The accident
Rainbow Dash sat on a cliff overlooking Ponyville. Her mane blowing in the wind, the clouds just the right height off the ground, She has been waiting for this moment for weeks.
“Alright, Rainbow Dash. You've got this, just breathe in and out…" she said to herself.
She glances down below looking at her friends watching.
She looked up to the thick cloud cover that lay above her,
"Let's do this."
She took off quickly, flying higher and higher through the thick cloud cover that the pegasi placed there just days ago for a huge rainstorm.
Her plan? To clear the whole sky, a job that would normally take dozens of pegasi a few hours to do, alone and in the most spectacular way possible. A sonic rain boom.
She broke through the cloud cover, flying still higher before going into a hover.
She could see the thin rays of light from the sun, rising over the clouds.
The spectacle, one shes seen countless times, still took her breath away.
She stared for a few seconds before refocusing herself, remembering the task at hoof. Surely the Wonderbolts would take notice after this.
She thought to herself.
I can’t wait to see the looks on my friend's, Scootaloo's, and even the Wonderbolt’s faces.
She smiled widely, “This is it Dash, the moment you've been waiting for, the moment your friends have been waiting for. You can do this, you’ve done it dozens of times." She said allowed to herself.
I readied herself, taking a deep breath in and then letting it out. Her mind was now completely focused on the task ahead.
She dove fast, doing a barrel roll as she started her descent. She headed straight down going faster, faster, and faster still.
She flapped her wings as hard as she could, pushing herself to flap faster.
A cone of air formed in front of her, her front hooves stretched out, she knew the sonic rainboom would soon follow.
"COME ON DASH... Push... Harder." She said to encourage herself.
She gave it everything she had, starting to strain herself when suddenly, BOOM!!! she had done it!
The clouds were cleared away by a beautiful spectrum of light spreading out in every direction.
She heard Pinkie Pie scream, "IT WORKED IT REALLY WORKED. GO RAINBOW DASH!"
But something wasn't right, something was wrong.
Her wings were strained and hurt, Her head pounding, everything started to swirl as she felt herself plummet to the ground at an extremely fast rate.
The last thing she saw was the ground fast approaching.
....Darkness.
There was nothing but darkness. Suddenly Rainbow dash was laying on a cloud, a storm cloud bank stretching out as far as the eye can see.
She heard something, something faint, off in the distance. She got up, seeing the sun rising, the beautiful rays of light shining through the clouds, separating into individual rays.
Again she heard something, but yet again, it was still too faint to make out.
She just stood still, staring at the beautiful rays of light.
Slowly and hesitantly she put one hoof forward, followed by another. She heard the noise again and it was starting to get clearer.
She continued walking, slowly but surely, on the cloud bank. With every step she took my body felt lighter.
She heard the noise again this time it was clearer than ever.
She could tell now it was the voice of a pony.
She kept walking, the rays of light, the beautiful sun; they felt so close yet so far away. She heard the pony's voice again.
"Clear.”
Suddenly the world around me rushed away, replaced by a new one. She could hear ponies rushing around.
"We have a pulse, " A pony said. A beeping sound heard in the background.
"Oh thank Celestia, " A different pony said.
"Rainbow Dash... Can you hear me?” This voice sounded familiar; She opened her eyes slowly and saw a purple blur, the blur spoke again.
"Oh Rainbow Dash thank Celestia you’re awake."
Rainbow dash's vision slowly started to clear up.
"Twi? Twilight? Is…is that you?" Dash spoke, her voice was raspy and painful.
Her friend’s face became clearer and she could see tears.
Twilight was crying. But why? Is she ok? Did something happen?
Then the memories came rushing back to her, the sonic rain boom, the clouds, the sky, falling, all of it. She had so many questions, but her body demanded rest and before She knew it she drifted into a deep sleep.

"She's waking up.”
Rainbow dash opened her eyes once again to blurry figures, as her focus started to clear up she could see her friends.
What? What’s going on? What happened?
Once again my memories came flooding back, yet she still didn't know what she did wrong.I had pulled the stunt off perfect, hadn't I?
Finally she spoke.
"Wh-what happened?"
Her friends look at each other nervously.
Then the doctor came in.
"Hey look who's awake. It's good to see you awake and doing as good as you are, especially after what happened.”
She interrupted him.
"What did happen?"
Twilight answered for him, “The sonic rainboom you did knocked you out…badly...I…uh..." She started crying.
The doctor spoke up in her place.
"Maybe I should explain, ” The doctor said.
Twilight nods and the others try to comfort her with a hug.
"Rainbow Dash, I understand you like to push yourself right?"
She nods.
"Well, I've spoken with your friends here, and it seems with all the…um…sonic rainbooms you've performed, well, they've left a toll on your body. And well, you may not have been aware of this, but your wings have fractured numerous times during all these tricks. Some of those have healed more than others.
It also appears the same has happened to most of the muscles in your body, where they have ripped and torn. Now these things never completely heal and well, it seems the recent stunt you performed gave the final blow to these muscles.
You've cause permanent damage this time. You had internal hemorrhaging. You died on the way to the hospital and you've been in and out of consciousness for a few weeks. Rainbow Dash, you will never fly the same way you used to, if at all."
With that line his voice faded away to background noise.
This can't be happening to me! This is just a terrible nightmare. Wake up, wake up, wake up.
Dash burst out yelling, scaring the doctor and her friends.
"No no, no, no, nooooooo!"
She was sobbing now, and then She started yelling again.
"This can't be real. This is just a terrible nightmare."
Her friends apparently felt the same, because before long they were tearing up right along with Dash.
Twilight came up and hugged her friend, burying her tear-soaked face into Dashes chest, she was careful not to hurt her.
"I'm so sorry Rainbow Dash," She comforts.
Dash continued to sob.
I have to get out of here! This isn't happening. I have to escape.
She was no longer in control of her body as she grabbed the IV and rip it out of her hoof.
She started to try and get up but Twilight stopped her.
"DASH!"
She uses her magic to stop Dash.
"Doctor do something!"
He was way ahead of her, already pulling a liquid drug out of a vial and into a needle. He injects Dash and soon every muscle in her body relaxes and she could no longer control them.
"Rainbow Dash you have to move as little as possible while you recover. If you don't, you risk rupturing a vain or artery again, and causing even more damage.We can't risk that so I've induced a paralysis, I'm sorry."
The doctor reinserted the IV into Dash's hoof before leaving the room.
Twilight came over and hugs Dash again.
"I'm so sorry Rainbow Dash. It will get better, I promise. We'll help you through this." As she hugged Dash, her body brushed up against Dashes flank causing a crinkle sound.
"What was that?" Dash ask her.
She looked nervously at dash thinking about what to say and figured it would be easier to just spit it out.
"Your diaper." Twilight said simply
"My what?” She asked, not believing she heard Twilight correctly.
"Your diaper." She repeats simply.
"Why am I wearing a diaper? Take it off." Dash ordered.
"Dash, didn't you hear the doctor? The muscles in your bowels and bladder are badly damaged. You’re incontinent. I'm sorry Rainbow Dash you'll be wearing these for the rest of your life.I'm so sorry."
"WHAT!" she started to sob again. "My life is over."
"It will get better Dash I promise. We'll be there for you always."

Recovery
Its been a little over a month since Rainbow Dash found out about what happened to Her. She had long since accepted the fact that she is not dreaming. She knew my life had changed forever, and definitely not for the better. The only problem is how for her to accept it, or even deal with it?
"Rainbow Dash...Oh Rainbow Dash...Come on sleepy head time to wake up." A voice rang in her ears.
"Ehhhh I don’t wanna." Dash complained and rolled over in bed .
"Come on Dashie...let’s get you changed."
Rainbow Dash felt somepony undo the tabs on her diaper, lift her up, clean her up, and place a new one under me. The pony then proceeded to powder me and rub rash cream on me, before taping up my new diaper.
I whined, as I still haven't gotten used to somepony changing me.
"Ok I’m up.”
I opened my eyes and saw the nurse pony that had changed me.
"Aww see was that so hard? Now let’s eat and get ready for your physical therapy."
She smiled and gave me my breakfast plate.
I lifted the cover to find pancakes. I let out a little smile and started eating.
About halfway through my meal Twilight walked in the door of my hospital room.
"Hey Rainbow Dash, how are you today?" She asked.
"Hey Twilight, I’m doing well. What are you doing here?" I said after swallowing a bite.
"Well I worked extra hard yesterday so I could come and be here all day to support and help you." She said with a happy smile and squeal.
"Thanks Twilight. It really means a lot to me."
"Anything for my friend Rainbow Dash, now finish your pancakes because we have a lot of work to do." Once again she smiled happily. I ate my pancakes and soon the nurse came back in.
"I see you’re done. Shall we begin?"
I nodded and sighed, "Yes."
"Aw somepony doesn't sound to thrilled. Remember you'll never fly again if you don't exercise those wings." The nurse reminded me.
I sigh again. “I know."
Twilight bumped in.
"Come on Dashie, cheer up...I want to, no, I will see you flying high in the sky again some day. But only if you exercise those wings."
I smile at Twilight and hug her. “You know you’re a great friend."
She smiles big. “I know."
The nurse walks over to me rolling in a wheelchair.
"I’m going to need your help. On 3, 1...2...3."
With Twilight’s help she pulled me out of the bed and into the chair.
Twilight smiled eagerly, “Can I push her?"
The nurse nodded and smiled, “You must really like your friend here huh?"
Twilight smiled big, “I love Rainbow Dash." blushed slightly.
“She’s been there for me, now its time for me to be there for her"
I smile and blush slightly.
The nurse leads Twilight into the therapy center.
"Ok miss Rainbow Dash...time to stand up and walk."
Twilight reached out her hooves for me to take.
“If you don’t mind can I help her with everything today please?" Twilight asked the nurse.
The nurse smiled in response. “You are the princess of Ponyville. I’m sure you’re gentle enough to help Rainbow Dash here."
She gestured to me smiling.
I grabbed Twilight’s hoof and she pulled me out of the wheelchair and onto my hooves.
"Thanks Twilight." I smiled widely.
“Come on let’s walk.” Twilight said and I walk with her around the track inside the therapy center.
"So Twilight. How are you?" I asked.
"Oh I’m doing great but I still wish everyday that you’re better...I...I...kind of miss you." She blushed lightly.
I smiled and blushed lightly as well. “I miss you too Twilight, I miss a lot of things." I look down with a tear in my eye.
"Aww come here Dash." Twilight brought me in for a hug.
I hugged tightly back.
We finish walking around the track and Twilight checks my diaper to see a few little soaked spots, but not enough to change.
I could feel blood rush to my cheeks when she checked.
I smiled slightly at her.
She too, after seeing my cheeks all red, started to blush also.
She smiles. "You’re all clean Rainbow Dash."
We continued to a padded table-like structure.
The nurse kindly helped me onto the platform. “Now... let’s see those beautiful wings of yours."
"They’re not beautiful anymore.” I said with a sigh.
Twilight put a hoof on my back and softly rubbed.
"Oh Rainbow Dash, don’t talk like that, your wings are still very beautiful." She smiled.
I start to blush again. “You’re not just telling me that are you?"
"Oh, of course not." She said and I smiled.
"Now spread out your wings so I can stretch them...if that’s ok with you nurse."
Twilight said and the nurse smiled, nodding.
Twilight slowly pulled my wings out and moved them. I let out an occasional "ow" or whimper.

After therapy they took me back to my room. It was the daily routine for me.
I got settled in and Twilight changed my diaper. Which was kind of embarrassing, but at the same time I kind of liked it. Dinner came and Twilight fed me, even though I was easily capable of doing that myself. I eventually fell asleep.
