It's Better for Them

She looked to her left.

No one.

She looked to her right. She dove behind a tree so fast you never would have seen her.

But it was just and carriage. An empty carriage. She smiled weakly, good thing Apple jack wasn't there. Hoooooooooooo boy oh boy, if she was.... Fluttershy shook herself out of it and outstretched her wings, very, very quietly. She flew up cautiously, looking around just one last time to see if it was safe until she was hidden in the branches and leaves of the tree.

She hung her little wicker basket on a small branch and looked around, craning her head as if she was some kind of submarine looking for the German submarines that sunk the Lusitania.

And she saw it.

She saw it and oh lordy it was magnificent. It's red skin shone like chrome and so red... so red that... It was red! Her tummy growled like a maniac in a straightjacket. Which was close enough to the truth. She reached out with her hoof trembling and shaking. She then, ever so gently, plucked the bright, red, perfect, juicy, ripe, tasty, wonderful, bright, red, perfect apple.

She even more slowly, drew it back to herself. Her eyes wider than anything. Fluttershy wolfed the apple down like you wouldn't believe.

Finally, her first taste of something! She looked frantically around. Another one! Ha! This was easy! And another! And another! Another still! He basket was almost full until one lurched at her face. Hit square in the nose. The shock of the hit sent her crashing to the ground.

He rump really hurt and she started to cry due to the fall hurting so much. Applejack was going to see her. She was going to be pissed. She could here someone approaching. Fluttershy scrambled for a place to hind. 'Ohnoohnoohno" she said to herself.

"Hay, Fluttershy," She recognized that scratchy voice anywhere. Rainbow Dash picked up an apple and bit into it. She wasn't even hungry. "So, livin' offa someone else?" Rainbow said, chewing her apple. Rainbow Dash walked away, with a smug smile on her face. "Bitch." She said, tossing the half-eaten apple behind herself, hitting Fluttershy in the process.

She would have sat there in shock if it didn't happen so often. She just went back to sobbing and pouting at her apples and ruined life. Than Pinkie Pie came bounding along.

Pinkie Pie had a bright smile on her face as she waved to every pony who ever happened to pass by. She turned to look in the other direction and immediately stopped when she saw Fluttershy. She slowly walked up to Fluttershy as their eyes met. "What's the problem?' Pinkie said with a smile.

Fluttershy looked at Pinkie and shifted uncomfortably. "What do you want?" she asked quietly.

Pinkie Pie looked at the ground and saw all the apples all over. She picked up an apple and presented it to Fluttershy. "You want an apple?" she said kindly with a bright smile on her face.

Fluttershy looked onward at the wonderful apple. She nodded as she slowly took the apple out of Pinkie's hoofs. Pinkie walked away giggling. Fluttershy wiped the dirt off the apple. She opened her mouth, about to take a bit of the apple. But then, something round and pink flew between them and let out a stench so foul and rotten.

Fluttershy spewed on the ground as Pinkie Pie rolled around laughing hard. Pinkie quickly got up and kicked Fluttershy in the gut and ran off, ponies cheering for her and rooting for her. Fluttershy got up slowly and groaning. Then she came. "Now you oughta get off a mah property ya skank!"

Fluttershy looked up but was too slow. Apple jack and kicked her square in the face. The force, knocking her to the ground. Fluttershy got up and dashed away to home. "Parasite!" Apple jack shouted.

About halfway through town, Fluttershy collided with Rarity. Both of them, being knocked to the ground. Rarity looked at Fluttershy. "Oh, Fluttershy, hello." They got up and dusted themselves off. Rarity looked back at Fluttershy. "Oh," she said. "You have something on your face."

Rarity put her hoof on Flutttershy's cheek and rubbed it a little. She then slapped Fluttershy straight across the face. Rarity had some kind of jewelry on her and it had cut Fluttershy badly. Blood started to flow slowly out of the open wound. "Oh, no! I cut you! I have something to fix that." Rarity said, acting innocent again. And Fluttershy fell for it again.

"Oh, that's okay. Thank you." Rarity reached into her bag. She had just gone food shopping and was going to use this for something else, but being the generous pony she was, this was more important. She pulled a large clear bottle out of her pouch and opened the top.

"I need you to stand still for me. Okay darling?" Rarity said, putting her hoof on Fluttershy's face once again with a gentle touch. Fluttershy nodded slowly.

"Is it going to hurt?" Fluttershy asked in a wimpy voice.

"Don't you worry a thing about it. It won't hurt a bit." Rarity lied.

She than proceeded to dump an entire liter of vinegar on the wound. The cut burned intensely and Fluttershy ran away ashamed and in pain. She could hear ponies behind her laughing at her and cheering for Rarity.

As if it took forever, Fluttershy had finally made it to her cottage. She slammed the door behind her and flopped to the ground, sobbing, sobbing, sobbing. The floor around her was strewn with glass, garbage and other things. No sound of animals, she had scared them all away after what happened to Angel. She licked her lips and tried to smile at that memory. She did miss her though.

But where had it gone wrong? She was like this when she had friends, but everything was better. When did she think it was a good idea? She crawled around her house. She didn't care if some glass go caught in her stomach, It was a good thing anyway. But she had found it. A white book which in red words said: Yearbook!

Fluttershy sat up against the wall. Some glass had gotten caught in her and blood slowly streamed down. But she didn't care about that. She flipped though the pages to the student pictures. She found herself. She looked at her 10 year old self. A bright smile on her face. Still had braces on but they would come off soon. Overall, she looked like an innocent young filly, happy and bright. If Fluttershy had a time machine, she would go back just to kill her. Keep her from meeting the fate she would. Just take a knife and pull it right across the throat. She'd be doing everyone a favor. At least then, she could die with some innocence.

Fluttershy tuned the page and saw where it had gone wrong. The cause of it at least. Sapphire. When she was growing up, she didn't have many friends and was a very awkward pony. She always seemed off her mark. Said other ponies at least. But in high school, she looked beautiful. A real head turner. Fluttershy was attractive at that time as well. Colts liked her and always wanted to date her and whatever.

Than came the prom.

There was a beauty contest and both Sapphire and Fluttershy were in it. However, Sapphire had won by a hair. Not that Fluttershy was a soar loser. They shook hoofs and Fluttershy congratulated her. But it was what happened after that day. After that, Everyone made fun of her for losing. She wasn't even sure why. She was a runner up. But everyone still though that Sapphire was mentally insane and since Fluttershy lost to her, ponies called her stupid and ugly.

Nowadays, Sapphire was completely normal. You would never have even known she was insane. She was a superstar and everybody loved her. Especially Rarity. But by that time, it was too late for Fluttershy. All the bullying and abuse led her to drugs. All you could think of. She did them all the time. She was able to keep it a secret from her old friends who completely despised the idea of drugs.

When the did find out, they put her in an organization to stop her addiction. Whatever they seemed to do however never helped. She had driven herself to the point where she was completely lacking self control and she soon started to pay everything for her drugs until she was alone with no food, water of electricity. She was often caught trying to steal the things she needed and often got jailed for it. By the time that happened, he friends just gave up on her and pretended she didn't exist. But she became so bad that they grew a burning hatred for her.

She he been stealing their things too and had been trying to get their attention. It soon led the whole town to hate her. He life had went to the point where she had absolutely nothing. To the point where she couldn't go any lower.

She sifted through the garbage on the floor till she found a syringe. Sharp, deadly and sharp. Fluttershy had no more heroin or crack or anything. She lifted the syringe and stabbed herself with it. Right in the chest. Did it hurt? Or course it did. But it was better that way. Better for them.

A feeling surged through her. A deadly feeling. She ran to the kitchen and threw a cabinet open. There was a knife in there. But it was good. She picked up the knife with her and lowered it to the point where she could almost feel it going through her hoof. She cried in pain. But it was better that way. She lifted the knife again and this time, the knife hit the counter top. About three inches of her hoof came off and onto in. Staining it in red. But it was better for them.

But not good enough. She raised her forearm to look at it. It was red now. Red and wet. She raised the knife again, this time with the point facing down, and lowered the knife again. The sides of the knife coming out of her left hoof. She kept shoving it deeper and deeper until she got to her elbow where she couldn't go any farther.

Fluttershy smiled a little bit. "Now I have three front legs." She whispered to herself. She grabbed half of her arm with her mouth and tugged at it. She was able to break it off at the elbow And proceeded to do the same thing with the other part. Now all her left foreleg was, was a bone. One she couldn't move either, due to lack of muscle.

Her face was covered in blood, sweat and tears and she was screaming loudly. She hit the floor and curled up in a little ball. The syringe lay next to her. Empty. She picked it up with the working hoof and pulled it back so it sucked in air. She remembered learning in health class that if air goes into the blood vines, it could kill you. That's why you put pressure on an open wound. Not blow on it.

She lifted the syringe to her neck and placed it in. She smiled to herself. "It's better for them." She pushed the air into her vine. Finally, she had defeated her friends' latest and most cruel villain. Fluttershy. But at least she restored harmony.
