Rainbow Dash was an aspiring Starlight Pegasus that dreamed of becoming the Starlight General after someone very important to her. Her hopes and dreams were shattered one day when a great tragedy changed her life. But when one door closes, another one opens for her. She also learns something important from an unexpected source!

This story is set in an alternative story where Luna goes semi-crazy about her lonely nights. Instead of her turning into Nightmare Moon and forcing all the ponies to live in a 'forever night' she instead chooses to 'make friends'.

Her friends are, by any other name, monsters. There's more to it than that but there you go.
