Epilogue

Previous Chapter

Daren and I sit on the highest rooftop watching the sun set. Our day was filled with peace and quiet, so we just sat and talked.
I lean against his broad shoulder and he places an arm around me.

"Bloodwing, can I ask you something?" he says, sounding slightly anxious. We haven't played the 'Question Game' for two days, but that was for his enjoyment.
"Sure. What is it?" I say, facing him and balancing the goggles on my mane so that I can see him a little better.
"I know you're a worker, but how come I didn't see you until last month?"
A month ago sounds a long time...but now it isn't due to the fact that I don't work at the factory any more.
"Because I was fired from my job, Daren" I say. He turns his head to look at me, and raises an eyebrow in confusion. "Before I had the accident, all workers were sworn not to hurt themselves on a piece of machinery, because that would prove that you weren't responsible enough for the job. Even if it wasn't your fault, you were deemed unfit and not worthy for the position. So when I was hurt, I had to hover down to here and live the rest of my life without a career".
"Oh...so that's why you had that patch of blood on your flank when I met you."
I nod, and he lowers his hoof to touch where my cutie mark was. I wince, remembering the excruciating pain I went through when the dagger sliced the mark off. He takes his hoof away, probably in fear that he'll hurt me.
"Can you remember what your cutie mark was?" Daren looks at me, and he puts on another anxious expression.

I try hard to remember what my cutie mark was, but it had never crossed my mind since. Suddenly, I recover an old memory from my mind: when I first got my mark.
"It was a spiral shape!" I say, smiling at the memory. "I think it was a purple spiral, but I didn't know what it meant back then. I was only a filly...but a destructive one too"
Daren chuckles. "Perhaps it was to represent 'twisted', as it, spiral twisted? Y'know, like a screwball..."
I chuckle too. "You think I'm a screwball, Daren?"
"The best screwball I know" he says. We embrace, watching the sun dip below the horizon.

As the stars start to appear, I stand up and put on the goggles, ready to fly home.
"Must you always wear those damned goggles? You look rough and hard without them. I think that when you cover them, you're portraying yourself as a coward would" Daren says, standing up with me.
I take off the goggles and put them on his head. I chuckle at his dumbfounded look, and he laughs with me.
"Alright, I'll keep them. They'll possibly be a souvenir. But if, if we do break up-"
I silence him with a kiss. I don't want to leave Daren, and I know that he doesn't want to leave me either.
He speaks quietly. "If we do break up, they'll remind me of you"
"But won't your marefriend be mad?"
"Ah, she'll be mad, but not insane like we both are"
I smile, and he returns it. "I never want to leave you..." I say, looking into his eyes.
"I don't either. I love you a lot, you know"
I chuckle. "I love you more."
"Oh, stop flirting with me, Bloodwing! Hey, late corny pick-up line, but your eyes glisten like rubies"
My chuckle turns into a laugh. "Alright, that's good enough."
We kiss each other goodnight and fly home.

Author's Note

And it's finished! I just thought I'd write an epilogue, because I thought it would be a little abrupt on the last chapter.
Did you like the story? As I said, the friend I roleplay with took the suggestion of writing Daren's point of view, so maybe that will be possible.
I didn't add any series characters in, because they didn't really mix within the storyline.
The lyrics stated in this story come from Woodentoaster's 'Rainbow Factory' and 'Awoken' by Woodentoaster, H8_seed, A Blu Skittle, and Bronydanceparty.
(To be honest, they kind of inspired me to create Bloodwing. And now look where she is now)
I also wrote this story on Wattpad, but it will have to be changed so that it isn't so 'erotic'
Thank you for reading,

p.s maybe I'll write another one...hmm...
