The Dreams That Made Me Blind And Mute
Chapter 1-The Letter
Load Full StoryA cyan pony lay on her cloud home, her stomach stretched out toward the sun. Her rainbow mane churned in the wind and her magenta eyes flickered as the light flooded in through every direction.
She yawned and sat up, when a gray and yellow mailmare trotted to her mailbox and shoved some mail in. As the derp-eyed pegasus turned to leave, the blue pony was up in her face, her wings spread out in delight, "Derpy!"she cried in joy, "Is the Wonderbolt letter here!?"
Derpy blinked as her mind processed the work. "Oh yes Rainbow Dash!"she said, smiling as she trotted to a blue box.
Rainbow Dash thrust her hoof into the air, "YES!"she ran to the mail and pulled out a beautiful white envelope with the lingering smell of freedom, not to mention a wax stamp in the form of the Wonderbolt's emblem with Spitfire, Soarin', and Fleetfoot's feather stuck on.
Rainbow ripped open the envelope, and read it throughly. She reread it, a concerned look upon her face. As she reached the end, her eyebrows came together and tears started to trim her eyes.
There, in Spitfire's exact writing, the following words were written:
"Dear Rainbow Dash,
I admire you bravery, loyalty, and dexterity. Though there is some issues. Okay, Rainbow Dash. Let me get this straight: You are not becoming a Wonderbolt. Though you have proven to have plenty of raw potential, it is crucial that we DO NOT let you join. You are an Element Of Harmony, thus putting us in the risk of being hunted down by a foul, wicked creature. We try not to think any further, but you Sonic Rainboom can prove deadly. We took samples of it and tested it's power on our items and some Wonderbolts. The results were negative. It is untamed and can prove deadly--it had killed Rapidfire.
I hope you understand, Spitfire."
Rainbow's eyes suddenly narrowed in anger, and she flexed her wings, before she was suddenly thrust into the sky. Tears streamed down her face, and her hoof was thrown through many clouds, breaking them on impact. She neared the Wonderbolt's Academy and she burst through the main door, zipped through the hall and broke Spitfire's door open.
Spitfire was sitting on a chair, a stern expression on her face, hooves crossed. "Rainbow Dash. You must have recieved my letter."
Rainbow Dash let out a huff, "WELL I DID!"
Spitfire sighed, "I knew this would happen...so...."she brought her hoof down and two shady pegasi were towering over the cyan pegasi, they reached out and grasped her wings, while the other thrust her head to the floor, and tied ropes around her.
The orange Wonderbolt leader sighed, "Sorry it had to come to this, Rainbow Dash."
The two security guards hoisted Rainbow Dash up on their shoulder, and she wriggled and thrashed in hopes to escape, but the two stallions carried her away, and tossed her to the hard cement outside.
Rainbow felt a cracking pain pierce through her head as her skull met the sidewalk and she curled up in pain. The two security guards exchanged worried glances and untied the cyan pegasi. As they untied the last knot, they stood up and left.
The pegasi's rainbow mane was spread out in all directions as her vision dimmed and was welcomed by a dim light.
A tall, navy blue pony stood before her, her mane churning majestically around her. Her perfection and beauty could be seen and felt. Her blue eyes fell on Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow Dash,"she called out, "It is not your time to die yet."
Rainbow's eyes suddenly opened, and her head throbbed as she was surrounded by her friends, looking concerned. She shrugged her shoulders and a pain pierced her arm as Nurse Redheart stuck in a needle. The cyan pegasus fell back to her pillow. She looked around for the pony in her last dream, but instead was confronted by Spitfire, who grinded her hoof into Rainbow's side. "Your too dangerous for my troops..."
Rainbow's vision became fuzzy once more and she blinked, the orange pegasi was replaced, and it suddenly started bouncing between Wonderbolts.
She sighed. This was the end. Wasn't it? She had a good life. A orange filly approached her, and Rainbow wrapped her arm around her, "Hey squirt."
"Hi Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo smiled.
Rainbow blinked, and returned the smile, despite the pain and the numbness coming in from all directions. Her eyes flickered for mere seconds, and she closed her eyes, wishing to be lulled into an eternal sleep.
"Rainbow Dash!"
