcony, it groaned loudly, startling Rebecca and Spike. “I take it that it doesn't support dragon couples!” Spike giggled. Rebecca laughed and they both walked off the balcony. As they were walking away from the balcony, it suddenly groaned again and they looked back. The balcony suddenly began to slowly give way and it fell into the pit below, giving of a ear piercing crash from below. Spike and Rebecca quickly ran back up the path, through the gap in the gate and walked back onto the street as if nothing had happened. “Oh dear.” Spike jokily said as they walked. “Your fault!” Rebecca teased. “You looked at it!” “Hold on, YOU went on it first!” Spike laughed. “Aw shut up you.” Rebecca laughed nudging him. The couple laughed and chuckled all the way back to the station.                                                                                * The couple had caught the train back and were soon back in Ponyville. They left the station and walked back to Rebecca house.  They soon arrived and stopped outside her house. “Well, that was a nice day out wasn't it?” Rebecca sighed. “Indeed it was.” Spike responded. “So I'll...see you later then.” She smiled. “Yep.” Spike said. “Love you.” Rebecca smiled. “Love you to.” Spike smiled back. She then kissed him on the cheek and entered her house. Spike turned and walked back to the library. As he walked, he bumped into a small filly. “Argh! Sorry there little one!” Spike apologised. “Watch where you are going you silly baboon!” The filly responded. “There no need to be rude.” Spike said shocked. “Oh, I'm sorry. Just wrong words at the wrong time.” The filly said quietly. “It's OK” Spike reassured. “What's your name?” “Oh, me? The names Dennis.” Dennis said. “Dennis it is then” Spike said “Rather nice name.” “Indeed it is.” Dennis replied “Rather splendid if you ask me.” “Where do you live?” Spike asked. “Oh, just over there” He said pointing to it  “It's that one, just around the corner.” “Looks nice.” Spike said. “I think its old fashioned and out of date” Dennis criticised “But it's certainly better than a rubbish filled alleyway any day.” “Point.” Spike agreed. “Dennis! Time for supper!” yelled his mother from out the door. “Coming!” Dennis called and then turned to Spike “Well, I'll see you later then.” “Yep.” Spike said “See you then.” “Bye.” Dennis said and ran back home. Spike turned and walked to the door of the library. He went into the library and sat down on a stool exhausted. Twilight  trotted downstairs and patted Spike on the back. “So, how did it go?” Twilight asked with a grin on her face. “You know, girly sort of things like fashion shops, dinner, you know.” Spike said exhausted. “Sounded good.” Twilight said. Spike eyes began to close and slowly began to fall of the stool. As he began to fall off, Twilight caught him on her back and carried him upstairs. He quietly put him in his bed and put the duvet over him. “Good night, Spikey-wikey.” Twilight quietly said and walked down the stairs to do some late night studying. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7 Spike was woken up by the shining light leaking out of the curtains. He gave a huge yawn and walked down the stairs to greet Twilight, who was eating her breakfast. “Your late getting up.” Twilight said. “Well, I was out for the entire day yesterday and I was really tired. So yeah, it's pretty obvious.” Spike replied grabbing the milk bottle out of the cupboard. “Oh, I forgot to ask,” Twilight said to Spike “How did your day out go with Rebecca?” “Great.” Spike said walking to the table with a glass of milk. Spike sat down on the chair and sipped at his glass of milk. “Anything planned for today?” Twilight asked. “Not at this moment of time.” Spike said “So, no.” Twilight got up and placed her plate on the kitchen surface, then walked out of the dining room and into the library to do some studying. Spike went upstairs and went straight back to bed. He had hardly any sleep, and he needed it. The next time Spike woke up, it was 12:42pm. “Woah, did I sleep for that long?” Spike said to himself in wonder  “I must be a pro at sleeping!” Spike slowly got out of bed and looked out the window at Ponyville. Ponyville was busy, as usual. “Might go and check to see how Twilight is.” Spike said slowly exiting his bed. He walked down the stairs and saw Twilight as usual happily reading her books. “I might just go out for a bit, OK Twilight?” Spike called to Twilight, who turned her head in his direction. “OK then.” Twilight replied and continued reading her book. Spike opened the door and left the library, then closed the door behind him. He breathed the fresh air outside. “I wonder how Rebecca is doing.” Spike smiled to himself. He began to walk to Rebecca's house. He arrived at her house and knocked the door, to whom her mother answered. “Hello, Spike.” Elizabeth greeted. “Hi there.” Spike replied “I was just wondering if Rebecca was in.” “Oh, she went out a few minutes ago,” Elizabeth said “I'm sure she's not far off.” “OK, thanks.” Spike said and walked away. Spike walked through the usual busy and bustling Ponyville. He looked around to see if he could find Rebecca. But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't see a trace of her. “Where could she be?” Spike said to himself in confusion. As he walked through Ponyville, he heard a voice shout his name. He turned and saw Rebecca behind him. “Oh, there you are!” Spike panted rushing to Rebecca. “I was just looking for you!” Rebecca  said. Rebecca and Spike looked at each other in silence. “So...” Spike started “What you wanna do today?” “Oh, I don't know.” Rebecca answered “Maybe a short stroll down town may do me good.” “OK then.” Spike said and started walking down the street, with Rebecca slowly following behind. As they walked, Spike spotted Dennis strolling along the path. “Hi, Dennis.” Spike said waving. “Back to you, chap.” Dennis replied. Dennis looked at Rebecca, then they both stopped on the spot. They both turned and looked at each other, as if they had seen each other before. “Albert?” Rebecca said. “Rebecca?” Dennis replied. Spike stopped and turned around to see the pair staring at each other. “Huh? What's going on?” Spike asked. “Umm...” Dennis started, but didn't finish. “Can we and him have a quiet discussion?” Rebecca said “I wont be long.” “OK, then.” Spike said and watched the pair disappear down an alleyway. When they were sure that no pony could see them, they started talking. “Albert, what are you doing here?” Rebecca asked puzzled. “Look, I can explain...” Dennis said. “You have nothing to say!” Rebecca said angrily. “What happened years ago was a big mistake.” Dennis explained “And the names Dennis by the way.” “Yeah, the biggest mistake I ever made!” Rebecca said. “Please, Rebecca. Please...please give me another chance...I've changed.” Dennis slowly said. “How can I ever trust you again after what you did!” Rebecca debated. “And why the name change? Did you do something so bad it made you change your name?” “My mother wanted to start completely fresh, even if it meant changing my name.” Dennis said. “Well, even with the new name, you're still the lying, cheating scum bag you are!” Rebecca snarled and walked back out the abbey, but not before she was grabbed by Dennis, who pulled her back. “Please, I'm sorry!” Dennis quietly cried. “I never want to see you again!” Rebecca yelled, tears streaming down her face. She turned and walked out the alleyway, leaving Dennis standing there. “Well, you know what? Go on! Go be with that stupid purple dragon! I never needed you anyway!” Dennis yelled through the tears dripping down his face, followed by a stomp of his hoof in frustration. He turned and walked away. Spike watched Rebecca emerge from the alleyway and walked to Spike, tears streaming down her face. “Rebecca? Are you OK?” Spike said, noticing the crying Rebecca. She stood, looking at him before giving him a hug. Spike was taken by surprise, but he gave in and hugged her back. “What happened, Rebecca?”  Spike softly said. “It's...it's private.” Rebecca struggled out. “If it's anything to do with Dennis, you can tell me.” Spike said. “No, nothing to do with Dennis, Spike.” reassured Rebecca, wiping her tears away. “Well, if you insist.” Spike said and continued down the path, Rebecca slowly following behind him. Spike looked behind him at Rebecca. She was slowly following him, looking at the ground. “Are you sure your OK?” Spike asked. Rebecca stopped and looked at Spike. She had to tell him the truth. “It's Dennis...” She mumbled. “What was that?” asked Spike. “It's Dennis.” Rebecca said. “Did he do anything to you?” Spike questioned. “He didn't touch me, no.” Rebecca said, starting to tear up. “Then what?” Spike asked. “It's...well- it's difficult to explain.” Rebecca slowly said. “What do you mean?” Spike asked starting to get a bit suspicious. Rebecca just stood there swinging her right leg, unable to answer. “Rebecca, I cannot help you if you don't tell me.” Spike said. “It's...”  Rebecca was struggling to get her words out while the tears fell down her face. “Yes?” Spike encouraged. “...Dennis...Dennis is Albert.” Rebecca finally said. Spike opened his mouth slightly in shock. Suddenly the pieces finally came together: Dennis was Rebecca's ex ponyfriend. “Is it the Albert that cheated on you?” Spike asked urgently. Rebecca nodded slightly. “I'll give a Dennis a piece of my mind!” Spike said and began walking to the alleyway. “Spike, no please! You'll only make it worse!” Rebecca yelled “This is between him and me!” But Spike had already turned into the alleyway and was out of sight. Rebecca slowly followed far behind. Albert was slowly walking up the alleyway, his head hanging in shame. As he walked, he began to hear footsteps quietly from behind him. Could it be Rebecca? Rebecca has forgiven me! Dennis thought. He put his head up and turned around. It was a dragon, but not Rebecca. It was Spike, and he was quickly walking towards him. He had a  expression of thunder on his face. “Spike, what are yo-” Spike grabbed Dennis by the shoulders and rammed him up against the wall, interrupting Dennis' speech. “Hey! What are you playing at?!” Dennis protested trying to struggle free from Spike's grasp. Spike took one hand of him and began to punch him in the stomach. Dennis groaned in pain. “Stop! Stop!” Dennis said. “You stay away from Rebecca, you understand?!” Spike shouted. “I didn't do anything to her!” Dennis whimpered. Spike pushed him to the floor and kicked him in the head, causing him to bleed a little. “Consider this a warning, bucktard.” Spike angrily said. He began to walk back up the alleyway, when he heard Dennis speak. “It looks like we both want the same thing, eh?” Dennis squeaked. Spike walked back to Dennis and held him up by the throat. They both stared at each other, anger flaring in their eyes. Dennis then slowly turned his miserable frown into an evil smile. “You don't scare me...” He sneered quietly. Spike threw him to the ground. “Stay away, you hear me?” Spike said pointing at him. Spike turned and continued down the alleyway. Dennis slowly struggled to his hooves and followed behind Spike out of the alleyway. “I bet she doesn't even love you.” Dennis laughed, trying to get a reaction out of Spike. “Just get lost, Dennis.” Spike said without turning an eye to him. “I bet she thinks to herself “Why do I have to hang out with this loser? Maybe if I act like I love him, then everything will be OK! “ So funny! “ Dennis continued “I bet you, right now, she is regretting ever meeting you in the first place!” Spike turned and pushed Dennis to the ground again, who groaned in pain as he impacted the ground. “Don't make me do something I'll regret!” Spike shouted. As Spike was about to continue to the exit, Dennis grabbed his leg. Spike turned and looked at him. “I bet you won't even do what you'll do to me.” He said with the evil smile still on his face. Spike suddenly blew out a huge beam of fire, nearly hitting Dennis. Spike stopped and began to breath hard in exhaustion. To Spike's surprise, Dennis wasn't even intimidated. “Coward...” He quietly growled. That did it. Spike blew out a beam of fire straight into Dennis' face, who began to scream in pain as he was burnt in all places. Rebecca peeked down the alley and spotted the commotion. Immediately she began to run down the alleyway. “SPIKE! STOP!!” Rebecca shouted. Spike immediately stopped to the sound of her voice and turned to see her running down the alley. “He-he wouldn't shut up.” Spike said panicking, with tears beginning to stream down his face. She instantly attended to the injured Dennis, who had nearly been burnt to a crisp. “Why are you hanging out with that psychotic dragon?!” He protested in pain. Rebecca looked a Spike, with a expression of fear and anger on her face. “What were you playing at?!” She screamed. “Reb-b-becca... I-I-I please forgiv-v-ve me!” Spike spluttered. She picked up Dennis and quickly carried him out of the alleyway, without turning an eye to Spike. “Ambulance! I need help!” Rebecca shouted. Immediately a crowd began to form round her, advising her and helping Dennis. Spike peeked out of the alley at the  large crowd. He  felt sick with guilt and anger. “Oh god...what have I done?” He softly said to himself. He then spotted an ambulance pull up next to the crowd. He spotted Dennis on a stretcher and being placed into the ambulance. Rebecca jumped in and sat by his side. He watched as the cart quickly left the scene and out of sight. Spike turned and ran down the other way of the alleyway. He slowly hid himself in a corner and cried his eyes out; which was followed by punching himself in the chest, releasing all the anger that was crushed into him. “WHHHHHHHHHHHYYYY??!!” Spike screamed at the top of his lungs, then continued to cry softly.                                                             * Spike walked back into the library, where Twilight was waiting. She didn't look very happy. Spike tried not acknowledge her as he started up the stairs. “What on earth were you thinking, Spike?!” Twilight yelled “You could of killed him!” “I don't wanna talk about it.” Spike said ignoring her. As he began to walk up the stairs, Twilight grabbed his arm, stopping him. “Well I want to!” Twilight sternly said and stamped her hoof for emphasis. “I said I don't want to!” Spike shouted, pushing Twilight's arm away. He began to walk up the stairs again. “Spike-” Twilight started. “JUST BUCK OFF AND LEAVE ME ALON E!” Spike shouted, throwing some books onto the floor. Twilight gasped at his reaction. Spike began crying and rushed upstairs. All Twilight did was stare up the stairs where Spike had run up to. “Oh my Celestia...” Twilight said to herself.                                                                    * The next day, Spike walked up to Rebecca's house and knocked the door. She answered. “Spike?” Rebecca said. “Look, about yesterday...” Spike started. “Why did you do what you did?” Rebecca said calmly. “He was pushing me. I didn't know what I was thinking!” Spike cried. Rebecca exited the house and closed the door. She walked up to Spike. “I didn't know you were like this...” She said. “Please, forgive me! It won't happen again!” Spike said desperately. “But what if you do the same to me?” Rebecca said concerned “I never asked for a violent dragonfriend.” Spike eyes opened wide in surprise. “Wu-Why would you think that?!” Spike laughed “I would never do something like that to you!” “But the thing is...is that I can't take the risk, Spike.” Rebecca silently said. Spike suddenly realised what was happening. Rebecca wanted to break up. “Please!
