When the news had stated that the moon was purple Lain had to laugh out loud, but a streak of curiosity had hit him and he needed to catch up on his history homework any way. Lain was the only at the house it was like him to be depressed but the moons purple beauty had struck him hard, reminding him of memories that have been burned. "History can alway wait when history can be made". Lain and his family had become familiar with this saggy depressed human but never had gotten around to ask him why he was sad, if only his parents and brother knew that it was them who made him this way. To calm himself he made these "quotes" when the time was right. A tear had formed in his eye and lain was not sure why, he wasn't sad at this moment. If anything the moon made him happy. Lain wasn't actually alone, he was with his dog Harley. He was out on the terrace with Lain, Harley was the friend that never let go or gave up on him, he loved Harley so much. Something hit his leg and he turned to see Harleys tail smacking his leg and pointing towards his room. "Thanks Harley, I need to finish history.".He ran to his room while looking at the clock on his way. His parents and his and brother would be back in an hour. By the time he was finish he had 30 minutes left to watch the moon once again. But the moon had him mystified with its glorious beauty, bringing more pain of the burned memories. Lain was going to cry when a flash of purple had formed around him and Harley. The beam didn't hurt but it felt like it was taking away his energy. Bit by bit he felt himself lifting off the ground as the beam grew brighter and brighter. When the ripping of Lain's energy stopped he was in a great wide open field.
"Lain what happened to you this time?" A voice from somewhere said to him. Lain only had one thought left before he blacked out... "Harley?"
When Lain had finally awoke he was in a room lit by a single candle on a cupboard, he was In a giant bed with pink sheets, demeaning his manhood every second. Suddenly he heard voices coming from behind two giant wooden doors.
"Sister, is the creature awake?"This voice was sharp, not a good start so far.
"I do not know, let me check on our Friend in there." The other voice was soft and gentle. It had a sort of 'all knowing' tone.
"Friend? he was out in the gardens unconscious and in great pain and smacked a guard while he was trying to help, I will not call this creature "Friend" just yet." Lain was wide awake now and was trying to figure out where he was. For all he knew he could be in a crime lord mansion. Suddenly blinding light seeped through a open crack in the huge doors. A small sigh that was barely hearable echoed in the room, it was too late to pretend to be asleep he had to face whoever or whatever took him in. The light seeping through the doorway blinded him. He couldn't see who took him in.
"I'm glad to see you awake friend, I hope the bed was comfortable enough for you given your umm, let's say unique species.Luna! Come let us meet with our friend here." Lain was in awe by the speech of his caretakers, by the sound of it he could guess he was in a castle or something. "Creature what is your name!" The voice was harsh and demanding. So being the man he is Lain covered himself with the large pink blanket he was given. Trembling he managed to barley stutter his name, " m m m my name is Lain, I'm a h h h human not a creature, w w who are you...?" The quiet voice had started once more calming lain as he trembled he had no view of who was talking but knew who was who.
"I'm sorry for my sisters greeting, my name is Celestia and this is my sister, Luna, it is nice to meet you Lain. Lain was so happy with kind voice, no one but his parents acted like this to him. "It's nice to meet you to.". Lain raised his head to the two figures in front of him.
"Do mind shutting the door. I'd like to see who took me in.".
"Of course.". The door slammed shut. Lain's jaw dropped as his eyes adjusted. In front of him were Two alicorn ponies.
"Y y y you two are.... ALICORNS!" Lain had started to panic now and had jumped out of the bed. He wasn't sure where he'd go but he knew was running out of the room, and he was going to get out but was stopped by the door closing making him slam into it. A dark blue aura had surrounded him. He was flipping out now, his feet floated off the ground and when the aura faded he was in the bed once more.
" please lain, I know you might be startled but let us help you, and to help we need you to calm down." After this he started to calm himself but was still on edge, Celestias voice was peaceful and very relaxed. Now was a perfect time to look over his caretakers Celestia was pure white with a long flowing mane and tail which were the colors of a sunset, Luna was dark blue with also a flowing mane and tail which were a beautiful starry night, he noticed Luna was also studying him as well. With a loud sigh and lots of remarks from Luna I might add, Lain was given an explanation of where the crap he was.
"So..." Lain was hoping the two princesses would start a conversation, silence would turn him insane soon, but Lain was still astonished by the hospitality and kindness towards such a saggy depressed creature, then lain realized that part hadn't shown yet and he was determined to keep it hidden.
"Lain, there's somepony I'd like you to meet. Come with us." Celestia motioned to him to come along. She and Luna walked out of the door and Lain followed.
Twilight was in the cafeteria when Celestia had come in, Twilight was called to Canterlot by the princeses. Using her new alicorn magic she teleported in the throne room and was told to wait in the castle cafeteria. Luna had come and sat next twilight explaining the situation, when Celestia sat down she asked if Luna would go get there "friend" from the hallway.
Lain did not like Luna as a friend, but still had a mysterious respect for her, it was because of her royalty or because of the same reason why he was tense... HE WAS IN A WORLD WITH ******* TALKING, MAGICAL, FLYING, PONIES. He was still taking it all in. Lain was not worried on how to get back home at the moment but more on making ally's, good ones. Luna came back to the entrance to where Lain could only guess was a cafeteria.
"Lain, accompany us to the cafeteria, my sister would like to discuss with you about a place to stay.
"Luna, when the guards found me, was there a dog with me?"
"Yes he was badly hurt so we took him to Fluttershy of Ponyville. Thine dog will be fine there."
Lain was so relived by the news, Harley was the only thing in his life that kept him sane. Hopefully he'd see him soon.
Meanwhile
A butter yellow Pegasus ran into the room. The dog was squirming in its sleep as he yelled out for his master. The Pegasus cooed over the sleeping dog as she tried to calm it. A bunny was thumping the floor rapidly as it awaiting it's snack. The Pegasus looked angrily at the bunny.
"Angel. This poor creature needs our help right now. I need you to cooperate please.". The Pegasus went back to cooing the scared dog. It still yelled out to its master. The tag on its collar said its name was Harley Bear. It also had numbers on the back which she could not decipher. The dog howled more for its master.
"Shhhhhhh, it's okay Harley. I'm sure your master will show up.". The dog started to calm down but still whined in its restless sleep. She set the heavy dog on her couch.
"He'll show up.". She said silently.
Trouble starts in weird places.
Somewhere.
The doctor walked into the room not wanting to wake the sleeping creature laying on the hospital bed. Still, the doctor knew the creature would not be waking up anytime soon but by Celestia's orders the creature was to be kept alive. Many gizmos and gadgets whined, whizzed, and buzzed around the room, monitoring every vital possibility that could help the hospital staff wake the creature. The doctor went to do a routine check on the creature and the machines, everything was the same as it was two weeks ago when the Princesses brought him here. Everything was the same, and the creature showed no sign of recovery. It just laid there on the bed. With a frown and a glow that literally emitted darkness around its heart. The doctor was assigned with this creature until he woke up, honestly the doctor couldn't wait to shut down the spell keeping it alive. After he had checked the instruments and refreshed the spell the doctor was about to leave when one of the machines beeped. And then another. And another. All of them started to beep, whizz, and just go out of control. The readings were completely random and the creature started to jump and spazz on the bed. The glow around its heart glowed it's unexplainable darkness and the room started to darken as the creature ripped out its cords with its eyes still closed. The doctor tried to turn for the door but the creature had somehow made its way over to the door faster than he could turn his head. The creature opeed it's eyes and they were blue and they stared right into his soul as the creature grabbed him.
"Where is the Vault worthless pony!?". The creature was mad as it brought him up and started to choke him.
"On All Hallows' eve. The boy shall die. And my master will be pleased. The vault will open and I will be free!". The creature threw the doctor across the room and it's yes rolled in the back of its head as it fell to the ground. The doctor heard it breathing and he ran out of the room screaming. 'Send a letter now! Send a letter now!'
Third pony Celestia.
Her faithful student sat across from her as they waited for Luna to come back with Lain.
"Is there really another one?". Celestia nods and sighs. Lain was not good news, Celestia saw how he acted when he saw her and her sister. Sure it was different from how Pete first acted but Pete was much older and mature. She could tell Lain was young, and Celestia had a knack for seeing who a pony was through their eyes... she worried about what she saw in Lain's eyes. He may not have shown much emotion but she could see pain.
"But, you didn't tell him about Pete?".
"I could not. Lain is under the impression that he is alone and unknown. As sad as it is to say this he must not know about Pete until things in the Crystal empire are sorted out. I have sent letters to every city and every town. He must not know he is not alone.". Celestia announced with a saddening tone. She was ashamed of lying like that but it had to be done.
"There he is Celestia.". Sure enough the two wooden doors opened and Luna walked in with Lain close by.
Lain's point of view.
As we walked into the cafeteria, or should I say giant dinning hall, I noticed Celestia with another alicorn. Her mane was a dark purple with lavender streaks through it. Her tail was the same thing but her coat was oddly similar to the beam that brought him here. I put on my best fake smile and sat down next to Celestia. I heard a small scowl from somewhere but I better ignore it. I have a bad feeling of where and who it came from. I smiled nervously at Luna but she did not return it, instead she turned her head and sat down... Right next to me. Great.
"Lain, this is my number one most faithful student, Princess Twilight sparkle.". The purple alicorn put out her hoof.
"It's very nice to meet you Lain.". She says with a warm smile.
"And it's nice to meet you too your highness.". I say smiling back.
"Please just call me Twilight, not to offend you Lain. But what is your species?". She asked.
"I'm a human, I don't have anything special about me like you ponies. Celestia says you can fly, use magic and, grow crops faster than any human farmer can. Geez if it wasn't for your low tech this country would be invincible!". I let out a small chuckle but was rewarded with confused looks by every princess.
"What do you mean low tech? Equestria has the most sophisticated technology, better than the surrounding country's in fact.". Celestia said confused.
"Tis true. Why does thou suspect this?". Luna asked. I cracked a smile. Time to blow their minds.
Meanwhile.
Harley entered the bedroom of the yellow horse. Lain had taken Him to a place with horses before they left to stay at the place with too many giant houses. The horses then weren't like this one. They didn't have wing or have pictures on their flanks. He even got to run with one, he was nice. When he woke in this weird place he was scared but the yellow horse comforted him. He went up to the yellow horses bed and gave her a kiss to wake her. Her eyes opened and yawned.
"Oh, hello Harley. Can you not sleep?". She asked. Harley nodded in response. Lain always let Harley sleep with him when Harley couldn't sleep. Which was a lot.
"Ok Harley, come up here.". The yellow horse scooted over and Harley jumped up on the bed. He nuzzled up to the yellow horse and quickly fell asleep in her hooves. Much like Lain and his hands.
