Chapters No Such Thing As A Broken Mirror?
Princess Twilight Sparkle walked alongside her younger brother as they in usion walked through the reflective, crystal halls of the Crystal Kingdom's Crystal Castle. That was really all they could do at the time. The Princesses Cadence, Luna, and Celestia were having an important meeting with the president of Brazil.
"Apparently too important for me to attend." The African-american princess grumbled.
"Oh come on, Twilight," Her Caucasian younger brother replied. "Didn't you get over this last week?"
"Yes Spike, but, but" She stammered. She then cried out in exasperation. "I've found out my purpose! I know that I need to spread friendship! Why can't I help spread it to Brazil?"
"Ah, forget it Twi," The younger gave his sister a reassuring pat on the arm "They're probably discussing stuff you can't do."
Twilight took offense to this statement. Clearly shown by what she had said next:
"Like WHAT
"Oh, y'know, somehow getting a president to give you free, important stuff. Like oil."
It was true. Homosapia was in desperate need for oil. Humans weren't strong enough to pull itself, and trains, cars, and many daily necessities for the people of Homosapia didn't run on magic. Only a few of them did. Therefore, the princesses needed to form a pact, a friendship, with the ruler of one of the countries with the most fuel: Brazil. It was deceitful, sly, and to some, just downright wrong. But, at the end of the day, it was all for the greater good.
"Oh. Right." She sighed, a blush forming on her cheeks. She felt awful for getting upset like that. It was so immature of her. She mentally slapped herself.
Bad Twilight! That is not how a princess acts. She scolded herself inwardly.
"But hey, at least we finally get to explore the castle, right? It'll be like when you were younger and I was- and," He paused, frowning slightly. A look of sadness dawned upon his face for a moment. He was about to go with it, but he quickly refused. He wouldn't think about it , he refused to think about it. "And I was basically the same. Heh."
"Yeah. I suppose it might be fun." Twilight replied, nodding. She knew what he was thinking about. His slow aging.
When Twilight was only eight years-old, she had gotten cutie mark, passed an entrance exam for one of the most important private schools in all of Homosapia, hatched an egg containing a supposed baby dragon, and became Princess Celestia's personal student. But, on that day they had realized the hatchling was, in fact, not a dragon, but a human-dragon hybrid. Twilight's magic as a result of the first Sonic Rainboom - created by the Friendship Princess's dear friend, Rainbow Dash - the baby had the looks of a human, but he could breathe fire, was impervious to flames, could use a small amount of magic, and aged slowly, very slowly. But, they try not to think about that. Optimism is BEST ism, as Pinkie Pie says.
"Yeah!" The dragon-boy cheered, racing down the reflective halls. The older African-american chuckled, and then began chasing after her younger brother. She couldn't help but smile as a warm feeling of nostalgia filled her up, from head to toe. If anybody else, especially people of great importance, where there to see such an act, they would have definitely sneered or gasped in shock, but did Twilight care? Nope! Well, not for now, anyways.
Eventually, she realized she had lost the green-haired boy. She panted profusely, but quickened her pace.
"Spike!" She called, the name of her faithful assistant echoing throughout the castle. Hopefully, not interrupting the meeting between a president and three princesses.
"Spike?" No response. Panic began to strike the girl, hitting her right in the heart. Her breath quickened, her eyes darted from side to side, up and and down, anywhere.
"Spike!?" The silence, the lack of a certain spike-toothed boy was worrying, frightening, and infuriating all at the same time. And Twilight had no idea why she was getting so flustered. This was a castle ruled by her sister in-law and eldest brother, a place where he was known as, 'Spike, The Brave And Glorious'. But, none of that dawned upon her, because when family members are lost and when panics hits you, you kind of start thinking like a drunken toddler.
"SPIKE !?" A drunken toddler who really like the word 'Spike' and shouting said word. Did you know, in times of panic, when your brain is taking the Oh Shit! express to Mortal Terror station, you notice things you've never noticed before. Twilight spun around noticing the almost endless series of hallways all around her.
This place is a freaking maze! She screamed in utter silence. Don't these idiotic, ignorant guards know when to render assistance!?
"SPIIIIII-
"What?"
"Spike Samuel Sparkle, you scared the living day lights out of me!"
"Oh, gee. I'm sorry for disrespecting your authoritah."
"Samuel. "
"Aw c'mon on, Twi, it was just a jok-"
"Just a joke!? Spike, you could have gotten hurt!"
"Uh, how?"
"Well, Sombra could have broke free!"
"But, he's sealed in-"
"Changelings could have attacked!"
"But they were blasted-"
"Discord might have betrayed us, causing destruction and chaos! Again! Here!"
"But, he di- you know what? I give-"
"Nightmare Moon could have returned!"
"Twilight?"
"You would probably have gotten lost in this maze of a castle! Starving or dying of dehydration!"
"Twilight!"
"Or a terrorist disguised as a guard, who is secretly against Celestia, or the nation itself, could have kidnapped y-"
"TWILIGHT! "
Twilight face worried face melted into a sheepish one. "Um, yes?"
"I'm sorry for getting you worried, Twi. It was very irresponsible of me to wander around this castle alone, okay?"
The elder of the duo sighed, her face adorning a small smile. "It's okay. I'm sorry, too. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that.
Spike shrugged, but smile. "It's cool." This caused the two to chuckle a bit. After they had stopped, Spike suddenly remembered something.
"Twilight, come on!" He called, motioning her to follow him as he ran down a hall. "I've got something to show you!"
"Wait!" She called, but followed the boy anyways. "Spike?"
She rounded the corner to see her assistant pushing a sliding door. Or wall. Twilight really could't tell the difference at the time. Her greatest concern, really, was if he was damaging property, if they needed to pay for it, and how much it would cost if they needed to pay for a sliding panel.
"Spike, what in the great, big nation of Homosapia are you doing!?"
"Don't worry, it's not broken...I think."
Twilight facepalmed. There were just no words.
"Can you help me? Please?"
She sighed. She could practically feel the puppy-dog eyes staring at her. Looking down, she resisted the urge to let out a 'D'aaaw!" as she stared into the huge pools of green the were her brother's eyes.
"...Fine."
Anybody in my shoes would have done the same thing. She reassured herself.
The two slid the panel to the right, revealing the entirety of the room. Like almost every room in the crystal castle, it was crystal. But, in the middle of the room, there was a mirror. Nothing else in that tiny little room except for that mirror.
"How curious." She mumbled to herself.
"Wha?" Spike inquired.
"Nothing, Spike."
"Twilight walked forward, planning on viewing herself in the mirror. You know, like any sane person would do. But, her reflection didn't appear. It was as if she wasn't there at all. Spike noticed this, too. And the next thing Twilight knew, she was being tackled, being punched by very weak and harmless fists, while her best and closest friend was repeatedly shouting, "Die, Vampire, die!". Presumably at her.
"Spike, get off of me!" She commanded, pushing the boy off with great ease. But, Spike quickly jumped up, hatred in his eyes.
"No, this is the part where Buffy kills Bella!" He shouted, much to Twilight's confusion, and his lizard-like tongue lashing out. He charged forward, ready to attack his sister once more. But, any attempts at harming her was stopped by said girl's hand.
"Spike, what in the world are you talking about!?"
"The internet, it's awesome! Not that you would know about it, ya dumb vampire!" He pushed against Twilight's hand, reaching out to do anything to harm to the "vampire". It wasn't super effective.
"I'm not a vampire!"
"That's exactly what a vampire would say!" He said, pointing an accusing finger at the lady.
"I Pinkie-Promise I'm not a vampire!"
"Okay." With that response, Twilight removed her hand from the Caucasian's face. She let out a sigh of relief.
"Well?" The dragon-boy asked, hands on his hips as if he were about to give out a handful of sass.
"Well what?" The human-girl asked in return, her position not so sassy.
"Do the thing!"
"What th- ohhhh ." She said, realizing what her younger companion meant. "Okay let's get this over with. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." She did the motions that followed, ending in the light touch of a closed. She turned to see Spike in front of the mirror.
"Hey, my reflections not there, either. I guess you are right, Twi." He announced.
"You know, we could have just skipped that entire interaction by just going over so you could see that also didn't have a reflection!!" She pointed out rather loudly.
"Yeah, I know." He answered. "But, the author didn't want me to do that."
"Wait, what?
"What. Nothing."
The girl shook her head, and said, "Spike, you need to hang out with Pinkie Pie less."
Spike rolled his eyes. "Anyways, about the mirror, maybe it's broken?" He offered.
The offer made Twilight laugh. "Pfft. Spike, an intact mirror can't be broken, haha!"
"Seems pretty broken to me." Spike commented as he tapped on the mirror. Except, his finger didn't tap against the glass. It went through the glass. It took a few seconds to realize, though. When it did come to notice, the boy that the hand was connected to, tried with all the little boy strength he could muster, to pull the appendage out. It did not work.
"Uh, Twi?"
"Yes, heh, Spike?" Answered the chuckling princess.
"My hand's stuck."
"What? Where?"
"In the mirror."
"Spike, stop joking around, that's impossible."
But, Twi-"
"Oh, dear, sweet, Celestia, you're hand is stuck in the mirror!"
"Eeyup."
Twilight stood there, not knowing what to do.
"Um, have you tried pulling it out?" She questioned.
"No, of course not. In my all of my nine years of living have I heard such great advice. Thank you, Doctor Friend!" Spike said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Nobody likes sarcasm, Spike." She said, wagging a finger at the boy.
"TWILLIIIIGHT!!!!! Spike screamed, interrupting his sister's finger-wagging. "It's sucking me innnnnnnnn! "
Twilight leaped towards the boy, grabbing his waist. She tugged and pulled, trying desperately to set him free. She pulled with all her might, even if she was afraid of hurting the poor boy. Screams of Twilight's name and cries of 'help' echoed echoed around the castle. But, it seemed as if the cries of their beloved 'Spike, The Brave And Glorious' fell upon deaf ears. Spike was crying now, all his hope rested on the girl that was wildly pulling on his waist. It wasn't too long until Twilight, too, was trapped. Even so, she tried desperately to get Spike. She might have been a goner, but she'd be damned if anything happened to her younger sibling.
She and Spike thrashed, struggled, whined, cried, screamed, and even tried to cast a spell, any spell, to get out. Twilight was crying with Spike now. And she realized she'd only ever felt this hopeless a few times in her short life. Very short life, in fact!
I'm only eighteen years-old. And Spike's only nine. Nine! He doesn't deserve this...We don't...
Twilight looked up to her sinking brother, he would disappear in a matter of seconds. She tried to say something, but her throat was too clogged up from mucus in her throat. She looked in his eyes.
I-I failed him.
His face was fully consumed by that Celestia-awful mirror. She thought about the people in her life that were the most important to her. Spike, Shining Armor, Cadence Pinkie Pie, AppleJack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Princess Luna, and the mare who was more like a Mother to her than her own Mother, Princess Celestia.
And then, she was gone. No evidence that they were there at all.

Wake Up In The Mornin' Feeling Completely Awful
Twilight Sparkle woke up, as she would do any day. Except, this time, it was different. Everything hurt. Her bones, her throat, her joints, her head, her everything. She groaned in pain, but stopped midway. Her throat hurt immensely. She needed something, anything to cease the pain.
Water, She thought. I need water!
She began to lift her arms in preparation to push herself off her bed, but the pain was just too much. At that moment, she noticed something else; her noses was clogged with dry snot, her eyes crusted with "eye boogers", as Twilight Velvet called them. Was she sick?
Wait a minute, sore throat? Have I been crying?
Crying. For some reason, the action was significant, but Twilight couldn't place why. Then, it hit her. The mirror! She had been sucked inside it. And Spike...What had happened to Spike? She strained her head to look around her room. It was the same room she made above the library. The place she called, Home. She spotted green under a blue blanket. With all the power she had, she sucked in a deep, cooling breath. She let out a loud roar. Said roar turned into a low moan as soon as the word escaped her lips.
"Spiiiiike. "
She went into a coughing fit, discomforting her poor throat even more.
"Ow..." She mumbled, soft enough to not cause any pain.
Luckily, the coughing fit had caused the Potential Spike-thing to stir. The creature lifted itself to it's feet, letting out something that sounded like a yawn. The blanket dropped off of the creature's body. Revealing a very tired purple-scaled and green-spined baby dragon adorned in Spike's clothing.
"Twi? Aw man, what time is it?" The dragon asked, rubbing it's eyes. Twilight would have screamed if throat wasn't sore. So, as a substitute, she stared at the purple creature with utter horror on her face. She knew this dragon, even though she had only saw him once. It was Spike's first stage of greediness. His greediness had turned him into a full dragon. He became older the greedier he became. Luckily, he reverted back to normal by the end of the day, even if he caused some...Property damage. So many angry letters...
The creature finally opened it's eyes. His mouth was agape in shock at first, then formed into a smile. A very big, large, creepy smile. The small reptile leaped onto the poor girl, his smile had reached far beyond the confines of his face. The dragon leaned as close as she could to the princess' face.
"Ohmigosh hi, Little Horsey! I dunno if you're a background horse or not, but I love you and the Mane six and stuff, so can I hug you!?" .
"Uh, what...?" Asked the very confused girl.
"Oh, sorry," The creature apologized. "My name's Spike Sparkle, and I love you guys! I'm a Bro-rse, and I watch your show!"
"Show? Wha- gah! Ow. Spike? Spike, you- ah- dragon again..."
"Wait a minute," Said the purple dragon, the smile formed a serious frown. "Twilight?"
"Of cour- Ow! Grr...Yes."
Spike's eyes widened, and he jumped back, landing on Twilight's stomach, knocking the wind out of her. He stumbled backwards, falling flat on his rear. He then pointed an accusing finger at Twilight.
"B-but, you're a horse! "
Twilight, being Twilight, would have normally shot back a sarcastic comment or waved off the boy-turned-dragon's silliness. But, she didn't, because at that moment she was fighting to get air inside her lungs.
"What happened to you, Twilight!?"
"What happened to me?" Twilight answered, finally breathing properly again. "Spike, you're a dragon!"
"...I'm a what?"
"A dragon."
"What?"
" A Dragon! Cough cough... Ow."
"A dragon?" Spike said, lifting his fingers to his face. Except, they weren't fingers. They were sharp, purple claws. Spike could do all but stare in shock. "How did this happen?"
"Seriously, Twi, how did this happen!?" He shouted in a panic. "I don't remember gathering up any stuff! I don't even remember getting a really classy and pimp-like fedora!"
"I honestly don't know, Spike. Maybe it had to do with the mirror?" She wondered, not really talking to Spike, just pondering out-loud really.
"The mirror!? I thought that that was a dream! " Spike cried, exasperated. "I mean, if it did exist, wouldn't it just come out t5he other side!?"
"You're righ-"
"You know what? No. Stop. I just can't take you seriously anymore."
"What? Why!?" Twilight asked, slightly offended. "Gah! Cough cough cough Owww....
"Because you're a horse!"
If Twilight wasn't in pain, she would have laughed. The idea of being a horse, when she had been a human her whole life and that had never changed, was ridiculous. She held up a hand.
"Spike, that's absolutely ridicu-" But, she stopped mid-sentence. For she was to busy staring in utter shock at a lavender stump that she once thought was her hand.
"Told ya so." Spike mumbled under his breath. Not that Twilight could have heard him, anyways. Twilight, at the time, couldn't do anything. TwilightSparkle.EXE had stopped working. Please try again later.
"Uh, Twi? Twiii? " Spike, on the other hand, or other other hoof, if you will, was taking this rather well. Twilight let out a groan, pushing some of the mucus up. She then swung back her head letting it hit the pillow.
"This is the worst day..." She trailed off. Her assistant crawled towards her, and patted her shoulder in reassurance.
"Don't worry, Twilight, I'll make some breakfast," He said, smiling. "And then, once you feel better, we'll find a spell to reverse...this."
"Okay," Twilight sighed. "Thank you." Spike hopped off the bed, running downstairs to cook something up, pondering if he should just make something cold, like cereal. Twilight then rolled onto her stomach and buried her head in a pillow.
This is going to be a long day. She thought.
Then, something occurred to her. Something that shocked her and made her hair, er mane and fur stand on end. They were in the library. The library that was their home, sanctuary, a place the had grown to love over their four years of living there. The same library Tirek destroyed.
"Come on, Twi, one step at a time." Spike said, guiding the newly-found equine down the stairs. Twilight fumbled on the stairs, trying her hardest to keep her balance. Taking off all of her clothes, (Spike's suggestion), did not help one bit. But, at least she found something out. She lost her wings. It was rather bittersweet to Twilight.
"Spike, why aren't even the least worried about this?" Twilight rasped. "We're in our library, the library Tirek destroyed . Destroyed. Cough Cough! Ow."
"I am worried, but don't you think we have more pressing matters at hand." Spike replied. He pulled Twilight forward a bit, urging her to step onto another step. Twilight stepped down onto the step with a fore hoof, but her hind legs refused to work correctly. She tilted forward and lost her balance, falling down. She tumbled down the stairs, thrashing and kicking, as she took Spike down with her.
Twilight had stopped at the bottom of the oak steps, a loud groaning sound erupted from her throat, sounding like an elderly man waking up in the morning. Spike, however, had slid across the floor a few inches and was unharmed.
After realizing, he had suffered no physical damage, he scrambled up to his feet and went over to Twilight.
"Twilight. Twilight! Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo " She groaned.
"Well, c-can you move?"
"I don't knoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Cough! "
"Sh-should I, uh, um, try to move you?"
"I don't knooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww. Cough cough cough! "
Spike reached down and grabbed the equine, then tried to pull her to her hooves. The groaning intensified, then turned into a screech. He dropped her and she fell to floor with a cry.
Spike winced, "Sorry."
Spike stepped, trying his best to not look at the weak, crumpled up unicorn that was his sister.
Okay, He thought. How am I gonna do this?
He could possibly try the same method again, but that caused Twilight pain. And she couldn't just leave her there...
Suddenly, a idea came to Spike. Not the most clever idea, but it was good enough for him.
Spike knelt down and his scaly arms around Twilight's sore body and hugged her tight. A moan, and coughs, of course, escaped Twilight's throat. Spike slowly walked backwards, dragging the unicorn's legs behind him. Twilight kept moaning and groaning, but was too tired to speak. Spike eventually made it to the library's living area and lied Twilight on the couch.
The pony mumbled something that sounded like, "Thank you", but Spike did not hear for he was already heading to the kitchen to prepare a cold serving of lumpy cereal and milk.
Twilight stopped groaning. Something important came to her. She lifted a hoof, much to her body's disliking, and poked her horn. She sighed in relief, at least she hadn't lost her horn. Then, she moved a hoof to her shoulder, forcing the fur to show skin. Twilight groaned and slammed her head to the couch. But she had lost her cutie mark.
Perfect.
Spike padded into the room, holding a bowl and a glass of milk in his claws. He put the object onto a table next to the couch.
"O-okay, Twi, be careful now," Spike warned. "You don't want to strain-"
Twilight quickly took the cup in a hoof and downed it feverishly. Then, after setting the glass down on the table, she took the bowl in both hooves and drank and gulped down the contents quickly. She put the bowl down, and relished on the relief of her throat. She turned to her assistant, becoming embarrassed.
"Uh, sorry, Spike," She apologized, but was also quite happy that she could talk normally again." Guess I got a little carried away. Heh." Spike ignored the mare's apology and stared in awe at her. "Uh, Spike, are you o-"
"You got super powers!" The dragon suddenly shouted.
"....Super powers?"
"Yeah! Well, powers of a sort. You're, um, Twilight Sparkle the Pony: The Master of Picker-uppery!"
"Ugh, not those comic books again. I've had enough of them after last time."
"But you do have powers, have you seen any other horses do that?"
"No, but I don't want to some special unicorn horse for very long, so the sooner we find a way to fix this, the sooner things will be back to normal."
Spike sighed in defeat. Not feeling like joking anymore, he started shuffling his way downstairs to the library with his head down.Twilight lied down on the bed, feeling guilty for making Spike upset. Twilight suddenly remembered something. Twilight reached a sore and hurt hoof to her forehead, eventually finding something long and stick-like. Twilight let a smile show, at least she still had her horn. She then moved a hoof to her shoulder. She used said hoof to, somehow, force the fur to show skin. Unfortunately for her, her cutiemark was nowhere to be seen.
"DO YOU THINK IT'LL BE UNDER "T"!?" Spike called from downstairs.
"....WHA-WHA- Cough cough COuGH! What?" Twilght replied.
"DO YOU THINK THE BOOK FOR THE TRANSFORMATION WILL BE UNDER 'T'!?"
"I don't know. Yes? Maybe?"
Spike didn't reply, so Twilight resumed doing nothing. Suddenly, a creeping feeling came up on her. She didn't know this feeling that well, but she had felt it before. Helplessness. She felt so helpless and weak. So helpless she wanted to punch somebody in the face. She wanted to scream and shout. She wanted to do anything to prove she wasn't weak. But, she couldn't, and it was complete torture.
She looked out of a window that showed quite a bit of Peopleville, wanting to know what time it was. It looked like it was the afternoon, but nobody was out and about. It was rather odd, but Twilight thought nothing of it.
A long while later, Spike came running up the stairs. "I looked through the transformations and stuff, but I couldn't find anything on...Our problem."
"Did you double-check?" Twilight asked.
"Yes."
"Triple-check?"
"Yep."
"And the emergency, quadruple-check?"
"Eeyup."
Twilight sighed, sinking deeper into the couch.
"Well," She said. "What so we do now?"
"Maybe we can send a letter to Princess Celestia?" Spike suggested.
"No we can't do that!" Twilight countered. "Do you know what she'll think if I can't reverse a simple transformation!?"
"Twi, she's not going to send you back to Magic Kindergarten. Spike reassured her. Twilight sighed once more. She turned to her brother.
"Well, we should at least try other ways of getting out of this mess without needing Princess Celestia's help."
Spike thought for a moment. "Oh! Maybe we can ask Zecora for some help!"
Twilight nodded. "Good idea, Spike. Zecora's great with potions and remedies."
"Yeah, I know....I've met her before."
Twilight sat up right, wincing a little. She started to push herself off the couch when Spike ran over and pushed against one of her forearms to stop her.
"Are y-you sure you can s-stand?" Spike asked nervously. Twilight didn't answer as she pushed herself onto her shaky hooves. It still hurt her, but not as much as before. She shakily managed to walk to the base of the stairs. She looked back at her number-one assistant and gave him a smile.
"Come on." Twilight said. Spike returned the smile and he ran after her as they made their way down the stairs, and, eventually, out of the library.
"I wonder where everybody is." Spike said as he and Twilight walked in the now ghost town-like town of Peopleville. The sun was high up in the sky, making it seem as if it was the afternoon, but nobody was out and about. No lights on. No voices. Nothing.
"I, honestly, don't care where they are," Twilight replied. "As long as they don't see us like this."
"Aw, cone on, Twi," Spike said. "It's really not that bad."
"Yes it is! Messing up.... uh, something and turning her and her assistant into different creatures is very, very bad for a princess! Especially if someone finds out!"
"Wait. How do you know that you did it?"
"I don't. I'm just assuming that I did."
"Well, you know what they say about assuming. It makes an a-"
I'm familiar with the term, Spike!"
"Okay...Jeez... "
The two continued to head to Zecora's in silence. That is, until Twilight's stomach growled, causing the pony to blush in embarrassment.
"Heh, sounds like somebody's pretty hungry." Spike commented, an amused plastered on his face.
"Yes, Spike, I know that," Twilight said, annoyed. "Now, let's just keep going and-"
"Hey! There's Sugarcube Corner!" Spike interrupted. "We can get you something to eat there!"
Twilight let out a low growl in frustration and rubbed her forehead with a hoof. Then, she put on the biggest smile she could possibly make, turned to her brother, and spoke through her teeth.
"Spike, remember what I said about it being bad for a princess and her assistant to be seen like this?"
"Yeah?"
"Well then, we would be seen in Sugarcube Corner, and therefore, it would be very bad!"
"But, nobody's out," Spike said, holding his claws up in defense. "And it looks like nobody's in there. So, we could whip up something by ourselves."
Twilight shook her head and sighed. "Fine. But, I have a bad feeling about this, Spike."
Spike chuckled and grabbed the girl's fore hoof, dragging her to the bakery. "You always have bad feelings about things."
"I do not," The lavender unicorn retorted. "And when I do, I'm mostly right!"
"Yeah, yeah."

The quaint little bakery was dark, with little streaks of sunlight pouring out partly open curtains. Rows of delicious treats were lined up behinds the counters. It seemed as if people were still working there, but it looked as if it was abandoned. Nobody seemed to be anywhere.
"See?" Spike said. "Nobody's-"
"Oh? Hello?" A voice called.
Spike immediately gripped one of Twilight's forelegs, his claws sinking into her skin. He trembled in fear and shock, for who knows what somebody might do when they find a magical horse and a baby dragon in a seemingly closed store? Twilight froze up, and barely felt Spike's claws tearing into her flesh, for she was far too scared. Her brain flashed images of dethroning, banishment, and...Magic Kindergarten.
A blue face poked above the counter, huge pink eyes filled up almost all of it's face, and pink frosting-like hair sat atop it's head. It smiled, showing a set of pearly white teeth.
"Oh, hello, Twilight..." Then it's face formed into one of confusion. And something about it's voice felt familiar to Twilight. "And...Dragon?"
It walked out for behind the counter, revealing it's large, heavy, and bulky body. "What are you doing here so earl-"
The creature was interrupted by Spike's scream of terror. Spike then scrambled to grab two straws conveniently left on one of the many trash-strewn tables. He formed the straws into the shape of a cross. "Back! Back, Demon-Beast!" Spike shouted, trying to defend himself. "Back!"
The creature was extremely confused. "Twilight, can you please tell me what's going on?" So familiar.
Then it hit her. "Mrs. Cake." Twilight deadpanned.
"Yes?" Mrs. Cake answered, not knowing that it wasn't a question. Twilight, however, didn't answer. She couldn't find her voice. She didn't know what to do. She was too shocked, too confused, too utterly stunned at the entire situation. So, she looked up at the baker and gave her a pleading look.
"Mrs. Cake!?" Spike shouted, letting the straws fall to the floor. "What happened to you!?"
The blue baker took a few steps back from the odd duo, chuckling nervously. "Um, Twilight, can you please tell me what's going on here?"
"What's going on here is that you somehow turned into a pony, too!" Spike answered for his sister, then turned to said sister. "Twilight, what in Homosapia did you do!?"
She didn't answer.
"Should...Should I just go?" Mrs. Cake asked nervously, pointing into the kitchen behind her with a hoof.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Spike said, waving his claws around hysterically. These actions made Cup Cake take a few more steps back, shifting her eyes between Twilight and the baby dragon.
"I believe Spike is wondering how you turned into a pony, too." Twilight chimed in monotonously.
"Turned into...?" Mrs. Cake trailed off, confused. "Twilight, I've always been a pony!"
"That's not true!" Shouted Spike.
"Oh, and how would you know?" Cup Cake asked.
"We both saw you last weekend! We were getting treats ready for Fluttershy's birthday!"
"I've never seen you before in my life." Mrs. Cake said. "And who in Equestria is Fluttershy!?"
Spike stammered out a response. He was angry and confused and was on the verge of tears. What on Earth was wrong with Mrs. Cake!? She denied she was a human, didn't know who he or Fluttershy was. What was going on?
"Can we see Pinkie Pie, please?" Twilight asked, in the same monotone voice as before.
"Who?"
"Pinkie Pie." Twilight repeated, a little bit more sternly.
"Who's that?"
"WHAT!? Cough! " Twilight yelled as she leaped onto all fours.
"I honestly don't know who that-"
"Pinkie Pie! Cough! Your employee, your baker! Cough! The girl who throws parties and cough! makes everyone happy! She's practically your DAUGHTER Cough! and the older sister of your children! And you say you don't know her!? Cough! "
"...Yes...?"
Twilight stomped her hooves angrily. She turned around and made her way to the door noisily. "Come on, Spike!" She called over her shoulder. "We're leaving! Cough! "
Spike ran to join his companion.
"Wait! Twilight!" Mrs. Cake called, stopping Twilight at the door and causing Spike to slam right into her flank.
Twilight looked over her shoulder to the blue horse, her face etched with hope. "Yes?"
"The cough sounds awful, would you like some honey?" The blue baker offered. "Or maybe some tea?"
Twilight growled in response and stomped out of the bakery, Spike following her dizzily out into the street.
Mrs. Cake sighed, shaking her head. She turned to look at the wall clock, which showed it was 6 O' clock. A.M., of course. Hopefully, the breakfast rush would take her mind off of the strange meeting. She hoped.

Gargle.
"Y'know, if you're still hungry, we could try some place else." Spike offered.
"No, that was disaster enough." Twilight grumbled, her head down and her shoulders slouched as she shambled down the street. Spike reached up and patted her back trying to show her comfort.
"Come on, Twi." Spike said. "I don't want you to suffer."
"I'm not suffering, Spike. I'm feeling slightly uncomfortable."
"Well, it's the same thing, right? You're being put through something bad, like your uncomfortableness."
"'Uncomfortableness' isn't even a word."
Spike through his arms up, exasperated. "Well...Well...I'm, um, still right, aren't I!? You're suffering through that uncomfortable feeling."
"I'll deal with it, Spike."
"Please for me? We don't even have to go to a store!" Spike said. "We can, uh, go to a certain animal expert we know."
"Fluttershy?"
"No. Mane Goodall."
Nobody likes sarcasm, Spike."
"You sure seem to..." Spike mumbled under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing!" Spike answered a bit too quickly. "Anyways, can we please go to Fluttershy's? I don't like seeing you hurt, or in slight discomfort. Plus, we might figure out more about what's happening."
Twilight raised her hoof to her face in thought, quickly mastering the three-legged walk. Somehow. "Fine. But, I hope it's worth it."
"Yes!" Spike cheered as he quickened his pace to their new destination.
