Equestria has its two sovereigns but tell me what can one do when they live forever? Tell me sister, do you have a desire for death as I do?
“Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle has arrived – do you wish for her to enter right now, or do you wish for her to wait?” The guard spoke, his pearl bodice standing regally – it gave him the impression of power that he was the favoured guard of the princess. His expression was blank, a smile did not hold on his kissers. His bright olive eyes stood looking at me with a demanded answer but a patient demand – wish was what I expected in my presence; not that I gave a damn anymore. Immortality isn’t all what it is told to be. As much as I adored my land of Equestria, I couldn’t help but long for the end of my journey, the final destination that is death.
“Yes, I wish for her to enter straight away. I cannot possibly keep my star pupil waiting, can I?” My cheerful voice sings, (not literally of course.) the lyrics rode through the vibration of the air into the audettes of any passing being. A chuckle rose in my throat and as I released it, the stallion walks away. Humph, my dainty appendages moved towards my royal throne. The crimson carpet rode up the steps and came to a halt when the chair came into view. The throne itself was large but had an out-lining of a smaller one which made it seem there was a large wall behind. Patterns filled it, with stars as the main source. Beside it, bunches of elegant floras rose proudly. Yes – it was made for a princess and it suited a princess. The guards shield me and Luna as if we are the most important ponies in the world. Well, for one, I hate being spoilt…
A lavender pony trotted happily towards the awaiting me. “Hello, Princess, what is it that you want with me. I hope I wasn’t tardy. Uh, late.” Her words seemed to enter my lobes and travel down into my heart. How could she be late? I had forever, after all. Twilight doesn’t realise how darn lucky she is, nobody wants me… As I attempted to keep a steady expression, my smile suddenly broke, and she is quick to this. Oh great – Twilight Sparkle questions. “Princess, is something wrong? I’d hate for you to be upset.”
“I am perfectly fine, Twilight and no, you are not late. You’re perfectly on time and for once, this is just a idles time to chat with my star student. I hope you have no objection; it gets lonely without Looney Luna sometimes. But I know I can guarantee on you or your friends to keep me occupied.” I replied, a smile painted onto my mandible. Before the lilac mare could answer, my horn glowed in a radiant beam, a squeak of a draw sounds and a bottle revealed. “Care for a sip, don’t worry, I have glasses.”
Twilight didn’t answer, she just stared at me in her odd-foal-like way. Oh, that’s just great; she no longer has any respect in me. “Uh, Princess?” Her delicate voice trembles. “I don’t drink, I’m too young.” She reminded me.
“Ah, yes… I was joking, of course… Twilight, I must be truthful to you. I want you to do something for and with me. Something that is very important to me, but whatever you do you cannot not tell a single soul.” As I finish this, her physique fidgeted, pleading me to tell me. To tell her everything, but it’s going to hurt her – it hurts me to even to think about telling her this. But I know I must, she is the only one I can trust. “You must come with me, for an adventure.”
“Well, that doesn’t sound bad, Princess.”
“Let me finish. On this journey I want to find a way to end my immortality. If there is a way… You will go home, tell Spike I have invited you somewhere. If he asks where, you say it’s a surprise. You’re clever enough to know what we’ll need whilst keeping light. Please, Twilight Sparkle. I am depending on you.”
“…But Princess, you can’t.”
“Look, Twilight, you know you’re like a daughter to me but you’ve got to help me. I... I want to experience death. Luna will become queen and so will you…”
“Eh?”
“Yes – I want you to take my place in royalty. Luna will be there to guide you, please, I beg you, and I can’t do this alone…”
“But Princess! You’re so good at everything; I’ll never become as great at you. I - I don’t want you to leave me.” The violet lady croaked.
I can’t bare it, her plum orbs are bleeding clear tears of pain and she is shaking uncontrollably. “Twilight, I’ve lived thousands of years, I want to meet my parents again, my other friends. I can’t – I can’t live like this anymore. The legend that when the time comes we fade is a legend! They just… Well I don’t know but I know that it’s a legend. Please – you’ve got to believe me.” My voice was husky and my breath is rasped. But I was depending on her and there was nothing I could do to force her. “Please, Twilight. Just trust me.”
“I will never leave you.”
And those words - those 5 words are the absolute truth. I wouldn't leave Twilight because I loved her. Not in a sick messed up way but a motherly way, the gods would be my witness of those lyrics. And even if she disagrees, even if she turns away. I would go - and even if this considered suicide, even if I would get the title, 'Suicidal Princess,' nothing would stop this delicate but strong-willed lass. I was running to death, life, even though it is a splendid journey, death is something everyone must experience. Immortal or not...
