Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe old wizard closed the equally old creaky door. without thinking about it he quickly removed his hat and cloak and placed them on there respective hooks. he sighed. anypony could tell he was puzzled. he trotted over to his kitchen and began to heat a pot of water for tea. in the last few years he had begin to feel as though...he couldn't quite tell. he it was a bad feeling, he knew that much, but that's all he could tell. but alas it was nothing. as he had for many nights now he waved the feeling away and summoned a mound of spell books. he had read them all what must have been a thousand times, but he did not care they filled him with something to keep his mind occupied. one spell book about different levels of levitation magic, another about how to maximize teloportation parental, and a third book about using the sun and moon to increase your magic. a few others floated with it, but the only other one that mattered was his personal spell book. "teliportation....the raw magic......the moon would still nead to be presant......subjects are required....." he scribled page after page of notes
he got so emersed in his spells that he wouldn't have heard a loud thump on the door if it didn't echo vibrations threw the floor. he finally began to hear somepony calling his name. "swirl, star swirl get your bearded rump out here" the old grey unicorn walked over and opened the door. the old pony didn't feel like welcoming in his company but then was pushed aside as five armored pony's pushed past him into his home. "well now, what can i do for you fine young pony's doing here, oh busy of coarse not, come right in, no of coarse not don't wait for me to move just push right past" he glared at the guards shooting dangers that broke even there composer. he was so content on almost turning all there fur pink that he didn't notice when another pony walked to the door. "Mr. swoowl"
the voice was all to familiar. changing his composer the old stallion turned and faced the young prince that seamed to think that this old tree was his home as well. " young master Comit. what can i do for you" the young colt that seemed to be all to completed by the fact that he wasn't wearing his traditional hat and cloak. the young and bright red colt, came up to him. star swirl was still aggravated by the boy. he had a perfectly keep tail and coat, but his main was.....it gave the old wizard a headache. realizing he had not realized that the prince was talking. "-and then i was sooooo awesome i was just like you i was so bwave" star swirl just smiled and spoke as the young prince was expecting. " that is so amazing. your so brave and strong" the guards only began to snicker as he said it only to be cut off by him once again glaring at them.
from the kitchen he began to hear the pot of water began to whistle. "well my young friend i must bid you farewell, because although-" he swooped up the bright red colt. "you are young and full of energy. this old stallion needs his rest" he put the young colt back down and nodded at the guards. he began to nod to the guards as they in toon began to take the young prince to the door. only being stopped as the young unicorn pushed past them and garbed on to swirls legs. "Mr. swoorl were fwends wight?"
the words melted and conflicted his old heart." of....of coarse your majas....Comit"
as he closed the door behind the last guard he smiled as a faint glow took over his horn. he waited and then smiled as he heard the young prince laugh historically at what he had done to his escorts. "hmm i think pink is exceptionable it matches there personality's" he snickered as he walked back into the kitchen and removed the pot from the stove. friend. that word...complexes him. he had many friends right...... right, yes like that young librarian... miss.. well there's still the baker and his son. the doughhands, even though he had never bothered or cared to learn there names. or how about that one lion that always spared him a cookie as he walked by the woods where they had began preparations on the new castle. and then there was that dear he had befriended. not that the dear ever got near him. he quickly began making a list of all his "friends". the griffon Dracklen, that dragon he had began to help teach how to fly, and the kings guard was once his fried...right? he looked at the list and then quickly turned to a blank page. though he knew them all, to them he was still..... Mr swirl. he prepped his tea and began to return to his work. the books once again began to circle him. friend. he shook his head and began to scribble into his own spell book trying to focus on this new spell he was preparing. if this worked it would make the princes birthday a very fun one. but that also meant he had a deadline to meet. he did not know that the prince would not receive his gift, nor would he ever make it home. and would not until the morning. he would no longer have these brief visits with the him, or see that lovely smile. or hear the princes incapability to pronounce proper vowels most days. but he worked regardless.
