The Pony Tones had just finished their gig at Manehatten Theater, their last show before they all part ways to live out their lives in Ponyville as they take their final bow before an immense crowd numbered in the hundreds.
"oh..uh..thank you all everypony" said Fluttershy with the spotlight shining on her as she takes her bow.
On the way back home on the train. All of her best friends, including her daughter Tony Tony Sakura we chatting about the event.
"You were amazing mommy~!" the little filly exclaimed.
"Is that really your last show Flutters?" Pinkie asked.
"Well, yes, we've done all our part and raised a lot of money for charities and parties" Rarity explained. "all with the help of Fluttershy of course."
"Eeyup!" Big Macintosh explained.
Fluttershy merely blushed and sighed as it was an exhausting performance.
"yes, thank you Rarity. But it would be nice to return to home" Fluttershy said. But she quickly went to her thoughts 'maybe even join another group much more louder this the Pony Tones'
Though she clearly got over her stage fright in recent months, she secretly wanted to join those hard-rock groups that are making hits all over Equestria. She has many albums in her home which includes Foreigner, The Beatles, Queen, Santana, Twisted Sisters even Pink Floyd. She was a die-hard rock fan right down to her hair. With the help of Discord and Sakura, she would secretly disguise herself and sneak out of Ponyville to see any rock concerts close by at night and if she was bold enough in the middle of the day.
"yoo hoo earth to Fluttershy! You there girl?" yelled Rainbow Dash snapping Fluttershy out of her thoughts.
"huh what?" Fluttershy said.
"We're home you know." Twilight said.
They all boarded off the train, and just when they were about to split to to their respective homes something caught Pinkie's eyes.
"ooh look girls!" She pointed at a poster in what seems to be a want ad. Fluttershy silently gasped to see it composed of 4 symbols with only one legible symbol spelled 'Zoso'
"it can't be" Fluttershy said to herself.
Rainbow Dash started reading the poster "Front-mare wanted for L.Z. tribute band, think you got what it takes? Tryouts at Ponyville town center tomorrow at noon.....what the heck is L.Z.?"
"Ah don't know, but it must stand for something" Applejack said.
"These runes are mysterious, I can't help but think I've seen them before? What about you Fluttershy?" Twilight asked.
"eep!" as she quickly hid her face beneath her face "oh..i...uh...no I haven't sorry"
Sakura could easily see that her mother was lying, but she kept her mouth shut knowing how much rock and roll means to her mother. But Applejack couldn't help raise an eyebrow in suspicion at Fluttershy as she sees her eyes darting back and forth.
"Well whatever it is, I think I have had enough singing tonight, don't you Big Mac?" asked Rarity.
He yawns covering his mouth "eeyup"
"Welp goodnight then!" Twilight said stetching from the long train ride "Hopefully Chrysalis and Crystal didn't destroy my new castle this time"
"Goodnight then!" as Rainbow Dash flies off to her home as the rest of her friends also goes to their respective homes. Everyone except Fluttershy who immediately took the poster once all her fiends had gone home and flies off to her cottage. However, Applejack stayed but hidden from Fluttershy's view.
"Just what are you hiddin' Fluttershy?" Applejack whispered to herself as she secretly followed the yellow pegasus
By the time Fluttershy got back to her cottage, she was as giddy as a filly earning her cutie mark.
"ommygoshommygoshommygoshommygoshommygoshommygosh!!! A Led Zeppelin tribute band!!! Coming here!! To Ponyville!!" as Fluttershy excitedly flew around her cottage.
"I wonder what songs they're going to check for!? What about albums, live recordings? *gasp* what if they want to do 'The Song Remains the Same' Performance!? EEEEE!!"
"Are you really going to join them mommy? I know how much you like your music" Sakura said pointing to her mother's massive music collection of rock albums that was in one of her cupboards hidden from anypony.
She then just realized something...the tryouts are at noon, at the middle of the day...at the town center. Finally calming down, she settled on her couch contemplating what to do.
"If my friends see me, it'll be too embarrassing...they'll probably won't be my friends anymore by my singing...if only..*gasps and face-hoofs* duh!!" she immediate sends a letter to her friend through a particular lamp that had a secret compartment, one who's excellent at making disguises alongside her daughter.
"I hope he makes it on time" Fluttershy asked herself.
"and I'm already here my dear~!" as the dragonequues Discord magically appeared.
"Uncle Discord~!" Sakura exclaimed flying to her 'official' uncle giving him a big hug.
"Preparing to sneak out for yet another concert?"
"Actually..it's for tomorrow" she said as she gives Discord the poster of the help wanted poster.
"ah..Led Zeppelin, good band, really good band. They played once in Canterlot, their music was nothing I've ever heard of! That Robert Plant..I swear he has a voice of a banshee!"
Fluttershy's face lit up like a sonic rainboom "You've seen him!? What was he like? Was he as rowdy and loud as ponies say he was!?" But she was interrupted when Discord merely placed his finger on her nose.
"I was still encased in stone need I remind you, but anyway yes I did hear them perform. I never thought somepony could actually play guitar with a bow quite chaotic about it. But back to the matter at hand...you said you needed a disguise. So Sakura and I would be more than happy to help."
"yay! You guys are the best family ever~! I hope Chopper was here to see this." Fluttershy exclaimed as she gives her family a big hug. But outside of her cottage...Applejack had just heard everything and her mouth is covered by her hoof in disbelief.
"oh my stars.....Fluttershy....." she quickly heads home keeping what she discovered to herself.
The next day, the sound of hard rock music fills the air of Ponyville as a rock band composed of 2 stallions and 1 mare are going through the auditions.
"next please" said the earth pony lead guitarist Muse Rock (stallion) as he dismisses a mare with
"Muse we've been through over 10 ponies already, can we please chose one already?" asked the bass player unicorn Kashmir Sounder (mare).
"No, it has to be perfect, we're trying to capture the essence of one of the greatest bands that has ever existed!" Muse explained.
"That girl with the rainbow hair sounded close to Roberts vocalizations." said the drummer Pound Beat who's also an Earth pony(stallion).
"she was...but I can tell she's focused on other things, and she can't get the right pitch in Whole Lotta Love & Dazed and Confused. Heck she didn't even try to get the soft sound of Tangerine!" Muse argued.
"Maybe we should try another town...." Kashmir said.
But before they could even get up to pack their stuff, they hear a voice.
"Um...hello, are you still holding tryouts for Led Zeppelin?"
The trio turn their heads to see a pony, no doubt a pegasus, dressed in leather jeans, wearing many necklaces and wearing a large-brimmed hat and shades hiding her face. Standing behind her in shyness and hiding in reverse position is a younger pegasi filly, with a brown coat, blue nose and pink mane making her almost look like a cherry tree in bloom.
"Yeah...." Muse said.
Slowly the two pegasi slowly make their way to the stage.
"Nopony will see us right?" asked the disguised mare.
"Closed doors and nopony but us watches." Kashmir replied.
The disguised pony breaths a sigh of relief as she soon takes off her disguise revealing her pretty self causing the two stallions to blush while the mare merely rolls her eyes. But at the same time. a certain cyan pagasi was watching from the windows to see who's going to be this bands front-mare yet gasping when she sees Fluttershy.
"All right miss...?" Muse asked.
"Fluttershy." Fluttershy replied.
"All right miss Fluttershy, we're going to play a couple songs. Some will be high pitched and some will be slow while others require intense fluctuation in pitch. Are you ready?" Kashmir said.
Fluttershy makes a face of determination. "I am"
The little filly quickly runs to in front of the band mouthing 'you can do it mommy' in which Fluttershy smiled in return. Kashmir soon gives Fluttershy a harmonica.
"You're going to need this for this song" she said. But inside Fluttershy's mind, she immediately knew what song they were doing and she said under her mouth "'When the Levee Breaks' from Led Zeppelin IV."
Muse picks up his guitar and nods to Pound giving him the signal to start the beat. Once he started, Fluttershy blew the harmonica with precision as Muse plays the riff, catching the trio with surprise and then they reached the first verse in which she started to sing.
When they reached the chorus, they jumped when the yellow pegasus sang with ferocity nearly matching Plant's banshee-like scream. As she continues to song, she was able to match word for word, pitch to pitch and sound to sound.
The song ends and quickly the trio congregates...
"She's good, she has that banshee scream nailed down and the harmonics down perfectly." Pound said.
"We'll see...let's she how she fairs with both of us singing." Muse smirked.
Kashmir gasped "But every time we do that song, the auditioner always throws out his/her voice!"
"This my personal test to see if she makes the cut then we'll do a soft song as her final test" Muse said.
The trio goes back to their instruments as Fluttershy merely watches them.
"All right Miss Fluttershy, let's see how you fare at a much louder and raunchier song" Muse asked.
Fluttershy merely gulps in hopes of passing this test and almost immediately they begin to play the openning chords. She had a split second to register the song in which she mumbles 'Out on the Tiles...Led Zeppelin III'
The song ends as Fluttershy catches her breath as she knows that she sang a pretty hard song.
"Not bad Fluttershy, not bad now for one last song." Muse said as he picked up his double necked guitar and Kasmir moved from her bass to many keyboards.
Fluttershy gulped once more, this is shot to join a really big band. She just needs to ace this last song.
Muse then strummed the 12-string side in softness and emotion, Fluttershy gasped...it was one of her favorite songs in Led Zeppelin....The Rain Song.

It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.
Muse does the main riffs as he closes his eyes in which Kashmir starts playing the keyboards with the sounds of violins and bass along with Pound soflty drumming with the sticks
Then the song slowly ends as Muse plays the finishing chords and pick patterns of the song. All were breathing heavily, Muse, Kashmir and Pound all looked each other in their eyes. They've found it, that sound that made the original Led Zeppelin so beloved by millions. But were soon interrupted by the sound of tiny hooves clapping as they turn to the little brown filly.
"Wow that was amazing you guys!! You practically sounded just like the original band!!"
They couldn't help but blush as Fluttershy rushes over to her daughter giving her a big hug.
"Guys...we found it!" Muse said to his band mates.
"That was incredible Fluttershy! I think I speak for all of us when I say that you got the part!" Kashmir exclaimed.
Fluttershy took a deep breath and 'yelled' "yay!"
"Practice begins next week at 1 PM, we're still deciding where to actually practice though." Muse said
"Oh you can use my home! The fields outside have great acoustics!" Fluttershy exclaimed.
The rest of the band smiled warmly and stated together "We'll be there"
But outside....Rainbow Dash's jaw hung lower than those tacky drapes from Rarity's boutique that she dislikes so much.
"OhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygoshOhmygosh!!!" as she flies off to tell the others of what just happened. Eventually she reached the Twilight's library and told her everything.
"Are you serious!?" Twilight exclaimed.
"Yes!! She sang Led Zeppelin Twilight! Led Zeppelin!! I tried out to sing for the band, but I didn't get it. This is taking every fiber in my body for saying this but Fluttershy is way better than me at this than I ever will!"
Twilight gasps at Rainbow, but then she looks out the window and she sees the disguised Fluttershy walking along with her daughter and quickly understands that is word got out that she was singing with a rock band like that, Fluttershy would be ubber-embarrassed.
"Is that supposed to be a disguise?" said Chrysalis as she looked out the window. "What's with that getup? Did the 70's come knocking?"
"Fluttershy's worried that now she's in a rock band we'll think very differently of her" Twilight said.
"Fluttershy's in a rock band now!? Awesome!!" Crystal exclaimed.
Twilight smiled, "Rainbow Dash get the girls! We got a party to plan!"
Rainbow dash saluted "Aye aye Princess!" she flew off.
Later that night, as Fluttershy and Sakura made their way to her home.
"What a day....I'm exhausted..." Fluttershy said.
Unlocking the door, she entered her home to find it completely dark.
"Did we forget to pay the electric bill?" asked Sakura.
"I don't think so...w-what if it's a monster!" Fluttershy shivered as she recoiled.
"What if it's Slender-mane!!!" Sakura hiding closely to her mother but the wrong direction.
"Eep!!" Fluttershy squeaked.
With a single flick of a switch, the duo are suddenly blinded by light followed by a great loud...
"SURPRISE!!!" revealing all her friends, including Chrysalis, her daughter Crystal and Discord, where in a massive party!
"What the..!?" the duo gasped.
"Surprise, welcome to your getting-into-the-led-zeppelin-tribute-band-as-their-official-frontmare surprise party!!" exclaimed Pinkie.
Fluttershy gasped and her face hid behind her pink mane, 'how'd did they find out' she thought to herself and 'why aren't they mad?'
"S-so...you guys don't think any less of me? Aren't going to tell me how dirty rock is, or how I'm not getting with the times or.."
"Whoa whoa whoa, who said anything like that?" Twilight exclaimed.
"I must admit, although I don't appreciate this rock n' roll that much, you're doing what you like and that what matters." Rarity said sipping on some punch.
"Plus you have an awesome singing voice!! I never heard you sing like that at any singing event!!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Just how did you become such a huge rock band?" asked Crystal.
"Well...." she turned to Discord. "Would you help me explain this?"
"Oh course! Song form I presume?" Discord asked as the others tilt their heads in confusion.
"You know me so well, make it Foreigner this time." Fluttershy replied.
With a simple snap of his fingers, the lights suddenly went dark and the spotlight shown descended on Fluttershy with a mic.
Her friends were suddenly blown away by the rock as Fluttershy sang in front of a band that somehow appeared behind her singing the backups.
and just like that the whole band dissipated leaving just Fluttershy breathing heavily at her performance leaving her audience stunned from beyond belief.
"So.....what I understand is....when you were a teen you heard a really cool rock concert that you wanted to go to but couldn't so you taught yourself guitar and became a really huge rock fan?" Pinkie asked.
"Yeah...." Fluttershy replied.
"That....is....so.....AWESOME!!!!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
"And we'll support you in any decision you chose Fluttershy! As long as you keep doing what you love, which is apparently singing and taking care of animals!" said Rarity.
Fluttershy couldn't help but blush at the comment and before she knew it, she was surrounded by her friends in a great big hug.
"I love you guys!" Fluttershy said warmly, for tonight is the start of a really big musical career!
