Chapter 1 - Cloud Fluff and the party
Opal Shimmer paced the street. Princess Celestia's and Luna's birthday was in two days! She didn't know what to even bring as a gift! What does one bring to a princesses party anyway? She made a mental note to ask her mentor, Twilight Sparkle , later.  The pale green unicorn trotted over to the bench and sat down next to a tan mare. There Opal read her book about magic that her mentor had given her.
"Magic comes in many forms from unicorn magic to the magic of the earth itself. Starswirl The Bearded was an exceptional wizard who ..." Opal looked up. A light blue pegasaus stood before her. " Helooooooo! Anypony home?" Opal glared up at the blue mare. " What do you want? Who are you anyway? "  The mare gasped. " Oopsy daisy! Sorry. My name is Cloud Fluff! " Opal shook hooves with Cloud. " Opal Shimmer. Nice to meet you. "  " Hi hi hi!! Okeeeeeyy! Heheh so, I was just inviting you to a party ! This Friday! Wanna come? "

Opal had no idea how she let herself get talked into going to this party. She normally disliked social gatherings, she preferred  staying at home in a comfy chair, reading a book. Parties seemed crowded and loud to her. They were even a bit frightening.  She went into in the corner of the room. " Heey, silly! Come partyyyyy! " Opal was whizzed into the air and fell into the crowd.  The music was throbbing. Everypony was staring at her! Opal also had a serious case of stage fright. All those ponies, closing in on her was pure terror. Suddenly, a orange earth pony came up to her. " Need a hoof?"
