The DJ and the Cellist
Chapter 1:
The Beginning
It was a warm, sunny day, early in the month of June. With the school year almost over, we join 11 year old Vinyl Scratch in her 5th grade classroom in Manehattan...
" Okay class! As you know, their is only a week left of school and this is the last day of school you're completing work. Starting on Monday, that remainder of the year we will doing fun things, watching movies, playing games, etc. But before we do so, you must do one final test." Said the teacher.
The entire class of ten and eleven year old colts and fillies groaned in anger.
" Oh don't be so upset, class. I'll give you ten minutes to study beforehand. Starting.... Now!" Said the teacher.
All of the young foals rushed to get their books to study while Vinyl just sat at her desk and yawned.
" Vinyl Scratch? Aren't you going to study?" Asked her teacher.
" (Yawn.) Don't worry. I got this test in the bag, teach." Replied Vinyl in a bored tone.
" Well, I really think you should study. The whole year you've been getting C's, D's, and B minuses on your tests. You've barely passed this grade, you're lucky you actually did pass!" Said the teacher.
" Yeah yeah. Whatever, teach. Now let me take my freakin' test and get outta this school." Replied Vinyl.
" Ms. Scratch! I will NOT take that kind of disrespect from you, young mare! I know that your parents will not be happy to see in the Principal's Office again!" Said the teacher.
" Okay okay! Chill out, teach! I'll study for the stinkin' test!" Replied Vinyl.
" Good, you have 3 minutes left." Said her teacher.
Vinyls' eyes widened in shock.
" Say what now?" Said Vinyl.
" You heard me, Vinyl. 3 minutes. If I were you, young mare. I would hurry up and grab me books." Said her teacher.
30 Minutes Later
" Okay, class. I have finished grading your tests. I will had them out to you." The teacher annouced.
The fillies and colts lined up in front of their teacher as they recieved their tests, then, came Vinyl's test...
" Well, Vinyl Scratch, I'm impressed. This is the highest percentage you've recieved this year, 89%. I'm impressed." Said the teacher.
" See? I told you I had it in the bag, teach!" Replied Vinyl happily.
Vinyl Scratch walked away proudly as see admired her test.
" It's amazing what 3 minutes of studying can do to a filly." Thought Vinyl...
... Meanwhile...
We now go to a small little building in Canterlot. Where we join Eleven year old, Octavia Melody, and young Cellist in building that was owned by a mare that helps foals play instruments.
" Okay, Octavia. Good job today. You may return home." Said the instructor.
" Thank you, Mrs. Tulip." Replied Octavia kindly.
Octavia Melody trotted out of the building with her cello in hoof as she returned to her large home in a town in Canterlot. As she approached her home, she is greeted by her mother.
" Hello, Octavia. It's nice to see you back home, sweetie." Said her mother.
" Hello, mother. Um... Where's Father?" Asked Octavia.
" He is out with friends." Replied her mother.
Octavia entered her house and trotted up the beautiful staircase that was covered in red carpet. She entered her bedroom, quietly shut her door, and practiced playing her cello which had a beautiful tune...
See? Vinyl Scratch and Octavia are two different ponies with two totally different personalities. The average person would not see these two become friends... But what if I told you that these two would embrace in a wonderful friendship and that their lifes would cross paths...
