One year after the Great Northern War against the Herds of Chaos. In the aftermath of the war, the Chaos warbands scattered, some returning to their homelands in the Frozen North, some staying, raiding the farms and villages in the east and north fringes of the Crystal Empire. The Crystal Empire, already pushed to the brink of collapse as a result of the war, struggles to protect the isolated farms and villages. If the tribes of Chaos were once again reunite, the Crystal Empire will fall. And then, Equestria.
