Eternals
The Feline and the Big Bad Wolf - Meowth and Bigby
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBigby wouldn't lie. He knew there was something off about him and his world. He would curve his hand a certain way and think of slowing time or completely stopping it and it would happen. He had had a dream of a world of blurred figures but at one point, they were at war, getting hurt and having powers to fight back and the next thing he knew, they were mingling with each other all happy and safe. He had had a dream this night in which he was apart of them and it honestly felt... nice.
He was awoken by a slight bang above his head. Expecting there to be some kind of trouble, he carefully used his slowing down time power to stop the time around him. Sheriff Bigby Wolf looked around and when he couldn't spot anything from his own room, he carefully searched the rest of the Woodworks building. No disturbance. Half annoyed, he trudged outside to the front of the property and glanced around, wondering if there was someone trying to break in. Then why was the bang coming from above him, which was why and how he was able to wake up in the first place.
Maybe it was just his stupid imagination. Maybe he was just losing it, more than usual. He was just about to go back inside the building when he noticed something. A rock, solid and medium sized soared past him and to the ground, coming from the roof. Maybe his time stopping power malfunctioned. Checking it, he realized it was still stopped. Then maybe the impostor was on the roof and the rock throw just had a delayed reaction. It made sense, and it was worth a shot.
He was as quiet as his clumsy self could be as he climbed up to the roof. He didn't see anybody and checking the time stopping spell once more, he sniffed out a scent of someone, or something, strange. The scent was strange. Not mundy or fable. But then, what was it. Expecting the worst, he inched closer to the edge of the roof, using the walls as cover so whatever was up there with him would not sense him should they even be able to sense stuff while stuck in a frozen time state.
His senses were locked on one part of the roof when suddenly, said thing appeared before him, wearing a devious yet heartfelt grin. It literally scared the crap out of him. Catching his balance, Bigby took in the smaller creature before him as it hopped easily onto a barrel to meet eye level with him. Well, this was certainly a mind fuck right here.
So, this was the Big Bad Wolf, Sheriff Bigby Wolf, huh? He knew the fable would have the time stopping power and he knew he was confused by his immunity to it and also just him in general. He was careful as he searched his both, grinning wider as his thoughts came true. He poked at his mind, causing a apparent retaliation from Bigby. Meowth chuckled slightly, watching his reaction with a sense of amusement. Living up to his Element, Laughter, huh?
"Seriously, who the hell are you?" Bigby asked with a half annoyed voice, ignoring the prob in his mind. It was probably nothing. Right now, he needed to focus on his job and that was to figure out who this was and what they wanted. Secretly, he wanted to know how they were able to resist his ability and why he felt somehow connected to them.
Meowth liked this. Reminded him of his own anger-fits and Judas. Maybe not him, too angry maybe. "I go by Meowth an' it has come ta our attention dat ya seem ta be able ta control time in yer world. Much like dis" Raising his paw, he retracted a claw and twisted it in the air in a way that caused time to un-pause and re-pause all in the matter of seconds. Bigby's reaction was reasonable, just what he expected.
"Alright Meowth. This needs some explaining. Like, how can you do that if you just said I can?"
Meowth instantly popped back into Bigby's mind but due to being unable to speak via telepathy, he simply poked at his mind, grabbing the sheriff's attention once more. "I come from a world known as da Eternal World where we Eternals reside. Our enemy, main enemy, is da Immortals in deir world. Many worlds are connected ta da Eternals an' when other worlds drive closa to us, only dose wid da blood, no matta how small, dey get a powa. Dat powa is the ability ta manipulate time in deir world. But back home, only dose wid strong powa can control it. I have dat powa" he explained, curling his tail slightly upwards.
"I was sent here by our 'leada' ta recruit ya, 'cause ya have da powa" Meowth grinned to Bigby.
"I suppose that makes sense but I can't just abandon Fabletown and those within it. They need me, if you know that" Bigby reasoned, actually intrigued by the offer. Were these Eternals the ones from his dreams. Were the Immortals the ones hurting them in his dreams that they all needed to fight?
Meowth chuckled, expecting the response. He had done multiple of these things before and Bigby was no different. But Meowth was interested in Bigby and honestly wanted to get to know him better. Plus, he had an act for protectiveness and adventure. Two things Meowth seemed to suffer from everyday.
'Don't worry. Fabletown, an' da Farm, will become fully in da Eternal world an' dey will be filled in wid da details by some of da oder membas. Ya can go back an' fort' from dis world to ours. But let me make somet'in' clear here" A serious tone plagued his tone as he stared daggers at Bigby, locking his blue eyes with his somewhat glowing yellow ones. "We are not a perfect group an' problems will happen an' sometimes, yer life will be in danga"
Bigby simply nodded and said, "If that is the case, then I am fine with becoming an Eternal. No one is perfect, plus, I think I would hate a perfect life"
Meowth grinned once more and teleported to Bigby's shoulder. He was finally able to get a smile out of Bigby as the wolf un-paused time and allowed for Meowth to lead him through the portal to the Eternal world. As soon as he did, he felt himself relax in a way he had never done before and he felt safe here amoungst the others. Amoungst the Eternals he was now apart of.
