"P-Please don't....P-Please, Ame....P-Please misstr-"

SNAP

The small equine squeals in anguish, cutting off his pleas for mercy, as a large hoof comes down hard on his flight arm. His right wing jerks reflexively, further compounding the break as he screams and sobs uncontrollably. The grey stallion curls into a ball, trying to shield as much of his body as possible from the angry hooves of the larger pony towering over him.

"P-please M-Mistress...s-stop...I..I learned my lesson, p-pleas...."The smaller pony whines and chokes back a sob as she

"You are a worthless pile of shit, you know that? you do nothing but beg and scrape, and its SOOOOOOOO annoying! Why can't you just behave and do as I say?! Why must you be at my hooves everywhere I go, Hmmm?.....I ASKED YOU A QUESTION BITCH, THAT REQUIRES A FUCKING ANSWER!" Her hoof comes down again clouting the smaller stallion behind the ear, stunning him into silence. He whines quietly he lifts his head to look up at his assailant, a pleading look in his dull grey eyes, one nearly swollen shut.

"A-Amethyst....."

"I TOLD YOU NEVER TO CALL ME BY NAME YOU LITTLE BITCH!"

Her hoof leaps from the ground, straight into the muzzle of the smaller pony again, a wet crunch emanating from the contact. Blood seeps from the grey pony's freshly broken nose, his eyes filling with tears as he chokes back a sob.

"P-please...st-stop...."

The larger mare growls as she lowers herself to her knees, laying beside the smaller pony. Her features soften as she looks into his eyes, crooning almost motherly down to him.

"Oh Daemon...you were fun for a time..." Her hoof comes up to gently wipe a tear from his bruised cheek. "But...Its time to move on.....What will people think if they found out that the world's newest fasionista, with talent to rival that of the great Rarity.....Kept such a worthless tool in her home....much less what the media would do with it....it would ruin my life! you must understand...its in both of our best interests...."

Daemon whines as he registers exactly what she was holding above him, trembling as he tried to move away from the ornate blade. The grey pegasus started to hyperventilate as he crawled back weakly, his head bumping the rough stone wall of the small Canterlot alleyway, his thoughts whirling as he attempted to comprehend his situation.

"I'm going to die here.....She's going to kill me.... The mare I love...loved is-"

The knife darts towards the cornered pony, spearing itself into his neck as he whimpers weakly. The thick black leather collar falls to the ground as the razor-like edge of the knife presses to the throat of the broken pony. Amethyst steps forward, pressing her lips to Daemon's ear, pushing his short styled mane aside and growling softly as she grinds her hoof into the cobblestones under them.

"I Never.....Ever....Loved you... Nor did I care whether or not you were starving when I found you... you amused me...and that is the only reason I even allowed your filthy hooves into my home, insect...now leave....before I do more to your pretty little neck than remove my collar from it....."

Without waiting for a response, the lavender mare pirouetted on her rear hooves, snorting disdainfully as she glares over her shoulder at the mangled body she had left. Amethyst calmly trotted back to the steps of her ornate home, slamming the door behind her and sliding the bolt home with a metallic click.

Dameon looks up at the moon, his dull grey eyes slowly losing focus as a single word slips from his lips as darkness took him:

"Why.....?"

The first thing the small stallion felt was pain. Not the intense throbbing pain that incapacitated you...at first. It started as a dull throbbing over most of his body, starting with his head. Daemon opened his eyes and immediately wished he hadn't as the sun glared down at him angrily through the window.

The small grey pony whined loudly and shut his eyes again, blocking out the incessant light as he tried to doze back off. His sore wing lay stretched out beside him, and under closer inspection as his eyes adjusted to the room, he found the mangled limb immobilized in a cloth splint. A low voice broke through his musings, making him jump as he turned to find a enormous pony towering over him.

"I take it you're awake now?"

Daemon squeaked and pulled his hooves up as if to shield himself from the large charcoal colored figure.

"You're tall....." The small stallion croaked, coughing and gasping in pain as his bruised ribs protest.

The larger pony tilted his head, a bemused glint in his eyes as he kneels, getting down to get a better look at the small pony. He gently lifts the wing, inspecting it as Daemon hissed and whimpered loudly in pain. The stallion grunted and frowned thoughtfully. Two large protrusions on his back glitter as the sunlight hits them, the blue glow coming from the crystalline spires marking the stallion as something otherworldly.

Daemon squeaked as he rolled to his hooves, gingerly holding his broken wing up as he started to hobble towards a nearby door. He hastily starts thinking up an excuse to escape the custody of the alien-yet obviously benign- being, adrenaline coursing through his small frame.

"T-thank you...b-but I really m-must be going...M-My mistress will be angry with me as it is for being out all night...."

"You've been here for six days.....and I doubt she'll be too pleased to see you...." The larger stallion touched his massive hoof to Daemon's neck. the touch startled him, before the realization hit him that his collar was gone. Memories washed over him, driving him to his knees as he chokes back a sob.

Her hoof around his neck, dragging him outside and casting him to the street, before pouncing on him and slamming her shod hooves into his side and face, anything she could reach.....Her malicious smile as her hoof came down on his wing...the knife as it slit the leather, marking him as her property...her final words to him before turning her back on him, leaving him for dead in the alleyway before luna's glowing moon mercifully stole away the rest of his memory of the incident

"I....I....I..."

The small broken pony threw his hooves around the kneeling stallion's neck, hugging him tightly as he buried his head in the crook of his neck, sobbing uncontrollably as he shakes and trembles.

The black pony recoils momentarily from the touch before looking down at the broken pony clinging to him. He swallows and gently lifts a hoof to stroke his back, avoiding his injured wing with his large hooves as he tries to comfort the small equine.

"Shhhhh...it'll be okay...little one... Sleep....I....I will watch over you....."

"P-promise?" Daemon whimpered and looked up at him, stuttering between choked sobs:

A smile tugged at the otherwise stoic stallion as he nodded and pressed his nose to the forehead of the small pony.

"I...I promise..."

Darkness took Daemon once again, and he knew no more
