Eternals
You Don't Understand - Nova, Kootra, Seamus, and Dan
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Hey guys, do you know where James went?" Kootra asked as he gazed out into the pouring rain from their cave entrance.
"It's Nova, you asshole!" said person yelled into his communicator, of which Kootra had dropped in the corner of their cave. His yell was so loud that it filled their entire room, even with just one of them going off.
"Well, there's your answer Hordan" Seamus sarcastically stated from where he lazily sat on the crafting bench. He threw his own communicator in the air and caught it with his magic, repeating the movement in boredom.
Kootra immediately froze momentarily at the nickname, so very close to his real name. He shook his head, answering sternly, "D-Don't call me that" hating himself to stuttering in front of his secret major crush.
Seamus rolled his eyes, encasing Kootra's communicator in his magic and holding it in front of said person as he responded, "Then maybe you should get Nova's name right for once" almost slyly.
Snatching his communicator from his grasp, Kootra pouted slightly as he suddenly found a great interest in the red hat resting on the top of his head. "But it is his name, though" he muttered to himself, forgetting that he was holding the communicator in the first place.
"It's not anymore, you fucking asshole!" Nova yelled again, clear anger and annoyance in his voice.
"Guys! Can you just stop arguing for one second?" Dan yelled angrily as he got up from his bed and walking annoyingly over to the other two.
"Heh. He started it" Seamus lazily stated as he went back to his own communicator.
"I did not-"
"Just fucking ask him where he is already!"
Dan sighed to himself at the two unknown lovebirds who just could not stop arguing since they started this journey in the Minecraft world once more.
"Fine! Ja- uh, Nova, where are you?" Kootra finally asked.
"Finally"
Kootra narrowed his eyes to himself at the sarcastic, mumbled comment. He really didn't want to say anything to anger his secret lover again. For once, he just kept his mouth shut.
"I went to the cave to get supplies. Why, where are you?" came the annoyed reply. Sometimes Kootra wondered how he could have ever seen him as more than his brother. In fact, how did Sly have that connection with him in the first place? Oh yeah, better as to not question Sly anyways. He did just that.
"Uh, with Seamus and Dan, where else?"
"Exactly. And you ask me why I don't-"
A cut off. It was not one with one of their communicators losing connection, it was one of which one of the two had stopped talking abruptly enough to cause a reaction in the other.
Nova's breathing was heavy, that was heard through the communicator. And then, there were distinctive footsteps and the hissing of a very familiar creature.
"N-Nova? Are you alright?" Kootra asked quietly.
Seamus had turned his own communicator up and was staring at it intently, as was Dan, who had just caught onto the sudden change in atmosphere.
Silence followed, one that seemed to last forever. Then the footsteps began to grow louder and a strangled breath fell into the communicator. "Oh shit..."
"N-Nova?" Kootra breathed, scared of what his brother had come across. Or of what had come across him.
Silence again. Then a series of heavy breathing and then the sound of, obviously Nova, walking quietly. When both sounds stopped, their friend said the words that sent the three into an instant panic.
"Come help me, please..." Nova whispered in a desperate tone, an obvious trail of fear taking ahold of his voice.
If Nova needed help enough for him to fall in that sort of a state, then something must be wrong.
Narrowing his eyes, Kootra summoned his hammer and gripped it tightly. Seamus summoned his own sword, as did Dan.
"We're coming Nova" Kootra answered, a serious tone overtaking his usually carefree voice.
With one, confident motion, the three were following the same trail Nova had taken, his memory trails easy to follow in either way.
'Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit' The thought rang in his head a million times as he pressed his body against the stone cold wall behind him, using the magic he had to blend into the shadows. Chantings Taint was held protectively in front of him and an aura of fear traced his outline.
He should've known better than to go out on his own, especially at night. This wasn't just a normal Minecraft adventure. Maybe it should've been, but they were Eternals now. If they were able to travel between worlds, then surely the Immortals were perfectly capable in doing so too.
He should've known that being here, alone would allow them to find him. They knew who he was. They knew his scent. Without the help from his friends, he was surely going to die. Even with the reassuring words of Kootra over the communicator, he was still terrified. He knew they were coming and they were closing in around him on all sides fast.
It was pitch black and he couldn't see a damn thing. He had no idea if they could see either. He decided that he would not think of that, as of what would happen if they could see him and how fucked he was.
