Eternals
Sticking Together - Team Rocket
Previous ChapterNext ChapterShe had hurt them, all of them for making the stupid mistake to wander near the border alone. She had gotten captured by Giovanni and the others had reasonably come to rescue her. They had been hurt but not as much as the one before her now. He had been the one who was the most enraged. She had watched the battle unfold from her forcefield prison. He was a crazed, rage-fueled monster at that point, from the blood that was splattered onto his fur and the clear glint of hatred and a distant tone in his blue eyes.
Then, he had approached her prison, to which he tried desperately to free her. She was worried about him, not because he was an Eternal, but because he, like the others, was the closest thing to a family she had now. He had ignored her pleas to not do it as he had used up the majority of his energy to blast through the forcefield, which backfired on him and both physically and internally injured him. He had not cried out, he had simply fell to the ground when he could no longer hold himself up. He struggled to move, each move being an agonizing struggle.
She had felt guilty before but this just hurt her. He had used up the majority of his energy for her and hurt himself, knowing very well what would happen. As she approached him, she couldn't help but to almost want to remain in that prison, thinking she deserved it for hurting her best friend.
Slowly, she reached her hand down to his head and gently pet it, the noises of the others battling completely nonexistent to the two. He shifted slightly as he slowly raised his head, his eyes unfocused and blurry. But he did find her outline with his aura vision. Smiling softly, he reached his bloodied, weak paw to her hand, gently grazing it as he dropped it back to the stone-cold ground in defeat.
"W-We saved ya J-Jessie" he weakly laughed, a cough shaking his body. With a small wince, Jessie noticed that his charm was barely golden anymore, instead a dull grey. Reaching her hand down, she picked up his paw and held it in her hand, the shaking in his body ceasing just a little bit at her gentle touch.
He stared at her for a few moments before he was interrupted by a hacking cough, which, to her own surprise, couched up a clot of blood. This shouldn't have been too much of a problem, seeing as how he often regurgitated the blood he consumed but when he spoke next, she swore that her blood ran cold.
"I-It's ma own bl-blood" he whispered softly, his breathing growing heavy as he spoke.
"Wha-What do you mean Meowth?" Jessie asked him carefully, her fingers rubbing the wounds on his paw in her small way of trying to make the pain go away.
"I-I mean dat it's not d-da blood I swa-swallow. It's ma body's blood" Meowth responded calmly and steadily, as he tried once more to prop himself up to his feet. He failed, slipping to the ground once more with a painful whimper.
Having enough of his pain, she released his paw and carefully picked him up, ignoring his painful whimpers as she handled his, pretty much, broken body. Holding him gently, she looked at his bloodied and broken tail and just barely grazed her fingers on it. The feline hissed softly under his breath in pain, making her realize just how sensitive his tail actually was.
Careful, as to not put too much pressure on it, she picked his dangling tail up and tucked it close to his body, allowing for him to gently begin to pet his own tail in his own way to comfort himself.
He was breathing heavily, his breaths ragged and strained, as if air was restricted against his lungs. She knew he couldn't permanently die but permanently slipping into a coma was very well in the picture.
Weakly, she watched him stop petting his own tail and reach his paw up to her shoulder, smiling softly when she gently touched his paw in response.
